Unfortunately, the hexhunter bow is the only slayer item that may be worth binding (before level 100). blood necklace i'd never bind a blood neck over a promethium platebody :P too bad we just don't have more data on the hexhunter. I've seen sougazers, I'm just amazed that we've barely heard any word of it as a drop. You can get 99 dungeoneering and never see a blood necklace, but any smuck(well, nearly) can make themselves a prom plate. Unless you know of a way to craft blood necklases, you just don't know what you are talking about. so i'm supposed to bear with going to 100 dungeoneering without a promethium platebody or spear? the blood necklace is rare, but it isn't useful enough.

not even diamond (e)'s? :blink: i think for me it's just the issue that i feel like i'm wasting something if i don't loot my bolts. i pick up even by broads. granted, they're always in piles of 20 or so cause the only time i use range is for td's and prime. Touche :P

thar's a silly excuse, shooting a rune crossbow without an accumulator, for an hour, costs 144k, a crystal bow costs 108k, is that really a substantial difference? Honestly I use a soul wars cape instead of an accumulator with rune crossbows now. and I still don't bother looting the ammo. you really should never ever loot the ammo you fire, unless you're using dragon arrows or something.

It's a low level bow for low level rangers. The bolts are a pain to collect in masses making it much easier to use traditional bows and crossbows. Does anyone use bone crossbows anymore? aside from a book slot, a magic shortbow + rune arrows are better than a hunter crossbow + long kebbit bolts in every way and bone crossbows are kinda pointless now that they've been nerfed, that and u cant buy bone bolts in bulk anymore.

really? i'd find the pressure of having to time the start and ends of kills to be a little much

it's not too theoretical you're supposed to remove variables you have no control over when you're performing tests nobody really cares about your performance in between kills, since ultimately you control ultimately we're testing the WEAPONS, not the person and the weapons someone might be better at handling the firing rate of bronze knives than another player That shouldnt be reflected in your experiment

i still think we'd be best off counting the # of attacks to kill, since we know each attack is a set number of game ticks.

i've seen a single soulgazer (it didn't drop anything unique) it drops the hexhunter bow, but only by elimination. We know what all the other slayer monsters drop, not because i've actually seen a hexhunter.

That's why you use the crystal bow trick. :wink: I'd rather spend the extra money to use runite bolts tbh :P

Grimy's Ranged DPS Calculator as you can see, a crystal bow(8) or less is inferior to a rune crossbow with broad bolts in terms of DPS on a target with 0 defence. Considering a rune crossbow has better accuracy than a crystal bow(8), i'd say that would make a rune crossbow with broad bolts better than a crystal bow in every way. so either my equation for calculating ranged max hits is incorrect, or your data is wrong. *slaps thighs* bring it :D

Yes, each test is 10 minutes of pickpocketing. that's very interesting info then, jagex balanced that update better than i thought :P from your data it looks like the traders start being worth it at around lvl 95+? dont suppose you have the loot catalogued somewhere too? it's still 14 hours of data

why would every 6 hours have any effect on the charm rate? 200 charms in 6 hours = 33 charms/hour whereas I am claiming 15 charms/hour

that is waaaay too generous expect more along the lines of 15 talon charms per hour i believe

it was probably Bilrach unleashing whatever was locked at the bottom of the dungeon (the dragon kin) we'll probably not figure out for sure until someone reaches lvl 120 dung and batch 2 is released.
