  1. No, they should not go ahead as planned. Yes, free players should be included in the high scores. Yes, inactive players should be removed but it should be after a fair bit of time has passed. At least a year, maybe more.
  2. Wait, what? Ezk, you been fraternizing with the members again? :P
  3. RL? Now there's a game you can't win.

So this evening I've been working at a site directly across the intersection from Scotiabank Place, where LMFAO is playing tonight. You would not believe the parade of people coming through here the last three hours. I haven't seen this much neon animal print spandex since the early 90's! (yes, I'm that old) I have to say, as far as music inspired fashion trends, this one is pretty tame. There's far worse things than looking like you're in an 80's hair band video. A few years ago I was downtown when Marilyn Manson came to town. *shudder* That guy in the dress still haunts my nightmares. :ohnoes: The only real complaint I have is about the girls dressed up not in the all-for-fun, need-earplugs-to-look-at outfits, those are fine, but the ones dressed like hookers in miniskirts and stiletto heels. Now, normally I'm all for these things, but I swear most of these girls can't be more than 14. If I ever have a daughter, I certainly won't be letting her dress that way. At least until she's old enough to get a job and buy her own damn clothes. Then I probably won't have much say in the matter. :P
  5. In Soviet RuneScape, forum moderates you. It's a shame to see that they're dismissing moderators simply for speaking their mind.
  6. So there's a higher percentage of free players on the foreign language servers? I wonder why.
  7. I'd wondered why you hadn't posted much lately. Glad to see you got your account back. :)
  8. Those numbers represent just how how out of control the bot problem was in the free game.
  9. Yet that's the part of the announcement everyone is talking about.
  10. The free players aren't being removed from the high scores until next week. The problem is that "cashier1337" doesn't appear on the list. Hopefully you didn't get hacked and banned.
  11. That's right, show off how long you've been around. :P Seriously though, it looks good. I like the colours you chose.
  12. The problem was that, while there are (were) many legit dicing groups, a lot of people were simply running a scam. My biggest issue with it was Jagex's ambiguous stance on the whole thing, stating that trust games weren't specifically against the rules but they violated the spirit of the game. Whatever that was supposed to mean. <_< Personally, I'm glad they finally took a stand on it.
  13. tbh, I haven't decided yet. With less than a million xp to go until 99 Mining I'll definitely be playing long enough to finish, but after that? Who knows.

  15. Heck no! If enough people quit I might actually be able to afford a white p-hat. :P
  16. Probably just said screw it when they realized it's not the #1 f2p game anymore. And if they keep going this way it never will be again.
  17. Until they fix them as well.
  18. That would be a huge mistake and cost them pretty much any new people who might be interested in the game. If there's no free game (or at the very least a demo), then people will simply try another game that has one. No one is going to start paying a monthly fee for a game they've never played. Exactly.
  19. They're using the low F2P numbers after the bot nuke as an excuse to cut the free game back even further instead of waiting for those who quit in disgust over the bots to return. If they had simply been patient for a few months, while continuing to make improvements, they probably would have seen the number of active players go up. Now it's more likely to keep going down. What are they going to to when a large chunk of that 18% quit? Start cutting back on P2P benefits?
  20. Unfortunately, no. They removed the F2P 1000 total level world during the server reshuffling a couple weeks back.
  21. I've been hearing that they just killed skullballing as well. Can anyone confirm?
  22. Except we're not talking about all the luxuries that come with the premium game, we're talking about a feature that has been in place since the game's inception. This kind of thing is a slippery slope. Now that they've started removing features from the free game, what will they remove next? Rune armor? The G.E.? Everything outside the starting area?
  23. Thanks Eco! <3: <3: But you better not wait this long before posting here again, you slacker! Unfortunately, any progress I make may be for naught before long. Jagex, in their infinite wisdom, have announced that they will be removing F2P from the high scores list next week. This means that my (and everyone else who's not a member) overall stat sig and progress tracking sigs will no longer work. Nor will any of the skill calculators here on Tip.It. It also means that any and all achievements I've made, or will ever make, in-game will be wiped from the official rankings like Kaida23 had never existed. :( I've not yet decided whether or not this will affect my playing. I understand that as a free player I'm not going to get the same kinds of updates that members get, but I'm hurt and angry that they've decided to start taking away things that we already have. I'm not going to lie and say I don't care about the high scores, because a part of me does even if I don't check them all the time, but it's a relatively small aspect of my game so it probably won't affect me in any large way. That said, it doesn't change the fact that it's a huge slap in the face to those of us who stuck it out through all the bots and RWT'ers over the past year. The bigger issue is that this kind of thing is a slippery slope; once the powers that be figure out that they can start taking small things away then they start setting their sights on big things. What's next? Rune armor? The guilds we have access to? The G.E.? Falador? When will they stop pretending to care and simply take the free game away altogether? And what of high ranking F2P'ers like Water? His 200M skill achievements and near maxed total erased. He's bound to be debating simply giving up, and I can't say I blame him. Others already have. Sonic has announced this is the final straw for him and he won't be back. RS lost a dedicated DG'er and good person today. Maybe I'm getting too worked up over this. Maybe Jagex will actually listen to the outpouring of outrage on the RSOF from non-members and members alike. Maybe this will never come to pass and we'll all be able to look back at this as nothing more than a bad idea that was properly shot down. Then again, maybe not. Before I go, I'll leave you with this thought: If so it is not dying of natural causes, it is being murdered. Someone call 911.
  24. Speaking as a member of said majority, my problem with it is that any and all achievements I've made, or will ever make, in-game will be wiped from the official rankings like Kaida23 had never existed. Nobody should be made to feel that expendable.
