Why would Zanik indulge Bandos' wishes in a abattle royale event? Wasn't the whole point of her questline to break free from his malign influence, for not only herself but her whole race? Hopefully that will be explained during the course of the quest.

I personally stopped playing casually about a month or so after OSRS was released to invest time in my alt account Dorelei. But even though OSRS has stayed somewhat steady in players it's still nowhere near what it was when it started out. I'm really hoping the free to play trial will attract enough interest (following their work in better botwatch for OSRS) to help change that somewhat. Yeah I know legacy is coming out for the live game but the OSRS still has a lot of charm to it beyond simple nostalgia. Has anyone here even tried the trial yet?

Can we get some OSRS F2P promotion?
Kimberly replied to Powerfrog's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
Tip.it is largely user driven. What you've noticed as a "lack of promotion" is simply a lack of user interest. There are few players here who actually play OSRS and as a result there are few discussion topics on it. It's definitely a massive jump to conclusions to think we're anti-OSRS -- this site exists because it's maintained by people who love the game. I'll post a thread shortly. In the future feel free to post OSRS things yourself, Powerfrog, nothing stopping you! :) Feel free to PM any of the moderation staff too if you need any help regarding forum threads, questions, or to possibly try arranging anything OSRS event-wise! (In the case of that last thing, @Stev the Moderator Leader or @Randox the Administrator would be great candidates to talk to.) Being a user driven site, users who take the initiative in things like this are what help shape Tip.it's community and keep it thriving. Please don't be shy about posting things like this or making more suggestions even if you can't help out in certain areas. I'm sure promoting OSRS could be a very fun undertaking, provided there are individuals like yourself who care about OSRS able to volunteer to post, speak with staff, and discuss the game in our Oldschool Runescape subforum... :) http://forum.tip.it/topic/273054-update-teasers/ http://forum.tip.it/forum/339-runescape-news/ The update teasers thread was created due to the Fansite Support program Jagex ran in order to display teasers for the game. That sort of fell to the wayside when we stopped receiving teasers. Now it's simply a place for users to discuss upcoming updates -- again, user driven content here. Just to make that clear :) I believe your other concerns regarding the Runescape News forum was already addressed by . -
New Moderator Leader: Stev
Kimberly replied to Randox's topic in Announcements, Rules and Security Warnings!
Congratulations Stev, you're going to be phenomenal <3 -
I'm not too bothered by this. It's what we've known for a couple of years now and it's good to see they've finally went ahead and made it 100% okay. But it's about time now to make it official. I know it's a big project, but this is something that affects every single player whether they choose to have multiple accounts or not. It warrants the time and money to address it and make whatever changes are necessary so users and staff members alike are all on the same page. Something like this shouldn't be left to rot on a forum post.

Dragonbane bolts are STILL t60, with a damage value of 576. So at least dragonbane bolts are unchanged from the last buff. And dragonbane bolts and arrows are all anyone would even use...So who knows what the hell they meant by their "buff". It has to be something hidden, you'd think, but ehhh.

Even if it doesn't escalate to dating, just at least start trying to get back out there with other people. I'm not so sure her boyfriend was the only tool in that relationship. Anyone who plays the "I'm still figuring things out" line is not worth the heartache while they get to lap up the drama caused at your expense.

12-May-2014 - Return to Ashdale & Choose Your Path
Kimberly replied to Youmu's topic in General Discussion
So will portable forges eventually have a chance to give protean bars like portable saws do for protean planks? Like portable forges needed more of a perk hah. Not a terrible week, new bonus exp weekly, new low level training spot. Not really useful for me but still okay. Wonder why ancient combat was removed from this week's batch? O_o -
Cleaned up a few posts that went off topic. Please try to keep it related to training, runetracker, top player progress, and so on without resorting to naming and shaming. Yes people have been flagrant and used popular bug abuse or RWTing sites but this really isn't the forum to discuss such things. PM me if you have any questions.

It happens in both versions because it's not a problem with either Java or HTML5 but how streamed audio works, which many people have suffered from since the audio update last year.

You know that's a neat video series. Enough to entice young people with the joyous parts of the role, give them a bit of information, what to expect. I'm glad Runescape made it on there.

Nope probably "bag of wind" that blows ashes automatically for you. Urs already convert ashes to prayer exp. While the item you suggests make sense, wouldn't they avoid overlap like that? Then again they did say like bonecrusher, so you're probably right. I wonder if they'll change urns as a result.

I think you'd only be confused if you are unsure of what the glitch is. It happens regardless of what modes or game settings you're running. It happens a lot and seemingly for no reason. What's the worst is where it gets stuck on one sound and just plays that over and over @_@
-
I'm wondering if the next item collector will be the much awaited coin collector. Probably not...but dare to dream.

Rod of seasons next pls Followed by the Harp of Ages. Pretty please! This month looks quite fantastic. It's strange though that the Ninja team has now become its own mini content development group. I don't think that's a bad thing since they are as good as the main groups are when it comes to content. I just hope that the projects that now land on their plate, like the master capes and dungeoneering update, aren't asking too much of them to make solid, sound updates.

[spoiler=As above] Joffrey's death? Not Tywin's? No time to watch the trailer yet, just commenting I genuinely meant the character mentioned but forgot entirely about where the show left off last. The purple wedding caught up with me quickly haha.

My thing is there really isn't a need for tactics if you're a human. You're simply clicking anywhere you want and gorillas easily get trapped because of how the pathfinding is in combination with your size. There's no need for a human to try to stay on the outer edges so the gorrilas constantly dip into the gaps as they pathfind to you and therefore fall behind. You can literally click like a madman and generally evade any gorrilla, at most only taking a few hundred bit of damage which is easily recovered by attacking Monkey Minions. 90% of lethal damage dealt is by environment which not only means that people have massive survivability but you also lose out on potential points for the gorrilla group. And because as you and GVT have pointed out that there's no penalty if you die early, it's actually better for your points per hour to simply log out and lose say 30ish points to gain 8min+ for another game (which thanks to instances are running 24/7). Being a gorrilla is supposed to be a disadvantage in itself to reward surviving, but as is half of the game is never played because it's just...pointless. Which is a real shame because it CAN be fun sometimes to play as the gorrilla team. (like when you have 2-4 people versus 5+ humans) Sadly this almost never happens.

Is that what that meant? Oh boy. I might just say goodbye to the extra crit and wear ring of wealth all the time now...

I know 99 cape redesigns would be cool, but there was never any intention of doing that so of course its predictable. Which is what I criticized shortly after the project was announced, and I certainly wasn't alone in doing so. 120 capes should have never been given priority over an existing redesign; instead they should have had equal priority and the teams working on them been given the resources they needed to achieve that. The project already went beyond the "quick win" philosophy held by the team and should've been put in the hands of the main content team instead, assuming that would've given their staff the budget they needed to do the job right the first time around. Hell if they did maybe they'd work with cape racks. '-'
-
So predictably, they didn't redesign the capes that really needed it most: 99 skillcapes...and these current capes can't even be added to your player owned house cape rack. Why wasn't the team assigned this task alloted enough time and resources for them to make these important things work? Just a tad bit ridiculous honestly.

Today we've got two updates for you: master skillcapes for XP equivalent to level 120, and a phalanx of your favourite combat updates, fresh from the beta! Read on for more information, or log right into RuneScape and try them out now! Master Skillcapes Earning level 99 in a RuneScape skill is a heck of an achievement, but for the hardcore that's just the beginning. Many of you enjoy earning XP beyond 99, and it's high time that dedication was recognised. That's why we've brought you master skillcapes, as promised in our recent poll. These beauties are available from their relevant skill master at 104,273,167 XP - equivalent to level 120 - for 120,000 gp: [hide=Expand to see skillcapes] [/hide] These capes are meant as an optional extra, so we haven't added additional levels to the skills, and their stats are the same as regular skillcapes. Nevertheless, there's no better way to show off your true mastery of RuneScape than rocking up in one of these capes. Note that master skillcapes do not come with a separate hood, and that they cannot be stored in a player-owned house. We hope you enjoy training for and collecting these capes. As always, let us know what you think over on the forums. ~The RuneScape Ninja Team Combat Improvements A few of your favourites from the Combat Beta and recent polls have made their way into the live game today: The quick inventory slots on the action bar have been replaced with two additional action bar slots. The target info pane displayed above your target is now more accurate, and the pane can be moved freely around the screen.Chat can be toggled to 'always on' by clicking the new icon at the top of any chat channel interface. This disables all keybinds (with the exception of the Escape key) and makes the chat entry field active by default.Combat XP is now rewarded for PvP combat:If you kill an opponent, you earn XP based upon the damage you dealt, as long as you are in the top 16 damage dealers to that playerIf you are killed, you earn XP based on damage you've dealt to up to 16 players, who haven't since died and granted you XP that way.Note that this is active immediately and cannot be turned off. If you do not wish to earn Combat XP, be sure not to deal damage to other players - ensure that the Auto-Retaliate function is turned off if you're in a PvP-enabled area.We hope you enjoy these updates. We always need your help over on the Combat Beta, though, so please keep trying it out and giving us your feedback on the forums. It feels like although damage is scaled, healing is not (or at least not to the point where it's actually noticeable) I find that mildly frustrating. Also it's super easy to get stuck on corners since your gorrila occupies such a large space. I feel like the rooms should've been just a little bit larger - enough that you could still tank on a pillar but not enough that you're CONSTANTLY stuck on things. Tactical movement should be rewarded, but not handed to a person on a silver platter. <_< I also think that, without any buffs, players do too much damage on monkey minions. They should be encouraged for piling but dish out range damage comparable to cabbage cauldrons. As of right now they're basically free heals and points since gorrilas can be so slow and outnumbered if there's not a lot of people playing. I dunno. Just some first impressions on playing the game.
