It's a comment directed at all the top players, not just you. You might have a substantial lead on everyone else, but you're not the only top player in the picture. If it sounded like it was an attack on your playstyle, then I apologize because it was clearly not. That said, I'm not sure how saying if people have a negative attitude about closing the gap with the top player is not a direct statement on the top players themselves, but this might've been another misunderstanding. I fail to see how anything less than attentive, prolonged hours of game time could catch up to where you're at currently, but hey, maybe I'm wrong.
-
A misunderstanding of what exactly? That post was directly talking about the competition for the top spot, nothing more. No need to be so defensive.
-
With that kind of attitude he will be. But I don't blame anyone who chooses not to play with such an anal attention to detail at such long periods of time, or who would even want to.

Every method currently available is the "best" until more research is published on how to increase those gains. I see no point in stating the obvious. There's always means of improving, but typically those improvements are weighed against the time needed to figure out the best and the theoretical increases a person would receive from mastering those things. Then the question of sustainability comes into play, and we come back to the same discussion. It might be great if say, someone like yourself can achieve perfection (which is a bit skeptical) for the actions that offer small increases to exp/hr, but the majority probably cannot maintain those rates. Rather than being lazy like some would assume, they might just be incapable for other reasons. There's no point in lauding the absolute best method that less than 5% of players (top or otherwise) can do. So my response to you is I don't think we should be arrogant enough to assume that these ridiculously high APM methods are viable for the general population that even the top players are lumped in. (Consistency and playtime can go a lot farther than nearly automated APM rates on their own.)

If you want to discussing the validity of achievements in 07 when compared to runescape's history, fine, but please stay on topic and within our forum rules. Thanks very much and PM me if you have any questions.

It's not just rule, in the US it's law. And it's still part of the RS ToS:

Me too, especially since that was one of the first things I tried. I didn't stick with it at the time, because I thought click through functionality still worked and it didn't make sense to me to lose all that screen space. Now I'm considering going back to it because of, you guessed it, lost space. RIP.

Adding people to your friend list. Runescape players are capable of devouring over 400 pounds of meat in a little more than half of a second. It's the same creative statistical interpretations when we were told that over 95% of players were in favor of the SoF ... by way of daily spin usage. If a person was really against SoF, they wouldn't use their daily spins at all. That's been discussed to death but to re-hash and really oversimplify a very thought out and interesting discussion, players essentially have no choice but to continually use it due to the way it's set up, the popup's annoying nature, and competitive play. It's set up to be part of the addictive mmo architecture. Should have a re-read of those old threads about the SoF, it's really a fun* read. * - I am not responsible for the medical fees from brain damage brought about by facepalming at most of the posts on those threads.p

Pittsburgh is a lot like that too -
I think it wouldn't matter how it was phrased. Put the word months in there, and people become terrified, especially since waiting for updates is not big a stretch of the imagination. :P I'm not too worried though. This battle of lumbridge stuff has me so preoccupied I barely have any time to go do anything else with how slow the collection rate of tears and fragments are...

Except Riptide was referencing the NIS, which was in a very long beta testing period. That isn't to say I really agree with him. NIS alpha & beta actually fixed a lot of game-breaking glitches, such as the time you could equip multiple armor pieces or something along those lines. There were a lot of small to medium sized updates released on a regular basis. What I have a slightly more difficult time understanding is why they didn't start out with known issues from the get-go. I'm sure there's some reason for it, but in all honesty it's not a big deal so long as the remaining little things (hi, "hide" global chat, clickthrough chatboxes, etc) are addressed soon. Edit: Well that explains the above question, heh!

Any news older than a month as of late ends up being very risky to accept as truth, what with all the push backs they end up having to do in order to ensure a somewhat stable release.

Haven't read the books but what on god's earth is the stuff over her ears? When I went to RSwiki to look up a picture of her she looked like a normal human being. Is it supposed to be a hat? If so, when will her hat be available. HEAVY WANT HAT.
