I'll be joining in on the Diamondseekers server as well (assuming my internet behaves, anyway), so hopefully I'll see you guys there :) I did give my MC account to my girlfriend, so my new account's username is one that will cause a bit less confusion (link_olaran). She may also join in, but I'm guessing it's completely dependent on if I can get on, lol. In my current solo world, I have uhm.... Ore Redistribution and Airship installed for mods (nothing major for once). Ore Redistribution I think I had installed before (and commented about it on here) but the coding's changed a fair bit since then - ore seems to be far harder to find, but it's in larger chunks - the iron vein I located after about 4 days of stumbling through caves (looking for coal, so it irked me slightly) gave me nearly 30 iron blocks worth of iron (don't even know if I got it all, honestly), and after returning home in my snazzy airship, I started work on my underground base, and literally just after I finished one furnace/storage room and started on another... coal deposit. After using up about 15 iron pickaxes and filling an entire double chest of coal, I say hell with it, wall it off from my furnace room, put a door in with a sign that says "Endless Coal Mine". I seriously don't think the damn thing will end, I'm wondering if it's a glitch or not. At least I have nigh unlimited stock of coal for my base (and I suppose it's rather convenient that it's literally right next to (and under) one of my furnace rooms, lol. Still lots left to do, though - it's underground, but I want a skylight, but I'm also sitting under a frozen lake for the most part - clearing out the water was the easy part, but I still need to smelt down a crapton of glass and actually start filling in the empty hole I have walled off now. With any luck, I'll hit an iron vein somewhat close to my base, so I won't run out of iron tools (been using iron ever since that one vein of iron, lol).

*completely unfazed by the sight of two creepers* >_> Seriously, after playing on any Super Hostile map, that's practically normal, lol. At least you have a diamond sword, at the beginning of Legendary (SH #7), there's a gravel wall that, if you dig out, you reveal... something like six creeper spawners. This is in the "Humble Start" section, by the way. You probably won't even have a weapon at that point, so... have fun? :P Anyway, smartassery aside, I've been sorta working on my playthrough of the Sea of Flames (SH #1). Managed to burrow under the surface of the island to break all of the spawners (or so I hope). Half of the damn things were creeper spawners, at that -.- Still at least three skeleton spawners hidden in a stone spire in the corner of the island, but due to the fact it leans out over lava, and the skeles start pouring out of a hole in the side of it onto the only solid bridge to it whenever I go near it, the damn thing can stay there. I can probably turn it into a skeleton trap later anyway, I could use the arrows/bonemeal. It's not like we get an infinite supply of wood when we're on a tiny island completely and utterly surrounded by lava <.< Volcano was a tiny bit troublesome to investigate. Fairly sure I missed something, but after almost falling into a dungeon with yet another creeper spawner, I decided to just leave it be for now. At least I have the entire surface lit up now, so I won't get any more natural mob spawns to harass me. Plenty of saplings as well, so I shouldn't run out of wood, but I have zero bonemeal, so I should make what I have last until I can get myself situated underground, and hopefully find my way to the victory monument to set up a proper base there. Of course, now the only way to go is straight down, into either one of the helpfully labeled "Rabbit Holes", which are dark, and I heard a crapton of zombies down Hole #1. Probably isn't going to end well, knowing my luck >.>

Can't access login server
I was happily doing my first elite clue in months, too :( Probably would still be on right now, but the rs client crashed on me. First time it happens in about 4 months, and it happens after the login servers go down. Just my luck. Oh well, time for Minecraft. >.>

Terraria
Yeah, it took me an hour or two of trying to kill the Eye of Cthulhu the first time as well, but once you get his attack patterns down, assuming you have enough time and potions (and shurikens, assuming you're only in starter gear), you should be able to take him down. Very, very helpful to have a large flat platform to fight him on so you can dodge. The new potion/buff system makes it even easier - gravitation potion with a closed in large box so you can flip up onto the ceiling and down again at will helps a lot if you can control it. Ironskin and hp regeneration buffs are all that I really need, though - admittedly, I'm in silver armor and have 340 ish hp from the ton of heart crystals I keep finding, but still. Eater of Worlds and Skeletron will prove far more difficult than the Eye, so get used to dodging a lot - you used to be able to just lure EoW back to spawn and just suicide kill him, but since he flees when you die now AND can only be fought in the corruption, he's a bit more difficult. I personally rate Terraria as equal to Minecraft in how good the gameplay is, in my opinion. They're both slightly different takes on the same sort of genre, but both are extremely fun. Only thing I really dislike about Terraria are those god damned bats that constantly swarm me everywhere. Just enough health to be a nuisance, do a decent amount of damage, too small for me to accurately shoot them down with a bow, and somehow they're fast enough to ram me when I try using my sword occasionally. Very, very irritating -.- Oh, and of course they have different variations just about frigging everywhere, so you can never really get away from them, either. Other than the dungeon, normal surface, and desert, they're everywhere or there's a different flying creature that's even more irritating to deal with (such as eater of souls swarming in corruption).

Glad to help, Gio :) Since I'm a huge fan of Millenaire, NPC villages looks extremely appealing to me. Same with the adventure update, although I'm unsure if it's an adventure mode, or just a bunch of new items and things to help create more of an adventure type thing in the preexisting game. Curious as to what the NPCs will be, though. I don't recall Notch specifying what they'll be recently, but I thought I heard ages ago that it may be pigmen, goblins, or humans. I know I read goblins somewhere, but idk if it was from Notch, or if it was related to villages or not. I'm really hoping it introduces spike blocks similar to the ones in AdventureCraft that Peronix then modded to be used in normal Minecraft - did large amounts of damage, but didn't destroy drops (I think the AC version destroyed items, but Peronix's version didn't). That would be immensely helpful for creating mob traps. I should get around to downloading Phoenix Terrain Mod, but knowing how I acted with Biome Terrain Mod, I'd spend more time fiddling with the settings and generating worlds than actually playing >.> As for me currently, I'm playing through (or at least trying to) the Super Hostile maps again. I stopped trying on Kaizo Caverns due to my being too chicken to deal with skeletons until I got re used to combat in vanilla maps, but after I did that, I jumped right into Legendary, his newest map. A very bad idea, I found out. Let's just say I had a bad experience with a creeper, a sandfall trap over lava, and then got the [cabbage] scared out of me by 4+ ghast spawners hidden in a bunker, so I stopped playing. Headed to the beginning of the series instead, so I'm currently playing Sea of Flames. Quite a bit easier to deal with, although still difficult - I already accidentally activated a tnt trap on the side of the island which then blew a big chunk out of that side of the island, which then flooded in with lava (it isn't called a sea of flames for nothing). Just cleared out a bunker with (I think) two creeper spawners, a spider spawner, and a skeleton spawner in it. Looted the two chests, chuckled at the sign saying 'you should be valuing grass over diamonds right about now', and that's where I stopped for the moment. Trying to watch a LP of Kaizo Caverns by Zisteau - on chapter 47 right now, and he just posted the final chapter (50) today, so I'm trying to finish up to see what he's doing next. Really hoping it's Legendary, I have a grudge and want to see that map get obliterated now.

Optifog/Optimine was a big pain in the ass to get working for me, for some reason. I'm still not entirely sure, but it's the only one I ever used, so I'm unsure what else is available :/ I did only use the combined version of the two for 1.6.6, so maybe using one of the two separately would work? I'll go look and see if they're able to be dl'ed separate or not. EDIT: Took at least 20 min to dig up the topic for Optimine/Optifog for some reason, lol. I personally only tried using the combined version in this topic: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249637-166-optifog-and-optimine-f-hd-fps-boost/ And I had some issues with it - it'd work for a little while, but then I'd start getting random lagspikes. Looking at the fifty billion download links he has there, I can pick out a separate dl for both Optifog and Optimine, so maybe trying either of them separately will work somewhat better (plus it seems there's an alternative version of the combined version, which may work as well, I'm not sure. I can't really test since I've already updated to 1.7 >.< and this mod hasn't been updated yet. Shouldn't have been impatient with updating, I guess :/ (for reference, the version I used is the one at the very top, OptiFog + Optimine 1.6.6_F_HD)

Frede, I remember seeing that topic on RSOF months ago, I honestly thought it had sunk to the last page/deleted (of course, I had forgotten to bookmark it, so I could never find it again). Thank you for linking me to it, I'm going to give it another read to see what suggestions other folks have come up with.

Bugger all, apparently TIF didn't bother to notify me of new responses again -.- sorry about that, Fizzzard. I'll try to locate the link, but seeing as the Minecraft Forums are currently down, it won't do much good as of right now. I'll edit this post once I locate the link. It should hopefully be in my history still... Edit: Got it - http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/224048-creation-the-earth-updated-final/ Just a quick update on my own playing - my main base has progressed nicely, although I'm getting bored again. Decided to try out a wasteland terrain generation mod along with Survivalism (I'll give links at the bottom of this post). I'm only playing on peaceful, but that's difficult enough lol. Died of thirst on my first world, second world is going a little better, but I still have no source of food - since it's a wasteland, there's no grass. Anywhere. So no passive mobs spawning, thus no food. And very, very little water left, so no fishing. I did manage to locate two pools of water, so I technically have unlimited water for the time being, but I still need to find a source of food... the only food I've found so far was a loaf of bread in one ruined house (which I immediately ate), and 3 wheat in another house, which I still have. After that though, I'm pretty much screwed. Links to the two mods: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/386574-166-wasteland-mod-v055-smp-compatible-now-with-ruins/ http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/349163-166ssp-survivalism-v144/

When I was part of a Terraria succession game, I uploaded my save to 4shared - the only upload website that'll work with dialup, apparently >_> That being said, the common sites I see used are Mediafire, Rapidshare, Dropbox, etc. Any of those will work, although I'm unsure if you require a free account to upload or not. Also, Hugger, I may try and join your server, but I have no clue if my dialup can handle it. I could get on Diamond Seekers when that was still up, but that's the sole server I've ever been able to get on :/ That being said, I've started playing again, mostly due to Vechs' SUPER HOSTILE survival map series: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/191908-survcollection-%E2%98%A0-vechs-super-hostile-series-%E2%98%A0-6-out/ Easily the most difficult maps I've ever seen. Absolutely hilarious to watch some of the LPs for this (Zisteau's one of Kaizo Caverns is what I watch here and there now), but it's insanely hard to actually play. After trying both Sea of Flames and Kaizo Caverns myself, I discovered just how rusty I am with combat (Vechs recommends at least normal difficulty, if not hard, for his maps, otherwise you're a pansy and 'go die in a fire' (lol)). So, I started playing normally, although now on hard difficulty. I've grown too used to peaceful, so I need to get myself to stop being a pansy and get back into fighting again. Moreso since Vechs is releasing a 7th SUPER HOSTILE map in about a week (and yes, it's in all caps on purpose), and he has already stated it's his largest and hardest map to date. Personally, I'm nearly pissing my pants in fear of that statement alone, due to the sheer amount of... '[bleep]ery' (his word, not mine, assuming it doesn't get censored out) that was in Kaizo Caverns, his current hardest map. Only playing with a couple mods this time, though. Millenaire, Weapon Mod, Better than Wolves mod is it. No grappling hook, or minimap, or anything I'd normally jump to installing. Oh, and my texture pack of choice for now (DokuCraft). My base is coming along nicely - I had the idea of finding a hill, hollowing it out, and putting windows in it, and that sprouted into a pretty large complex (more due to the fact I picked what looked at first to be a small hill, but I sorely underestimated how large it was...), although a very empty complex. It's basically a big open room right now, with my crafting bench/furnaces in one corner, a patch of fenced in grass in another, and a couple chests. And my bedroom, which I fully believe is cursed, so I always switch to peaceful before sleeping because I keep getting eaten by zombies whenever I sleep even though I KNOW I've designed the room to be 'safe'. Going to start putting in some sort of support beams/pillars/rafters/etc made of stone and wood, to make it look more realistic - plus it should look nicer if I use the rafters to make a partial second floor for more storage or something. Lots of ideas, I just hope I can actually build it all... Also, I located a Minecraft map that apparently is a perfect replica of Earth's surface - and the map is absolutely [bleep]ing huge. When it's compressed, it's 442mb. Extracted, it's something like 3.5gb. I'm going to attempt to download it, although it'll take me a week(s) of downloading at night to get it. I'd love to be able to build in something this gigantic. It would make for an interesting server map as well, I would think. If any of you want the link, just ask, I'm sure I can hunt it down again (forgot to bookmark it, of course).

Yeah, very nice log here. You seem to have a better ratio for treasure trail specific loot to vyres cremated than I do, I only recall ever getting 2-3 trimmed or gilded armor pieces in the 1.5k vyre I've cremated. It's a shame they don't give better loot, since I personally enjoy playing temple trekking, and to some extent, cremating these vyre bodies. Hopefully Jagex gets around to revamping temple trekking and/or putting out the next quest and hopefully doing something with this miniquest/game/thing. Makes me think I should've kept a log of what I got as well, lol. Eh, maybe I'll go back and kill some vyres, see what sort of log I can produce myself. Ring of Wealth is confirmed not to affect this, right? I'm not sure if that would even be stated on the wiki, honestly...

07-Jun-2011 Deadliest Catch
Just going to quickly comment again before heading off to do something else. The possibility that Jagex may have finally done SOMETHING to reduce the number of bots seems too good to be true, but I'm praying that it is true. The lack of response on Jagex's part since the re-release of free trade on this matter is part of the reason why I'm not playing as much anymore. Anyway... The 'dragon shortsword' Neos posted. I would be willing to accept it's just red hot still, but... Look at the hilt. The crosspiece has the same color as other dragon weapons. Plus I'd expect if the sword were still heated up, it'd be more of an orange color rather than the blood red I'm seeing in that picture. Just quickly looking at existing dragon weapons, the longsword and scimitar seem to match, hilt wise, the best. I still could be wrong, though :P

*Paints Serp's nature ammy white before he notices they finally fixed it* Seriously though, I may log on and do this quest, even if only to get all quests done again. Plus, more Hunter/Fishing xp is a plus for me. Still need to do those Sagas, though... oh well. I'll get off my lazy arse and get things done eventually.

Is it actually giving an error message, and then crashing to desktop? Or even at that point, just closes on it's own (with no error message)? If it isn't, I'm wondering if it might be the firewall (or Windows' UAC thing) interfering with the update. It's certainly possible, since my own firewall bugs me about allowing some programs to access the internet just after they're updated. If it IS giving an error message, then I really wouldn't know what to do. I'm not much of a tech guy, so even if you had an error message to post a picture of, I wouldn't be able to make any sense of it :/ If you posted in the support section on minecraftforum.net, you MIGHT get a response that'll help. Big might, but it's worth a shot, I suppose. If one of the more knowledgeable guys answer (and I know there has to be some on there somewhere), they'd likely be able to help a lot more than me. EDIT: Went through ten pages on the support forum. Didn't find a solution, but I know you're not alone. There's at least one other person that posted somewhat recently who has the exact same error as you, Aeon. I'm going to bookmark that topic and see if anyone knowledgeable posts on it. Other than that, no one seems to know what the problem is. Or at least I haven't found anything.

Not even deleting all of the bin files and redownloading makes it work anymore (to Tim and Aeon)? Really strange :/ I'm honestly not sure what else to recommend, because I can't think of anything that could break it for that long of a period... maybe if Java was out of date, or if your main client was old (Notch did update with a new launcher a while back). Gonna do some digging, see if there's anything that could be causing this. I've nothing else to do atm, so I might as well.

Generally, only the newbie created mods (and just released mods by all people) won't have ModLoader compatibility - it's generally one of the very first things that are requested with new mods that don't already have that compatibility. In addition to ModLoader compatibility, keep an eye on what class files each mod uses - if two different mods use the same class file, and neither of them have a note in their topic saying it's compatible, just install this mod over the other one, or something similar, they'll likely be incompatible. Occasionally, some mods can function without having one of their class files installed (OptiFog, I think, is one), but generally, conflicting class files = incompatible. I personally find it helpful to create a plain text file that lists all the class files each mod uses, organized by mod, to make it easier to check for compatibility that way. Just some links to the basic utilities that Gio listed: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/75440-v166-risugamis-mods-updates/ (ModLoader and AudioMod) http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/91544-166may-27-lahwrans-mods-wecui-zanmini-guiapi-166/ (GUI API) Those are the bare basics. Only a couple mods here and there will require GUI API and AudioMod, but ModLoader is used by far the most.

Dizzle, I can give you some advice on how to install mods, but I'd need to know what you're installing first, since some mods have different reqs, and a couple are installed a little differently than others. I haven't been playing Minecraft lately, but I still remember how to do this :P As for the minecraft.jar, it's located (for me anyway)... Application Data/Roaming/.minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar You can fairly easily locate it by entering %appdata% in the "Run..." command in the start menu. I highly doubt Minecraft could run if you didn't have the jar intact, so it should still be there. If it was extracted and Minecraft is still loading with it somehow, then I could probably try to list off the contents of the jar so you can try to recompress it (although it'd likely be easier to just redownload everything, since the jar has a TON of files in it). Anyway, just as basic advice, a majority of mods will require at least Risugami's ModLoader, so you'll likely need that at the very least. If you have trouble hunting stuff down, I can help (seeing as I have at least 100 mod links in my bookmarks folder somewhere, but it's a horrid mess so I try not to look at it). Just ask me if you need help :) I'll be glad to do whatever I can to be of assistance.

TIF is bit over-moderated
So, we waited for 3+ weeks for the equivalent of a monkey on a typewriter to finally dig through the Jagex emails, and hammer out random keys until we get this in response? Somehow, I'm not surprised. This IS Jagex after all  I personally don't use scripts or anything myself, but my personal opinion is that Jagex is full of [cabbage]. But, not much you can do about it, is there? It's not like Jagex has the ability to detect and ban the use of these scripts anyway - if they can't even detect the hordes of bots on every world in every common skilling/killing location, then there's no chance in hell they have the mental capacity of sitting there to come up with a method of detecting the use of these scripts. I could say more, but I may get this post removed if I do. Quite honestly, I'm just as sick of Jagex as a lot of other posters are, hence why I haven't been playing much recently. Meh. I'm unsure what'll happen now, but... I hope things work out, regardless of what Jedgax [bleep]s up next. And yes, that was a purposeful misspelled taunt.

The two games have very similar starts and basic mechanics (entire world is made of blocks, all of which can be manipulated - ie destroyed, placed, etc), and has similar crafting (although you don't have to 'form' recipes to craft them on Terraria, just have the correct materials in your inventory and be next to the correct crafting station to make things - workbench for basic things, furnace for smelting, anvil for smithing, table with bottle for making potions, etc). Other than the very basics, though (and the fact that Terraria is 2D), they're very different in depth. There are boss fights, different equipment, etc. It plays similarly to what you'd expect of a 2D Minecraft, but Terraria focuses a lot more on combat, but still has the ability to build some fairly neat structures. I agree with Kim here - if you enjoy Minecraft, you'll probably enjoy Terraria as well.

There're several little fixes in that list that may mess with some of the little quirks we've taken advantage of in the past: * Fixed submerged boats rising very very fast - Boatovators are out, apparently. No more using a boat to go up waterfalls, I guess. * Fixed entities reaching water through wall corners - One possible method of a water elevator is now gone from this fix. * Fixed fishing rods being stackable - No more making two fishing rods and being able to renew the durability from stacking and unstacking. And of course glitch boosters :P I personally don't mind anything besides the glitch boosters, maybe. If the booster track is sufficiently powered up, it won't make a huge difference to me. The boatovator and water elevators I never built in any of my worlds anyway, and I rarely ever fish, so... :P Ah well. I've been playing Terraria more recently anyway, so I probably won't be playing Minecraft until a few of the mods get updated for 1.6. Even if I'm not currently playing, I still keep myself as up to date as possible, lol. I'm quite interested in the maps, and the tall grass (Notch-supported Wild Grass mod, anyone?)

Terraria
I got myself a copy, and so far, I'm getting the exact same vibes as I was when I first started playing Minecraft - and this is a good thing. I honestly had zero clue what the hell I was doing at first, I couldn't build a house at all, so I basically sat on my failed house and fought off zombies and floating eyeballs until I ended up dying - at which point I decided to actually read a short beginner's guide to it, and then it started getting a little easier, lol. I've died several times since then, though. One was the result of stumbling into the corrupted area, panicking when I started taking damage from something, then jumping into a chasm as a result and exploding into bloody chunks on impact with the bottom. Was hilarious, I'll admit. Others just tended to be getting into a situation where I was getting piled by waay too many critters at once, or getting cornered, or something similar. I've only gotten the guide and a merchant in my world right now, though. Both have fairly tiny houses, but I have my own larger home in which I have storage chests, a furnace and anvil, workbench, etc. Purposely left out a chair, so the building wouldn't be considered as npc house material, so I won't come back to some random noob moving into my storage area. Currently, I've left my small village of three shacks and headed out to the left (seeing as the right leads to corruption and likely another bloody, chunky end) in search of mushrooms, caves, and any copper and iron I can scavenge near the surface. Hoping to get enough money to purchase the miner's helmet from the merchant, but it's fairly costly for my current situation, lol. Overall, it's a hell of a good game. Extremely simplistic looking (kinda like Minecraft), but it's a lot of fun.

Combat xp can actually go a bit higher than 100k xp/hr nowadays - I know I was getting 115k xp/hr at LRC with turm/void/extremes while I was maxing my melees, and I was mining the corpses and banking all of the loot - inefficient I know, so I probably could have gotten far, far higher than 115k xp/hr. From what I've heard, although I have no experience with this spot, but zombie monkeys on Ape Atoll probably go even higher, due to the addition of salve amulet (e) alone.

Completionist Cape (Untrimmed)
I'm more of the 'OCD will complete everything regardless of shiny looking cape anyway' person to begin with, so I voted accordingly. If I ever get around to it though :P I'm a fairly lazy person, so it'll likely take me a long time to fully complete. In addition to this, I do want to complete a collection of other minigame type things - full set of each clothing from Trouble Brewing, Great Orb Project, etc. I don't know if I'll ever finish, but it IS an end game goal for me. If I ever do accomplish everything, I can't see me playing for much longer, lol.

Tip.It Times - 8th May 2011
(Second Third I don't know what number attempt to write this post without Firefox being an ass and deleting it, or TIF screwing with the bold/italicize/strikethrough buttons in quick reply and deleting it that way) In my opinion, and I'm sorry if I'm coming across as rude, but if you can't take or respond to criticism, you shouldn't have written an article to begin with. I understand that a large amount (if not most) of the criticism in this topic was outright bashing and flaming, but there must've been something that could be considered as constructive. I'm unsure of where my last post falls, I was considerably irritable that day, and I apologize if I came across as flaming. To me, and this is particularly the case with the Tipit Times, if you write something, you're going to have haters. There are going to be people that will bash your work because they disagree. There will be people who it seems that their sole purpose in life is to take your work and tear it apart, word by word. Does it suck? Yes. Will it stop? Probably not. Again, this is my opinion, but you'll never improve your writing unless you listen to constructive criticism. I'm not in any way saying this topic is full of constructive criticism, but there must be some in here somewhere. I'm also not trying to say that you're not already skilled - the article, from my perspective, was written extremely well. But, there were parts that rubbed some people the wrong way, hence the last... seven pages or so? Anyway, I hope the haters haven't scared you off of writing more articles for the Times. I doubt I'd ever be capable of writing an article myself, I tend to be fairly long winded, and I don't do well with deadlines :P I do hope you write more, though. I may have disagreed with your article on the points of Dungeoneering and Summoning, but it was a well written article.
-
Tip.It Times - 8th May 2011
Honestly, this is one of the few times I completely and utterly disagree with an article on the times. I don't even know where to begin, and I'll try not to come across as an ass or let any of my irritation show through. Construction: Nice to be able to 'customize' houses, but what's the point in customizing something that has zero use (to me) outside of the chapel, and portal rooms? Maybe for house parties, but this doesn't matter to me much at all. If I wanted to customize a house, I'd play The Sims, not Runescape. Hunter: Started horrible and boring, and at 80 hunter, it's only marginally less boring. Only use I have for it is Herblore Habitat. Summoning: If you don't use this skill that 'adds little to the game', you're severely gimped at pretty much every single combat situation, and still fairly affected at some skilling locations. Above posters already listed the usages for each summon, I won't restate them since there's little point. Dungeoneering: It belongs to no category because it's new. It's purposely created completely different because Jagex wished to create a skill that was unlike every other skill in existence, in Runescape or not. What severely irritates me is the phrase that states that it was created for 'demanding, shallow players'. I understand that this was worded badly, but quite honestly, it pissed me off. I've read through the Archaeology thread, though (I think, I may have read a different suggestion). This, I do agree with, if it were implemented correctly. I've always liked Archaeology, seeing it applied as a skill would be interesting. I understand you probably worded things poorly in this article, and didn't mean for it to come across as... I don't know, abrasive to readers, though. I also strongly believe you should have knowledge about the skills that you're talking about before writing an article on it, but I also wouldn't go off of your single account's stats like the above posters did. That's one account, there's no way of knowing if you have a different account that may already be maxed. Or, the more obvious fact, you don't need to have high stats to know what you're talking about (although it's strongly recommended, since reading about it pales in comparison to actually training the skill). My apologies if my post is a bit disjointed/rude, I was more than a little disappointed and irked about the articles this week. I dunno, maybe I'm just too big of a dg fan to be able to see your side of the story :P

Minecraft General
I did use the gunpowder reed mod for a while, but it feels really... overpowered, I guess? I only found the single reed after a few days of searching, but once I got home and got it planted, within a day I had an entire room full of the stuff because of how fast reeds grow >_< I've sorta gotten bored of Minecraft, really. I've given some thought to starting a mega project (doing the entire map of Link to the Past, maybe), plus I've been playing adventure maps (including one using AdventureCraft, which I was quite impressed with). Overall, I probably just need a short reprieve before I start playing again. I do this sometimes :P I'll probably end up being back to playing a lot again when the next update comes out, lol. On the other hand, I was quite fascinated with the Super Hostile map series - five maps all designed with the goal of survival in mind. Just with the difficulty set up to something that seems torn right from Kaizo Mario >_> I tried all five maps. I died at least once within the first day on each of them, and I was on peaceful. Mind you, I derp fairly easily with jumps sometimes, but still >.>
