Exp still isn't great. When you add the low charms, effigies, and crappy drops, they aren't really worth it. uhm well they do drop rune arrows and a few more alcheable quite often.. As well as a decent crimson drop-rate.. I'm just stunned you skip them: this means you skip almost everything? - And only do around 5 different tasks? Greaters and the like are even worse profit.. [/hide]Typical slayer task list is: Black demons Mutated bloodvelds Dagganoth Hellhounds Black dragons Abberant spectre Suqah Kalphites Dark beasts Ice strykewyrms Steel dragons Iron dragons Mithril dragons Then adding wyverns & waterfiends for summoning xp, maybe abyssals/blue dragons/nechryeal for some money. Greaters, fire giants, dusties and gargoyles are all pretty sucky. This is my task list essentially, minus dark beasts and ice strykes since I can't do them yet. Don't you loose a lot of money with slayer this way? (I'm very interested, I like to get slayer levels to 93 done, however as slayer is the only thing I can stand in runescape -apart from dungeoneering/castlewars- I need to make a small profit with it too. You still make decent money. It may seem like you are losing money at times, but you are profiting in the long run.

Intellectual Property
Speaking only for myself, I'm not sure I agree with this reasoning. If someone cannot update something, then someone else makes a derivative of it - someone that is active and can actually keep it up-to-date - and that essentially becomes the new guide. It happens all the time (surprisingly enough) with guides on other forums, more so with programs and programming projects. Just because someone can't update it doesn't mean it should be removed. I just don't agree with that notion. *slinks back to corner* Except he didn't approve of his guide staying and didn't give permission for someone to make a copy of his work. As the tip.it guidelines explicitelly say, you DO give tip.it ownership to copy. I think it's time you do a little research in the matter and then come back. There are so many statements here which disgust me because they show an utter lack of knowlenge about how IP works. Also not giving permession to make copies, or increase the knowlenge of the guide is morally wrong. As it prefents innovation for the group in spite of personal gain. If you had read my earlier posts, I was talking about ethics, not legal rights. I already admitted that Tip.it had the legal right to keep the guide.

So this is the "sticky" issue here - what warrants permission? The Tip.it copyright policy is clearly and standardly laid out in these sorts of cases, and as such, once it is submitted to Tip.it, it effectively becomes theirs, and the onus is on Tip.it to grant the permission. In all honestly, it seems to me that one would lose their rights to a work (e.g. guide, tip, etc) upon posting, per the agreement set forth by Tip.it, which I presume everyone has read. That's the only point I'm arguing - in the legal sense, Tip.it has every right to do whatever they want with the work. Whether or not that's ethical or "right", I'm simply not here to debate that. That's where we separate. I'm looking at the ethical side of this. Technically it was legal for them to keep it up, but it was wrong and disrespectful. It also didn't look very good for tip.it as a whole if the admin refuse to do something because they put their feelings in front of their responsibilities.

He's still the same person that put hours and hours into the guide. His reasons may not be very good, but that doesn't mean TIF has to reject his request on reasons just as bad. And now, following the removal from the forums, it should be clear to everybody that said person did it for personal gain and internet glory. Seeing as said person can't stand having the guide on a forum where said person no longer is allowed access. I see no reason to have the guide removed. Edit: Although I now just read that it has been, my point still stands. He can't update the guide at all. That should be a reason for it to be removed. Also, it wasn't that one guide that is getting him "internet glory."

Is anyone else just completely disappointed with everyone?
Yeah sure. A group of well known tip.iters were frustrated with some of our moderation tactics and the direction of some particular RuneScape boards. A topic and global were created (it still resides in Forum Updates and Suggestions by pal2002). From that a discussion was created with the administrators to discuss change and improvements for the forums. Sadly, some people from both sides of the debate, especially administrators, were not able to let feelings aside to debate the core matters at hand and we ended up fumbling the ball and pushing people away from Tip.It rather than listening and trying to help. Some of these people have now created their own forum to employ their philosophies. It is a shame we were not able to listen to what they had to say, but we are now trying to make any amends we can and ultimately move forward from this having learned a valuable lesson rather than trying to defend ourselves any further. What good would that do anyhow? Most people seem to know we screwed up anyways. :) EDIT: Posts above mine are also accurate  Neither of the parties is exempt from some faults in this. You admitted as an admin that some admins made wrong choices and are partially at fault. I respect that.

TIF is bit over-moderated
Until they flame you, call you an efficiency freak, and/or completely derail the topic... It's happened plenty before.

He was asked politely multiple times to not post in the manner he was posting in and continued to do so. What do this say about him? To me it says he doesn't respect the people who maintain this website for no benefit of their own and then let people use it for free. Wait, so are you openly admitting to claiming ownership of his guide out of SPITE? C'mon, Mike, that's absurd and you know it. We're not claiming ownership of his guide. We're claiming ownership over the post and its contents on our forums. Regardless, spite has nothing to do with it. I'm just pointing out that it's a bit hypocritical to expect us to respect someone's requests when they failed to do so for ourselves. Should the guide have been removed? Probably. But coming in with "You're not respecting his request" is a weak argument. You just admitted that the guide should have been removed. And by saying that since he didn't comply with everything you told him, you don't have to show any respect and do what is right, you aren't being any better. Two wrongs don't make a right...

Fastest Slayer Points
You only need 1 black mask/one slayer helm. No need for multiple :P To those who are asking about why he wants the points, it's actually a good way to go about getting the helm. The faster you get access to the slayer helm, the better.

^That wasn't his question. He wanted to know about points... Use Mazch for 9 tasks, then your highest slayer master for the tenth.

Posts like that are useless and rude to this thread. On another note, do you still get tokens after 200m exp in dung?

Efficiency Trolls
I don't think I've ever seen Golv blatantly insult/degrade someone. Just lots of cynical sarcasm. Seriously? I'll rephrase that: I never found any of Golv's posts to be offensive-- just kind of obnoxious sometimes. Blade's posts, on the other hand... Were blunt but gave helpful advice?

Efficiency Trolls
Wow, such an excellent post from one of my favorite people. However, I must be critical now, so please don't be offended when I ask you to make a list of names of people besides yourself who are qualified to post responses in H&A. You may simply turn the list in with only your name. Finally, please accept this olive branch as a token of my willingness to get to the bottom of this problem of unqualified and ughly posts in H&A. This, guys, is trolling. How is he still around and helpful/efficient people like blade banned?

Wildy sucks
You're a bigger troll than Bladewing was. Just because Blade was very blunt and often posted TRUTHS which the unthinking majority didn't like doesn't make him a troll. Disagreeing =/= trolling. They should have given the choice of free trade and wildy, free trade only, wildy only, or neither. Edit: Damn you, sniped.

Efficiency Trolls
Are you saying even at current prayer potion prices, piety is not worth using? I don't use it. But can do it however you please, but it seems silly to me to have to go out of your way to make money just to do slayer which for most people is a fun skill that makes money. Nah, I'm giving he my usual horrible advice: Have fun while playing runescape it's not a job. This. Is efficiency trolling. Purposely posting bad advice. This should be bannable. Hi Levon, I got an olive branch for you. Thank you for reposting one of my recent trips into help and advice. Despite this being reposted out of context and lacking the original post, you can see what makes me proud. I was curteous and helpful. I even offered a bit of humor to I_troll_Gol. Afterall, do you know how many people got 99 slayer with just a whip, black mask/slayer helm, and super pots? Alot, since overloads, choatic weapons, and all that jazz only came out in the last couple of years. Hmm... kindness kills, a new approach for you golv? Also, simply because something was there first, doesn't make it better. We should use whips and not chaotics since people got 99 with whips before chaotics came out?
