Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.

I've always thought it was a boost to level. But I guess I never researched it thoroughly. Who told you this? primal longsword can't stab on aggressive unfortunately. That's the main reason it's never considered. As for the slash, baxe is up to 3% better on low defense. but longsword is up to 1.5% better on high defense. I might look into the possibility of primal longsword + maul being a viable combo. But this seems unlikely because the +6% dps from the primal baxe + gaunts combo is still extremely potent. -

What I meant to say is that it hits a lot better at 99 than 60 attack. What about sag shortbow +sag arrows as 3rd bind? That is another possibility that could be researched. But my hopes for that aren't any higher than for primal spear. -

gonna answer both your questions here. Maul doesnt require 99 attack. And maul could be better on things search as max level earth warriors, certain bosses, fire giants, etc. But we're not really certain on what it's better on. the cutoff between maul and baxe seems in the ~150 crush defense rating area. Now it's a matter of finding out what is around the 150 crush rating area, and is still worth crushing on. Recent calculations points towards the spear being better than the rapier at 60-90 stab defense rating. Which is a trivially low defense rating. Hence we're now disowning the rapier completely since baxe beats it for slash, and spear beats it for stab. As for whether or not having a weapon that you'd only use for stab is justified, we really need to find out if there's anything out there that's stab weak, and if so just how stab weak. -

After reviewing the relevant data between the DGS admins and a few ranks, we have come to the conclusion that rapier should be removed as an option as a third bind altogether. With the exception of those players who are using the primal rapier to collect accuracy data on stab. From now on we're going to take a more personal approach to binds. If you, for any reason, cannot use the basic bind setups we have suggested for whatever reason (insufficient Combat/RC/DG stats for example) You are now asked to contact a DGS admin or rank in private. I would prefer you contact me, but other DGS ranks are usually also qualified to answer. Just keep in mind that not all DGS ranks research DPS. Some are just keyers. With the removal of the primal rapier, as a recommended offensive third bind, this essentially leaves the CCS, emp fire staff, and primal gauntlets. We understand that not everybody has high magic/runecrafting/defense levels. So we are now looking into possibility of niche uses of primal maul and primal spear as offensive third binds. But I would not like to make any statements about these two weapons without further insight. -
A zaryte bow degrades, so does every chaotic. Does it really matter in which way you lose the money? at some places, with todays prices, a hand cannon will actually cost less than rapier or the bow. What's the blow up rate of a hand cannon at 99 Firemaking? 1/1000 or so? That would mean with today's prices one shot costs 348gp. Chaotic weapons and a zaryte bow are cheaper than that. Anyway, I think the zaryte bow deserves to be upgraded more than the abyssal whip does. i have the blow up rate as a function of firemaking xp on my range dps spreadsheet ;)

that's the healer. She might be able to longrange the mage from there, then safespot the warrior while meleeing the ranger. -
I actually tried this about a year and a half ago and it didn't work >_< But it didn't occur to me to wait 3 game ticks. I figured it simultaneous would work, it'd work like superheating ores or w/e else. Is there a reason for the 3 game tick wait? Is that just when the fire is complete?

I focus my bunyip powers, and then I see the matrix [spoiler=(image courtesy of vexn)]He has more of these images for like the rest of DGS lol

So you assume he's cheating because he gets faster dungeons than you and doesn't tell you how he does it? If you want to put it that way, yes. But I explained my reasoning well enough. If you seriously still have problems with this, take it to PM. If you have any issues beyond that, I will ask you to leave DGS alone. -
This is the metagame discussion subforum. The entire point of this subforum is basically efficiency.

Bullseye is definitely a unique keyer. And DGS floors are admittedly not up to the quality of floors that you'll find bullseye and turner nic in. According to Toad, bullseye claims and has demonstrated the ability to predict when wings will dead end. Toad thinks this is because he has some secret knowledge of how floors generate themselves, and is able to predict based on that. That is possible, but determining that would be a fairly challenging feat without knowing how the game is coded. The other possibility is that bullseye uses embedding to hack a floor map prior at the start of each floor. Regardless, he refuses to explain how he does this, even though he claims the ability to do so. Also, that's a floor 15. DGS might research the possibility of being able to read floors in the future. Cheesy's doing guide mode research right now for other purposes. But I'm not exactly fond of going on a wild goose chase to end up finding out that some guy is just cheating or something. -

DGS keyer logs indicate an average floor time of 25.86 minutes for ranked keyers. This data, however, includes joke floors that we do for fun. And does not include information on all of our keyers, such as toad. I'd say the true average is more around 24-25 for ranked keyers. And 26-30 for unranked. -

Don't forget about advertising range familiars- even if you make crimson ones(buying logs from store) they'll have great dps in gd's. when should you make ranged familiars? or is it a joke? Ranged familiars have by far the best dps of summons, so they are worth making in situations where you already have enough(2-3) ragers or are doing floors where you aren't likely to need ragers(tf and necro). Getting logs is usually easier than it is to get ore, too. they don't actually have better dps xpx, recent research shows they have the same max hit and same attack speed as ragers. -
do you solo? It sounds like you might. I assume you don't have a csb due to 65 runecrafting if you don't have a csb, and you solo, you'll probably want the prom 2h for the extra accuracy on monsters you should otherwise be maging.

That's essentially our stance on the matter. Because personal experience claims have proven to be wrong in the past. There's a big disparity between 2h and battleaxe anyways. It's possible that for some monsters, 2h is good to slash even if they're weaker to crush. Anyways, our stance is that we should avoid comments revolving around personal experience. It's fine to bring up personal experience. But if your post is only about a single personal experience, it's kinda spammy. -

Slash Do you have data? If you don't, please don't make such a concise post without stating that you do not know this within a reasonable degree of certainty. I believe with a 2h - you go with slash Anyhow, I finally have internet connection again! I was wondering - it seems like the choosing of the 3rd bind is dependent on the monsters on the floors. It seems like on occults (I usually do them as ffs/tfs), that there are tons of spiders/shades/hellhounds that would make a rapier a decent choice for a bind However, since DGS seems to advocate the gauntlet over the rapier - I was wondering, what are common monsters found in warped floors? We sufficient data on hobgoblins. Nor do we have sufficient data on the other monsters green has mentioned. The same goes for the other monsters mentioned by mr greens. I'd rather that DGS not take a stance on these monsters yet, and collect some data instead. -

Recent data collected by DGS members seems to indicate that there's virtually no monsters, save shades and and spiders, that have low enough defense to justify a rapier for the purpose of slash. And stab is fairly redundant with celestial surgeboxes and hexhunter. So no to the rapier. You have no hood, so a plate is a reasonable idea as you will be tanking damage for the team. Since you are tanking, take the opportunity to learn the nuances of knowing which prayers to use, when to safestep, etc. For example, recent insight thanks to toad, which tui and I confirmed today, that skeletal mages deal ranged based magic attacks. Which means even though you pray magic against them, platebody reduces accuracy of skeletal mages drastically, instead of increasing it. So things like that. If you're going to tank, learn the nuances of tanking. -
eh that's a pretty low max it. If I were to take the time to do that calc in particular, I would not be able to offer the same information to many other gamers other than you. I'll probably do my own calculation soon, but assume a player that is closer to maxed out. Sorry.
-
all you need to know about the matrix is if you give me the life points of a monster and the max hit you're hitting on it i can give you the % increase in DPS you will notice, including all forms of overkill loss. but I'm only offering this service for 1 monster, and only if i feel like it, since doing markov calculations is a little more time consuming than most calculations. as for determining max hit, you can use obliv's max hit formula. You can find his formula on the RSOF forums if you search "max hit formula" or you can use one of my spreadsheets, as they use his formula.
-
the exact dps increase of KO aura can be calculated with a markov matrix. But these calculations require a tremendous amount of computational power to do. More than enough to crash google doc if you try to use it on a monster with more than 100 life points. But if your provide 1 situation with X amount of lifepoints and and a max hit of Y my computer should be able to crank out a solution after ~10 minutes?, scaling drastically with the # of life points of the monster. Might be worth it to get a rule of thumb on the KO aura. 3% accuracy will result in ~3% increase in DPS @ 50% accuracy or lower it will result in 3/4 = 0.75% increase in dps @ 75% accuracy or lower. every time you halve the # of times you will miss the relative DPS benefit of a % accuracy increase, will reduce by approximately a quarter.

afaik, he did not. and no, i don't plan on testing it in the near future (within 6 months from now). We both have our hands kinda full. Maybe if I think of a convenient way to calculate it. For example if i knew with certainty that the in game stop watch counted ticks, i'd do that. but i don't know that with certainty.
-
rapier
-
then i'd say emp fire until you're good at safespotting, which you should wait til about 105-110 dg to say with certainty. Even if you're good, doesn't necessarily mean you need armor though. Especially if you're not a keyer.

Jactise basically nailed it, but allow me to copy and paste the mission statement for you: You fail at both points. You can't take criticisms, therefore you are not a serious dungeoneer, therefore we have no interest in training you. Nor are you like minded. We usually don't ban for just ignoring a criticism, although we can depending on the severity. In your case you were asked to negotiate with the ranks and admins through private channels But, you decided to post it on the forums instead. We as a clan have no desire to train someone so volatile. Thus you are banned.
