  1. The problem with maul is its crazily inaccurate, erratic, and when you fail your spec you got nothing. That being said, yes you can 1 hit KO semi-often :D
  2. You mean for 1 hour of everyone running away and safing against you? That being said, yes, it is one of the cheapest options.
  3. Why make more than 1 pure? Stick to one pure, build up all 3 combat stats, Strength, Ranged, and Mage, and then go nuts in PVP.
  4. Dont even bother with obby. Your attack levels way beyond the point where a typical obby mauler would be useful. Quest yourself to 50 or 60 attack depending on how many quests you have/what weapons you happen to like. Also get strength up a bit to be on par with your ranged. For KO's get a Gmaul/DDS. Or if you like ranged, Rune Xbow + Dragon Bolts. For general damaging weapon, well i guess it depends on what you like and how much cash you have to spare. -Karils Xbow is an expensive option, both in initial cost and the upkeep of the bolts, nonetheless its a good weapon (Like a really strong MSB) -Rune knives are good, but very expensive. -Dragon darts are a step below rune knives, and cheaper. -Rune darts/Addy knives (Same stats btw) are a step below dragon darts. Get the rune darts because they are cheaper than knives. -MSB + Rune arrows is a solid option, and very effective. -Obby rings are pretty much the same as MSB + Rune arrows, only the rings are one handed, and double the price of arrows. In other words, its not worth using these unless you have zerker neck (And you wont) Armor should be strength amulet, climbing boots, ring of recoil, and then whatever you want that looks cool (doesnt really matter in a pures case) As for stuff in your inventory... - Ranged potion - Super Strength - Anything from monks to sharks to rocktails, also a pizza is good for combo eating. I personally carry half an inv of monks and half an inv of sharks. - (Optional, if your riskin lots) Phoenix necklace, quickly click on this if your afraid of dieing, on top of the rest of your combo eating. ---------------------------------- PKing is simple, Pot up, bring them down a few notches with your damaging weapon, switch on prayer, and then KO (Good to set it in quickpray). If you get rushed or someones trying to KO you, and your scared of dieing. Eat pizza, eat shark, and if your really afraid of death, use phoenix necklace (Remember to reequip strength amulet later).
  5. Personally i think he should train mage to 55 normally for the HP boost. And then alch to 90 or whatever should he really feel the need. Also either pick ranged, melee or both for KO's. And keep those levels on par with magic. Really, specialising too much in a single area benifits no one but your enemy. Especially in a mages case, which normally has subpar KOing abilities in comparison to other combat styles.
  6. While i think many of your suggestions are very balancing, i think its fine as it is. Each combat style being distinctly different from the other. Melee is the best for PVM, great for PVP KO's, and has very little upkeep, but highly priced weapons. Mage is great for PVP, crap for PVM because of very large upkeep. But nonetheless is very powerful. Range is good for PVP, and good for PVM, it has moderate upkeep and the weapons themselves are also moderately priced.
  7. Irregardless of weather or not your a "poor noob", the cost of the skill should always be taken into consideration in balance discussions. It wasent overpowered before the arcane steam necklace (except in the case of castle wars/SW, in which the sheer cost of ancient magicks more than justifies its power). And yes people did use it, i'm not seeing the problem here... Are you trying to make a point?
  8. A high level.....with manners?! Seriously, just quit with this [cabbage]. Don't think we can't see that you're purposely trying to emphasise any little post that supports you even though your argument has been ripped apart hundreds of times, and the majority disagrees with your point completely. Basically this. [developmentally delayed]ed generalizations based on nothing but a single personal experience. Not to mention that stealing spots is entirely within there rights as a runescape player.
  9. Except that it wouldn't. Yea, monster drops arent even close to the main source of coins. Most of its from alching and PVP.
  10. Magic costs loads of cash to use in castle wars/clan wars. Melee is free, and range is close to free. Until mage is free in minigames like everything else, complaining about mage is just stupid, if it was perfectly balanced with melee and range in things like castle wars NO ONE would use mage, because it costs so much.
  11. I donno, they could always... Cut trees or sumtin.
  12. Fail Troll. in the uk atleast you can go 5mph over the speed limit without being considered to be speeding due to the fact it is impossible to maintain a 100% steady speed and you can easily drift inbetween speed checks. He was being sarcastic. Still fail because the people he wuld be arresting wuldnt be breaking any law. Thats the fking point. Its a technicality, and its not actually breaking the law. Though you do actually get points off a driving test if you go 1MPH over the speed limit, at least here in australia.
  13. Range has always been a great skill, generally with little risk in comparison to mage and melee, they could kick ass. Sure, mage and melee got favored a bit with the dung update, but its not gamebreaking. Especially because the people in those vids are using all combat styles, not just mage, melee or range. -------------------------- Also, arcane stream costs 30k tokens, at 50k XP an hour, thats 6 hours of work. And when its so easily lost in PVP thats nothing to be laughed at.
  14. And this isnt a troll thread! HURR DURR
  15. Arcane streams reallly hard to get... If they risk that, they deserve to kick ass.
  16. Its not that easy either, especially as a pure. And even then, your only using the magic for ONE thing, teleblock, which will likely not help you very much because most people just PK around edgeville anyway.

Not saying i like the game, never tried it personally. But do you REALLY need it to compete at corp? I mean, its only an extra bonus of ~5, does it really matter that much?
  18. Don't even bother. At anything past level 40, mage may as well not exist in F2P, its not good for KO's, and its not good for consistent damage. Teleblock may be its one redeeming feature, but it costs like 10 mill to get there. So basically, forget mage exists, maybe train it a bit to get your HP up, but mainly be a range 2her.

Its more populated really. If its spread out through 170 worlds, its not going to work, there will be like 5 people every world. That being said, it would be good... Wildy would actually be a dangerous place and all.
  20. Personally, i dont think anyone will get it. Its just far too long, even with the most efficient training methods it would take years. By that time, most people would have quit. Theres only so much you can do without going insane.
  21. Oh yea hammers, definately worth it. Helped me get my construction up at a very cheap price :D
  22. SC gear in general is pretty lame. In most cases, the time spent getting the weapon more than offsets the extra XP gained, especially because SC weapons/items are generally subpar when compared to higher level stuff.
  23. I wasent aware of this...
  24. I guess it depends on your definition of overpowered. Ranged is a very powerful skill, and when compared to melee, doesnt really raise your combat levels as much, making it pretty dam great for PVP.
