  1. If she does that she gets screamed at longer, and her punishment length is increased. Her parents are very protective of their authority. You (TTanT) are right and I don't have an answer for you. Are there external figures of authority who might sympathize with her who the parents would listen to? I know you've deleted the post, but it's pretty easy to guess what it was. It's also now in the relationship thread if you want to read it. But not really. My parents don't believe in interfering with other people's children. I'm going to get her to talk to her school counselor, though.

  3. Well, standing up to them worsens the punishment. And ehr dad has the potential of being violent, although he never has, he's come close. Also, she's fifteen. Her age really won't sway them.
  4. So, I decided to repost this ehre from the Real life help and advice thread because I think it has mroe relvance here. [hide=Long post] So, not to drop anoher family issue here, but I'm going to drop another family issue here. My girlfriend's still in a rough situation at home. I'll just give a list of the issues: -Her parents are constantly disagreeing, but her mom has a bully mentality, and ratehr than challenging ehr husband, takes it out on ehr daughter. -Her fatehr is a step father, who never really accepted her. He often falsely accuses ehr, and if she argues with him, even if she's right, she'll just be put in worse trouble. -Her parents aren't true to their words, and will make a new rules, along with a promise then break the promise. "You can't go over to his house, but he can come over ehre once a week." I've been allowed to her house once in three plus months since then. -Nothing she does counts. Her dad does absolutely no chores, but often screams at her if she doesn't get hers done on time. Her mom does chores, but is still nasty about her doing chores. Also, her mom or dad will happily tear up her room to look for something, then make her clean it up, or even ground her for it being messy. -Her sisters are allowed to steal her things, and she gets screamed at if she tries to take them back. One time they got in trouble, but that was because they stole a scented hand sanitizer and made a mess with it. They were punished for making a mess. Tonight she got literally screamed at for asking for a ride from a friends house. Keep in mind she'd gone over to that friend's house to help her study chemistry, and it would be a walk through a bad neighboirhood in the dark to get home. (Not to mention that she has back and knee problems, and therefore wouldn't be able to run away from someone effectively.) So we then were ranting toe ach other about ehr aprents on Facebook chat to cheer her up. (Normally I just bury her in compliments, but this time I was more ticked off than usual. Then she sends this message: "ok amber its time to get off the computer your failure of parents want to talk to you." This message isn't in her stressed typing style, which is what she was using at the time. (It isn't her normal typing style either, mind.) Also, it sounds like something her parents would send as a message. Her parents have hacked her Facebook before. Basically, due to the fact that I was railing on them, if they read that, they'll probably try to force her to break up with me. Which won't happen, but.... It'll make life really difficult. Do you guys have any clue at all how to save this situation? She was already on a form of probation from me from when I stupidly gave her a hickey a few months ago. (Yes, a single hickey deserves many months of punishment according to them.) OTL [/hide]
  5. On hindsite, this post was better suited for the relationship thread. Mods may feel free to delete.

Knights in the Nightmare is a great game for the Nintendo DS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCd80xcFfAo It's a compeltely insane game. You maneuver the "wisp" which is the main character with the stylus, and avoid damage by dodging the bullets enemies send flying across the screen. While doing that you must select your own fighters and charge their attacks to attack the enemies, while being wary of the occasional enemy that can kill your characters. Also, you can fuse knights and items and such between battles, which adds a whole new level of intricacy to the game, especially in Hard and Nightmare difficulties, where this is basically required to make it through the game. Oh, and this game is full of permadeath. Every knight will die when they use up their vitality, or if you're sloppy when dealing with certain monsters. And there are six or so endings, and two possible storylines. Plus three difficulty levels. Also, the graphics and soundtrack are just awesome.
  7. Confession: Hiding and defecating are very strongly linked, as far as I am concerned. Whenever I get into a good hiding place, I feel like I have to poo. The better the hiding spot, the stronger the urge. I [cabbage] you not.

I decided to check into Runescape today, and discovered my protest-buy I amde upon quitting of 2500 black wizard hats and 1400 blue wizard hats is now a gold mine. Since I'm now selling them for 250% and 900% profits, respectively. Someone help me. I have money now, which means I want to play. WHICH MEANS I MIGHT GET ADDICTED AGAIN! ...On the upside, if I get my girlfriend addicted to Runescape, she'll stop playing Maplestory. Which'd be good because I wouldn't have to keep talking her out of buying Nexon Points.

There is so much wrong with that sentence.
  10. No, life would continue, and heck the human race would survive too. Just a lot of people would starve and we might be catapulted back to the dark ages.

A friend of mine found a picture of a raptor wielding a lightsaber and told me that it represented me perfectly. Honestly, I think I have reached the peak achievement of my life.

Fix'd. Also, you guys are lucky your schools announce the night/day before. Here its literally either 20 minuets or few hours before school starts when they make the decision to shut down the schools. That's how it normally works here too. But the storm that's coming has apparently got the school district terrified right now.

School just called and announced a snowday for tomorrow. [insert dancing merlin gif that I can't find here]
  14. And with good reason, too.

Here: [hide=The Dungeons] I put a roof over the surface dungeon so I can have it spawn when I want it to, as I'm planning a cloth heavy project later, I'll want to build a string harvester here. This second dungeon is very near the first. Where I took this image from, I'd be visible from the hole in the wall in the first image. As it spawns zombies, I can't see much use for it honestly. [/hide]

And creepers can blow up and destroy anything but obsidian! That'd be a really cool feature to add! So, I found a surface dungeon right near my spawn. Then, literally ten blocks away, I find a second dungeon in a cave. (The dungeon is ten blocks away, not the cave entrance.) This distracted me so much I forgot to find coal.

Edit: Never mind, got it. And has anyone here played spoons before?

So now you're that one annoying kid who purposefully does the opposite of what everyone else wants you to do to be "funny." :-| For my own enjoyment, I spose. And you wonder why everyone treats you badly? Honestly. I myself suck at sports, but due to the fact that I try my best because it makes sports more fun. (If you're trying, scoring feels like an accomplishment even though it's "only a game.") And due to this I'm treated fairly well by fellow students. Basically, if you act like an ass in gym, then everyone will assume you're an ass in general. (Also, it probably means you're a bit of an ass in other situations, too). Oh, and would you react if (for lack of a better example) a friend you were pking with back when you played Runescape turned around and killed you for the lulz? I DON'T LIKE THIS GAME, SO NO-ONE ELSE CAN ENJOY IT EITHER

I just accidentally burnt down my house's wooden basement. So, I think I'll build a cannon into my 9x9 glass tower, along with a fire arrow dispenser, and finish the job.

What if you thought it was a nice ambient track that was very mildly foreboding?

I heard that. Get the hell out of my forum.
