Mining Sucks (round 2)
Oh? "Think about all side effects when you make a change"? What about when Jagex was CREATING the FREAKING SKILL ITSELF? Re-read the freaking rant before posting crap. The point is Jagex messed up while creating mining. And I don't care about what YOU think either.

come one people help yourself a little
Very true. I hate beggars the most of all people. They're idiots who are [developmentally delayed]. I mean if they SPEND SOME FREAKING TIME training their stupid skills up a bit so they can earn some money from it, they'll earn FAR more money than walking around trying to gain sympathy from people.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
WILL YOU PEOPLE SHUT UP ABOUT ORE PRICES DROPPING OR WHATEVER? Please. Read the rant. People like I and the OP don't give a [bleep] about high leveled players or "ore prices dropping". The point is mining DOES not fulfill its role as a feeder skill for smithing. So cut the crap. If a skill/industry does not fulfill its fundamental role properly, it shouldn't be there in the first place. Mining is for smithing. Ore prices ARE WRONG. Smithing is incredibly difficult to get up to high levels BECAUSE of mining. Mining mithril/adamant is just TOO slow. All the spots are rare and usually far from banks, if not crowded with people competing for a single rock that provides a stupidly low number of ores. And if I'm not wrong, coal (definitely the most important ore for smiths) takes LONGER to respawn than willow trees (which require the same level in woodcutting) AND only give ONE FREAKING ORE PER ROCK...

Two different types of Cape of Accomplishment
Woah, easy man.. it was merely a suggestion. Essentially its all just pixels and It barely bothers me in-game at all ( just look at my stats now compared to when I was unbanned - u don't see me 24/7 power clicking ). Almost everyone whos achieved a 99 got it with at least a small intention of showing it off. So, for those of us who worked for it back in RSC - I don't see the harm in giving us a little bit more credit for that. Take for example the people who are suggesting an rsc cape.. its just smthing us peeps from the original want.. Edit: someone else whos achived a 99 from rsc come back me up, lol  So it's basically... "Waah! Waah! We got it the harder way! We want to be more recognised!" Sorry, but no. Frankly, the capes were added to show you had a 99, not how you got it. I could get 99 Woodcutting purely on normal trees, with a bronze axe. Should I deserve something special? Yeah, this basically sums everything up.

A use for 99 Skills. [Detail Added]
I doubt you could eat a whole whale in one bite...maybe 18-20 hp per bite (2 bites)? I don't know.. :?

Mining Sucks (round 2)
I don't give a [bleep] about those high level miners. Rune giving 500k/h is just absurd, compared to the pathetic amount of money earned by woodcutters. This update will piss those high level miners off, but who cares. They've been having this advantage for too long. It'll make ore prices crash, but they'll definitely recover after a while. It'll also make rune not as profitable, like it is supposed to be. And also, you're mining ores much faster, so you can get more ores to sell than before. (though the lower prices will kinda balance it out)

horsemanship?
I don't think there's a need for horsemanship at all. (I think this should be in the suggestions forum anyway) Apart from the HUGE amount of lag it will cause, think about what it will add to the game, other than it being "cooler"? Nothing much. Travelling at higher speeds is still slower than teleporting...

Average Runescapians IQ: 60
Lol, exactly.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
Rune is FAR better than the rest; its just so much better that its not worth it wasting time mining other ores when you can just powermine more irons to get to lvl 85 mining faster. Magic trees aren't the only reward for woodcutting, yew logs are good money too (at least for f2pers). Lobsters, swordfish, etc are all good rewards for fishing, aside from sharks. I don't know about runecrafting since my runecrafting level is 7... :? its just far better AT 85 mining: There, you said it yourself.

Its not f2p, right... -.- Anyway, being an f2p player, I don't expect huge updates like this... sob

Tip.it Times: 28 June 2009
All great articles this week! The big tease and skilling heights were good, but "Just let me play" is really a good article. We play RuneScape for fun, so why bother about other people saying what you're doing is stupid, etc. Just play how you like to. The did you know was interesting too. I thought the musician in lumbridge said you couldn't do anything while resting except talk... :? But most of the time when I'm at a bank I usually don't need to run anymore. Though I rarely gather raw materials to put into the bank though. (I usually powermine iron while waiting for gold, recovering my energy in the process, light my logs, and while I'm cooking my fish, I usually gain back my energy already)

Some achievement capes not that "special" anymore.
Rubbish. Impressive-ness and how "special" something is is TOTALLY based on opinions. Cooking can give 300k/h, but if you train it with shrimps to level 99 for example, and you find it an achievement you can be proud of, it is special. "Special-ness" is not based on other people's opinions/achievements. It's your own achievements. Don't listen to people who laugh at you because you have a cooking cape. All 99s are impressive IMO. You can have your own opinions, but I think the dedication taken to reach a level 99, regardless of it being an easy 99 or hard one. You still have to take a lot of time to get a level 99 in cooking.

Price manipulation: right or wrong?
If I'm not wrong, there's a difference between price manipulation and merchant-ing. Merchant-ing is using strategy and skills of predicting the economy as accurately as possible to buy low and sell high. IMO, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with this, and I'm sure many people will agree with me. Merchant-ing needs skill. Such that not any man on the street will know how to do it. Price manipulators use large amounts of money to change prices. They usually work in clans/large groups. I don't think its right, but it shouldn't be a bannable offence either. I mean, if they're willing to waste money to do pointless things like this... You have to state what you mean - price manipulation or merchant-ing. I know your title is "price manipulation", but there are hints of merchant-ing in your posts.

The Contemporary Spellbook
At a much higher cost... -.- And you have to bank often and fight for limited space near banks. Why don't you try making a spellbook yourself? And your own post has quite a bunch of spelling and grammatical errors. "Gonna" is not a word. After a comma, you need a space. Same for brackets. Not to be nitpicky, but I like this spellbook very much and clearly the creator has put in a lot of effort to make it.

No, its not easy
False. I don't know why so many idiots think a buyable skill is an easy skill. Money is NOT buyable, and its not THAT easy to earn money, especially in F2P.
-
PK is completely biased...
Time to let this thread die. The OP is too idiotic, and I already tore all his existing arguments up into trash. And he's not replying, so lets just LET THIS THREAD die instead of bumping it so it can waste valuable space on the front page(s).

Getting a 99, just for the cape.
Why care? Seriously does it irk you so much that some annoying snob is bragging about his cape that you have to make a rant thread about it?

Is Runescape worth it?
It depends on what you want. If you just want to have some fun, then play RS. So what if you "waste your life away"? What is the meaning of life anyway? Slugging away trying to earn a fortune and dying before you can touch it?

What's your level in (x)?
They're just trying to be social. I do this all the time while training, to start a conversation. Anyway, they tell you their levels probably because they assume you'll ask them. If you don't want to talk, then just keep quiet. No one is going to call you a noob because you don't answer or anything. They'll just take it as you don't want to talk to them.
-
When Noobs call you a Noob
You're calling them a noob because they call you a noob? That makes you just as much a noob as them.

Skillcapes - Advantageous or Disadvantageous?
Extremely true, but as demonstrated above the system cannot be tackled as it is. Like anything which fails to do good it is extremely difficult to fix the problem...take education for example: 'We have generations who can read, but do not know what to read.' How do we fix that problem? There is not the chance to fix that problem and the trashy books have already been published, so will continue to be read even if they are somehow fixed. The same is true for the RS economy... Now that everyone has 99 this that and the other there is no way to turn the clock back, to fix the markets. Any sweeping solution will lead to a completely new system, and it is unlikely to be a good one. But if we carry on as is we risk the economy will explode, but still people will be trying to throw more proverbial logs on the fire. Aye, quite right. It's far too late to do anything about this, and there's not much that could be done, even if Jagex didn't care about keeping the number of players they have now. Nobody is actually doing anything wrong, it's just that so many people are doing things that aren't wrong that that which was not wrong becomes wrong. Oh yes, I forgot to answer the original question. Yes, I like skillcapes. They're a good thing to have, the only problem lies with the players, as usual. I recognise that there's a problem, but I wouldn't want my skillcape taken away because there are hundreds of thousands of people not playing in the spirit of the game. They're metagaming, trying to get a certain cape because it's easy to get and it's worth the (comparatively) small amount of effort they've put in to get it. Changing the skillcapes wouldn't solve anything at this point, I'm afraid. True. It's already too late to change skillcapes to solve the problem. It just won't work, and will only serve to instigate riots/spam/rants on the forums.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
Well said =D> Anyway, consider this a free bump.
