  1. Try this for the average player, who has no exp flipping, dies to staking too much and cant Pk for crap. Or, you know, share knowledge with other players on flipping etc? <_< The purpose of this post wasn't to discuss merchanting or my own wealth. People can't get off the "you're greedy" bandwagon and realize that the point I'm making relates to the vast difference in the way money is exchanged and viewed pre- and post-free trade. Why put words into peoples mouths? Nobody in this thread has once accused you of being greedy. If your going to make a thread with it's primary example being one such as this you can hardly be surprised when people don't share your same viewpoint on the matter.
  2. Considering they essentially stole your account I say clean the bank and give it to your friend. After that you should request the account be locked. No unspam.
  3. My god, people are so melodramatic on this forum. Jagex will give SOME players the ability to buy a banned account back at their discretion. Does this mean it's the Runescape apocalypse? No. Jagex isn't a dam charity, it's a business. If you disagree with it's ethics/morals/business model then don't play the dam game.
  4. I can't even comprehend how someone who owns a Blue Partyhat could be so [developmentally delayed]ed.
  5. How many did you kill? To be honest, the drops seem to be a little too common. Got the Brazier after only two werewolf kills and got the helm after about 30 kills after that. The axes were on another trip which I got in about 20-30 ish kills. It could just be my luck but i've seen other people there get drops in a similar amount of kills. Will unspam later.
  6. It always looks like im missing some kind of closely guarded market secret when I view these forums. Pictures of people flipping items for 10's of millions of gp without even having to think about it does kind of baffle me as I just don't see how people manage to flip items that I've tried to flip before to no avail. I have a 100-200m bank (fluctuates depending on whether I pour money into a skill) but now that just seems like nothing when you see people staking 400m+ in a single stake.
  7. Dropped from a level 13-16 Goblin. Got 26 of them in one drop which was about 200k. Also got a corrupt Statius helm and Guthix Brazier from the Imp and Werewolf respectively. A bit too early to tell but it looks like the corrupt stuff and low tier statues drop from the low level Revs and vice versa.
  8. Looking forward to seeing Arposandra, it's been a pretty long time since we've had an actual proper city/town added to the game. Still a little disappointed about no MOTM 5 but gnomes will do. The ashes update sounds promising. TD's should have their own class of ashes to be honest but I guess that would have made them too profitable assuming the ashes are tradeable. They just need to add an Ashscatterer to the Dung rewards now lol.
  9. Not sure about chaotics but Ovls work fine in Chaos Tunnels.
  10. The interview can be found here: http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/01/24/massivelys-exclusive-interview-with-runescapes-lead-designer-m/ Thought I'd share this as it covers a few things that the FAQ and Q&A sessions haven't covered.
  11. I don't see why it shouldn't, I mean, it was purposely made for that wasn't it? The whole purpose of the wild is old-school nostalgia. Getting Dclaw specced by a rusher in full statius is quite the antithesis of that. Regressing the wilderness to the point where full rune and a whip was the best equipment would just be idiotic. The nostalgic value of the old wilderness returning is the old loot and level scaling system.
  12. If you would have read the whole post, there is a large section which states that the supposed RNG could not be used to determine drops for RS, because firstly, those drops have weightings, which makes them not random, and also, even if they weren't weighted, the RNG is not 100% random in and of itself. What everyone states of these back-to-back drops rely on the use of a RNG, which can NOT exist. And yet, people have shown time and time again that back to back drops of a very rare item HAS happened. Even if someone got two hilts 5 kills apart it would still disprove your theory. Stop wasting your time trying to prove something that clearly holds no credibility.
  13. Yet this time they won't be abusable. I'd rather they removed them entirely. There is NO reason to keep them in the game, surely the prospects of Ancient armour and brawlers is incentive enough to hunt these Revenants? We do not need the equivalent of 1000 free high-level alchs in drops. Stuff like Statius Warhammer would become rares if they were removed. Jagex does not want to do that. Especially since it would become a USEFUL rare instead of a purely cosmetic rare. Add the fact that they degrade and that they are much less spread out than other rares were when they were released (ex. anyone could've gotten a santa when they were out, but very few will find themselves with a SWH). You could easily see these worth in the billions after a few years. He's talking about statuettes, not PvP armour. As it stands, there is no reason to keep them in the game. Jagex could easily just turn any remaining statues into their cash equivalent and be done with them.
  14. If it was my choice I'd just say take out the ability to bless so people can stop crying about the game not being challenging enough and then make it so if you dont make it back in 5 minutes, your stuff just disappears. That way no vultures can make millions by doing nothing.
  15. Why would you lurk at Bandos? Seriously, unless you disconnect, you deserve to die if you can't kill that oversized training dummy.
  16. Increased risk when MHing = Looters getting potential millions for doing nothing other than hanging around someones grave = But seriously, in the end, the only thing I'm concerned about is the [bleep]s who think it's cool to lure DK's/TD's on to you just so they can have a chance at getting you killed.
  17. It is to stop people from manually dropping their items when they're going to die for sure, just to spite the person who's killing them. I guess. Exactly that, dropping items they'd otherwise lose (or protect over other items) so they can often run back and pick them back up when they die. Except that right now, you can't drop anything worth over 1k while in combat...But If that's the reason, I'm satisfied, because it sounds fair. It sounds stupid. :P Instead of the person killing you getting your stuff, your friend can pick your stuff up for you. :P Are there any answers about what will happen to shops? This will affect me a lot because I'm buying 1k yak hides a day atm and selling them for 700gp each (for around 2.5m gp profit/hr, more if I sell the hides for more) and if they add unlimited stock back or something this won't be possible. Also, what about the chaos tunnels? They've moving some stuff out but I haven't read about them. Also, I don't think bringing potions/borrowed into the wilderness hasn't been thought through: what if you wanna go in the chaos tunnels or kill the KBD/Chaos Elemental or something with borrowed dragon claws and overloads? Nothing about these changes sound good to me (they didn't initially either) and If there was a referendum now after seeing the big picture, I would expect it to be pretty close compared to what the results were. The same applies for killing steels and irons in Ghorrock. I guess if you want to take extremes there, you're euchred ... One of the trusted fansites (can't remember which one) was given an updated 'dynamic map' by Jagex that showed a new entrance to the Ghorrock fortress from a non wildy area so it's probably safe to say that extremes will still be allowed there.
  18. Seeing all those TD pics made me want to go, so I did. Pair 7 or 8 I believe, don't really keep count. Also, I never really bothered to check, but do the platebody parts have a lower drop rate than claws? In all the claws ive gotten I've only ever gotten the one lump and that's it. EDIT: Fail cropping is fail.
  19. Finally got this after spending a large portion of my bank on it: Which then led to this:
  20. I may have missed something here. If you won then someone lost. Who lost? Lol. 7% of voters lost. However even if all 84k (1.2mil x .07, which is the approximate number of no voters) "no" voters quit runescape for good, well more then 84k old players will join again. So nothing of value was lost for the rest of us. I wasn't aware that it was a competition lol. Also, what you say makes little to no sense. Assuming all 84k players quit, saying that many old players will re-join is just a massively unrealistic guess.
  21. I may have missed something here. If you won then someone lost. Who lost? Lol.
  22. You'll have to do it the old fashion way, cruise the forums and check the going rate for whatever you want to buy. Head to World 2 Fally Park to see if you can snipe a good deal or head over the Grand Exchange if you don't want to world hop. I'm excited to not be able to buy items immediately and for player interaction to finally return to this game! Yup, standing around world 2 Fally for hours on end trying to make yourself seen through the hordes of autotalkers sure is fun! /sarcasm.
  23. So I decided to go and kill some Dwogres out of boredom. Lo and behold, 3 kills in and I get one of these from one of the level 48 Dwarves. Also, inb4failcropping.
  24. I did read it all but there's quite a bit of text. Basically, when Nex was awakened during the God wars, it is revealed that Sliske tricked the ghost and other followers of Guthix into believing a ritual they would perform would summon Guthix. Instead, it released Nex. When you ask the ghost what happened to Sliske, she says that he was never seen again after Nex was sealed by the four armies and simply vanished.
  25. Is the point of highest level armor always to fix the combat triangle? Judging by the fact that most armor worn previously wasn't the best available(really, how many people use divines?), thus we can safely say elite armor isn't added to fix the combat triangle, it's to give the best of the best something to crave for, too. With the last elite armor coming along with corporal beast(chaotics aren't elite, really), it's long overdue, anyway. And with the possibility of untradeable armor, it should keep the complaints at a low level with how much you have to sacrifice for the armor, and even if you can't wear it, corrupt statius is very nearly as good, with much lower price/requirements. As for the bow, if it is 1m for whatever 10 hours, it would be the best single combat ranged training weapon available. There's one major factor that's being overlooked here. Yes, high level/Maxed players should have something to strive for. The problem is, this armour is the ONLY armour in the game that boosts lp past 990. If anyone decides to pk in full torva and divine it's going to widen the equipment gap so much that the player with is essentially turning on godmode.
