  1. So what your saying if I leave my MTK empty of money and at 0% approval for 6 months then come get 100% approval and add 10mil I can instantly claim a load of stuff?
  2. How do you know there will be a march 2010 BEXP weekend? Just wondering lol. There's been a BEXP every 6 months; he assumes that trend will continue. I'm expecting an autumn one... I'm assuming so is he - but it won't far enough away to do all his MTKness.
  3. I can spot multiple fallacies in this alone. A - There are many other alternative methods in which children could gain confidence, not just through musicals and sporting activities. (Alternative cause) B - Not being confident enough will not necessarily mean that children will regret 'it' in later life (False dilemma) C - It is difficult to justify the consequence from the initial reasoning. (Slippery slope) Please refrain from posting fallacious arguments. The guy above has summed up what I meant. I'm not saying that sport or musical ability is necessary nor is confidence. However I am saying that for a child that lacks the confidence but could enjoy the sport a great deal it is important to make them try - obviously you don't continue to force them to do it if they don't enjoy it. I wasn't talking about not being confident being the thing children regret rather not having tried the activity. I realise there are many other alternatives and you could take the same approach to them with these.
  4. YES! I'm going to love this game I'm sure of it. Morrowind was the first good computer game I ever owned and my game time on Oblivion got near to 80 days! I hope Skyrim has the more expansive feel of Morrowind but with less of the pointlessness and endlessness and also no Cliff thingy's! Basically I can't wait but I might have to buy a new computer for it :P
  5. If a group of amateur hackers can do this what happens when China gets ratty?
  6. I think you should make your kids take part in musical and sporting activites because if they aren't confident and you don't make them they won't and could well regret it a lot in later life.
  7. Equally you could do something like hunting chins as I'm sure you can get most of the things needed fairly easily and as chins stack inventory space is not hugely important. You could do a minigame like stealing creation where equipment is not allowed. Other mini games you don't need any equipment for like conquest or mobilising armies.
  8. You have to have a good honest relationship with your children so they feel comfortable to share most things with you. I think it is important not to force your politics or religious beliefs on your children - however I do think it is important for them to have some sort of spiritual and morale upbringing they should not reach 18 devoid of principles, ethics and totally close-minded to the idea of religion (please note I am an atheist). As to punishment and reward I would go with a more liberal view of parenting and try not to punish them out right but make them understand why what there doing is wrong - difficult at an early age but should certainly be the way things are done post 10. Education is hugely important to make sure they don't permanently damage their chances in life too early on - it is incredibly important to have a good time as a teenager but you have to remember it is only a small portion of your life, it is idiotic to smoke weed for your teenage years as it is the most enjoyable thing then only to become a highly unsuccessful scrounging adult with few meaningful relationships. It is important to give your children the privileges appropriate to them including material and behavioural. You should try not to spoil your children but denying them the latest gadgets is silly although buying them an iPhone, iPad, three consoles, 48 inch TV and personal hooker is probably going too far. You should let them discover the mistakes of excess earlier than later - I am grateful for my parents allowing me the freedom to experiment with alcohol and drugs early on 13 - 15 years old so that by the time school work was becoming more serious I had realised that getting absolutely plastered at every party wasn't sensible or fun. An education of classical and historical idea's is important to show your children the idea that have defined the modern world starting this early with give them a huge advantage in examinations and school work. Teaching of important life skills is also needed - the ability to socialise correctly and effectively, the ability to work hard and stay on task, the ability to make a complete fool of yourself in front of others and try something new. The thing of the utmost importance though is to nurture a child of good social skills who can adapt to socialising with the different groups in society without coming across as overconfident, arrogant or stupid. SHORT VERSION: A liberalistic approach teaching your children important skills and supplying them with the things they need while making sure they retain their humility.
  9. To Eggs, really this is just a rant I don't expect you to do anything about it - I used this forum for what I think it should be used for to let off steam after a frustrating day. I'm not really expecting solutions. But, I get your point theres not much people can do about it in a game like runescape which has such a diverse group including many immature and irritating people. This might be my fault though for how I put my views across.
  10. Well when I used to play castle wars people did barrage but without the same gear it wasn't as accurate but one of the main differences was that people defended outside the castle with a member of your team holding your flag. This meant that that defending became more than just barraging. I can see how barraging is fun and destroying people in your awesome gear is too - part of what I find annoying is the occasional arrogance of people doing it. Like I said though the ability for two or three fully kitted out mages to completely lock down a castle is in my opinion boring for the majority of players because it is very difficult to get past them with any amount of health left unless you yourself are kitted out in Pernix and the like. I suppose I'm agreeing again with Dan here that the high gear has kinda ruined castle wars more open appeal.
  11. Sorry do feel free to edit any incorrect grammar in my post PM me with an altered version and I will gladly change it. :)
  12. Of all time I honestly don't think I'd put Hitler as number 1 even though he is probably deserved of the title for the last 500 years. Equally with stalin I think because these people are relatively modern people forget about the huge genocides that occurred in the past. Having said that I'm still going to have to get back to you on this one.
  13. In my opinion videos are way too long and quite boring. I really don't want a 10 minute bank video - then again thats just me.
  14. Yup your right my mistakes but whatever still valid advice.
  15. Effigies definitely. Also rings of different charges, 7 slots from duel rings, 7 slots from games necklaces, 3 slots from glorys. etc...
  16. I would kill dharok first then karil. I almost always have enough prayer to kill dharok and karil together and sometimes have some left over for ahrim. Dharok should always be prayed against, one mistake at sidestepping and he could kill you in 1-2 hits Kill dharok first if your really new to barrows and have a low defence. But it's a serious mistake to mess up a sidestep and then take two hits from it - you should only ever pray against dharok if your not using ancients or your really new to barrows and totally terrible.
  17. I remember seeing your threads about castle wars a couple of years ago when I was playing it a fair bit so it's good to know someone who played the game a lot and was good at it sees my point of view. I agree with the money thing I've seen people who I used to play with who were incredibly good and now look sub-par because of the incredibly rich players and hugely powerful spec weapons. Also to calcarb I have no problem with killing monsters its more irritating 'people' I'm not yet bored enough to start skilling!
  18. This is not a rant about efficiency people no longer talking to their friends so please read on. I decided to have a bit of a muck around time in runescape for the last 2 hours and went to Clan Wars, Castle wars and for some funning at the duel arena. At castle wars a game I used to love it was full of cading pkers - this game has gone from a game of skill to how many ancients you can stick outside the spawn room and how quickly you can put down a cade. Nobody DG's anymore, nobody defends outside anymore everybody just sits there barraging away or clawing away calling people trying to play capture the flag noobs. I then moved onto clan wars something I'd previously found fun and this was full of the same kind of people admittedly clan wars is definitely a pking game but the arrogance of the people here, the piling the boring one sided kills are just annoying. Then I thought I'd go try out the duel arena and it had the same problem again, people melee protect in 'fun' duels people who freeze you then run away to farcast all perfectly reasonable tactics in the wildy but when I just want some fun seeing what my specs can hit and who I can beat I really can't be bothered with this! Basically what is wrong with a majority of the RS population that they have to use whatever boring tactics to prove that they are better than you - and then to top it all off gloat at you because in their superb gear, much higher stats, eating, farcasting world they managed to beat a noob in welfare gear who isn't too interested in showing off just how wonderful he is! Please comment.
  19. I'm in the process of getting Elite void with both the range helm and melee helm. I was just wondering if there was anywhere the magic helm was better than Ahrim's fot instance, basically is it worth getting?
  20. According to Quyneax's link it's only going to cost me about 15 - 18M which is less than I was imagining and take about 30 hours which is dull but probably well worth it for a pack yak. Thanks for the advice guys.
  21. Considering I don't need the experience in any of the combat skills. Are you telling me that black demons are better crimsons than rock lobsters? Otherwise I'd rather stick with rock lobsters.
  22. How many ice barrages would it take to gather crimsons for 81 - 96 summoning? How long would this take? Thanks for your help.
  23. If you do a lot of Bandos then the CLS is probably worth it over one of the shields. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the shields various uses although I will say if you ever manage to afford a ely or a divine you won't be using it.
  24. Use rocktails bring more prayer potions. As soon as you can buy ahrim's robeskiry and karil's top this will allow for much better accuracy on the melee brothers and easy tanking of ahrim. This should be your run: Kill karil prayer protect range and piety/turmoil spec him out quickly. Kill dharok, verac, guthan and torag with sidestepping taking no damage unless your silly/lag/make a mistake. Tank ahrim speccing him out as well. Move onto which ever tunnel brother following same tactics as if they were in crypt. Repeat taking one sip of prayer potion before Karil to see you through - this is all that is needed. With an inventory of 5+ Prayer potions and the rest rocktails you should be able to stay a lot, lot longer than 4-5 chests.
  25. I care more about my health than my weight although fat is something I do care about that I wouldn't want too much of. I want to study medicine and in one of my work experiences did some observation in the local hospital's A&E what you Americans call ER. I got to watch a appendectomy on a seriously overweight teenager and not only the difficulty that the fat caused in the surgery but also how disgusting it was to see the surgeons pulling it apart to get to the operational area - it seriously made me see just how bigger a problem excess fat is even if it isn't causing direct problems to your health, it makes everything more risky, everything more difficult and the long term health effects on both your joints, your circulatory system and in some cases mental health make it well worth the effort to lose excess fat. That being said if your happy with your weight and your healthy then don't become ill over losing it - it is more important to eat well than lose weight. The misconception in western culture that being thin is healthy is just wrong there are plenty of thin people who can suffer high blood pressure and raised cholesterol from eating badly.
