What, the only thing that actually makes me skill at all (besides herblore) is quests! My total level would fail miserably if I didn't have to keep getting it up for quests. Like now, I'm going to have to work on RC again, if I want to finish up the diaries. Not my favorite thing to do, but I appreciate the fact that the game is well rounded, and not completely biased for one specific type of person. If everyone who played RS was the same, then I would get bored, and most likely leave to play something else. Keep the diversity

those are my year's end prediction, not the actual XP. Yes, I know. I thought there might have been a mistake. I did not realize that zarfot was gaining that rapidly on aasiwat.

The wording is not clear for this section of text. Upon reading through it, it is unclear what exactly Drumgun means. When you exploded at squisher for asking for clarification, it appeared that you thought squisher was in fact thinking that zarfot was claiming to be able to pull 300m/month xp rates consistantly. That you could even think squisher meant this suggests that, in your mind, there is reasonable doubt about how other people could interpret this quote. I'd like to settle this too. This whole paragraph looks clear to me, but maybe only because I understand Drumgun's mind better than you guys. His first sentence is sarcasm, like most of the paragraph, where he is "raging" that people only think his Overall records(created from stored Summon and Str Xp) are important and that the other 7 skills that he has #1 month(and sometimes week) records in on Runetracker are not as important. He goes on to comment about how Zarfot and Telmo gained the same amount of Overall Xp with fast Xp/hr as he got with slow Xp/hr in the same long-term time. This would mean that if Drum had done fast Xp/hr skills, instead of those slow ones, he could easily surpass all of their gains because his entire past was full of mostly slow Xp/hr. Also, he goes on to say that he managed all of those records and his whole Xp gain over the past few years as being CONSISTENT WITHOUT A SINGLE BREAK. He is upset that you guys don't understand what really should be valued with his achievements. His Overall Runetracker record is merely one of his records. His biggest record is maintaining 18+ hours/day for over 3 years now, EVERY SINGLE DAY. That is what should be respected, not some [cabbage]ty Overall record with a bunch of stored Xp and hard-to-calculate Xp/hr, and thus, time spent. So when Squisher went to comment/troll thinking that Drumgun was saying he could maintain 300m Xp/month, he had completely missed Drumgun's point. That is what this whole argument has been about. @Peregrin, I don't see where Zarfot comes into any of this except as an example comparison used by Drum. Hopefully, this should settle this argument and we can get back on topic. If not, you'll just have to wait for Drumgun to return to confirm what I'm saying lol. Yeah, i had been up to like 4am with i wrote that. Meant to say drumgun, not zarfot lol. oops double post my bad

Wait a minute, Zarfot at 2,440 mil xp? That would be a 160m lead on aasiwat. This seems almost impossible. Maybe you meant 2,240 mil xp? Sweet list tho. Thanks.

Lol, that instantly made me think of Minecraft. Me too. Then again, that kind of concept is part of why Minecraft is so good. I'd be all for defeating a boss using weapons and equipment you made with your bare hands. Isn't this called dungeoneering?

65-86 Herb
Super antifires are lvl 85, so no need to stew for them. 65m for 65-84 sounds pretty close. Super attacks are about 23.5 gp/xp which is not that bad. You could get cheaper, but only at the cost of making thousands more potions. Perhaps make enough super energies to use for spec restores before you make the super attacks. That might increase the cost of 65-84, but I think it will decrease the cost of 84+. EDIT: thats alot of claws from 319 TDs

I believe Racheya missed the entire point of Michael's thread. [hide=Stop calling names] [/hide] [hide=The point, tldr version in last quote] [/hide] A very good explanation, and FYI, the "efficiency trolls" are the group that will agree with you the most, as we've ALL been arguing this very point. You might want to be careful, your so called "efficiency trolls" might take offense at plagiarism. On another note. [hide] Here is an example of what I have seen. I was killing iron dragons when the elite clues came out. Someone down there, lvl 115 or so, had been there long enough to have the dragons stop attacking him. Here is what he said to me: Please not, this was the 4th time I had killed the same dragon, while he was standing there doing nothing. I had been killing the spawn next to it also. He was using full proselyte and a whip with anti-dragonbreath shield. I was using Z-spear with fighter hat, prossy pl8 and tassets, super antifire potions, and extreme pure sets. Is it really that much of a surprise that when you stand still for 6 minutes, and the monsters you are at are in single combat and crowded, someone else might move in to "your" spot? I was totally fine with him wearing his outfit, and killing iron drags (or not killing them as the case may be) in that outfit. But flaming me because you afk'd in a crowded area wearing second rate gear and I moved into your spot for a bit is annoying. Please note, I did not respond to him. I simply right clicked and added him to ignore, and moved on to the next open dragon a few seconds later. [/hide] This is just a few personal experiences I have had. It does not mean this happens 100% of the time, but it happens to me enough for me to notice a general trend. This trend namely being that it is not an uncommon occurrence for me to meet people who are not doing something efficiently, and by all appearances, not having fun doing it either. [/hide] None of the players on this thread who say they are efficient call anyone names in game, nor do they make fun of people for not being efficient. Actually, if is insulting you for not being efficient, they have no right to call themselves efficient. However, efficient players will correct you if you make a false claim, such as: "The Saradomin Sword is faster experience then the Whip+Defender" That claim is false, but I have heard it multiple times. However: "I like to use the Sara sword more then the whip." is a totally fine statement. From what I have seen, many people say the first, but mean the second. And they get upset when someone corrects them. What these people do not realize is that whoever responds does not have the ability to read their thoughts. They got a response based upon what they said, but they act like it was based upon what they thought. If you need an example of someone thinking he is better then others, go read Golvellius' drivel on the Efficiency thread. Also, basing a huge part of your article on the fact that efficient people call other people names, and then sticking a "oh, btw, inefficient people do the same thing" statement on the very end does not make it any better. A real life example would be raising your hand in class and saying "Hey, my friend here needs help with (insert simple thing here), so could you go over it for him? Oh, and I don't understand how you can apply the chain rule to this problem." That is what you said, but what everyone takes away from that is "Hey, my friend is incredibly developmentally delayed, he needs massive help." This happened in one of my classes, and absolutely 0 people in this class like this person now. This person killed any chance they had of making friends in this class within about 3 seconds. Everyone is rude, everyone makes many mistakes. Trying to provide for the inference that other people are the only ones at fault of this is both rude, and a mistake. The term is Hypocrite. If you are going to write a biased article, then make it biased. Don't attempt to fix it at the very end. Actually, Dane Cook has a whole section of his CD "Isolated Incident" that makes fun of people who do this. Make the assumption you are trying to get people to infer. Say what you think, don't sidestep around it and imply small things about it. If you are going to say "Efficient people are elitist jerks." Then say it. Don't follow up by saying "oh and so is everyone else." The mere act of claiming the former proves the latter.

No, actually your post was spot on. You obviously have a clear understanding what has been said. Most likely no one answered because you were correct. There is no point in engaging in a debate with someone who agrees with you, and understands exactly what you are saying. Good post  EDIT: Yeah, it's that second one. The one in parenthesis. Trust me on this one. Just ignore him. Don't respond to JHC. We answered all his identical questions, he refuses point blank to read the answers.

Well lets get started shall we. I do not know Obtaurian or Bladewing anywhere from on these forums. I have not even seen either of them in game. I got 95 herblore not because I wanted the cape, or anything like that. I wanted extreme potions and overloads. And then there was a bonus xp weekend, and I already had 90% of the supplies for 90-95 herblore in my bank. Proof read please. Now, before we go farther, THIS IS IN TOTAL AGREEMENT WITH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE BEEN ARGUING AGAINST! From the beginning, this is what Xpx, Bladewing, Obtaurian, Stonewall337, and I, have been saying. Bladewing has said from the start that he plays this game for fun. There are even some quotes of his in some peoples signatures floating around here that say as much. It really isn't such a huge mental leap to understand that if he plays this game to have fun, and if he enjoys doing things very quickly, then for him to have fun, he is going to do things really quickly. I believe he only told you this 2 or 3 times though, so you might have missed it when you quoted him saying it. In a nutshell, if Fun=Fast, then by definition, Play Fast=More Fun. Extra time is a simple byproduct. This is Runescape we are talking about. An MMORPG. You do not save time by playing an MMORPG. Rather, you spend large amounts of it for zero measurable gain. Obtaurian is making the mils he claims to make. He is also spending them. Buying items before levels is pointless, because you need to be able to do certain things before you can actually use items in the most efficient manner. It is pointless to use a Divine if you are 80 melees, with 65 defense and 70 prayer and super sets. At that level, the Divine is doing nothing more then looking pretty on your pixelated left arm. You are an efficient player, whether you like it or not. You got 99 agility in a way that maximized the enjoyment you get from the game. If you would prefer to get 99 fming on maples, because you love lighting logs, then do it. But Obtaurian does not enjoy lighting logs, so why should he spend lots of time doing something he doesn't like, instead of doing it the way that allows him to enjoy the game. (here's a hint, read: Had great fun, got 99 and didn’t try to kill myself doing ape atoll or wherever and having an ultra boring time.) Nothing more needs to be said. The rest is your own personal problem, and you already have the information needed to solve it. EDIT: Yeah, Troacctid, you are a wise TIFer Oh, and tyvm for the applause Obt. :D

Efficiency
Or this Quality, real quality fellas. I have to continually ask for proof because neither is forthcoming, and stating “I don’t need those” is being honest, not trolling. I must remember ‘I am efficient because I said so’ is perfectly acceptable so I can pretty much claim anything I want without having to justify any of it. Your claims to have done firemaking by magic logs are very suss too. Who in their right mind would take 50m and invest it in a firemaking cape when you could have invested that in a cape with much more kudos? Your combat skills are excellent but most of your other skills aren’t ‘that’ great. This seems to be the same case with Obtaurian below. You’re just not being truthful to try tip things in your own favour. @Obtaurian Apologies for my ignorance for 2 reasons. Firstly, for assuming you were after visage drops when the money was elsewhere. Good point well made. One thing puzzles me though, is that if you were raking in all these millions how come you have stated ‘Bladewing would make it faster due to his far superior gear’? These things just aren’t tallying up as you’re talking like you’re minted or money is so easy to get for you. Secondly for assuming that you’d actually practised what you preached and actually got 99 firemaking using that method. In fact, most of your buyable skills aren’t great, herblore excepted. Great preaching but please actually do it before you tell me how efficient you are. There is a difference between ‘could’ do it and actually doing it. I can make statements such as this but I’d be a liar as I’d never do that. You are right there is no point in giving me any more info as there’s not much you’d be able to tell me. Disappointing. Bladewing has not yet stated he ‘would’ spend this type of money on a skill either but he is in a much better position to talk about such things as he’s actually 99’d these things and you...haven’t. @Bladewing You have stated ‘my first post said that i am primarily concerned with speed’ and now you’re stating that your primary concern is ‘fun dictates my gameplay first and foremost’. This is why you’re not being clear, not me being thick. You chop and change your mind, just like your tag-team posters, to suit what’s going on in the thread. Looking at your stats you have taken the time to 99 many of your skills so at least you can put your money where your mouth is, unlike your two little followers. Be honest, did you actually 99 firemaking with magic logs and if you did at what cost? On a final note, I wouldn’t mind you calling me thick if I really was but this is another case sheer irony. At least be in a position to call me that by attempting to use correct punctuation and grammar. @XPX Efficiency and subjectivity can go together nicely, but not according to your original statements, which you clearly stated if we were not being efficient then that was it we were playing it wrong. You seem to have changed your approach somewhat since then and agree that subjectivity plays a major part. I agree. However, with the game the way it is now there are various methods to train every skill that should suit everyone. Jagex has done a very good job in skill variation for the most part that should suit most players. It should not really come down to a choice of blasting a skill as fast as possible because a player hates it, so they try to get through it as quickly as possible so I disagree with your stance on this. Your definition of true efficiency is true if applied to other areas such as jobs or machine processes but in a game it should take a second seat to the enjoyment factor of playing the game itself. In the end it’s you get out of it that counts. [/hide] If you knew what you were talking about, it might go farther to make your case. As it is, you come across as just blowing hot air. 1. Firemaking was an example. (probably a bad one for you, seeing as you seem to have trouble understanding things) 2. Quoting short snippets and drawing conclusions from them is a logical fallacy. You need to work on your reading comprehension. This will allow you to understand things longer then 4 words. 3. You said Although for all your nitpicking on verbage, you seem to have missed the fact that Obtaurian said it "would" be more efficient for him to use magic logs. This is the future tense here, implying something that has not yet happened. "You are an idiot" and "You were trolling" are examples of present and past tense respectively. Also, bladewing did say he would use magic logs, but you, in your infinite lack of reading comprehension, seemed to have missed it. No surprise there. 4. You said You insult them for insulting you. You are a hypocrite. 5. Obtaurian is easily able to rake in the millions at frost dragons. It is very easy. However, while Obtaurian has very good gear, there is a huge difference between very good, and the absolute best gear. If you actually knew anything about people on these forums, you would understand this. The difference between good gear, and the best gear possible is roughly 600m. 6. Again, you misquoted someone. Now this one is actually hilarious. You said But in a previous post bladewing says: And you actually misquote him later (surprise surprise) saying: So, you actually read his post, misquoted him, and now you cannot make the connections and follow his logic because you have proved your understanding of what he is saying is skewed and incorrect at best. I would maybe think you might be a politician, but they are far and away better at this then you are. So apparently, you have no hope of making it. Now, please do misquote me. The others will understand what I am saying, but I don't actually expect you to read this far, nor do I expect you to understand anything I said. As my expectations are low, you have the perfect chance to spend one game tick thinking about things, and suddenly it will all become clear. This would actually surprise me, as opposed to being boring and predictable.

I misunderstood your post. But yes, 300m/month xp rate is not sustainable. I am not the one saying it is. It appears from drumgun's post that HE is the one saying that. This is what squisher was asking him about. From your post, it looked like you thought I was saying 300m/month is possible, which is exactly what Jebrim appears to think that squisher was thinking. If I were to paraphrase drumgun's post, then it would go something like Drumgun: "I can sustain a 300m/month xp rate." OR "I can sustain the xp rate I got that month, not counting the summoning xp and zeal xp." Please remember, I do NOT think Drumgun can sustain the 300m/month xp rate. But the phrasing of that post makes it unclear whether DRUMGUN HIMSELF is saying this or not. At least until we have further clarification.

Oh look at that, you know about runetracker, you are so much more pro then anyone else. But again, if you bothered to read drumgun's post, it looks like he is claiming that he can continue to maintain those same xp rates. Squisher asked him if this was actually what he was saying, because that is the way his post is phrased. Go back a page and read the conversation. Then post something worthwhile. We covered those xp records like 30 pages ago, the week he actually set them.

200M in all Skills
so what your realy saying here is that you could keep up a 300m per month pace for quite a few months straight Stop being stupid. This is something I've noticed that a lot of people assume. A SINGLE RECORD ONLY MEANS THE MOST THEY'VE EVER DONE. IT IS NOT A PER DAY/WEEK/MONTH BASIS THAT THEY DO ALL THE TIME. It should be very obvious, but people prefer to think otherwise. Actually, squisher knows this already. But, if you were to actually read what drumgun said, and the context of the posts to which he was replying, then you might understand. And by reading drumgun's post, it does sound like he is saying he can keep up a 300m/month xp rate. Actually, if you read squishers post, you would realize that he was asking drumgun if this is truly what he was saying. Admittedly he forgot the question mark, but it is still fairly obvious that this was a question, not something that squisher actually expects. But yes, from the way that post is phrased, it looks like drumgun is claiming he can keep up the 300m/month xp rate. Whether this is actually true or not remains to be seen.

Camping for Clues, Overload use...
A friend of mine does miths, but I see you are tired of those. I've camped steels/irons, and it takes quite a while. Really easy, really boring. My friend has started trying to see if he could break his own record at miths, to make it more interesting. He was getting like 97 kills per trip or something like that. Maybe that will make it more interesting.

looks like a ddos. Except that he spawns in edge bank? hmm...... You can change where you Spawns after you finish the Nomad's Quest. And in a pvp world you will spawn in Edgville cause you can't spawn in SW. I don't do pvp much anymore, but don't you spawn just outside the bank, not standing in the bank booth?

Lan and Balmung pro have contributed to the discussion at certain times. We have also had Drumgun on here doing the same thing. Zarfot has posted once, so he knows about this thread. I think that's about it for people in the top 15 that have posted on here.
