Well i dont know to be honest. Dungeoneering a badly designed skill in general, and i think without a major overhaul it wont ever be really perfect. Because while (as i mentioned) i do think that yes, as a skill, the rewards should be more permanent. But... Should weapons that are among the strongest in the game be easily replaceable upon death? Should a non combat skill have such sway over combat, both PVP and PVM, should you NEED 80 dungeoneering to compete in high level boss hunting? If they are easily replacable, should the stats be nerfed? Or should the cost of upkeep be increased? Something that would make normal items like whip still viable to people with high dung? Should you need dungeoneering to wield the item? Maybe the weapons should be tradeable, and have no dung requirement? Its all well, just strange, and theres no easy solution to any of these problems. Personally, with things like mobilising armies, dungeoneering, as well as some pretty crazy quest requirements for some essential quests currently in place, jagex obviously thinks that minigames, alternate skills, etc should have a large sway on combat, despite being minigames/non combat skills. I personally dont think they should, but at this point, any nerf would make dungeoneering borderline useless. Bah, damn you jagex and your crazy mini-game-skill-thing.
  2. Lrn2maths Trillion has 12 zeros. 3,000,000 x 45,000 only yields 9 zeros. That means 135 billion. Or 0.1% of what you said. I havent calculated crap, but im pretty sure trillion is different in different countrys.
  3. This is lame as well, random insta deaths are stupid. But then again, safing is a little less stupid in P2p. Even if they safe like nutjobs you still have a fighting chance at a KO.
  4. These guys exist? o.O
  5. So what, hitting 600's with ancients is pretty dam ducking hard as well. As a KO weapon, dark bow is definately up there, and while not exactly in the consistent damage department, crossbow more than fills that niche. I mean, even those ancient mage hybriders used melee and ranged for there KO's, this is despite risking arcane streams and other crazy shet, because mage ko potential is small in comparison to melee and ranges.

As a regular F2p PKer, waiting for EP is just a waste of time in my experience. I seem to get the same loot at zero EP as i do at 100 EP, only i have to wait fking ages for the 100 EP. Generally though, Higher levels = Better loot, and P2p = Better loot. So assuming you fullfill one or two of that, you SHOULD get decent loot.

Theres everything wrong with how it is designed. When the chaotic weapon is THE ONLY (and im not exaggerating, its THE ONLY reward from level 80 dungeoneering, assuming you dont buy other items), you SHOULD NOT lose all your work up to level 80 upon death, and not be able to gain it back until you get another 2 mill experience or whatever crazy number it is. No other skill is so... Like this... I dont lose the ability to hit high if i die with strength, the ability to mine if i die while mining, the ability to cast spells if i die with magic, the ability to runecraft if i die while doing that. But should i have the sheer gall to actually try and USE the rewards for dungeoneering, i can and will lose all my work up to level 60/80/whatever if i die.
  8. When people got large amounts of RC experience from dung runecrafting, they rolled back then. But when people get large amounts of money from climbing boots bug/glitch/intentional idiocy, theres no rollback. Its an epic double standard. ---------------- Oh wait, its you, we all know you cant do real arguments and just troll with "Lulz, so what?"

So what. With dung, you get the ability to use a better sword, and you lose it when you die. Fking fail. The only current, accurate analogy towards ancient magics is if you ALWAYS kept the sword, even upon death, but only had to pay for recharges. But right now, its like losing the ability to cast ancients if you die. That may be reasonable, but that still doesnt fix the problem of completely losing all your work up to level 80 just by dieing. Also, until this hypothetical update comes, dung is still more minigame than skill.

yeah, complaint is senseless Again, they are minigames. Dungeoneering is a skill.
  11. The reason half shield is worthless is because the item made is worthless. If a rare drop avaliable from practically anything was actually useful, then random drops would net some insane amount of cash.
  12. It wasn't a fix, they handed out 300b selectively. Climbing boots have been around very nearly since the start of rs2- 6 years or so, and now is the time to pull this? and good fix? you must be living on some other planet. For your information, the wrong that jagex saw in this was that people sold 2 gp boots for 60k as an opportunity cost, thus, as a ''good'' fix they made sure noone would ever use those boots anywhere ever again. good fix my ... dont you just love people who blindly support jagex? Leaping to the defense of wealthy game companies who dont know or care about you.

Those are minigames, NOT skills. As a skill, dungoneering rewards should be a little more permanent than they are now.
  14. Rare drops from a random rat shouldnt randomly net 500 million.
  15. Range has been asking for ages. Mage also needs low quality gear :D That being said, ranged really isnt that bad off, it gets very respectable KO potential as well as good DPS out of very cheap weaponry, and higher level KO weaponry like dark bows do exist. It gets nothing special in terms of special effects like magic, and its KO potential generally gets stomped on by melee, but its a good middle ground.
  16. The balance is fine. Sure, magic is disproportionately expensive in both PVP and PVM, ranged is a cheapo skill, and melee is almost certainly the best choice for PVM, but in my opinion each side of the triangle should have its strengths and weaknesses. We do NOT want a rock paper sissors system where a ranger wins against a mage just by being there. And where all the sides of the combat triangle are pretty much the same.
  17. I'm pretty sure its more like 50% And even THEN its still more expensive than ranged at 1-4k per cast. And thats just the cost of the runes, let alone the aforementioned super expensive staff of light, battlerobes, and a tome of frost. If anyone risks that much in PVP, then they deserve to kick more ass than 150k welfare ranger. I get that theres not that much high quality range gear, and not much differentiation between ranger risking 150k and ranger risking 1.5 mill, but dont go nerfing very expensive magic that requires very good hybriding skills, just because welfare range cant keep up. Instead, ask for range to get high quality gear.

Yes, but you lose the actual weapon. And you have to get 5 mill or whatever amount of XP just to get it back. If you get to level 82 and die with a chaotic weapon, you have nothing to show for it. All you have is a skill which is useless without the tokens to accompany it, and the knowledge that you just lost a chaotic weapon. Its ridiculous, its like losing the ability to cast ancients if you die, and having to get 5 million magic XP just for the ability to cast it again. I mean, you have to get like 2 million dung experience just to get back a lost chaotic LS.
  19. Youve missed a golden age of great pking, flawless updates, an amazing new... BAHAHAHAHAHAH I'm just kidding you, you aint missed nothing. :D
  20. Sir_Kurity replied to ghjkl's topic in Rants
The thing with dungeoneering is that practically the ONLY reward that you get from it is the weapon you buy at the end. Which means that, if you lose the weapon, it doesnt matter if you have 1 dungeoneering or 80 dungeoneering, you still have nothing to show for it over the person with 1 dungeoneering other than the extra XP. It would be the equavalent of a mage being unable to cast ice barrage if he dies, and being unable to cast it again until he gets 7 million magic experience. It sound ridiculous, i know, but thats basically what dungeoneering does. At this point, it has nothing to differentiate it from a minigame.
  21. I dont know where your getting 48's from... Just what crazy gear is this? Or is this going to be a minigame like castle wars? And more often not used? Are you kidding me? PVP is expensive, most people go welfare, a ranger can spend less than 150k on things like 15 d bolts, d'hide, and rune xbow and still do into the 50's by just random lucky specs, while the actual DPS on the weapon still stays quite high. The most you can mage welfare is nothing on range welfare. spend 150k on mage gear and you will get a joke coming out the other side. Sure, in terms of high end gear, when mages risk arcane streams that take upwards of 6-8 hours to get, full ahrims, zuriels, plus KO weapons like claws, etc, they may rip crappy welfare rangers apart, but hey, advanced hybriding > pure range anyday. And SOL? Battlerobes!?! Seriously?! Are you trying to troll me? That things incredibly expensive, and even then only saves 1/8th of the runes. Battlerobes cost 1.6 million GP on GE, oh thats not too bad... Until you realize that no one sells them, and that they need constant recharging, By comparison an accumulator may as well be free, and saves loads of ammo, and even if it didnt, you can just pick up the damn ammo anyway. Bolts break rarely, sure, but runes dissapear, period, and without super expensive weaponry/robes, ALL THE TIME.
  22. Dragon armour is, and probably always will be, nothing but a status symbol. Its fortunate that all the dragon weaponry is quite useful though.
  23. First let me start by saying that this would be awesome... But, DONT KNOW HOW THAT WOULD GO DOWN?!!!! People would [bleep]ing die, the world would explode! Everyone would [cabbage] bricks!
  24. Sir_Kurity replied to ghjkl's topic in Rants
Dung is stupid in my opinion. As a skill, if you spend time and money on it, you SHOULD get rewards that are a little more permanent than chaotic weaponry, or at least easier to get should you lose them. No other skill is so minigame-like in this regard. You dont suddenly lose the ability to use ancients if you die while casting ice barrage, and you dont suddenly lose the ability to summon a steel titan if you die with it, yet you will lose pretty much all your work up to level 80 dung should you die with chaotic weaponry, its just lame.
  25. Range is nowhere near as expensive as mage generally. All you REALLY need is a crossbow, plus cheapy D'hide armor and stuff like that. Mages run with far more expensive armor, arcane streams, expensive staves, runes that you CAN'T pick up. And after all that, there KO potential still pales in comparison to range and melee. Plus, if your using onyx bolts, then you should be ripping them apart unless they are using zuriels.
