Runescape withdrawl symptoms?
Yay, for the generic "I quit Runescape, you should too!" thread. As pretty much everyone has said in this thread already, this topic is very very subjective. Just because YOU found yourself experiencing withdrawl symptoms and addiction to a video game doesn't mean everyone elseo does. I find it rather funny how the OP of these kinds of threads always tries to belittle the people that still play by telling them all the 'stuff' that they are missing out on. I've been playing this game for 6 years on and off, and yet, I still manage to maintain a healthy life outside of Runescape! *GASP* Seriously, people always blow this issue way out of proportion, I play Runescape to generally have a bit of fun by training some skills and to kill time. As all my friends work and I go to University I tend to play Rs to kill time until they are free to do stuff. Either that or I am looking for a job. I really don't see any issue here other than the self created one that the OP seems to want to impose on everyone else who can manage to balance a dam video game with real life.

A long lost soul
I have had friends that iv'e known for at least 5 years quit and never log back in again. The thing is, it really doesn't bother me at all. I don't know any of these people in real life, only within a game. When I log out of the game, I don't ever think of them as I treat Runescape just like a video game. Most people who I talk to in-game now are real life friends so it doesn't really matter if they quit.

Live Developer Q&A
Can't be assed to screenshot it now but it's in there somewhere. Mod Ash more or less confirmed that they plan to release Dung batch 2 next month as he said they plan to release it before Runefest which is on August 28th.

Live Developer Q&A
so far it's a lot of what we expected: 'sorry, i'm not going to give that away' 'I'm not qualified to answer that question' 'Sorry, there are no plans for that right now'

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Not necessarily the same workers work on the new skill/last skill. It takes a lot of time to develop a skill, I think it would be safe to put 'minimum a year' on a new skill. From drawing board -> bugfree release. If they aren't working on a skill right now, this would mean no skill this time next year. That is rather disappointing... :???: Seriously, you just sound like a spoilt kid now. Expecting them to put devs stragiht onto another new skill straight away when Dungeoneering isn't finished and is arguably the biggest skill they have ever done is just unrealistic. I'd rather wait longer for a new skill so they can fully flesh out and tweak Dungeoneering than be presented with another reskin skill which includes gathering this then processing it into a useless and worthless item.

 :( This really means they plan to switch focus to their other games and let runescape die a silent dead in the next 5 years How on earth could you possibly draw a conclusion like that from such a simple statement. They JUST released Dungeoneering, do you honestly think they would immedietely start working on another skill?

What's With This Crash?
Summer just started? I believe the holidays in the US end quite soon. The summer holidays in England have however, just started.

Why do people wear skillcapes?
The way I see it, I don't care how many people have 99 in a skill. It took me 5 years of on and off Slayer to get 99 whilst enjoying it and I now wear the cape to show the personal achievement that I did myself. Other people may say 99 Slayer is easy or that they think Slayer isn't hard to do. Whatever, It was a personal goal and achievement of mine for a long time so I really couldn't care less on other peoples opinions. In the end, it's all relative to the person whether getting 99 in any skill is an achievement. Not everyone trains a skill in the same way and everyone journeys to 99 in a different way, sure, some skills are easier than others but in the end, it still an achievement, just don't let other people belittle you for it.

Live Developer Q&A
Seems like a pretty niche Q&A to be honest. I doubt they will even be able to answer half the questions asked.

19-Jul-2010 - Dungeoneering Update
They're rewarding those who didn't just stop at 80 for the weapons, those who continued to train the skill because they enjoy it. Well I don't enjoy the skill, I just grinded it out to get a better weapon. Apparently I'm just an [wagon] for not liking the skill judging by the other things people have said about my comment. Whatever, guess I'll just grind for another week on the most boring skill out there. lol, flamebait.

19-Jul-2010 - Dungeoneering Update
Right, maybe someone can comment on this between ungrateful pissing and moaning. It is NOT the icon of any dungeon in-game. You mean comment on that image that won't show and has a broken link? I have never seen that item ingame. You might know Dungeoneering boss heads are shown in the ingame guide under the dungeoneering skill. My guess is its the head of a future boss. Ok, got the image to work, looks alot like a mask to me. Perhaps its one of the new TT rewards?

19-Jul-2010 - Dungeoneering Update
Here comes Mr. Jagex sucks <_< This update makes me want to level my dungeoneering level a bit. ... Negative players that live to be negative will always be...yes, negative. I wasn't expecting an absolutely mindblowingly good update, I was expecting an update that gave Dungeoneering a good use outside of Daemonheim, and it delievered. As nobody else has mentioned it here yet, the new dungeon that is in the al-kharid mine has VERY frequent imp spawns that I believe range all the way up to kingly (TBC). I was there for about 20 mins and saw 5 Zombie imps, 3 Dragon imps and 2 Ninja imps spawn.

EA/Activision Told Jagex To [bleep] Off
The sad thing is that Jagexjust figured this out with war of legends, and sadly enough people have bought into it that its going well. I played war of legends for several months (and loved the very basic game and the community) but finally quit because it was just taking too much time, and the fact that I hated how people with money could buy their way through the game. (along with many other stupid things jagex did with that game) I think, with the way war of legends has gone, that jagex will probably have some form of microtransacttion in stellar dawn. Some people don't seem to understand the difference between developer and publisher it seems. Jagex published WoL, they didn't develop it. For the sake of simplicity, Jagex had no hand in creating the game, they simply tacked their name onto the game by publishing it to make people know about it's existence. This is the exact same way that Activision-Blizzard works if im not mistaken. Also, I still think Runescape has a very large stigma attached to it for being a childrens game with an absolutely despicable community. All you have to do is read some reviews of the game online and you will see user reviews who simply think the game is overrun by moronic kids. Sadly, there is truth in the statement and I think it's too late for Jagex to convince the general gaming public that Runescape is for all ages.

They could easily apply a limit to how many of them you could find in a day. Or something to that limit. I don't think that'd be too bad and the fact that if the dungeons are random then you wouldn't always get a rune rock in it. It was already stated in one of the blogs or FAQ's on the RSOF that none of the dungeons will be randomised and each one will always contain the same thing.

Runescape Pro vs Old timer
This pretty much sums up exactly how I play. When I first started training Slayer (5ish years ago now) I would do it on and off and spread my interests out over other skills and activities. However, like anything you do in Runescape or even real life, the more you do something the more efficient you get at it. Im coming close to maxing out Slayer now and I get through every task as fast and as efficiently as I possibly can because it doesn't make sense to me to take the slower option of doing a task when I know there is a faster method.

Wildy
Yeah, 'cuz who would ever think about making the wild dangerous? Anyway, the whole "if you make it so people can PK on every world it'll be harder to find fights and/or abuse the system" is a cop-out. The first because PK'ers tend to gather on a specific world to PK, as was the case before PK designated world. This wouldn't change if PK'ing was made available on every world. The only thing that would change is that you'd now have a few stragglers out PK'ing on the non-designated PK worlds. The vast majority of PK'ers would still PK on, say, world 18. The second because you can easily abuse the system right now, if you so choose (By that, I mean 76K'ing), without breaking so much as a sweat. Really, there's no reason not to do this except for the fact that some people like being able to run around the wilderness with very little risk posed to themselves. Edit: And, totally off-topic, I'd rather the old wilderness with the old drop system back. You just contradicted yourself. What's the point of adding PK'ing back to every world if the majority of players stick to one world anyway? With that outlook, I could say that the only reason you really want PK'ing back on every world is simply so you can irritate players who don't PK and are just trying to reach a minigame or to do a quest.

After the Dragonkin/Majharrat, what's next?
It won't be the end of Runescape, but it will be the end to what many and i think even Jagex consider to be the central storyline of the game. This is why I think more and more references are being made to the Dragonkin as it's more than likely that they will become the central threat to Gielinor like the Mahjarrat before them.

After the Dragonkin/Majharrat, what's next?
Like everyone else has said, and by what Jagex has written in the Q&A's, I would imagine that once they are done fleshing out and stuffing the continent we have now with content they will begin work on some new form of 'expansion' in the loosest sense of the term. Jagex have already stated numerours times that the Eastern Lands will eventually be released but they are more of a long term project. Anyway, once the Mahjarrat storyline has concluded i'd say it's more than obvious that this well then unfold into the next central storyline of the Dragonkin. Clearly, the Dragonkin are deserving of their own storyline and the heavy emphasis that Jagex seems to be putting on them at the moment seems to support this.

Luck Streaks
OP, it's as if you're describing exactly the cycles of luck I go through. I still maintain that each individual account has some form of hidden lsp, but instead of it increasing your chances of getting drops in a group it increases your chances of gettting them at all when you are alone. At the moment, I'm 6 tasks of Abbysal Demons without a whip, 3 tasks of Gargoyles without a maul, 4 tasks of Ice Wyrms without a staff and 3 tasks of Spirit mages without boots. This is probably the longest dry run I have ever had since I started Slayer. However, the bad luck I experience seems to balance itself out because of this as I got a visage from a task of black dragons last week and I got a pair of dclaws after roughly only 35 kills a few days ago.

Purpose of the Strange Power
it was probably Bilrach unleashing whatever was locked at the bottom of the dungeon (the dragon kin)we'll probably not figure out for sure until someone reaches lvl 120 dung and batch 2 is released. Like Morionic said, The origins/purpose of the strange power likely won't be discovered until the second part of Dungeoneering is released. Given that only half of Bilrach's notes can be obtained at the moment there is obviously much more that we are going to find out about the nature of Daemonheim.
