  1. Going way off topic but I disagree with this. The gulf between console and PC players even within the community is pretty large. The reasons why PC gamers are perceived as super nerdy is because of elitism. Obviously the media and the public love to exaggerate but stereotypes don't just appear out of nowhere. PC gamers are almost always hardcore, tech-savvy individuals who build their own custom spec PC's. All you have to do is visit a message board for any multi-platform release and you will see the kind of holier than thou attitude that a lot of them have.
  2. Nobody expected anything in return, they just expected suomi to get 5b xp. Exactly, and expecting him to carry on playing to get 200m all when he has obviously stopped due to personal reasons is selfish.
  3. First of all, this. Second, in my opinion, if you donate to charity for ANY reason, (whether that be for emotional or physical investment) other than to genuinely want to help people, you are doing it for the wrong reasons. I can't help but think all the people that are complaining about donating to what is now a lost cause are doing so because they can no longer claim they helped Suomi to 200m all. I don't care to name names but people in this thread have specifically stated their donation was an investment. By very nature of the word investment, you expected something in return which IS selfish.
  4. After reading the posts about Summoning I feel like I just read the same argument and counter argument about 20 times over. I have no issue with the x1.1 limit being lifted, (I would take full advantage of it myself if I wasn't already 99) I do, however, have an issue with Jagex taking another U-turn on their stance of the skill in relation to bexp weekends. I'm pretty sure they said themselves when they first changed it that Summoning was so different in the way that you gained exp that it would be unbalanced to give it a 2x boost. I swear they backtrack and U-turn on previous policies more than politicians.
  5. Self control would be the key term to use in this thread. I don't understand why certain individuals are getting angry at Jagex for doing this. Nobody is forcing anyone to play for 48 straight hours. If anything, it promotes less intensive playing than the old formula. In previous bexp weekends I felt like I had to play 10 hours to get the multiplier down to x1.1. If this one is double exp for an entire two days it means people will reach their goals faster, hence having to play less.
  6. Just out of curiosity, who actually owns Tip.it now?
  7. Pretty much what Deletion said. In the world of videogames, certain genres of games, just like films, are considered by both the public and general media (in the UK at least) to be more nerdy than others. Also, because Runescape is really, really old for an MMO people assume it is the exact same game as they left it and don't realise the changes that have occurred.
  8. Me too. Also, did anyone notice the guys weight with the boots and gloves? Seems a little steep to me. I'm assuming he's going to drop some lore books about the Dragon riders too which I'm guessing will be followed up next year with the focus being on the Gods.
  9. It's a boss monster designed for combat 80 players. Stay away from it with your maxed stats.
  10. He looks awesome. Shame every single world is going to get bum rushed by people trying to kill him on release. I was kind of hoping they were going to make him more difficult to fight considering he isn't and hasn't really been considered a boss monster for a long time.
  11. Elves won't be out until at least 2014. Also, I wouldn't get your hopes up about quest 200, when someone asked about it in the live stream Mod Mark said it would be about as big as TCC, a quest I found dissapointing. I'm more looking forward to seeing what this "huge" quest is that's planned for the start of next year. My money is on the Dwarf GM finale.
  12. The skill outfit pieces were only on the uncommon slot for the previous weekend, now they're rare slot items only.
  13. 375 Onyx bolts 350 (I think) Magic logs 2.4k Coal 5 Magic seeds Just shy of 6m, can't complain i guess.
  14. boost doesnt last for only 30 days....its 30 days unless you spend more cash on getting a skill set recharge that makes it last for another anywhere from 1-7 days. I'm pretty sure you can only get the recharge crystals from sof. Granted you can buy spins but there's still the free ones, but no way of direct buying Not to mention the fact that the recharge crystals only appear on rare slots, hardly game breaking.
  15. http://youtu.be/G3PxewMv2bU I'm assuming Hazelmere and Duradel will be on that list. Sounds like KBD is getting a graphical update soon too.
  16. They never said that. What they did say was they were going to publicise updates to each less frequently than before which I have noticed they are already doing.
  17. The only time Jagex should even consider for a second raising other skill caps to 120 is when they all have content up to and including level 99. Even then, they shouldn't raise it for the sake of it being 120.
  18. I was like wtf when I got this, had to read the news post to find out what it was. Got it from an uncommon slot, seems like a nice group of items as they only last for 30 days until they become cosmetic and all the existing skill outfits you get from game content are a permanent 5% boost.
  19. That's horrible. :L This also makes me sad.
  20. Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with the exp payouts for challenges. After all you can only get one challenge a day and a maximum of 5. I think the system is really good overall, it just feels like a nice daily bonus in a random skill you wouldn't normally do. It's interesting that you phrase that last sentence in that way. "Something you wouldn't normally do." Yet c6 floors, slaying any assigned monster, pyramid plunder, and fletching yew longbows are all top training methods for their skills. (Fletching is debatable, but it's one of the more cost effective methods compared to sinking millions into broad arrows.) I saw the daily rewards system as a way of revitalizing some of the more odd or forgotten content. Don't get me wrong, I love this system and my only substantial gripe is that there are too little daily challenges given per-day. And I know in the first two days we've only experienced a small portion of what this very large system has to offer us. However, the system seems to miss the mark if it's directing you to use the already popular methods of training their respective skills. I meant in the context of what a player does on a daily basis it isn't what one would normally do. An example being; I could be focusing on training Slayer and not have time to train thieving yet get a challenge that I can quickly do for a worthwhile amount of experience. I can see exactly why they decided not to give us 5 challenges a day, some of them can take quite a long time to complete so they probably didn't want players to feel like they had to spend a considerable amount of time doing challenges instead of training normally.

  22. 700 different challenges and I get the same Runecrafting one upon reset. Dat luck.
