Please. It's the year of UPGRADES, not UPDATES. Kindly search a dictionary to find out the meaning of this word. I'll save you the trouble though. Upgrade - To raise to a higher level or standard. Jagex did this, with all the small upgrades that solved problems lingering in RS for years. Other than fansites, Mod MMG also has his own clan chats. In addition, they have been posting teasers and information on some places like twitter or whatever (I don't use it personally, but the Tip.it Times mentioned it). Just go and read the Tip.it Times. I forgot the name of the article, but one of them was all about how Jagex has improved their interaction with the RS community throughout this year.

FAIL. "Dumbed down"? In your dreams. Runescape has become a game needing more intelligence to play, not a "dumbed down" game. So there are a lot of updates that make it simpler for beginners to start out, but all the quests are becoming much harder to complete, and there's much more things to plan and choose, like in clan wars, fist of guthix, even how you are going to skill, how are you going to train combat, etc. Its not getting "dumbed down". Though I agree that nowadays internet games are all getting "dumbed down" in general. Too many stupid and pointless "shoot the enemy before they shoot you" games. Runescape is far from it. Seriously, learn to use proper English. There isn't a word "dumbed down" or "suprises", and many other mistakes too. Why don't you just gtfo. I've played since the period of RSC transfer to RS2 and i loved the change. But many others didn't but are still playing to this very day on their RSC accounts! Yeah, there's no freaking sign saying "first come first serve". You can't outdo them, too bad. They also spent time getting their stats up. They might also have been "crashed" while they were trying to level up.

THIS THREAD IS POINTLESS. Skillers are pointless IMO, as I like training combat. But does it mean I can criticise them for choosing this path? No. But why must you rant about other people CHOOSING to skill? Its their own thinking, their own opinion, their own account? Will it affect you? No. If they boast, just turn off public chat or IGNORE them. You can have your own opinion about them. They like skilling, just as much as you like combat. So you can say SKILLING = pointless. Where in my post am I asking "them" to listen to me. I'm not posting on the RSOF am I? I'm used to being ignored by Jagex, after all I DO play runescape. My purpose in this thread was to evaluate the so-called year of updates, and compare it to what was promised vs what's is actually happening. In month six of the year of updates not much has happened. I like change, useful change would be even better. Also if you are a F2P player nothing changes much in F2P. As a member I have experienced updates that cause negative changes to the game. And that post you replied to was someone (haggisoflife) replying to my post... I don't think you meant to insult that poster? And fyi if you are replying to a post, do try to reply to the original post, and if you feel like insulting someone one or two insults work, just replying continously with insults isn't needed. I only read the first and third articles because I'm a f2p player. Both of them were great IMO. To err is to human. Nobody is perfect. Don't tell me you don't make a single grammatical or spelling mistake.

I care to disagree. I believe that (In F2P at least) Magic is not primarily used for combat, but instead used to supplement and make easier one's everyday goings in RS a bit easier. Take for example the most used magic in F2P, teleports, used simply to get from one place to another much faster, there's high alching; something used commonly to pro-long camping at monsters. Superheating ores isn't a terrible way to get low cost (or even profitable) mage and smithing experience. In fact, I would say that outside of Fist of Guthix, Magic is rarely used in combat at all. Also yes, it's true; training magic is F2P is quite useless past the level needed to High Alch and to teleport to all F2P locations. The only real purpose (in F2P) of training the magic skill to be be more effective when using it in combat, or when blocking against magical attacks. Do note that I am talking about Magic in F2P specifically. I respectfully disagree. Magic's main use is SUPPOSED to be combat, and it has a VERY VERY important side use, and that is to supplement and make easier everyone's everyday goings in RS. In recent years, however, magic has evolved (EDIT: devolved) such that the secondary use of it (though still important) has become like the main use, and also overshadowing it. This is due to the fact that f2p magic is useless AFTER lvl 50-60 combat and above and costs incredibly huge amounts of money for what it does. I think you mistook magic's main use to be to supplement and make easier everyone's everyday goings in RS. I don't blame you. It seems that the prevalent use for magic these days is to teleport, etc, not combat.

I agree that this forum seriously needs a specific moderator too. You're contradicting yourself. You said to LISTEN TO PLAYERS and see what they want, and stop wasting time making useless updates. Then you said, STOP listening to players whining, JUST go ahead and focus on a certain skill. What the hell? And threads like this are just replicates of the thousands of threads about this topic floating around in the forum. Admittedly better formatted and with some more valid arguments, but its still just a copy.

I think the point is that you'd still be risking far less. Well technically, yeah, given the correct circumstance and how much other stuff you're bringing with you. You'll have to bring a few shots worth of armageddon runes though, if you're actually going to pk for a while. And your target might also escape a few times and eat like mad before dying, wasting more of your runes.

Jagex already made that clear when they updated RSC to RS2. "Make up statistics"? Why don't you go and try f2p magic and see whether it is worth it before talking crap. Its not worth the price paid to use at all.
