Giving f2p mages fire wave would mean the max hit would be 20, at 75 magic. Assuming he has 50 hp, and 75 mage, as well as 43 prayer would give him. Level 54. Hitting maxes of 20, at level 54 combat. This would be equivalent to someone with 110 melee stats, so assuming 40 attack, we have 70 str. This would also be equivalent to a ranger with 75 range. The person with 40 attack and 70 str, has a max hit of 24, with a rune 2 hander, which is roughly half the speed of magic. With a rune longsword, which is about the same speed as magic, we have a max hit of 21, without the advantage of range, binding, cursing, and various other spells that come with 75 magic. Rangers get a max hit of 14 at 75 range, discarding the added cursing spells, etc. But its slightly more rapid than mage, so it balances it out. Also, keep in mind that if the opponent is snared the mage out ranges the ranger with ease. So maxing out mage would "roughly" balance out the triangle, if we add say 40 defense to this mix of hypothetical players, the meleer will miss alot on both the ranger and the mage. The mage will hit almost constantly to the meleer and ranger, dragonhide or not, as well as being able to far cast both classes with ease, and range would also hit fairly well on the 40 defense of the meleer. Which... would unfortunately mean mage is the strongest f2p class. Until it maxes out. Just an observation.

Mage maxes out way to early, we need higher spells. Range is allrite now, at least we have addy arrows. Melee is also allrite, at least in my opinion.

Precisely what you could do with melee. Of course, magic has this nifty spell known as teleblock... Yes, the nifty spell in an inferior spellbook with the highest hitting spell needing a special staff so you can't even hybrid properly. Hmm where is the Q and A thread anyway?

YAY I LOVE MAGE! This is gonna be update of the year for me, in my favorite skill =D. I hope they make magic more accurate, splashing is a real pain, especially when I'm versing some pure with 99 magic and yet still hits more on my 45 defence than i hit on him.

Not only dose switching worlds take to long, it dosen't guarantee that the other world is empty, i used to just switch worlds, but in popular spots, there is almost always someone there. So what am i gonna do, simply quit mining? 100k is money, sure its no big money, but remember, 100k is like, 300 pieces of food, a @#%&load of arrows, etc. 100k can buy you quite a bit.

I wouldn't mind getting stat spyed, i personally think the high scores should dissapear and actually make stat spy useful. Its so stupid that people can look at your stats in a pvp world, and make judgements from that.

Dragon axe is fairly stable, might as well buy it, and sell it when you don't need it. But a few factors could cause it to fall, so it could be problematic.

I support it, the main reason for not letting free players use rsof is because of spam. If only high level f2p players can use it, it's fine. I think f2p players should have a say as well, not just p2p. Seriously. I think there should just be a level requirement in general, not just for f2p players, but p2p players as well.

Sure why not, every other skill seems to have weldable items, etc.

Unholy books, rune defender, obsidian sheild, mage book, etc. All fairly decent shields.

In my opinion d2h is the only 2h useful in p2p. Combat rings with pures, everyone swinging there d2h specs nets pretty sweet xp. Its good in castle wars, soul wars and other crowded minigames as well.

You need crafting to make harpoons. Just ask players, most of the time theres always one nice person willing to give you there harpoon when they run back to the kiln.

I used to sell cooked lobsters for 100 gp each with no idea of real price (DAMN!!!) I made over 200k as a newbie with that, to bad i was getting ripped off each time.

For its combat levels though, range wins =D.
