Magic can still hit on melee people even if they have dhide armor or whatever as long as your magic level is considerably higher than theirs. Though it is true that magic spells cost alot (and on F2P it does cost considerably more than range arrows/melee weapons) I don't see melee people being able to teleport around the world. Magic does not have to be 100% combat. On F2P, one magic user might not beat some person with melee (mostly because of cast time), but a group of people can blow the heck out of a target without being touched. I seen it on clan wars. A bunch of magic people hide behind a fence thing and blow up like 5 people in the first 3 seconds. And then they would get rushed and stuff, but they could always bring melee armor/weps too and use that when fighting against other melee people
  2. Melee is probably most popular because it doesn't take any consumables, meaning no cost after buying weapon, and also unlimited "ammo" (unlike arrows/runes). But range / magic still are very effective mainly because they attack from distances. Jagex probably update melee more so it wouldn't get owned by range / magic. A person can run away from someone with melee weapon but rarely from a ranged weapon.
  3. If crush and stab is weak, don't use them. The weapon attacks seem fine to me, and I know stab really fails, but it comes from a shortsword, which is cheaper than a longsword (slash). Cheaper stuff = less effective. Crush attacks are rarely used. B-axe usually used for slash, but that's because the crush is a secondary attack for the B-axe, so it's less effective. So just don't use crush and stab and it won't affect anything. And you can also wear chainbodies without being stabbed to death by someone else since stab weapons are so unpopular :
  4. F2P is free, so a person can't expect too much. However, I wouldn't mind having the ability to post on RS forums, and a bit more bank space, and maybe even spears and more weapons for F2P. But I could live without that stuff. Don't expect too much from free things, most skills are already available and from F2P you can even get to 99 smithing level and make rune plates. Don't complain.
  5. I really think it is sad that so much people make these random easy passwords that can be guessed. Although that is sort of a good thing, since the hackers go for the super easy password accounts they are probably not going to go for mine  Although if one of them do go for my password I'm kind of dead -.-
  6. I don't want to know how much I spent but if I randomly guessed the first thing that comes to mind would be at least 3 months time, but no more than 9 months time. So I will just say 5 months time spent on RuneScape, but might be 6, but more likely to be 4. No idea, I never track game time so I don't worry about "overplaying".
  7. Probably both, luck when buying/selling and skills when using skills to get money. In my opinion using luck would probably give more money for the time spent (one offer on the GE) but if you turn out unlucky you can lose. You never lose with skill (can't lose money by chopping a yew), but skill does take time.
  8. Sometimes happens to me while buying stuff at the GE. Seems like whenever you click something it might mean a different command...And also sometimes when i press buttons in the GE my mouse kind of goes through the screen and clicks the ground so I walk to that spot. I hope the glitches on the GE are fixed soon...
  9. I would NEVER let it happen although if it did, i would probably slowly recover, the only think keeping me from quitting is the fact that my skills are still there and I would not let that go to waste, and they can help recover my money. And since I'm F2P I don't have that much anyway...
  10. Maybe 8k/hour. I know this person who lends dragon chain 20k/hour so a whip would probably go around 6-8k/hour... But it really depends on how much the person is willing to pay and how much you want ;) and 8k isn't that much money on members either..
  11. I saw it once before, but took no interest in it. It shows how many people got themselves killed, and the numbers were amazing even on regular worlds. I can understand it on PVP world but I still think people should be more careful about dying. :|
  12. When I started playing RuneScape I kept on training on level 2 goblins and increasing attack. I got to level 15 attack when a "friend" told me that attack doesn't increase max damage, which was what I actually wanted. First death was not in wildy, and I'm kind of proud of that : , except..... I got killed by a level 10 dwarf.
  13. I have 10mil cash and unknown value of random stuff. Not alot, but I'm F2P
  14. I think the G.E. is a great way to make money if a person knows how to use it properly. Hoarding items solo would be no problem, and I wouldn't even object to group hoardings that much. If the G.E. is there then a person can freely use it as they wish as long as it doesn't break a rule or something. If they have the money and power to hoard stuff then go ahead. It might unbalance the economy but that's what makes the G.E. interesting. If the prices stay all the same it gets way boring, and I'm actually glad there are people shifting the prices around sometimes.
  15. it would be very interesting if rs was a round world like earth and if you walk too far west you end up at the east side of the flat map. might want to add some more land before making the whole world circle though...and it would probably take some time to set the whole thing up..
  16. mm... maybe people get bored so they make a side account which only purpose is to raise skills for some fun. i personally dont bother with skilling accounts. kind of a waste of time..
  17. I don't ignore anything. RuneScape is not the "real" world, and so anything can be possible there. Why not accept some "crazy" things and have some fun during your stay in RS. :)
  18. Better for EVERYTHING, except maybe the economy as prices may change. I would prefer the slots to stay the same, a major update to 30 or 32 slots would kill the economy, and I don't like that, although I wouldn't go against 30+ slots either as after the economy unbalance I would have more space to use 8-)
  19. I wouldn't sell my account even if it was allowed. If I do somehow quit I would keep my account if I ever want to go back on it someday. :D
  20. LOL this is more proof that there are MANY idiots in the world. Ok heres one example i got today. I really dont want to be offending this newb because he seems to have no idea on playing runescape. I was woodcutting at the entrance to the ice dungeons (blurite place) which was a good F2P wc-ing place, but very lonely so i dont pay attention much. I notice this person following me: Newb: Teach me how to make fire Me: Uh.. Me: You get a tinderbox and use on log Newb: How do you get tinderbox ... Me: You buy one.. Newb: Where? Me:... Me: At a general store Newb: Wheres that? Me: Theres one in lumby.. Me: Teleport there (i wanted him to go away :P) Newb: Follow me to lumby and show me (im surprised he knows how to tele but not make fire) Me: uhh... i have to stay here to wc Newb: k.. Me: go north to store Newb: oh.. I was LOL-ing so hard while this was happening. Doesnt a person learn to FM during tutorial? Especially since the new one came out?
  21. yeah of course you can reach level 99 without trying. Just takes a loooooong time.
  22. played like 4 or 5 years.. i forgot, but it was a loooong time..
  23. Very interesting guide, I enjoyed reading it and finding maximums for F2P... although it says max music tracks for F2P is 139, but I have 147. somewhat confused :? ...(no i have never been member)
