200M in all Skills
Wait I understood half that post. What do you mean he "traded" 200m dung xp? Rela rela5 agreed to not get 200m dungeon xp first, as long as Wisely Done gave Rela Rela5 a divine spirit shield for street price. Essentially, Rela Rela5 traded rank 1 dungoneering for a divine spirit shield. @zhow I think divine is somewhere around ~1.1b, give or take 100m or so. I am not too sure, you could look at the Partyhats/3rd age/spirit shields thread to find out more. I am not up to date on my street prices atm, but last I remember it was purple>divine>yellow. Oh I see. Well wow. I guess being 3rd isn't so bad... Wisely Done definitely got the better end of the deal lol. People only remember the first guy. Almost no one cares who the 2nd or 3rd is. Who was the third person to land on the moon? What was the second largest empire ever in terms of sq miles? [/hide] michael collins mongol empire 13th century Gotta love google :D Gratz on 108 dg btw.

Umm, you said DPS and CLS in the same sentance. Perhaps you don't know what DPS stands for. DPS = Damage Per Second Because the DPS is time dependant, you must account for the weapon speed. The rapier has higher DPS then the longsword, simply because it hits faster, even if has slightly weaker stats then the longsword. If you talk strictly about damage, without the time dependancy, then yes, the CLS hits higher. The thing is, excluding time means that you are only accounting for one hit of the rapier, and one hit of the CLS. And then, the maul would win anyways, because it has higher accuracy and strength then the CLS. It is only with a shield, against high defense bosses such as GWD, where the CLS is better then the rapier. You seem to allude to this in your second statement about making the CLS and shield stuff true. But as it stands, the CLS has less DPS then the Rapier for almost all situations. Jagex might change this at some point, but it is doubtful. Ever since Rs2 came out, the entire combat system of this game has been geared toward the faster weapons with lower power. Not something ridiculous like daggers, but scimitars have higher DPS then longswords, Whips have higher DPS then godswords, the MSB has higher DPS then the Dark bow. The Rapier has higher DPS then the CLS. Back before Rs2, everything was the same speed, and everyone used rune 2hs to fight with, because they hit the highest. This is not true anymore, because the game now incorporates speed into weapons, giving the advantage to faster weapons. It is possible to adjust the weapon stats in order to see which one is actually better if they were the same speed. Simply multiply each weapon stat by the ratio of weapon speed:weapon speed. For example, a scimitar hits 5 times for every 4 hits a longsword does, so the ratio of scimitar speed:longsword speed is 5/4. Multiply the scimitar stats by 5/4, and it will give you the stats a scimitar would have if it was the same speed as a longsword. I would like some new bosses though. That would be fun.

200M in all Skills
oops, I said street price by mistake in my earlier post. Meant GE price, which is about half the street price of a divine. I edited it in when i saw it. And tbh, I would have taken rank 1 dungeon instead of a Divine any day.

[hide]Okay, so you don't want to discuss the lack of updates beyond 80. So, let's talk about how many different looking rune armours we have the game. Keep in mind thats a level 40 item and the number of level 80 armour we have. Rune Armour Rune Trimmed Rune Gold Trimmed Rune Solid Gold Rune with Guthix Trim Rune with Saradomin Trim Rune with Zamorack Trim Rune with Zaros Trim Rune with Bandos Trim Rune with Armadyl Trim Rock Shell Rune Heraldic Set1 Rune Heraldic Set2 Rune Heraldic Set3 Rune Heradic Set4 Rune Heraldic Set5 Sacred Clay Armour Castlewars Profound Only sacred clay and castlewars profound do anything special. Everything has the same stats.[/hide] And, oddly enough, only sacred clay, rockshell, heraldic helms, and castlewars profound look different aside from a little bit of Palette Swapping. So... not sure what your point is here besides that Jagex has been doinitrong when proportioning unique items for low levels and those for high levels. I am pretty sure that is what he is getting at. I mean, we do have 15 different sets of ranger armor for levels 1-70, and nothing after 70 besides morrigans. And all of the best normal armor in the game requires defense level 70 and under. And the best weapons in the game are at level 80 attack, and even so, the whip is still 3rd best, and best non-degradable. So why is it that 19 levels of attack and strength have no good weapons, and 24 levels or more of defense unlock no more armor? Because Jagex has been doinitrong. My question is: why are we all arguing about it almost continually on a fansite board instead of taking our arguments to those who could actually change it? A picture is worth one thousand words. Jagex's feelings towards all the people who want things changed about the game can be seen below. However nice of a poster you are, that icon indicates the type of people posting in that certain place. The RSOF is hazardous to your health if taken in larger then miniscule quantities. And the icon also demonstrates exactly how much Jagex actually listens. [hide] [/hide]

@ Racheya Being a "high level" may not be the ultimate goal of every 'scaper, but you cannot deny that many people are "high levels". You may not aspire to have "high levels" either, and that is just fine. However, having "low levels" does not mean someone is more deserving either. If a player does not want to play enough to reach a certain level, so be it. However, it is just fine for the aforesaid player to also not be able to do things that require levels he does not want to reach. Does someone with 70 prayer and herblore deserve to use turmoil and extremes/overloads? No, they do not. Those items and abilities have a level requirement above what this player has, and if he want's to use them, he has to get there. You think low level content creates jobs? How much low level content is there? There is such a thing as too much low level content. Once you reach a certain amount it, it becomes impossible to finish while remaining a low level. Players don't continue completing low level content forever, they move on to bigger and better things. I mean, I am level 131, with 95 herblore, a decent bank, pretty good gear, and decent stats. Just a few weeks ago, I finally finished Clock Tower and Sheep Herder. 2 of the lowest level quests in the game. I never got around to doing them before simply because I never really needed to. By the time I even got to the city of Ardougne for the first time, I was way above the need to do those quests. The shear amount of low level requirements had already leveled me far beyond the need to do more low level stuff like that. My point is, the low level part of the game is already saturated with content, and in fact you now see jagex pulling low level content out, in order to fit more in (romeo and juliet, the tutors giving jobs, tutorial island, etc.) In economics, this would be known as a surplus, and it actually drives prices down. Adding "new" low level content does not actually bring more players into the game. There is already so much low level content, that any players who would be drawn into the game because of the content are going to be drawn in regardless. I don't really know why you brought immaturity into this, unless you are trying to insinuate something. But, you are correct. The only problem is that, using your example of range, there hasn't been high level AND low level content for range. We got black dhide at 70 range, and then we got karils at 70 range, and then we got armadyl at 70 range. In fact, from the levels 1-70, there are 15 different armor sets you could potentially wear. (black dhide and god dhide included as 1 set, since they all give the same bonuses) [hide] leather hardleather studded frogleather snakeskin green dhide spined sacred clay void blue dhide red dhide 3rd age black dhide/god sets karils armadyl [/hide] The only things after 70 range are morrigans, at level 78, and chaotic at level 80. There are tons of options for the low level ranger, you can even get yak hide legs, which require 0 range level, 20 defense, and are the best range chaps to wear from 1-50 range. There really isn't much content for high level rangers, but there is so much content for low level range, there really can't be any more, of there would be massive amounts of overlap. (even though there already is) Runescape needs higher level content. Jagex can't keep changing their low level content around ad infinitum.

Dragon Defender Discussion
Obviously ninja monkeys carry dragon boomerangs in their pockets. They just yank them out when in danger, and hurl them at their opponents. The boomerangs do over 9000 damage to multiple targets sequentially, ensuring that they almost all die at different times. for sweet weapons. OT: I really doubt the Dragon Defender will come out with the quest. I want it to be some sort of cyclops boss that you still need tokens to fight. Maybe single combat or something, and instanced, but with regular cyclopes drops besides the dragon defender so that people don't camp there to earn money, they just get some defenders to use elsewhere.

Waste not, want not
I lend items out when I am not using them. I don't do much with the rare market, so I don't own any santa's or masks or anything. But I slay a lot. Sometimes, I see some lower levels trying to finish their waterfiend slayer task with a D mace or Anchor or something. I normally stop and ask them if they want a Z spear for the next 2-3 hours. Pretty much all of them are delighted to have one, and it helps them finish faster.

Dungeoneering Shields Discussion
Doing that at castle wars seems like it would waste charge immensely. Idk how long it would take, but recharging a CKS every 10 games would be a huge waste of money. Assuming that it drains like the weapons, but also depending on how much damage you soak, it seems like it would break pretty fast when you are trying to get tons of people to pile you constantly.

120 constitution
I'm getting close to untrimmed hp, and then I plan on getting at least all 99 melees at the same time to trim it. I would HATE my hp cape trimming just cause I got level 100 in it before I get any other skill capes. for increasing the HP level cap.

"Life is too short to worry about highscores"
Why is the video full of stereotypes? It detracts from the credibility. Sound's to me like this guy is still blame shifting. He blames video games for his being overweight and divorced? I won't touch the divorced part, that's a different subject. But you become overweight because you eat more then you should. It is really good propaganda, I will give the video that much. But the constant flashing of pictures, the multiple video game screenshots, the little cartoon hand puppet, and the entire animation format is a bit far for some guy's confessional. He is an artist and an animator, and that video does a very good job of showing off his capabilities. The subject of the video almost guarantees that some people will take this video and post it on different forums, thus getting Brian's name (conveniently given at the end of the video), some online recognition. The story may or may not be true, but the video itself was made for reasons beyond being a cryfest of how bad video games made his life suck. --------- Why does he also put all these pictures and clips of multiple video games throughout the video, but then when you get to the grill, he has a perfectly laid out World of Warcraft disk set sitting on the grill alone? What happened to the rest of the games that he "showed" in the beginning of the video? And 7 days to learn both Spanish and French? Last I checked, it took far longer then that to learn 2 new languages. 7 days is about how long it takes to level from 1-80 in WoW.

Levelling Cooking?
Try salmon and trout. Both are pretty cheap. Then, once you get 50, tuna works pretty well. I would say fish your own trout and salmon, because it is so easy, and barbarian villiage with banking at edge is not too bad. Then, buy the tuna. At 73 cooking, switch to lobsters.

under a month Want to bet? No way it's going to be with one month only. Warped just came out. The xp rates are much higher, and the people with 200m atm did a huge chunck of their xp without warped floors. I would say that a month or so would be an accurate guess. At max prestige, you can now get like 300k+ an hour xp rates. Dungeoneering is a fast skill once you get 119+

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
You could trade red phat for a divine straight up. I'd do it lol. I'm pretty sure a red partyhat is worth far more then a divine. It might be somewhere around a divine and a green or yellow partyhat, maybe. I'm not up to date on street atm, but last I heard divine had dropped in street down between purple and yellow.

400 mill cape
That would be nice if you could note overloads or extremes. But what where are the rest of the pots you made? That doesnt seem like enough for 99.

7 Months to 200m xp for a brand new skill. Slayer just made it to 200m, and Rc would have made it a month or 2 ago. I wonder what is next, now that every rank 1 spot is locked up.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Hey Hey! I see my name. Gratz on 99!! Awesome. Rank 7 Smithing  Very nice! How can you have 12mil smithing xp gained in a week, and not be on that day record? The math adds to 1.7mil a day average.

What herbs to farm?
If you solo mediums, you could probably get 10k tokens in about 6 dungeons. Max out your prestige, and then reset and rush all but the last 5 dungeons you can do. Then, do those solo medium, or duo or whatever if you can find friends online. That should easily unlock a few more floors, and do those the same way you did the last 5. If you still need tokens, rinse and repeat.

Spirit Shields - They won't be beaten
I think the issue that most people have with the shields is that in the KB, it claimed 20% reduction on hits over 200lp (for the main style of reduction). Because there was nothing to confirm or deny this claim, lots of players bought them thinking they would be good. Then, it recently came out that this shield does not do this at all, or anywhere close to this. Instead, it has 14% damage reduction on all damage recieved past 200lp damage. This means that if you would have gotten hit for a 300, you first subtract 200 from that, and then the shield reduces damage by 14% of what is left. So you save a whopping 14lp, which is 4.6% total damage reduction. Even letting Jad max on you, the shield only blocks up to about 11.1% of the damage, which isn't even close to 14%, which is what your equipment screen currently claims in game. And that is the maximum they will ever block. Because essentially nothing else hits 980s, the average damage blocking you will get from using the shield is about 5%. And that is only against one style of attack. For bosses that use multiple styles, (GWD, TDs, and elsewhere) the averate % damage reduction is far lower. For those people that bought this shield to use, it does not even do close to what Jagex claimed it did. The small damage reduction is not worth the time it took to get the shield, and anyone in position to use the shield has many better options available, such as sepctral, arcane, DFS, and rune defender. All those shields are better then their chaotic counterpart, they are relatively affordable, and none of them cost any money to use.

Elysian spirit shield
And then the next person to offer for it, and then the next, and the next. Now that Ely street is somewhere around ~700mil (I think) a substantial amount of players are just GE'ing it. Also, after every update, the Ely street drops farther. When the street drops, more people sell in Ge, because it becomes less worth it to sell for street price, as that require them to obtain ~150m junk to sell it, or they would have to take a disk+junk+cash in trade or something. As Ely street falls, doing trades like this for Ely become less and less worth it, and more people will just GE the shield instead. It's not like just one shield will be sold on the GE either. Many of them will be, and if you get somewhat close to the update, you stand a very good chance of getting one.

9-Nov-2010 - Bank Op and Equip Screen Update (BOAESU)
Yeah, a 500 melee hit would tend to be reduced to 458. And chances are its probably just "up too" 14% still. Which would make the shields even worse. Honestly, to make these shields even at all worth it, they just need to double all the offensive and defensive stats on them. Make the C kite the single highest armor piece you could wear.

Gear setup comparison.
^ Ranting about ranting again I see. It could be useful, but for most gear setups, you only want to compare maybe 1 or 2 items, and the rest remain the same. I don't think it happens very often that someone has 2 totally different outfits and they want to figure out which one is better for whatever they are doing. Maybe void vs karils for TDs but that's about it.
