EDIT: wheres the phong tag button? cinema 4d
Instead of illegally downloading the program and trying to shortcut your way through an abstract trendwhore tutorial, why don't you at least make use of what you stole, and actually try and LEARN the program. Do you even know what a Phong is?

Ninja Samurai Girl - FINISHED final comments thanks--------&
Love the drip in the background. Was about to tell you to add some stuff but I see you aren't finished. I'll save final comments for then, I guess. Looks really good though, keep it up.

(BANNER NEEDED FOR GAME SITE: (updated payment) )
You add the makers credit in public gaming magazines? You can hardly spell, what makes us believe this is any different from all the other people who try and make their own game... They all horribly fail....

The Knight. A drawing. Comments are welcome!
Interesting shading technique. One thing I would do is fix his right hand... To hold the sword in that position, the elbow would need to "pop" more.. Currently it's too bent. Nice shading/drawing/coloring/etc apart from that. As a side note, I like how your little text configuration. Good work.

Chihuahua... Another WIP.. maybe I'll finish this one...
Brushed in some cloth in the background and did some more hairs... getting boring, but it will come together once all the hairs are done.. Right now each spot that has hair will have about 3x as much hair as it currently has. Also you can see the reference on this one.

cinema 4d question
Select just the component you want and apply that material to it... I've never used C4D but I'm sure there is a way you select just that polygon. Once it's selected, apply the material to it, instead of to the whole object.

Thanks jabraulter, I wasn't too sure what "authentic" meant. Thanks for the comments guys, and criticism is most welcome. This is going to be the "bored at school" project... Nothing happening at work recently, so I've been toying around in XSI also... Have a few contest coming up and alot of other things... I think I'm working on like 7 different projects right now. >.< Fun stuff, but I get burnt out quick. I'll update this next time I'm at school and have time to work on it.

[Wallpaper] Falling Memories of Tomorrow
Ahh well if you made your own brush then more power to you. I thought it was something you had maybe downloaded.... I see your little angels coming out, but for some reason they just aren't catching me as much as maybe they should be? Maybe if you cut out some of the stuff between the two sides of the clouds and made them more prominent? For example, take a diagonal (top left to bottom right) 50px bar and delete anything it touches. Then mush those corners together. If that makes any sense....

[Wallpaper] Falling Memories of Tomorrow
The brushes look reall.... predictable? I guess is the word... Seems you used the same brush and I see it repeating alot... This is one of those things that "looks cool" but it also seems it might not have taken much time, given the right brushes... Concept could use work, needs a good focal point instead of that hardly visible planet.

I love the way this turned out. He looks angry at meeeeeee!
Looks nice. Clean. Although I will say that the background let me down.

Hand drawn animation. How!?!?
You need a lightbox. Just get a simple light and rig it to a box with a clear plastic top on it. Voila, home made light box. I suggest setting up a digital camera with a tripod and taking pictures of your images. Scans can vary depending on where you place them, and it's just too much trouble. The tripod will ensure that the images are all aligned right, assuming you set them up right when you are prepared to snap them... Hand drawn animation is really fun, I remember doing alot of them last year, along with some fun stop motion lego rigs we did...

Seal Siggy for Sale and Slander.
Looking at this makes me wonder why you waste your time with signatures... Please tell me you have a nice hi-res version of this without all that nasty text? I like the top one the best, the text looks good on it. Really nice work Col.

Airbrush contest.
Well I wouldn't say that smudging around some highlights is particullarly brushing, either.

armored woman UPDATE: LESS BLURRY, hair, etc@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Looks alot better, your next goal should be texture. You could work more on individual strands for the hair and plume, and maybe having a better texture on the leather boots. I think you could lose the bevel on the knife, a small well done highlight would be fine. Take a look at a dagger or something with a similar light source and just copy where you see the highlight. Also, I'd add some noise to the skin, it's almost too smooth. It's coming along nice, good improvements.

Need some help on a concept... UBER LEET PIXEL SIGSZORS
Well seeing as how you can't recognize the front from the back, it lets me know I really need to rework the design; which is something I had planned on doing, assuming lazyness did not find me first. Wyrm - There will be more ships, and more designs too. This is just one ship. I'll probably have a variation of it and then a few ships of the attacking army. I just need to model them first so I can figure out a good placement that fits with their design. I'm definitely going to try to stick with a more organic style ship design because; a) its easier for me B) it helps the theme. Although I do wish to improve, I think I should start comfortable, then move on to harder things. This is one in a series of concentration. I'll play with the steel look, if it looks too tacky I'll be sure to get rid of it. I'm trying to learn more about HDRI, which I think would be cool to use along with a shiny reflective ship, assuming I found/created the right image for it. I'll also probably do like you said and make it more of a thruster fire than smoke, I don't want to idea of crashing, well at least that wasn't the original concept. Tttia- I kinda like your idea about peril and no hope... but I'll play with it. Overall I don't really care about the storyline, but instead what will make for a better piece. I'll keep you guys posted on this stuff... have alot of free time at work right now, no real projects to do... so I've just been playing on Softimage trying to learn it better. (I still suck at 3d)

Airbrush contest.
People are just putting overlays on top the original render... What does that have to do with brushing? Maybe you should refine what you want. I was under the impression you wanted to see who could best re-create the render from scratch, by airbrushing it.

Airbrush contest.
All you did was paint right over it....?

Need some help on a concept... UBER LEET PIXEL SIGSZORS
The reason the ship is blue is because he is supposed to represent the good army... the good guys. I felt that a blue ship would best represent this. What I'm considering doing instead is removing the blue and the sparkles, and make it have a mirror finish instead. This would be alot like the Queen's ship in Star Wars, if you follow.. I was also somewhat liking the complementary color scheme... I dunno though, I'll play with it. :) What I'll definitely do is fix the lighting on the ship, and change the ambient colors to the warm scheme... The craters, and the buildings on fire will all be done, I just didn't draw it in the concept. The smoke blob will also be fixed, this is just a nasty sketch. He is going for the fight, it's like he just hit his afterburner or something...

I finally did it! *Finished Kinda* final comments thanks
tttia, the thing about yours is that your lines usually aren't clean. They have more of an artsy feel to them, running all over the assumed edges, creating that smudgey feel. If you clean up your lines, you can use those softer brushes and get away with it. Here's an example of clean lines vs undefined ones. Both of these are done with a brush at 0% hardness, and around 15% opacity. Hope that makes sense.

Need some help on a concept... UBER LEET PIXEL SIGSZORS
Ok here's the idea... the blue ship guy is from this planet... he's getting attacked by another alien army... (not shown) and hes about to get into a cat fight over by the explosion on the planet surface... Basically I just need concept help... move this here, move that there, use this color instead... Any help? The blueship is not the final ship unless I get lazy and decide not to model a good one... haha....
