PK is completely biased...
So, please correct me, and point me to the area of the KB that shows that snare does any damage at all? O.K., the guy keeps you from tele'ing, then what, annoys you to red bar by snaring you.....I'm not really getting it. snare does do damage, albiet very little, i believe it maxes at like 5 also, this is just proof the combat triangle holds true. maybe the warrior should consider dragonhide while meleeing? that way mage will splash (hopefully). in metal a mage will turn you into [cabbage] before you can say "peace" Seriously WTF snare does damage? ROFLMAO  And don't forget about those high lvl tank rangers with impressive offensive and defensive capabilities . :ohnoes: Low level/mid level rangers in f2p suck though. And by mid levels I don't mean 70-80. Mages DO NOT have the upper hand in f2p though...A pathetic max of 16, a crappy holding spell that gives you 2 effective seconds to run/cast a spell, crap armor, incredibly weak "curse" spells, etc. Ok, time to let this thread die. I already ripped all of this idiot's pathetic arguments and "evidence" into pieces.

Full support  Interesting and well thought out quest.

New Guilds and Reformation
Great Idea! Strange that I can't enter any guilds except the cooking guild. Not enough motivation, probably. Though I'm trying to get into the crafting and runecrafting (and mining) guilds... : Full support.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
That's not the scope of this rant. I don't much care if Mining becomes profitable or not, all I want is for Mining to have its dignity again. True. Who wants a money-making skill that takes INCREDIBLY long periods of time of grinding away doing pointless training JUST to earn some money. They are much easier ways to earn money (for members), and for f2p, getting 85 mining just takes too long.

PK is completely biased...
You're an idiot. All your points are complete [cabbage]. Let me tear them up for you. This is the only point I agree with. The combat triangle ISN'T fair. But not from your angle. Ha ha. Melee has got the BEST deal. Magic has got the RAW deal. I'll explain as we go on. Ha ha. "Powerful" spells. Godswords hit 2 or so times as high as the "powerful" spells you're talking about. And please. Mages stop you from moving because they have just about NO armor in melee. And bind effectively gives the mage 2 seconds to cast another spell. Which is useless. Mages take 3 seconds to cast a spell. So you can move freely for 1 second. And you'll be next to the mage in no time unless the mage is an idiot and keep casting binds. So there's snare. Effectively binding an opponent for 7 seconds. Big deal. The mage can only cast 2 spells during that period, and you'll be able to move a bit before he/she casts another snare. And snares are NOT cheap. Your stupid opinion is the one that's extremely biased. Mages are NOT sissies. They have no way to defend themselves in melee, so they have to attack from far. And unfairness? What [cabbage]. Mages get pj-ed if they farcast, and they die incredibly fast in melee. So what the [cabbage] are you talking about? You can't force people to not post. This is a public forum. You fight for the challenge. Mages do too. And they have FAR more challenge than you. They have to deal with the constant threat of pj-ers, who can KO them when they are unaware in a few hits. Mages HAVE to do that to win a fight. So what do you want mages to do? Get up close and suicide-cast a few spells? Fat chance. Firstly, refer to the stuff above on binds/snares. So you say you want a challenge and you're so "honourable". Then just let them teleblock you since teleporting is considered "dishonourable". Also, mages have a negligible defense in melee, so they binding you is fair. Their binds, teleblocks, etc IS THEIR defense. Holy crap, did you do some freaking research or not? This is how the triangle is supposed to work. Stop spouting nonsense. It's called SKILL. And stop [cabbage]ting about rangers being able to kill warriors, mages disposing rangers, and COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that meleers can easily kill mages too. [cabbage]. And I've already told you the reasons above. Crap. This has NOTHING to do with the new PKing system. And while they're wasting tons of gp worth in runes, someone comes up and kills them from behind with a cheap weapon. Ha ha. No mage will waste so much runes doing this. Other than that, you can just put on some ranged armor. And you're assuming the spell ALWAYS hits. It can splash, PLEASE. Summary? All his points are invalid crap.

Skillcapes - Advantageous or Disadvantageous?
So do you think skillcapes are advantageous or disadvantageous, overall? I will not put people who give one sentence answers into the "advantageous/disadvantageous/half-half" list. Why should they be put into the list anyway? Only if you back up your statements/opinions properly. And don't argue about this - this is my thread and this is the debate club "for players who want to participate in serious debates and discussions". One word/one sentence answers aren't "serious".

Mage Functionality
What about this: Lvl 1: 1 slot Lvl 20: 2 slots Lvl 40: 3 slots Lvl 60: 4 slots Lvl 80: 5 slots (requires quest) Lvl 90: 6 slots (requires quest) And the quest should be a tough one, a hard/master quest (p2p?) with high requirements. This way, most players will only have 4 slots, and only those who spend time doing the quest and training magic to high levels will be able to access more slots.

Sorry for detracting this thread even more, but why exactly does it matter if it dies or not? It's wasting the space on the front page. Let it die, PLEASE. Valid and well-thought out rants are getting pushed down and back so people can't read them because this thread is blocking space.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
Great thread! I got flamed to near death in another thread about the same thing, so I must warn you, be mentally prepared for noobs! Don't worry though, I'll definitely back you up. : Especially those who post crap like this. Firstly, there's no reason why ores can't be worth less. Don't whine about making less money/the skill will lose popularity. Is mining popular nowadays, may I ask? And woodcutters got by just fine selling logs. And sometimes you can get up to 20 or so logs per tree. If I'm not wrong, even if adamantite ore prices fall by half or so, they'll still be worth more than yew logs (or maybe magic logs?). And those who complain about "making too much money with rune ore" or whatever, ask yourself: Will runite ore prices remain the same although the effort required to train it to that level decrease? No. Fat chance. Runite ore prices will drop to a level where they reflect the effort and time needed to get it. Who cares a [bleep] about high level players? A skillcape is to show your level 99 in a skill, not how you got it. If I got to level 99 mining with a bronze pickaxe and tin ore, do I deserve more respect than someone who did it with a rune pickaxe and iron/coal ore? No. You can boast, sure, but who'd listen? Once again, great thread.

Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
Please...does anyone use godswords for crushing when slashing gives a +52 more bonus compared to crush? Hello... This is STUPID. Scimitars are as good as stabbing as a staff used as a melee weapon. Please use some LOGIC and THINK before you post crap.

Tip.It Times: 21 June 2009
I said that earlier in one of my posts. There is a difference between merchanting and price manipulating. Both use the GE, and both try to make money, but there is a very subtle difference between them. Merchants buy low and sell high, to earn money. It requires intelligence and skill in predicting the prices in the GE. On the other hand, price manipulators work to manipulate prices for their own profit too. However, they don't use intelligence or skill, they use sheer numbers of people and money to manipulate prices. That is why price manipulation is against the law but merchanting (buy low sell high-ing) isn't.

Mage Functionality
Full support! I like the scale idea a lot. It stops mages from being able to have the luxury of 6 slots at level 1, but also rewards mages as they get higher in level. Something simpler maybe. Lvl 1: 1 slot Lvl 19: 2 slots Lvl 41: 3 slots Lvl 59: 4 slots Lvl 75: 5 slots Lvl 85: 6 slots (requires quest) Lvl 95: 7 slots (requires quest) The last two might need a quest to stop it from being overpowered.

Actually, both have the same concept. Racism is basically stereotyping a whole group of people based entirely off there race. This thread is basically stereotyping every single person who plays runescape, and saying the have an IQ of 60. Sure, he may not "Mean it" when he says all Runescapians have an IQ of 60, but at the same time most people dont "Mean it" when they say that (insert ethnic group) can't drive/think/whatever. Yes, yes, point taken. Lets let the thread die now.

No, its not easy
Totally agreed. Totally. The money is NOT buyable. So of course, the skill being buyable doesn't mean its not to be respected. Really stupid logic. Every 99 should be respected...regardless of how hard or easy it is. The person has still put in a lot of effort.

Tip.It Times: 21 June 2009
There will always be people who love money, and I don't care if you hate them or whatever, you still don't have a right to criticise them. Merchanting isn't a freaking illegal activity!!!!!!!!! No, I'm not defending merchants, nor am I a merchant myself. Merchanting is basically buy low sell high. So if you buy two hundred pieces of land for $1000 each, and sell them for $1200 each, you ARE merchanting, so that's illegal? What the [bleep]? If so, many legitimate businessmen will be in jail for doing NOTHING wrong. [/hide] First off, name calling and spitting in people's faces may be excessive, but we do have a right to criticize merchants as much as we have a right to criticize anything else we feel strongly against. Merchanting isn't an illegal activity. Okay, I can give you that one. The problem is we've confused our definition of what a merchant really is since the release of the GE. Since the GE, merchants have become obsolete for the most part. Today's "merchants" have evolved into more of investors, and it involves more than just a "buy low - sell high" strategy as you are stating. Now, investors are legal. Technically speaking, price manipulation itself can be considered legal. If I see a greater demand in the market for yew logs, and I start cutting yews, eventually my stock hitting the market is going to stabilize the price of yews, even lower them. That can be considered price manipulation. When we are talking about merchants, and we are talking about price manipulators, we are talking about something else. There is another form of price manipulation that occurs that IS illegal. When the actions are both disrupting the flow of supply and demand, AND disrupting the value of a product, that is illegal. If the legitimate businessman you speak of began using the same practices that merchant clans are, you would see them fined, in jail, or both. The United States has several incidents very similar, one of which even managed to destroy the reputation of a President. [hide=hihihi727] [/hide] You're comparing price abuse to actual aspects of the game. Both the "dragon slayer" and pvping scenario you present involve competition, which is healthy both for the game, and the game's economy. The sole purpose of a "manipulating clan" is to ELIMINATE competition through cooperation to corner the market. It abuses the intent of the trade system. Individually, it disrupts players from wishing to make personal trades to get their needed items in the game. On a macro level, the trends of many prices look as if they are on a roller coaster, and the market will eventually lose stability if merchant clans continue to increase their activity. If we do wind up with stricter price gaps, or even set prices, you will be the one to blame. There is a difference between wanting some extra cash and pure greed. How much is enough money? 100M? 1000M? Maxed cash? Six piles of maxed cash? Ahem...look carefully at that person's post. He said if you're in a MERCHANT clan, not PRICE MANIPULATION clan. So there was no need to bring in price manipulation. And he still has no right to (fine, not criticise) discriminate/insult merchants. He's just a idiot who goes around throwing insults whenever he feels like it.

What are your thoughts on grand exchange merchanting?
There is nothing wrong with merchanting IMO. Its just buy low sell high.

Skillcapes - Advantageous or Disadvantageous?
I am assuming cumulative values... and as to the Ge most trade items: The last 30 days worth of trades and the median trades per day. In blue are the items which trade more cooked and in red are the items which trade more raw. To summerise, with exception of Monkfish, Sharks and Swordfish more raw material is brought. The overall totals are as follows: 54.7 Raw per day 940.8 Raw per month 42.3 Cooked per day 776.3 Cooked per month So over 12 Million more raw items flood into the market every(normal) day than do cooked items. Over 160 million more raw items flooded into the market in the last month, than did cooked items. (all figures only take into account the 100 top items, not EVERY item.) Trout alone trades 114 million more raw than it does cooked. So the figures support my arguement that more raw fish is traded than cooked fish, therefore more raw fish is required and produced than the amount cooked and sold. Hence, either everyone is now cooking their own food, a sharp departure from what I know to be true, or people are buying less food than is being sold...proving my arguement. The point we are trying to make is that there are not enough people buying food. So selling more does not equal making more money. Ouch...can you change the colours please...my eyes hurt. True...so now the argument is about the fishing skillcape spurring fish-ers to fish more? :?

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
Holy crap...I didn't know 9 years old were so ignorant and stupid... I would expect them to be more intelligent at least...I mean you learn where's west when you're 7 or 8... I started playing before 13 too, but at least I wasn't THAT stupid... Haha, I like to do that too  But I'll have to admit that your skills make mine pale in comparison.
