  1. How dare they give away free XP. [bleep]ing [wagon].. Wait, what are we complaining about? Since they're doing it based around the new combat system, I wouldn't be surprised if the bonus XP is only applied to combat skills only, which would have the most minimal impact on the economy.
  2. Thanks to MageUK, we recently got our Scapeboard domain back.
  3. Spent Monday and Tuesday doing a mix of powerlifts, chest, triceps, and abs. Then today I ran 12km/7.5m through the hills around my apartment. About 2/3 the way through my run I was stopped by a guy that works for the water and power company because I was trespassing but he let me run through after spending like 10mins talking with him. Tomorrow I probably won't run more then 5 miles, but instead I'll work on picking up my average pace. Friday I'm thinking another 12km, but I may hit the gym and then run like 3 miles on one of the treadmills depending on how I feel that morning.

    Today...

I heard DisHonored is a great game, but short.
  5. I was planning on it, but probably something wider like 28mm or smaller.

    Today...

I feel old when I drink. I'm either wishing all these youngsters would learn to handle a single drink, or I'm wearing suspenders talking like I'm from the 20s, surrounded by other people doing the same. Young drinkers are always funny. They're always so ambitious to have a great time that they go way beyond their limits.
  7. Yeah there isn't a whole lot of differences between the t2i and the t3i besides a few minor added functionalities to the t3i, but I haven't found the t2i to very competitively priced which is why I'm leaning towards the t3i.
  8. Another though, has technology gotten to the point where it's almost harder to produce a video of bad quality because of how cheap and accessible HD cameras have become that the standard for video quality vs sound quality is much higher because of the accessibility of an HD camera?
  9. Half-marathon is 13.1, I actually hit 13.5 when I turned off my Nike+ running app, but yeah I totally felt like the those last 3 miles were cheated, the worst part is it dramatically slowed down my average pace.
  10. The vagueness was on purpose to spark discussion, and to force you guys to truly think about your answers. I'm investing in some new film equipment soon, so I've been doing a lot of research into the best camera/sound setup within a reasonable budget, and the biggest question I keep asking myself is, what's more important the sound or the image? Experience tells me sound, you can have the best looking film, but if your audio is shit, your video's going to be shit. When you're watching a video and especially a web video. 99.9% of the time the sound quality will never cross your mind because it's one of those things that if it's good and done right, you shouldn't notice it. Where as image quality is important, it's not as important as we really think it is. One of my favorite YouTube filmmakers is Casey Neistat, and one of his older videos is a great example of sound quality over image quality. If it wasn't for the excellent sound quality (and story) I don't believe I would have ever watched the entire 6mins of the film. Granted you can put the video into 720p mode, but I always watch web videos in the standard-def 360p.
  11. My legs felt really good today, so I thought I'd push myself and run 13 miles to see how my legs have come along since the start of my training last month. Things were going great until about half-way through the 9th mile where I found myself running up a hill, then another hill, and then another hill. It was torture, I completely under-estimated the grade of the course I was running and I paid for it. I ended up walking the last 3 miles home.
  12. There are a lot of factors that go into making any kind of video/film great, but some, often times go unnoticed until you have a reason to think about them, like good sound quality vs a video's image quality which is judged almost immediately upon hitting play. My question for you guys is what video quality is more important to you when you're watching a web series or just a random video online? Do you care more about the sound, or is the image quality more important then good audio? If you want, you can post an example. You can comment on other factors that make up a great video too like story, or solid editing, but my main focus is on sound quality vs image quality.
  13. All countries offer beautiful women, but I would say women from the southern parts of the Mediterranean often don't get the recognition they deserve.
  14. It's a horrible pitch for how much money they're looking to get. They don't even present a story idea or anything, the most detailed they get about the game is the presentation of the game box and if they raise enough money, they'd like to build two games.
  15. They remind me of these BluBlockers my friend used to wear, which were a little cheaper too.
  16. My first job was driving a green pea combine during the summer months between my sophomore and junior year of high school for a company owned by my family. It's kind of like a rite of passage that all the men in my family have done at one point of their life. In all honesty it was a pretty fun job, and the pay checks weren't bad either since we were racking up 60+ a week.
  17. In the future, these topics are best placed in the Tech & Computers forum and seeing how there is nothing to discuss I will lock this topic.
  18. After a little more then a year after making the decision I needed to make the move from Nikon to Canon. The reason I've held out so long before actually following through with my decision, was because I wanted to wait as their were many rumors Canon was finally going to announce the successor to the 7D at that big camera convention last month, but that did not happen as planned. Now there are new rumors (of course) that the reason we haven't got a successor to the 7D is because it's taking Canon longer then expect to develop it's new cropped sensor, but is now expect to be announced sometime next year. Needless to say, I'm getting tired of waiting, so I want to build a kit around the T3i body and a high quality, general purpose lens, with the long term goal of eventually replacing the T3i body with the new 7D successor when Canon finally decides to release it. The camera will be used about equally for photos and video. I've narrowed my lens selection down to a couple lenses and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with any of the lenses or just a general opinion on them would be greatly appreciated. lenses: Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD IF -The two Canon lenses are roughly the same price +/- $40 at $700-740 each (the L series lens being the more expensive) -The Tamron comes in at $500 roughly $200 cheaper then the two Canon Lenses, but has the advantage of a lower F-stop but no IS. -An advantage of the L series lens would be that it would fit any new Canon camera where as the others are specific to the APS-C sensor but it also has the smallest F-stop at 4.
  19. I watched Ghostbusters last night. Funny movie for those who haven't seen it.
  20. Between 4 to 5:30 in my town a movie ticket costs like 6 bucks. On regular days if it's 3d it'd be like 9 or 10 bucks. Wow, that's cheap. I can't remember the last time I bought a movie ticket for $6.
  21. The price for the book was another deciding factor for me. At least when you bought the Deadly Hallows, you knew what you were getting. WIth this book, you just don't know. Although if price has been the ultimate deciding factor for anyone, Amazon has had the book on sale for $21 and their Kindle copy is $18. Still not the cheapest book around, but at least it's at a more reasonable price.
  22. I'm frugal to a point, but I don't really believe I should go so far out of my way to save a few dollars where it then becomes more of a chore. I do prefer to ride my bicycle if I'm going somewhere within about 3 miles from my apartment over driving because it's usually more convenient and then you also don't have to deal with finding parking either. I also go for my bicycle too more so out of habit then anything. I grew up 10 miles outside my local town in WA so naturally anytime I ever really need to go anywhere that required a car, it was of a great distance from my house. I also buy items more so based on quality then price, believing that the better quality of the item, the longer it will last making for a greater overall investment like my jeans for example. I've also cut down on the amount of nights I go out, and how often I go out to eat for lunch. It's kind of amazing how much you save when you don't go out to eat, even avoiding quick options like Subway. Subway is great though if you want to be extra frugal and buy a $5 footlong and only eat half one day and then save the rest for the next. I'm also always on the lookout for free things to do, and living in Los Angeles makes this super easy to do, like next Sunday I'm going to this huge block party downtown feature A-Trak, Danny Brown, Chromeo and a bunch of other artists, for free. I also furnished my apartment with items I found off craigslist or got second hand from friends/relatives. I try to buy 50% of the music I listen too but I mostly torrent everything before I choice to buy as a way to preview new music. I've also started taking more advantage of Rdio and Spotify recently to listen to music I don't already have. I truly recommend them. Right now I prefer Radio over Spotify if anyone was wondering. Movies, I usually do a mix of torrenting, movie theaters, and buying used off amazon. I feel the majority of movies (and music for that matter) are vastly overpriced. I believe a person should never pay more then $10 for a dvd or $20 for a blu-ray unless it's some amazingly special box set or something. Not to mention the outrageous prices for a movie theater ticket. I don't think I've paid less then $13 for a movie ticket since moving to LA. It's crazy.

    Today...

How long is the warranty for the iPod? Apple gives a 1 year warranty on all it's hardware. Damn. My iPod started screwing up when they released iOS5, and that was more than a year after I bought it. I had some issues with iOS5 on my old touch too when it came out. The touch simply wasn't powerful enough to really support the OS but I had upgraded to the iPhone 4 at that time so it did really bother me.
