  1. This. Regardless of the fact that your points don't get deducted from buying a spell, the rate at which you gain them is still far too slow to be worth the time invested.
  2. GG Rushers, anyone who has that shield spell is pretty much immune to one hit K.O's now. All the new spells look pretty handy, I really hope Veng Group and the shield spell are allowed in Dg.
  3. You Wish you had luck like this.
  4. From the way it was worded, it sounds like something not dissimilar to Herblore Habitat. If it was a D&D, Jagex usually put the words 'weekly repeatable experience' or something similar in there.
  5. Good that you love it, but there is two sides of the coin. Those who like it and those who don't. Why couldn't they make a usual update for players like me and a hidden celebrating update for players like you? And no i am not forced to join it, but i expect content update that's perm, not a temporary one. I never did much of Wild Wyrm neither did i find Haiti useful. But if Jagex workers have day off. Then i have to say that's cool. But that does not mean i support a game where you celebrate irl events like a wedding. But like i said, if workers have day off, you can't expect much updates. So that kinda justifies it. I must have missed the part of members benefits that stated every content update would contain permanent long lasting and re-playable content every week. I can't believe this argument even exists, nobody [bleep]es and moans about Thanksgiving events which, in reality, is the celebration of the slaughter of native amercans. I don't agree with us having a monarchy and think it's wholly redundant, but I still understand why it's important for a lot of people, mainly for the reasons already posted. Jagex are British, they want to celebrate an event that personifies England, if you don't like it, tough [cabbage].
  6. Why is Thanksgiving celebrated then?
  7. Yea your right, Slayer is a hard skill to train because of it's risk of death. /sarcasm I can't think of a single task that Kuradal assigns where anyone who knew what they were doing would be at risk of death, even Miths are a complete joke.
  8. WHAT THE HELL? is this a second april's fools? Really why make it even LESS bad to die? It is already amazingly stupid if you die, and you can get 99% of the time back in time with ease.. (And the other 1% you often go with teams) It always makes me laugh at the rage when Jagex change death mechanics. For a forum that constantly makes comparisons between Rs and WoW why doesn't anyone make mention of the fact that you lose nothing when you die in WoW? Also, the only people this really affects are lurers, I'll never understand why people want to lose all their stuff on death, unless you like to self harm.
  9. Other than for Dg Vengence Group really is a pointless spell. Clan camp will be good(ish) for people who are already in a clan, but pretty useless for the majority. The Livid Farm is pretty much the only actual content update for this month, good job it sounds like a good addition.
  10. Take it from a non efficient standpoint for once, please. It could add a bit of fun in my opinion juggling binds like this because as of now if you want to switch you have to go through the effort of remaking all your binds if you decide to switch back. To each, his own I guess... very few people find completing dungeons slower and making them more difficult fun. Everyone in 117/148 begs to differ.
  11. Chances are, the "hacker" on your friends account changed the account name and someone else has subsequently taken the accounts original account name hence why it is still on the hi-scores. The original name should still work when trying to recover it though. Either that or he has forgotten the name/ the account has been locked.
  12. what do you mean? they have way more subscribers now. Many of them are botters, though. That's some pretty conclusive proof you have there. You must be right. /sarcasm The number of players doesn't just jump from 150k to well over 200k because of people returning. There's not THAT many people who returned because of these updates. Likewise, not THAT many people quit when Jagex removed the Wilderness. In both cases, a large number of bots comprised the average amount of players online. And my proof is that if you go anywhere that can be farmed for money with little risk, you'll see swarms of low/mid level players all wearing identical noob gear and moving in predictable patterns. And these are just the gold farmers. There are a bunch of players now actively botting on their mains-- case in point was the guy a few pages back at iron dragons, who didn't pick up any drops (including d legs) and was using protect melee with a pony. It really is quite irrelevant what you say, All your points are based on yours and others observations and not fact. The point is, all the bot hotspots have been crowded for as long as I can remember with the only lull coming when FT was initially removed. Yes bots exist, and they always will exist. There's still no way you can possibly know how many bots there are without Jagex actually releasing the figures themselves. Unspam coming soon.
  13. what do you mean? they have way more subscribers now. Many of them are botters, though. That's some pretty conclusive proof you have there. You must be right. /sarcasm
  14. So bored of all the Jagex trolls in this thread, just take your cynicism somewhere where I don't have to read that crap. OT: Quest was pretty awesome, first quest in a while that has actually been of a decent length and content, and not just been "go here, fetch this, come back."
  15. Did Jagex even promise an extra bind as a reward for this quest? or are people throwing rumors around... No, but people see a DG requirement and think free bind. Mainly because a reward of DG experience would actually be pointless (assuming the quest takes a relatively long amount of time to complete). Also, Jmods have mentioned adding extra bind slots as quest rewards in past Q&A's. So if we don't get it with this one chances are it will be a reward from RotM.
  16. EDIT: nvm
  17. Clearly you won't be going to college, you can't even read and understand the comments in this thread.
  18. what if an orthodontist works 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, and makes $100K a year? he's not doing enough? for him to play 6 hours of runescape a day would certainly not interfere with his job, and would still leave plenty of time to be social. you are trying to put universal restrictions on parts of people's lives that are highly dependent on the context. dude im gunn lay it how i meant it.. also please tell me what tldr is. I've been wanting to post something like this for a while because I think there are a lot of people who have this problem/don't realise it. I don't wanna get into a stupid flame about work and stuff, at the end of the day your incredibly lucky if you can not work at all and are living by yourself. WHATEVER. This is a problem that alot of players have that is hardly ever discussed, I would like it if just one person saw this and thought 'yeah maybe I am playing too much'. I'm pretty bad at vocalising my thoughts so if you want to you can easilly rip me apart in quote chains. If you think this topic doesn't impact you then don't post. It is undeniable that there are players where playing too much RS is affecting them badly. I want to point that out and hope someone thinks a bit about how much time they're putting into this game and possibly change their habbits if its not working out well. I've had friends on RS who have done 2 days in a row, skipped school or something similar because of an RS problem, and from what I can tell it's fairly common place. Damn I really am bad at saying what I want to say.. maybe I should edit my original post. But basically this isn't about putting a limit on it, it's about the general issue of spending too much time on a game and detrimentally affecting your life. Slypheed: I said it was extreme. People who need help can;t see it sometimes. If you really believe absolutely noone whos playing RuneScape is messing up their real life then fairplay. I cant be assed to have a flame quote war I genuinely wanna make some people aware of this.. oh and i just search tldr, so u didnt even read my original post but you felt you could make loads of comments taking the piss out of me? thanks mate  Ok wow, this is getting pretty silly now. I don't know how much clearer I can make my point. YES people play this game too much, NO its not any of your business if they do. The tl;dr in my first post was reference to my own post not yours. So much drama on a webforum, my god.
  19. No but it'd be better, at least they contribute something. what's the magic number, then? dude use your common sense.. look around at other people and see mate. its pretty standard that you work 8 hours a day. if youve got kids then hopefully you don't have to but ive worked with peeps who stilll do 8/10hour days. if jobs hard to come by then you should be looking. but seriously mate those no magic number, is it not obvious that everyone should be aiming for 8 hours work a day? im on a farm at the moment, most things are self sufficient and we work 6-7hours a day every day except sunday. thats really life imo, thats paying bills and eating enough. people who don't work either scrounge of parents or the government. but thats not what this is about.. Where do college students fit into the "everyone should work eight hours a day" plan? in uk the recommended reading+ lectures time works out around 8 hours a day and if your from the uk and u mean college then generally it is 8 hours a day. Plus most people i know who go uni(college) need to work shed loads of hours anyway to keep up with bills. yeah but a lot of people do play RS like that, i dont care anymore about limits but i think saying u shud only be playing a video game for 4 hours a day isn't particularly extreme. the games addictive in nature. i also said i know a lot of people don't play liek that but a lot of people do. i know a lot of people played like me, except i only [bleep]ed up for a month or so and it didn't lose me any good mates, missed out ona few funny times but that's it. but yeah a lot of people do play like that all the time and i know that it damages them. watever clearly noone beleives the for some reason  to reply to comment above. my friend went mental, while he was going mental we tried to stop him taking drugs, he said he didn't want help it was none of our buisness. really extreme example but yeah, sometimes people need a push to realise somethings out of the ordinary. think about alcoholics, the didn't want to become alcoholics. all extreme examples but relevant. why do interventions exist? EDIT please tell me what tldr means :( Nice analogy, did you hear about those thousands of people killing themselves by overdosing on Runescape? Oh wait....
  20. Not saying that your in denial about your own playtime, but you must be about others. Come on I really don't wanna name names but I saw posts from 200mers who talk about life in a weird way, about how tiresome it is etc. Thats clearly from staring at a computer screen for unnatural ammounts of time a day. I'm sorry but I swear you can't dispute that, i have no way of prooving it but i wouldve thought it's obvious. Also you must be in denial or blind if you don't realise RS screws some peoples lives over, ive heard some real disturbing things in game. Maybe it would just be something else if it wasn't RS. im sorry but its obvious that some of those people arn't enjoying it that much. is it not common knowledge that a lot of people don't enjoy skilling/grinding? but a lot of people do it. is it not a bit weird? bonus exp weekend people were constantly complaining in sw chest about how bored they were. but they did it anyway. i think RS is an easy way to be commondated ad rewarded and to see the rewards and that a lot of the people that are playing a lot are doing it for that reason, not because they actually find it more fun than other things. and yeah obviously there will be some people who do genuinely enjoy the whole 16 hours they play but come on! edit: WHATS TL DLR??! Also Bladewing, someone who doesn't work at all and just plays on a game all the time really is bad for society. At the mo I only work 36 hours a week. Hell people who work 5 hours a week is alright but not working at all.. hmm.. I'll make it simple, no matter how right you think you are, unless said person actually asks/wants help, then you have no right to tell them that playing Rs for that long is wrong for them. That isn't me denying that people no-life this game, because they do, but if they choose to do that, it's their CHOICE.
  21. oh look its one of those ppl that says oh look. im just saying, i cant be the only one with this experience. i seriously think a lot of people ahve this problem but arn't facing it. i dont think im amazing, im 19 and i play rs man. well not anymore but whatever. also, thats a pretty big discussion but i think people have every right to try and help people when it's clearly detremental to their real life/society as a whole. you don't have to know someone to know that playing 20hours a day is clearly ruining their actual lives. did you read any posts by the 200mers? im not trying to act all high and mighty i genuinely wanna show some people that there's a better way to feel good than to obsessively play rs. I don't agree with the amount of time people spend playing Rs for all 200m either, in fact, i think it's an absurd amount of time to spend playing a video game, but if they genuinely enjoy that time whilst doing it then nobody has any right to tell them to stop doing it (unless of course, your parents still control you). I would assume the woman would know the dangers of sun bathing for that long, so again, its really none of your business to tell her to stop. I really hope that isn't aimed at me. If someone disagrees with your viewpoint, that doesn't automatically make the bolded part the reason.
  22. Did you actually read the thread and understand it? lol Sure did, what's not to understand?
  23. Oh hey, look it's another generic "I didn't know how to manage my time/addiction so I quit, you should too" thread! Seriously though, I read your comments in the 200m skills thread and all you did was tell people that what they did with their lives was wrong. If they want to spend 20+ hours a day playing Rs who are you to tell them otherwise? Anyway, well done for making this condescending thread about how you now think you are a marvellous person for stopping Rs, want a medal? TL;DR - Learn how to manage your time and realise you can play Rs and still maintain a healthy social life. /Thread, please lock.
  24. Too generous.
  25. Yes and it's one of the worst game's we've ever laid our eyes on LOL. I think the reason most of us don't leave is because we (the ones playing for years) don't have the time to start a game that's actually good, plus this game is cheap - and you get what you pay for. plz Skyrim come out sooner  Yep this game is pretty [cabbage]ty and the worst game I ever played. If you like games where everything is [cabbage] go play more rs. Yet you STILL post on a Runescape fansite where nobody cares or wants to hear how much you hate the game. Seriously, if you hate the game so much just stop posting, nobody values your opinion anyway.
