  1. Sweet, thanks. I love old RS history. I remember some thread on the older RSOF in Jagex light where it was basically "how old are you?" There were tons of old players posting there. Even "Ashley" dropped by to post some, along with her husband, and Zezima, and a few other very old school players. Old school as in some of the first 100 accounts to be created on Runescape. (Ashley was like #13 or something) Yeah and then 831 hours of fire runes to get 91 rc. Ouch
  2. ahah, that's what I thought green might have meant. Wasn't sure if I had missed something. EDIT: No wait! It does exist! http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2item_id=10766 ooo, ring of devotion stops sara people in gwd. Meaning you can wear range ammy with void at aviansies. :D
  3. You might want to try barker toads. Polar kebbit fur is much more expensive for barely any more xp gain, and swamp toads sell quickly in the ge while there is pretty much 0 polar kebbit fur on the market.
  4. what is a clay ring thing?
  5. I would like extremes in the new wild anyways. Not really cause I pk anymore, but more so I can just laugh at any poor sap that tries to kill me. Chances are a welfare pker isn't going to have the cash for 92 herblore, so give me a huge advantage in the fight >:) Also, someone mentioned removing gravestones from the wild. They already did that with the corp area. I can't imagine it would be much harder to reapply the same code to the wilderness. But making it impossible to use extremes out there, i think that would be much harder.
  6. a full bank. You fill your bank with something so that the only open spots you have are for the stuff you want to bank. An easy way to fill it is to withdraw books from your POH bookcase, your entire costume room. Then, you have every bank spot filled and the air runes and pouches don't fit. You make sure you have placeholders for the other runes you might get.
  7. Quite a lot of the people posting keep saying that they don't want to die when they are wandering around the wilderness doing something. It seems people don't remember one really important aspect of the old wilderness. Most of the wilderness was empty all of the time. World 6 was Varrock wild multi pking, with small teams in lower wild, and larger teams out farther. World 18 was edge pking, single combat. If you were stupid enough to try to do something in the wilderness on either of those worlds then you probably would die, and that was entirely your fault. You go to some other world besides 6 and 18, and the wilderness was much emptier. There would always be someone in edgeville, or varrock wild, but nothing requires you to walk up to them and tell them "oh hey, im walking out to the wilderness and if i die whoever kills me will get a whip, some karils, and a dds." It is quite easy to walk along the edge of the wild out of sight before going in. Also, old wild, if you were in combat with something in single, pkers cant interrupt, and if you are in single and the person after you gets attacked, you have like a 30 second break where they can't attack you. Besides, nothing is stopping you from becoming a 3 itemer. Killing someone with dhide top and chaps, and a dds is simply not worth it. They don't lose anything, and you take damage. Yes, sometimes you got ambushed, but that was a rare occurrence. After a week, the number of people pking will die down. There are not enough people to fill the wild on every world and keep you from doing some clue or whatever you are trying to do after they move most of the reasons for going to the wilderness out of the wild. Really, the only thing that will change is you will get an adrenaline rush seeing a white dot, and you will have to call "Peace" and see if they agree. Nothing really that complicated or hard to do.
  8. With no set GE value, what happens to coinshare? I read the referendum and it mentions removing the upper and lower price limits on the GE. This would kind of constantly change the value of items. How would coinshare split the cash if the value is always changing. Or maybe we will get a better loot system?
  9. Protip: junk has value. Also, I'm pretty sure you could still just offer a stack of cash plus something like a stack of santa hats or whatever placeholder items you want, even if the result is over 2b worth of stuff. I could be wrong though- I've never actually had max cash before. Yeah, me neither. But I was working off of the fact that a blue is ~5bil street. And figure that becaues of junk, 5bil street works out to ~3bil or so cash which is still over max cash limit. That's just a rough estimate figuring in the price of junk, which ends up selling at like 50/50 or something right? Idk, its late, and I cbf to actually do math on xmas break. lol. Long and short version: If you figure junk as 50% value, 5bil street works out to be 3bil "GE value", or something like that, I think.
  10. I think everyone is going to panic and give me all of their stuff for free ;) probably not, but it would be nice. Perhaps at least some of the currently unbuyable stuff on the ge will become buyable. Lower partyhats and divines maybe? They'll all be buyable. The only reason anything isn't buyable is because the GE doesn't allow it, but with free trade the proper prices can be used easily. I don't think you can buy green red white or blue for max cash now, or crackers or wines, so I can't imagine that you will be able to buy them after this. Unless all the old stakers return and bring back a bunch of rares to flood the market with.

  12. The first article was great. I clicked on it and started reading, and then asked myself "who wrote this?" Then I saw it was Syzygy and I was like  I didn't know he wrote for the times. I liked the article though. Good story and nice point. Second article: Yeah, I dislike how castle wars takes so long. And I agree that jagex doesn't seem to play the game the same way all the committed runescape players play it. I mean even looking at their screenshots of new content, I have to wonder who the heck took them. The one for the dragon defender update made me scratch my head. Cyclopean helm, whip, dragon defender, dragon chain, nothing else? I always wondered who takes the screenshots, and why they have such strange gear.
  13. Where are you getting 237 slash attack? I thought max was like 184 or something.
  14. Well, I just dropped by World 66 Falador to see what was going on. 0 people were rioting. Nothing at all like http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Pay_to_Pk_Riot I attended that. There were around 2000 people standing in Falador. From Fally west bank to the party room, pretty much every open square was taken. And it stayed like that for a week. Kind of indicative of the general feeling of the players. To the people that say there should be a split vote: Having a split vote does not make much sense. Voting for only the free trade, or only the old wilderness would make you feel better, but would be kind of pointless. The reason for the removal of free trade, the old wilderness, staking, and all such things was to combat Real World Trading. If we were to get free trade back, then the reason for not having the old wilderness would vanish. Kind of pointless to keep people from dying with large sums of gold, if they can just give it to that person in trade. So as far as the reasons for removing free trade and the old wilderness, if you give one of them back, you get rid of the reason for not having the other. I wonder if staking would be included in free trade. That might bring back some old stakers, at least for a bit. That has the potential to lower some of the rare prices. I think a bunch of the old stakers used to have party hat sets and other rares. EDIT at above: The protect item prayer was designed for the wilderness in the first place. That is why it exists. It used to be a skill figuring out if you could sucessfully smite your opponent and get the drop. No protect item prayer would be more like the old BH crater, but the old wild had protect item and all that. Remember, this is about bringing back the old wild, not making some new unbalanced copy of it (e.g. statuettes)
  15. I swear that a year or so ago, that door only had the signs of armadyl and saradomin on it. Maybe i wasn't looking closely, but thats what I remember anyways.
  16. What I want to know is how you didn't have enough maples from MTK to get 99 fming. I mean, I have easily sold like 70k maple logs from there, and I still have tens of thousands just sitting in my bank. But if you want to DIY your skills, more power too you.
  17. for the first bit of GP, try picking up ashes in the GE and selling them. like 2.6k a load and only takes like 45 seconds to fill your inventory. After that, idk.
  18. Here is a nice one. Requires curses tho. http://forum.tip.it/topic/252251-chaos-tunnel-waterfiends-with-new-prayer-curses/ This one is for peity. http://forum.tip.it/topic/237763-75-crimson-charms-in-30-minutes-chaos-dungeon-waterfiends/ Good luck.
  19. We all know this and we all know that people are going to quit but we have decide to neglect these issues due to 200m in one skills being "almost insgnifigant" when 3B is needed for 200m all. 5b and it depends how much the times increase...if it goes from 10k to 100k /hr or something thiers no skills 10k/hr now tho lol Sure there is..if you use the slowest methods...(e.g. Runite ore) ;) The that is you training it slowly. You can get 10k/hour mining, but mining itself is far faster. I mean, by that logic, I don't have any xp on my account because I am not currently logged on my account training it. Mining the speed of a skill is always the fastest commonly achievable xp. Runecrafting is 65k per hour. Now yes, I achieve rates of 9xp per hour by crafting 1 nature rune an hour, but that would be kind of silly to even think about, much less mention.
  20. I recently sold over 1m shards in 1 go. You can type in the number you want to sell. Np Wow, thats nice. Last time I sold shards there, it was only 50k at a time. I wonder when they changed it. Been forever since I did summoning. Useful to know tho, thanks :)
  21. Umm, I'm pretty sure you can only sell 50k spirit shards at a time to that shop. When you hit the sell all option, it sells 50k shards back.
  22. so has anyone gone to fight nomad and figured out what style of attack he uses?
  23. Article #1: Meh, I don't quest too much, so the type of quests doesn't really bother me. I mean, I think its pretty hard to have quests that are not similar to other previous quests. I mean, what else is there to do for a quest? Maybe implement real time into the quest? Like: "Here, you are now in charge of 10 players from RSOF rants. You need to get them to provide certain materials at certain times for the next month, and you have to compile and present weekly status reports every Thursday at 3pm GMT your superior, who also has 10 people working for him. Oh, and if your orders get canceled, you still have to have the new order by the date it is needed." How's that for a quest objective? :P Article #2: I liked it. Props for putting something about drinking HCl in there, I thought that was funny. Fictional: Not really fond of cliff hangers, so I usually read them after a few weeks, when I can read them all at once.
