  1. you must talk to brundt, and you dont get lamps. He just gives you the xp straight up. In attack, defense, strength, prayer, magic, or range. Prayer is by far the best choice to use it on. You need lvl 75 in that skill to use the xp in it tho. It is recommended not to get the xp from brundt until you can put the full 450k xp on prayer.
  2. 900 days of playing time is less then 3 years. 5 years would be 1826 days.
  3. yeah sure.... what if player 3 actually meant the cut rubis player 8 sells? He gets locked up for no reason? What if one, only one slayer mod, is pissed on one, just one day and vents his anger on helpless other players? I'll tell you, player numbers would decrease dramatically, either out of protest or out of fear(of your money being wasted) apart from that your idea isn't even right. You base the whole thing off the assumption that nobody will break rules anymore in awe of slayer mods. But: If you choose only the best ones here(and you musn't choose any others, it's enough risk already) than you never have enough mods to watch everybody, and some of the offences(like botting) need more than one glance. This means a lot of players will get through with rule-breaking still, and therefore will continue with it. I would work very hard to become a moderator. I would be the picture of perfection. And when I gained the ability to kill people, I would camp sw0rd's spawn and kill him over and over. Problem solved :D
  4. It works exact same as genie lamp apparently.

The Dungeoneering resource dungeon in Taverly dungeon, near the hellhounds. There are 12 spawns, and it is multi combat, so you can cannon them. This makes them some of the fastest slayer xp.
  6. Ahaha, found it. So if it does degrade when you are getting hit, then by extension, if you are taking more hits in a shorter time period, it would degrade faster. The whole thread is here
  7. I'd be interested in proof of that, in my (albeit informal) tests, there was no discernible difference. I think Morionic (Grimy Bunyip) took his to CT dags, and sat there checking the charge, without attacking them. And it did go down. I believe he posted a pic of it somewhere on here. Might have been around page 6 of this thread.
  8. That is somewhat insane, I like it :D
  9. because of the increased weapon speed, does CR degrade faster then CLS?
  10. Spamming offends me. It looks like an auto typer. You are clearly offended that jagex did this to your account, and yet they did not use expletives any more then you did.
  11. uh... did you read what I said? Didn't say yours wasn't one of the few, just that bug abusers were ruining the accomplishment. Congrats nonetheless. Now just kill it while wielding only red flowers, no armor, veng, spec weapon, or familiar :P Then you win the game. But for real, very nice
  12. Oh yeah?? well i killed the Dragon Dragon 3 times, and it dropped 5 phat sets for me. So there! About mods, I know a good one, and I unfortunately have seen several bad ones. The one that sticks in my memory is a mod I saw at dust devils, heavily involved in a bicker fight about kill stealing at dust devils in the chaos tunnels. The type of fight that runs like this: "I was here first." "no, i was" "dude, just find a new world" "why dont you hop noob" "because i have been here for a while" "well, if you don't like me here, then leave or [expletive deleted]" And so on and so forth. For like 40 minutes. I could not believe it. Thankfully, I finished my task and left. @ sw0rd95, Jagex endorsed 06/06/06? No Thank You. Far to much power for one person. "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." - Abraham Lincoln "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." - Lord Acton, 1887
  13. wasn't the banned account with 1k days Uloveme? I think he got banned along with that group of people. Not sure tho.
  14. If the CLS does damage 114 times it has a maximum damage (according to your numbers) of 36,594. In this time, the rapier would hit 142 times, you claim it would miss 14, so it will deal damage 128 times. This would yield a maximum damage of 36,864 (again going off your numbers). So essentially what you just said is 36.6k > 36.86k. You are doing something wrong with your math, I'm just too tired to go find it now. Also, fighting without armor or any sort of boots is almost worthless. In the rest of rs, this does not happen. Also, the more boosts you use, the better and better a faster weapon becomes. By using a faster weapon, you effectively make use of the boosts more often. This is why rune darts or knives are so much better in kuradels dungeon. With a rune Cbow, you make use of the +40 a bit. But with darts or knives, you just make use of the +40 so so so much more. This is the theory that a large portion of the USA missle defense system works on. They use oversized gatling guns. The theory being, if you put enough high velocity chuncks of metal in the air around a missile, you are going to hit it, and missiles don't really carry enough armor to protect them from a small piece of metal moving between 5000 and 10,000 miles per hour in relation to the missile. The Rapier may have slightly worse stats then the CLS, but it uses them far more often, therefore creating many more chances for it to deal damage.
  15. Melee them, and wear higher defense armor. Back when I was quite a bit lower then them, i used torags body and legs, with rune defender and whip. Black mask or slayer helm is a must. Use super sets if you have them. They will help you hit, and allow you to tank the hits longer.
  16. Have you traded any wines recently? Oh... do you mean that zammy wine is untradable now?
  17. Awesome super long post [hide] tl;dr warning. Long post ahead. Wait, so let me get this straight. We need to do multiple experiment, multiple tedious experiments to get the facts? So we can't just take casual experience and use that to support our point? Thank god you didn't do that, otherwise what you've been saying would be controversial. Wait, but isn't that NOT an extensive test like you recommended? Maybe you didn't draw a solid conclusion from that though. You're smart. I know you wouldn't just take some casual observations, draw a quick conclusion, and treat it as a fact :) Right right, so let's really put our opinions aside and use pure science and raw experiments. This way, we can get a clear cut picture of how this is. Tell us then, oracle, how SHOULD we go about doing this? So you are an omniscient player who takes nothing into account except facts you know to be true because you have no only tested them, but recorded them and retested them repeatedly. Science is made for people like that. You're right. We can't rely on anything other than facts. Hearsay is too often inaccurate and we cannot trust it. It's best to leave it out of the situation completely and not mention it, because it leads to wrong conclusions, yes? But isn't that a rumor what you are using? Well, perhaps I'm not being fair. After all, you probably tested the Chaotic Rapier yourself, right? You did say: So therefore you would NEVER say anything about the Rapier that you didn't test yourself. Wait, but...you don't have a Rapier... http://services.runescape.com/m=hiscore/hiscorepersonal.ws You don't have 4m Dungeoneering Experience yet, so wouldn't that mean you only have one Chaotic weapon? Wouldn't that mean, one way or the other, you are saying something that you didn't test? Or maybe there is some strange method to test this that I don't know about. Maybe... Thank GOD YOU TESTED IT!!!! You tested a CHAOTIC LONGSWORD against a PRIMAL RAPIER??? And which, sir, was better? The Longsword, of course, right? Good!! Since CLS > Primal Rapier, the CHAOTIC Rapier MUST be worse! And you personally tested that? How sweet! And it was a controlled test and everything just like you said? Everything was the same? Same equipment? Same monsters? Same prayers? Same potion boosts? Same attack style? Same day of week? Same weather outside? "Variables such as attack style". I hope that includes the list I mentioned above, because if it didn't, wouldn't your "facts" be wrong? But...wait. You DID compare it to the Chaotic Rapier, didn't you? Yes! So you DID compare it to the Rapier. You saw how your CLS performed, then you saw how your peers' CRs performed, thus it's a fantastic piece of evidence! It's controlled and everythin...wait. "Peers"? PEERS? Good thing you were able to control your peers' playing styles, right? When you compared your performances, you were able to make sure they had the same gear, same potions, same levels, same boots, same ping, same hunger, same attention, same RL fatigue, same computer, same carpet, same lighting, same brand of coffee, and everything? No...I don't think you can base what you're saying off your "OBSERVATIONS" from how you performed against your "PEERS", as you have absolutely no control over how they slay. But everyone knows we have math to rely on. Math is a universal language. MATH SHALL NOT FAIL US! YES!! WE HAVE MATH!! WE HAVE NUMBERS! THIS MUST BE TRUE! [hide=Quote of Lep] Or you could simply say that the C Rapier is 4/5 the speed of the CLS. Therefore, if you multiply the stats of the C Rapier by 5/4, you will get a weapon with the same DPS as the C Rapier, but at longsword speed. Then it is very easy to compare the 2. C Rapier = +94 Stab, +78 Slash, +101 Strength CLS = +107 Stab, +124 Slash, +120 Strength (C Rapier) x (5/4) = +117.5 Stab, +97.5 Slash, +126.25 Strength Basically, the winners are: Stab: C Rapier (+9.8% over CLS) Slash: CLS (+21.4% over C Rapier) Strength: C Rapier (5.2% over CLS) I only compared the weapons directly, as the OP did. Adding in Bandos, fury, barrows gloves, dragon boots, neitz, and rune defender changes things slightly. (C Rapier) x (5/4) = +170 Stab, +148.75 Slash, +173.75 Strength CLS = +149 Stab, +165 Slash, +158 Strength The winners are as follows: Stab: C Rapier (14% over CLS) Slash: CLS (10.9% over C Rapier) Strength: C Rapier (10% over CLS)[/hide] YES!! MORE MATH!! MORE NUMBERS! Wait...these don't support the conclusion you drew. But...but...math doesn't...lie. How is that possible? How can we draw two different conclusions from the same numbers and the same debate? How can one math proof that's two sentences long with crude information EVER draw a different conclusion from a lengthy proof that takes far more conditions and much more data into account? What are you really saying? So this is good. You acknowledge that there is at least some grounds for debate. By admitting that the CR IS noticeably quicker than the CLS, you admit that you CAN argue that the speed makes up for it. You use this basis to propose the true question. That being the question. Therefore, you admit that the CR is faster, and that since it is faster PERHAPS it is better during many situations, it just requires more testing to confirm or disprove this assumption. And these tests have to be lengthy, yes? Not just a few observations of you at bandos and when you managed to outslay a few other people are Dust Devils? And they have to be controlled tests, yes? Not against any random guy you see with a CR at the same training place? Not a test with a totally unrelated circumstance in Daemonhiem? Whew, I'm glad we were able to establish a common ground so we can understand each other. And only then we can determine whether the Rapier's faster speed makes it better? Oh...thank god you cover yourself later on with this amendment, which I bet nobody saw. First of all, that's a bad example because: In addition, whip is roughly DOUBLE in accuracy AND strength vs. the DDS. But of course, this is Sparta TIF and we make good analogies here. The CLS has double the accuracy and strength of the CR, surely, otherwise we wouldn't make such a fallible analogy. But, you know, logically (in RL terms) that doesn't make sense. So I'd understand if you did think that daggers were a little faster than the whip to make the comparison. Fair enough. But back to the main point. We want to know whether the CR's speed makes up for the CLS's power. Therefore, we must determine how much faster the CR is over the CLS and whether this is significant. Therefore, we know just how fast each is, right? I give up. Isn't there some sort of easy way we can determine who lost this argument? Is that how we know who is winning? Right, sorry if I seem harsh. But I hope I've exposed the fact that you are being rather hypocritical, have no solid evidence whatsoever, and expect us to believe your point of view when you can neither argue for yours nor against ours. [/hide] Just one thing, the math you put in there, I originally posted that on the Thread. You can find the direct comparison between the rapier and longsword on the RSOF. Someone by the name of Warlock posted it. I did the math that included the extra bonuses you get from other gear. Page one and 2 is where you will find my posts. But anyways, awesome post, just awesome :D
  18. I used: Rune Cbow Ruby (e) bolts Neitz Fury Black Dhide body Black Dhide Legs Snakeskin Boots Zammy Book Ava's Accumulator Archer Ring Inv: 6 Super Restore 20 Sara Brew Uni Scrolls, Uni Pouch Familiar (Tortoise): 5 Super Restores 13 Brews. I did run out of Restores, with 11 doses of brew left. If you get a bolt spec after he freezes you, it can Unbrew your hp, so you will die. Be careful of that. I prayed Protect Mage for most of the fight, and Protect melee against his berserker mode. I also trapped him on the pillar to avoid some damage when he went berserk. If you die with barrows armor and it goes to your grave, you have to repair it. So dying like 10 times or more could rack you up like 1.4m in repairs. Just a warning, it is the reason I chose Dhide. The armor you wear doesnt seem to make all that much of a difference anyway. And, welcome to TIF a bit late DarkerFalz. Can't believe I haven't seen you post on here before -.-
  19. I must agree. Now we just need to get Zarfot, Jdelacroix, and Lan in here. And random question that popped into my head, since it seems some of the top players do come here. Does xp still register in your xp counter if you are doing something for which you already have maxed out the xp in?
  20. ROFL!! I am dazzled by your logic...'Renshae is...a complete troll..extremely ignorant..[and] wrong." Have you ever heard of the "scientific method?" what? So now you want perfectly executed tests which adhere to scientific processes, yet before you wouldn't acknowledge that the rapier was faster than the longsword? There has been no empirical data submitted on the speed of the two weapons. I have acknowledged that the rapier is a little faster than the cls. However, I have postulated that the increase in speed is not sufficient to overcome the higher strength and attack bonuses of the cls. The above controlled trials would answer that question. "Does the Chaotic Rapier's speed make up for it's deficiencies in attack and strength in comparison to the Chaotic Longsword, enough that it can inflict more damage per unit of time than the Chaotic Longsword?" As long as we are using big words for no apparent reason...... Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and Antidisestablishmentarianism. What? [hide] Or you could simply say that the C Rapier is 4/5 the speed of the CLS. If you are slashing, use the CLS. If you are doing slayer, where 90% of monsters are low defense with no particular weakness, and accuracy bonuses are minimal, the Rapier will do more damage over a set period of time then the Longsword will. More damage in the same amount of time is the same thing as more monsters killed, or more experience gained.
  21. lol btw check and compare your BHR to mine; then look up what clan I'm in...I don't think you wanna do that. So you are saying you are gonna call down your clan to help you with a 1v1 fight? Or is my reading comprehension twice as good as yours? (i.e. very low) I'm saying his bhr is top 200k and mine is top 10k. Don't need my clan: OMG you killed someone in BH!!!! no one has ever done that before!!!!!!!!! YOU must be GOD, and we should all bow down before your total awesomeness!!! CBA to edit me killing you into my chat box for the fun of it. I would expect you to just continue as you are tho, because of course you are the only one with any sense, who could even imagine that any one else's opinion my in fact be correct, and you might just be blowing steam. The idea is unfathomable. Oh, and not being fair would most likely be exactly what you would say when you lost as well.
  22. lol btw check and compare your BHR to mine; then look up what clan I'm in...I don't think you wanna do that. So you are saying you are gonna call down your clan to help you with a 1v1 fight? Or is my reading comprehension twice as good as yours? (i.e. very low)
  23. I know right, great amusement :D
  24. Well, this goes to show that the tone of posts over the internet can be taken in totally wrong ways. I was merely asking for your side of the story, and I got it. Thankyou. You read my post in the completely wrong tone. None of what you think I meant is true about that post. Also, I was not in any way trying to imply that you broke game rules when you did summoning at all. Let me clarify. I believe Jagex claims that they monitor account activity looking for anything unusual. For example, very long periods of being logged in, or gaining massive amounts of xp in a short period of time. If this is indeed the case that Jagex does this, then I would guess that they run a program that notifies them of accounts that are doing "out of the ordinary" things. Now, it wouldn't be good PR for Jagex to simply smack anyone they notice with the ban hammer, so presumably they would look further into things. If this is indeed the case, how did you avoid this. Did you notify Jagex saying, "oh hey, im gonna get lots of xp between these dates, its really gonna be me, dont worry" or did a Jmod perhaps turn up and talk to you for a bit while you were summoning? I was not implying that you were botting in any way. Merely wondering if Jagex may have thought you were, or if this wasn't a problem at all.
