I can't very well grab you by the shirt and have you talk to my former clanmates, of who only sticks around for the wars and their clan's individual community. And I certainly can't go back in time through the 4 years I've been in clans to have you speak with the individuals I've met over time who stuck around just for the wars and played things like WoW--not for a change of pace but because they enjoyed the overall game more and got a better value for their money. You can think that these people are playing other games, not because of flaws in the F2P and P2P models, but because they simply wanted a 'change'. You might even be right. Lord knows, I have no documentation to prove anything and neither do you. But clinging to that belief and denying the problems, not understanding why people get upset, and then calling it into question as a way to defend your beliefs...it doesn't get you anywhere. "Fingerwagging" and all, even I can see that's poor form.

The moment they would even attempt such a thing, 4-6 trusted websites would turn into thousands of thousands of individuals spreading the information. It's clearly not viable. If anything, the recent Jiblix issue should have confirmed that fact at how lightning quick the group-thinking mind in RuneScape works. In truth, you might be right. And for all the world knows that it would be a terrible idea with not a lot of return, I don't have enough faith in the current environment at Jagex to not try it. But there's honestly no way to dispute your theory, because it's gone so far from how the game is now. We've only seen the tip of the iceberg in how crafty they're trying to be, and we've got no idea of how far they would go. But I tell you what, if people think TIF is strict, they better pray that Jagex doesn't try to cut off their communities. We're like Rush Limbaugh in comparison to the RSOF. (Eww, I feel dirty just making that comparison.) :lol:

The short answer is that they wouldn't improve anything.

They reopened it and said they would continue to do their reopening sessions...but honestly, after the initial "OMG IM ON CLASSIC--oh hey wait they wiped all my god damn stats" there really isn't a reason to go back. They're wise to discontinue that crap. I don't see it bringing in more members because of how badly they botched the character preservation with no hope of fixing it. 94 herb and 91 farm. The only thing we're unsure of is how these seeds are obtained. But other than that, you're exactly right that it's basically a contentless month. I guess that means it was actually rather clever of them to release a BXPW now, but at the same time that's still only 4 days out of thirty and no true content. It happens before the quest release though, which should give anyone ample time to get those last few levels for questing. So not completely out of their reach, but still, you've got an excellent point.

Jeez, what more could you want? It's not a matter of greed, like you're painting it to be. It's just not the norm. Compare it to the content released in November 2008, the month when WGS was released. We got the following: Stealing Creation WGS Holiday event This month we're getting New herb and prayer restore potion Ritual of the Majarrat BXP weekend loyalty rewards More on a list, but in terms of replay value, not as substantive. BXPW isn't really content, and the loyalty rewards list have no significant impact on gameplay. And for the vast majority of players, this new herb and pot will be useless. So it's not really a bad thing, but it's just not what we're used to seeing. No harm in saying that--I agree with him in fact. But I'm still completely excited for ROTM :)

I never took it as criticism towards me or the staff im not raging or anything either so idk why you think i need to relax lol I imagine you to be a passive aggressive cashier at your local grocery store. You are completely missing my point, besides the fact that wars and clanning is not your typical one-on-one pvp grudgematch, even in other MMOs... It's the whole experience of clan wars. He said his clan stuck together for the wars--key word, something they enjoy--but they enjoy the whole experience of League of Legends much more for free. And if there's so little tethering you to the game that you have to pay for but you only enjoy a tenth of it, compared to what's currently out on the market for a better 'value', that's a thread easily broken. As you said, "anyone can understand this." Why you can't (or refuse to) confuses me.

So, they haven't actually left RS then. There's loads of games out there that do combat better than RS.....but...they're still playing RS. Okaayyyyy........... :roll: It's extremely hard to be a clanner in f2p, most f2p clan mates are heavily pressured into getting members for faster returning times. But quitting is much more real of a fact when you've got only one activity catching your interest. A smidge of innovation, not just in p2p but f2p, could help stave off that quitting feeling. Whether the effort is worth it after a certain number of years is questionable, but I would think you'd want to wring your customers dry as long as possible. And if that means giving F2P a bit of attention every now and then, it seems damn foolish not to. And pking is nothing like proper clan wars, by the way. They have a different thrill and challenge to them that you just don't get in one on one dummy pking. I'm guessing by the fact that this is hard to believe (judging by your sarcasm) you've never been in a clan, in which case I'd recommend not criticizing what you're struggling to understand. That seems like an equally crafty explanation to simply say "Jagex won't change things because they want more money for little effort" Things like changing the mechanics of training across the board, like the tweaking of iron smelting, isn't greed--it's working smart. That update was done without a hitch and was very beneficial to both communities, with P2P still getting the lion's share of the benefit. A mechanic like Bury-X or Scatter-X would be beneficial to f2pers yes, but still preserving EXP rates for Members as well. And I think that is more in spirit with the "F2P is not a demo" mantra that people have adapted recently. I will say though that I'm against P2P content being given to F2P though no matter how obsolete. F2P should not be P2P's workhorse or dumping ground. They didn't allow it with the Pure Essence update, and I don't see why it should be changed now. Ah well that's my two cents. Just like many people play to pk, or to skill...lots of people play RS to fight in clans. Most of those people are bored with and/or have outgrown what most of the game offers and the only thing they find enjoyable is wars. But you don't have clan wars 24-7 lol.

It was a joke to lighten the mood, not a criticism of you or the clan staff. I think you need to relax. You've got on-point suggestions and it's be a shame to see this sprial into a cynical pit of useless pissing contests between what's left of the good community and the clan staff.

You log in and out or go to different tiers, usually updates it.

Will be interesting. Not a whole lot of surprises this month though, is it? I'm quite content though, I just wish that ROTM came out on my birthday week haha! I disagree, they do drop "crap" herbs but the rate at which you kill them & the closeness of the bank in Yanille with correct thieving level well out-classes anything else. I collect an inventory of Ranarr faster their than anywhere else. Yanille is a crapshoot; it's always packed.

You can switch from normals to curses there?! I think he meant switching FROM Curses TO regular prayers. :blink: Ah well I should have known better :(
