Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.

Considering it's 9.5 xp per essence and zmi yields 15-18 xp per essence, it's unlikely it will be better xp. Other than that, with potential 700k an hour income, it could be decent in that way. Any lower level method is definitely worth researching as we keep pushing for everyone to have 70 rc and csb bind. Isn't ZMI worse than that at such low RC levels? I know it scales pretty heavily as you level up. Lumberyard teles also take you quite near the altar and banking is less painful, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if it trumped ZMI for lower levels. yeap, that's the logic. Anyways I'm not quite feeling in the mood for research quite now, but I'll keep it in the back of my mind. -

aye, +12 strength bonus trumps +17 melee attack and +6 magic attack or w/e it is. Anyways gold prec bracelets are really common if you do C1-6 small solos a lot. -

maybe I should research that mud runecrafting w/ lumberyard scroll thing some other guys suggested recently for all these people who need 70 rc. -
Perhaps in the context of the average scaper, your advice is good. But DGS is here, so your advice is not in this context.

that's a good number. If cash is low, it might be a good idea to cut out on a few laws, drop a cosmic gatestone @ HT, and tele back for more later. -

learning dps takes time to learn. Puzzles you learn once and it's over. I don't think it makes sense to halt the DPS training to teach some puzzles. Remember we plan to release DG videos sometime in slightly more than a month. It's probably much more efficient to teach people how to gate, move ggs, run, do puzzles effectively through the medium of a video than it is during the middle of a floor. Whereas the middle of a floor is probably the best time to learn DPS and safespotting techniques. -
not if you have a 50-50 chance to win but your opponent is staking 2x as much money as you, or something along those lines.

expected returns are always 0 if you're betting 1:1 odds. All the martingale system does is offset risk and reward. you have a small chance of losing everything. and a big chance of winning a small portion of your finite cash stack. over the course of the martingale betting system. but when you factor both in, expected returns comes out to 0. use the martingale system enough and you will get cleaned eventually. If you wanna gamble sure, have fun with this system. It can create the illusion of winning more money than you're losing. but expected profits are still 0. It's a waste of time.

their damage output @ 100% accuracy is proportional to the following: Handcannon: 256.8 Karils Crossbow: 238.0 Zaryte Bow: 214.8 Broad Bolt/Crossbow: 196.8 rune dart: 234.0 Costs: Hand cannon: 250k gp/hour in ammo, and i'd say 350k-600k gp/hour in hand cannon explosions depending on FM level Karils Crossbow: 850k gp/hour in ammo, + some more in repairs Zaryte Bow: ~250-500k gp/hour in repair costs assuming this bow degrades the same way as chaotic crossbow. ~500k gp/hour for chaotic crossbow repairs depending on what kind of combat zone you're in. Broad Bolt/Crossbow: 120k gp/hour in ammo, if no accumulator, ~500k gp/hour for chaotic crossbow repairs depending on what kind of combat zone you're in. Rune Dart: 300k gp/hour in ammo, if no accumulator Rune darts look to be the best option here, unless you have the money to justify dishing out 500-850k gp/hour on a hand cannon Which of course, plenty of people do.

Equation for amount of herbs/farming lvl
Grimy_Bunyip replied to jjjon123's topic in Help and Advice
So - it's hearsay basically? Grimy probably has it set to a conservative estimate. You can't very easily incorporate everybody's level in writing a spreadsheet. yes, it's a conservative estimate. I haven't done too much research in the matter. and yes, 99 farming was my first 99, and unfortunately i didn't log my farming data before i started my spreadsheets. I started an herb running data log @ 99 farming, but I never got enough data for it to be significant yet. My data log states: 198 Herb Patches (excluding not trollheim) farmed. 19 herb patches died - which is not a significant sample pool PS Tieszen, can i see ur data ;o -
monks and prose both give +5 I prefer monkrobes over prosy legs tho.

Well, basically, what it boils down to is the quality of dungeoneers that use those binds. Any newb can use a plate and get a high percentage of use out of it, while the binds we recommend require you to learn and adapt for them to be useful and better. For dungeoneering, a plate might be the best 3rd bind as people just aren't skilled enough, but the approach dgs is taking is that we encourage people to get better and work on their dungeoneering skills by basically disallowing the bind that would be detrimental to learning proper combat mechanics in dungeons, thus, even though some may suffer for it, the end goal is that every one us will have those those vital skills and be much better for it. I'm not saying that a plate is useless, but a really good dungeoneer has enough tricks up his sleeve to avoid atleast as much damage without wasting a bind slot for it, and if you don't learn those tricks, you will never be a good enough dungeoneer. I mostly agree with your post, and am happy to see someone that agrees plate is not completely useless, as everyone seems to dismiss it completely (with the exception of tui and toad it seems). I am not dismissing dps binds either - I have one, a Hexhunter bow and have also had a blood necklace in the past. IN MY EXPERIENCE both defensive and offensive binds can be used well, and not every plate user is a "3bo derp" as alot of you would say. I just prefer platebody, and using it well allows me to get the same xp/hour as your dps binds. (and however much you try to dismiss it, you all know you will get more deaths with a dps bind). So it all boils down to what you prefer since in the end if you know what you're doing, binds don't make much difference to your xp per hour. (go ask lemar or bu11seye00) As xpx stated, the reason we tell people to go for DPS binds is because it forces them to learn new tricks. DGS will recommend to NOT bind any armor until those tricks are learned. the reason behind it has nothing to do with whether or not the platebody is a good bind. -
No need to farm anything other than torstols after 85 farming unless you intend to game for over 12 hours a day. You'll get 99 farming well before you max everything else. there might be something more efficient than air bstaffs. for crafting. Remember you can superheat a few ores while you're smithing addy plates. I never had a problem getting 99 ranged without chins, just cannon + steel titan. What's your money source out of curiosity. effigies on agility is a good choice considering you're 99 RC.

I said one rager scroll, i didn't stipulate accurate or not :P it should take about 6-7 or maybe even more keen eye shots to be equal to one accurate rager scroll. The idea is that keen-eye should work regardless of whether it's accurate or not. -
Interesting, I never thought about alching in soul wars.... have you considered training magic through other means? low alching teaks is pretty good. superheat LRC, etc.

pure, you must name the bosses with a certain, exact spelling otherwise the spreadsheet won't recognize the boss. you can find the spellings on the nomenclature page Uhh.. where's that at There is a tab named "nomenclature" top or bottom of your log depending on what Gmail account you're logged into. -
RuneScape Game Mechanics - How is damage calculated?
Grimy_Bunyip replied to Assume Nothing's topic in Data and Research
The spreadsheet is great but I can't seem to find the bit with the theory of how damage is calculated. Knowing how damage is calculated is useful because it gives an insight on how Dragon Claw's special attacks work, and such it runs on a dice system, just reverse engineer it, it's just some algebra. -
RuneScape Game Mechanics - How is damage calculated?

This was researched just under 2 years ago. Anyways you can use these two calculators if you want the details. https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AldEhLOK6ejJdDNIY1hWNTFvbzV5RWNjZk05N0RFeFE&hl=en#gid=0 https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AldEhLOK6ejJdEVFNkhzNHJsbDFSNDhmemhQUnRNTFE&hl=en# PS you should check out my other sheets if u haven't already ;D -
idk about the rest of the community, but dungeoneering's pushed the efficiency community to socialize and come together.

A lot of bots crash because of new item IDs and can't simply just log back in. If logging out is so good at pwning bots, why doesn't jagex just make random events log players out.

By rank do you mean recruit rank? or wingman/keyer rank. -

but do it too much and it's not in the interests of the clan. They right to do so might be there. But don't do it to the point of being destructive to the community. -

Unless of course, I am mistaken and it is a different rule for those DGers who are higher ups in the clan chat and those of us who are still learning? Another problem that is faced in the chat that makes this void between users who want to key and the higher ups is Grimy's timesheet thing. I honestly believe that this is one of the worst thing to happen for DGS as it has now completely taken away any chance for someone like me to join a higher up/rank on a floor. Too many times now at Dae I have seen someone hosting a floor and deny a DGS user, new or old, a floor stating "No derps please, I don't want to affect my times", and I honestly believe that is why the 3 high levels in the point above quit the floor after 20 minutes. The spreadsheets are not public. Nor are the links posted anywhere that is easy to find as far as I know. The spreadsheets exist for us to make sure our keyers are up to par. I'm speaking in DGS skype and i'm being told by several DGSers that they don't see many players blatantly rejecting newer players. Aside from maybe losing games. DGS's main aim used to be about LEARNING and TEACHING and ultimately not about times and how many times you can key a sub 20 min 5:5. This idea ultimately separates the Chat with those who can and those who are learning. To be able to learn effectively is to have a higher up/rank keying, yet they keep themselves to themselves often operating with each other and leaving everyone else to get on with it. I remember reading a comment from a user (whom I wont mention) detailing that he can only do one floor with new people before having to do Warped's with people he knows because he can't cope teaching. THIS is the exact attitude that the higher up's in DGS are now portraying to anyone coming into the CC and I would have thought this would be the exact attitude that DGS would try to avoid. People have to learn, and start from somewhere, sometimes progress may be fast, other times it's slow and therefore you might not be able to get that precious 20 minute or below floor and therefore *GASP SHOCK HORROR!* might have to sacrifice your precious average. Yet experience is key - someone learns a lot faster with people of more experience teaching and holding their hand. To clarify, teaching and learning have never been the primary goal of DGS. They are a means of training people who can do sub 20 min 5:5's. That being said, we expect (and probably have not sufficiently communicated) that for each keyer that is ranked, we expect that ranked keyer to personally mentor 1-3 other players until they are sufficiently competent. Because, that's necessary for growth. But to clarify, creating a population of people who can do sub 20's, and a population that is knowledgeable of dg, and is smart, is *the* goal, upon which DGS focuses on. Yes, we teach. But we teach with that goal in mind. If an individual doesnt show that they are contributing their due effort, if they flat out intend to stop DGing eventually. Then of course we reserve all right to not teach such an individual. In my opinion, from an outside view, if this clan is going to keep living in Help and Advice instead of going into the Clan section (because ATM in my opinion with what the CC is expressing it belongs there) then some of the high end players need to lower themselves to start teaching us down here. Afterall experience is key to this teaching. I have done floors with Michael, benefitting greatly from his experience and teaching and yet still managing to get a reasonable time on a floor which was proceeded to be called horrible, but that's a different story. I learn so much from floors with Mr Recci and Mr Greens it's unbelievable because they have the experience and don't care about floor times. It's primarily down to these two people I have been able to learn my strengths and weeknesses in a dungeon and address them and become more efficient in the process. They show the exact attitude DGS should be embodying and therefore breaking up the routine of high levels just doing Warped's all the time and then doing Occs and Abd's between themselves should be the key factor, and also putting less emphasis on people getting low floor times and therefore a low average would be good. This is just my current 2 pence on DGS. I love the CC and I love some of the characters in it and you guys have hooked me on dungeoneering with my aim now being 100; but it's beginning to start to feel more of an elitist clan by the week as people progress into the higher levels and leave behind those who really need the help all in aid of getting a lower average to become the best higher up keyer there is. EDIT: Inb4*walloftext* commentbyxpx <3: EDIT 2: And the post above mine, by Wadebling, about having a 22 min average today exactly emphasises my points about how there is a rift forming between higher ups and lower levels (although I can see it's F15). But also look at Eyebeam and Dying Silents posts with the 14 min time - again showing that higher levels stick together to get better times. PS the following individuals need to share access to their spreadsheets with [email protected] I've been adding new code to other users' keyer logs regularly. Cept for yours, since i don't have access. mr greens - chewy - losing games - zaaps - mc
