  1. Pretty much balanced in f2p-in your dreams. All I see in f2p is Scimitars, scimitars and more scimitars, and the occasional battleaxe or 2h sword. I don't even see much rune longs.
  2. I was speaking of general good mining spots, not all mining spots. As far as I know, there aren't much good p2p mining spots (as zaaps said), probably the same number of good mining spots as the total number of f2p mining spots. And its COMMON SENSE that you should mine at the good mining spots unless you really can't stand competition, like to be alone or levels aren't high enough to compete. Therefore, the popular mining spots will have a lot of p2pers competing for ore.

Don't "bump" this thread, just let it die. Lol I'm doing it myself...
  4. Agreed. I think I should be adding a support list to see who supports Jagex looking through this seemingly redundant crush/stab/slash system.
  5. We are not trying to unseat the whip as the juggernaut weapon, we're just balancing them out. The demand for whips will not drop much, as it is still a very strong weapon that probably will have one of the highest dps even after the update. For the last two points, I agree. Some abbyssal crap shouldn't be the king of all weapons in terms of dps. It will be troublesome for jagex to remove the crush/slash/stab system, therefore we are trying to suggest ideas and find ways to balance it out without overpowering or underpowering any weapons.
  6. And what do you mean each pair is worth 70-120k? They're untradeable... 50 RC is quite fast in F2P if you do Body Tiaras. You need to have lots of money, though. So I don't think F2P Mage needs any more new armor. Runecrafter already has the defence bonus, and it is one of the finest in F2P. Add the anti-dragon shield, and you get better defence bonuses. If F2P were to get new spells, they shouldn't get new mage robes. Do you play GOP on a regular basis? 1000 tokens can be exchanged for 1k pure essence, effectively worth 120k in members worlds, in non members worlds, it can be traded in for water talismans, giving a profit of about 70 per point spent, and making it worth 70k. All mage robes give tiny defense bonuses, though thats not needed as its the attack bonuses that count, they need slightly (slightly) better armor in the way of magic attack, and snare and wave spells. Aside from that we all know how frustrating GOP can be. If mage had snare/wave spells, mages would dominate from level 70 and below. I'm fine with that. \ What about just wave but no snare? Nah, bind's duration is short enough. Back on topic, mage needs some kind of GOOD armor that ISN'T Runecrafter's set. Don't try to argue pathetically by saying that RC robes are good enough. Sure, they're good enough but I don't see any melee/range armor that can only be attainable by obtaining 50 smithing or crafting repectively. And 50 smithing and crafting are not easy crap to train either. Therefore, there is a need for armor that does not require 50 RC. Melee and range has armor that does not require 50 smithing or crafting, so why doesn't mage have armor that does not require a high level in a hard to train skill? Don't go and say "FoG armor you noob!" or anything like that. If you even spend a BIT of time thinking, FoG armor is simply NOT worth it. You have to spend so much time FoGing just to get some crappy druidic robes that DETERIORATES and doesn't give much of an advantage. "Increase the chance of binding spells to hit" doesn't give a MASSIVE advantage and is not even an incentive to recharge the stupid armor. I suggest splitbark armor, and POSSIBLY some kind of armor that requires lvl 30 mage or something like that.
  7. Guthix, if not bandos.
  8. Forgot to bring 10gp to get into al kharid during the freaking quest to not need to get 10gp to go into al kharid. Forgot my planks and nails during dragon slayer. I went back and returned with the nails and planks but I forgot my hammer.
  9. I'll buy full guthix and tons of runes for maging. 250M is a lot for a f2p player lol!
  10. There was this fool at hill giants using a iron dagger.
  11. I pick up every single coin drop except 5gp and below. I'm f2p, so monsters don't even drop a large variety of drops, so anybody with common sense will pick up coins in f2p.
  12. Wow. How bias. You don't know about p2p miners and you're criticizing f2p miners... like p2p miners are any better.
  13. IMO, the spec should be nerfed but its bearable now. Especially with Ye olde claws spec.
  14. I haven't, I'm just sick of arguing with compfreak, its a waste of energy.
  15. But I like debates :( ...
  16. If daggers were increased speed, then the dds spec better have decreased speed. Hmm... Maybe decreasing the accuracy of the DDS spec? :-k Or make it so that the DDS spec has a much less chance of poisoning opponents. I don't know, it should be ok.
  17. Want to do a survey to prove it? Ask 100 p2p and 100 f2p for 50gp. Make sure they're about the same level (lets say lvl 75 +-5 levels) and ignore noobs. Results? I bet it will probably be roughly the same, maybe slightly tilted to f2p being more selfish.
  18. I'm sick of arguing about all this crap about f2p and p2p. Its all because of that idiot howbadisbad that sparked off a huge debate that wastes space, time and effort. You win. I don't care what crap you say about jagex never going to update f2p in such a way that they won't gain money from it.
  19. I have learnt that you can walk into the king of varrock's castle wielding a huge maul, bloodstained armor, all sorts of weird jewelry and 28 pieces of compost (or any other smelly stuff). A ghost spills blood when you hit it. Ghosts are solid. (tink noise) A heavy scimitar is as fast as a light dagger. Even stupid monsters like deadly red spiders have a special sense whether you are double their "level" or not even though you look the same. Throwing a javelin at a enemy less than 1m away does as much damage as flinging it at an enemy 30m away. A moss giant is is better at dodging your attacks than a rat. You never burn someone, regardless of whether he is wearing metal armor or flammable clothes. Air is solid (air bolt/blast/etc.)
  20. It is plain obvious f2p is NOT less mature than members. Look at the RSOF before the update that let in f2p. Then look at it after the update. More/less spam posts? About the same. The more spam are MEMBERS immaturely complaining about f2p being immature and not paying and whatnot. Really, f2p players are not less mature. Its just the minority that are very loud and gets on your nerves. We remember bad behavior but forget good ones. I am willing to bet you if you don't have a skillcape and is of reasonable combat level, no f2p will care about following you. Or even if you are a high level, only 1/2 out of the maybe 50+ people that can see you will follow and beg for money. Sure, in p2p you probably will not have as many people begging you, but the community size is smaller so the ratio should be about the same.
  21. What about this, all the monsters there would also fight each other, and you can observe. Sort of like the tz tok jad vs chickens article.
  22. So what if f2p has all the characteristics of a demo? Jagex has already clearly stated that f2p is not a demo, but an independent version of the game. They make money from the member's game to update it. Nothing wrong with that. And why would Jagex false advertise if they're not going to gain anything from it? Do you think they're just trying to piss the members/f2pers off? Compfreak, you're severely underestimating Jagex as a brutal and heartless company set up just to make money. Sure, that is one of their motives, but they are not, unlike some companies who try to get as much money as possible by hook or by crook.
  23. Great idea. I think a special reward could be a ring/necklace/whatever that allows a doppelganger of you to appear for 1-3 hits, and it will always attack the same thing that you are attacking. However, it hits at a speed of 4/5 or any other fixed rate, so you cannot use it to rapidly spec or anything. It's max hit will be similar to yours, but it will not do identical damage. IT DOES NOT USE SPECIALS EVEN IF YOU USE THEM.
  24. Will you two just cut it out? If f2p mage is underpowered, who would want it to be that way? And don't tell me "you don't pay so you don't get updates". As Elusefelier has already mentioned, updates that balance out f2p mage will attract more f2pers to use mage. And if we give mage an incomplete spellbook or a spellbook that has a lot of attractive spells but the powerful ones are all members, f2p mages WILL think about subscribing to p2p, because of the dangerous/powerful spells/nice equipment/etc. Jagex should have more advertisements like giving some information on certain spells, for example "fire blitz max damage 30, a very accurate and deadly spell used for roasting opponents" or something along the lines of that. This will entice f2pers into subscribing for p2p. If f2p was just a boring game (like it is now), many f2pers will not think about subscribing for p2p as they are too bored about f2p. By the time a f2p player reaches lvl 60-70, for example, they probably wouldn't want to play f2p anymore due to the severe lack of f2p updates. However, they might not want to get p2p yet due to their levels not being high enough or whatever other reason. They might also think it is wasteful of money to train easy to train skills in p2p, and continue to play f2p. Therefore, they do not subscribe to p2p yet. And if they have nothing else that is remotely interesting in f2p, they will quit RS, making Jagex lose a customer with a VERY HIGH POTENTIAL of subscribing to p2p. And for god's sake, compfreak and howbadisbad, Jagex themselves mentioned that F2P IS NOT A DEMO!! F2p is an independent game, and p2p is more like a huge expansion pack. Therefore, f2p deserves updates, but I am not begging Jagex to update f2p like once fortnightly or whatever. An update, however small, to f2p once every two months or so would be more than enough. And huge updates can take half a year for all I care. I just want good and sensible updates to balance out f2p mage. What is wrong with that, I ask. And please don't skim over the whole thing. I know its long, it looks like a huge wall of text, and seems boring, but READ BEFORE YOU REPLY.
