Combat stats
Begin slaying to 99. That will knock your melees out of the way. Piety all tasks to speed things up. It helps, even if you're not going to be slaying for several hours straight. Cannon all tasks that you can. That helps take care of your range and speeds up slayer even more. Some tasks break even with cannon, so cost really isn't an issue. I would advise saving for 95 prayer if you can, but if not, no big deal. I'm almost 99 slayer and only 75 pray. Sure turmoil would have sped things up a bit, but I'm poor and piety worked for me. I say that because you said you really don't care for DG. I didn't either for the longest time, but when I finally decided to go for it, I got 58-85 DG in two weeks, which really wasn't that bad. Rapier will speed things up tremendously, and you'll be glad you did it. But... if you refuse to get it, use Korasi for str training with ddef, and get all your melees level'd. Then you can move on to controlled whip if you'd like. I see you have extremes, so use those on every task. Use wolpertinger (92 summon) as soon as you manage to get it to begin maging select tasks if you've maxed melees and want to catch your mage up. Wolpertinger gives +7 magic boost so you'll be able to fire surge which is very nice with FSH and in Kura's dung or on Ice Strykes. I mage abby demons and ice strykes only now, so that I can slowly catch my mage up, works pretty well. Also: don't stop at 85 slayer for money-making through abbys. They're not that great of money anymore, and you'll make more in the long run if you continue to train slayer. Ice strykes make way more than abbys do, and it also gives you a headstart on any future slayer monsters with high reqs that Jagex may release.

Can't type on RS
Strange. I had the same problem yesterday. My guess would just be lag in one of the worlds he was in. I was in W44 yesterday and the game was playing fine but it wouldn't let me type and ended up not letting me interact with my inventory (drinking ppots, ect). Try other worlds?

Jad on slayer assignment
I haven't done with melee, but I heard it's harder. I think you have the idea down though from what I've heard. Range would be easier imo. If you have troubles with the healers and would like to not have to bother with them at all, you can do what I did to get my cape. Just switch over to deflect prayers and when you get to Jad and "deflect" him to death. So long as you don't actually attack him yourself, the healers won't come, and it's pretty easy going. Just depends on how well you can pray switch. I did the trip in super ghetto gear. FSH, prossy top and bottom, fury, snake books, no shield slot or ring lol, and rune cbow w/ broads. I used 1 range pot, 4 brews, and 7 super rests, so I had enough to do B2B jad if I wanted. Switched to holy symbol and SW cape at jad for longer prayer.

Frost dragons kill rate
This summer I plan on camping frosts long enough so that I've got a 1B cash stack by the beginning of fall so I can take care of all buyables. A few questions: 1. What is the kills/hr right now with piety (see below for other specs)? I have a pathetic prayer level right now, so I will using the first 12k bones to get my hands on 95 prayer so I can get an increased kill rate. 2. Are summoning potions required for yakking if I'm just going to be using piety? I read Xpx's guide but noticed he assumed "no" but hadn't tried it himself due to obvious inefficiency. 3. I know 1 yak spec bar = 5 banks (60/12), how often do familiars restore the 15 spec bar pts? Equipment setup: Neitiznot Fury BCP Tassets D-boots Zerker ring D-Def Rapier Barrows gloves SW cape Inventory: Cannon, cballs, 4 extreme sets, 4 antifires, yak scrolls. Possibly EEE (see below), or food? Yak: 1 yak pouch, 29 ppots. *EEE: I don't currently have this, but heard the special is good. I'm not sure exactly what it does or what the requirements for it are (isn't it an elite diary)? I'm sure shark drops can suffice for the rest. *All of the above are not set in stone, just what I assumed may work with my current levels/set up. I'm disregarding summoning pots as mentioned, and hoping that 15 spec. bar pts (yak) are restored every 20 seconds or so? Thanks.

100 Effigies
Thanks. Do you happen to know of a thread on TIF that displays the best current xp/hr for nonbuyables? I thought Grimy's sheets were mainly for gp/hr statistics on buyables only.

Planning ahead!
Get members. F2P pure with those stats would be a huge waste of time. If all you're going to do is pk then dw about 70+ noncombats, just level what you need for quests. I don't have a pure nor do I pk so idk what the "setup" of quests and techniques that you'll use is... but I would just either go with a members pure, or just begin to make a main that pks lol.

100 Effigies
I plan on finishing 99 slayer before the next two weeks. I currently have 83 effigies banked, and plan on having 100 after 99 slayer + a good deal of time spent at frosts. What would you advise spending them on? I plan on obtaining the required skill levels to open all of the effigies myself, but wanted to get other opinions before I get the levels. I was originally planning on just trying to purchase most of the buyable effigy skills to open them, but not sure if it would be better to level up the longer skills. Money isn't an issue when I have it, as I don't mind blowing it all on skills. Only problem is I'm not crazy rich so I can't afford many buyables. Are some non-buyables faster/more feasable to train that buyables? What would you use all the lamps on? I have a feeling a lot of people will say RC, so what level would be "optimal" before using on RC so I'm not "wasting" xp if I were to do that? TL;DR I'll have 100 effigies before too long, and I'm getting the skills myself to open them. What opening skills would you choose, and what would you use lamps on?

Range and Melee Slayer
Wolpertinger's scroll gives you a +7 magic boost when used, so it's helpful when casting spells above your normal level. Also, iirc, each boosted level above the required spell level requirement adds 3% damage. Ex: I'm 94 mage. I use wolper atm for fire surge and 101/94 mage, which gives me +18% mage damage. If I'm wrong somebody feel free to correct me.

How much is Runescape's entertainment worth to you?
Haha that is weird. I was reading the newer posts and saw my sig with a "what the hell?" under it and was like what did I do wrong? (other than the fact most of my noncombats suck and my prayer is embarassing). But that is weird. Almost +/- 3 on all skills o.O OT: There's a lot more people than I thought that play the game just habitually... at least more than myself. Chances are I would play for quite a time and put up with quite a bit of BS from Jagex seeing as I just feel I've put too much time and effort into the game to just quit over an update. Jagex would have to completely and utterly destroy the game beyond playability or charge an outrageous price for what they give out for me to quit. Chances are RL issues will be the end of my playtime. God knows when that's going to happen.

Range and Melee Slayer
Both of us just told you how to get started... but I guess you can't help the unwilling. Use dragon darts. they're cheap. Wear dragonhide if you're cheap. Use ahrims, zammy book/mages book, infinity boots, arcane stream necklace, FSH

How much is Runescape's entertainment worth to you?
You're totally wrong. I spend X amount of money for Y amount of gaming hours. If I play 300 hours in 1 month and none during the other, and pay $6 for each, in the end I still paid $12 for 300 hours of game time. If your argument is that the price is too high because I don't play during some months - guess what, I consistently play a fair bit of time each month. If not, I cancel my subscription. I'm sure it's not just you, but consider this. As far as I can see your lowest level is 67, which means you've invested quite a bit of time into each skill - though more into some than others. Have you ever thought "I hate this skill, I don't want to train it"? If the answer is yes, guess what - that much time was wasted not actually having fun, however you go around it. Have you ever done cooking semi-AFKing while watching a movie (for example)? In that case, it wasn't RuneScape that gave you the entertainment, but the movie or whatever. Of course, if every single moment of your RuneScape career was spent having fun, then RS is a pretty great investment for you, but I doubt that's so. Sadly most of my "skills" are low due to the fact that I enjoy slayer/combat more atm. I levelled most of them just enough for quest requirements, some others just because I was bored. The fact for me though is that I do things in RS that I may find boring at the time, but because I believe the reward at the end is worth it. Example would be when I went for my fire cape (7th attempt) last night. I dreaded going to fc in the past, but after finally getting it, I was definitely glad I did. Same goes with 85 DG and numerous other skills. TL:DR, some people find that satisfaction gained from acheiving level/item X > time/effort put into gaining it. It's different for everyone.

How much is Runescape's entertainment worth to you?
Maybe it's just me, but I don't really find playing Runescape "inefficient". I pay about 5 cents an hour to have fun. Sounds like a deal to me.

How much is Runescape's entertainment worth to you?
I had the idea that if charges were say, doubled to about $12 a month, that it would get rid of quite a few bots, but I'm not sure. If so, then it would really be killing two birds with one stone imo. Jagex makes more money and many botters would quit. There would obviously still be botters... but far less I would guess. I just keep thinking of all of the possibilities for the future of RS. I try to be optimistic about it's survival, but sometimes I think Jagex doesn't realize how much opportunity the game still has. I keep wondering if a massive overhaul of a subscription to Runescape membership would help anything. -> More employees -> ^ that listen to what the players actually want in an update -> Much harsher penalties for botters, and more effort put in overall into an attempt to stop it. -> Better graphics, ect. The list goes on an on when I think about it for a while. I just don't think Jagex realizes that if they were to invest more money into the game to make it a better atmosphere than it is now, that people wouldn't mind paying a bit more.

What do i do?
Just do slayer. You will (in a way) raise your melee stats that need work, as well as range (if you cannon), and get summoning levels also without even realizing it. I'm almost 98 slayer and got 99% of the charms for 96 summ from my tasks. It's much easier to do imo than camping for blues or crims.

Range and Melee Slayer
I recently started maging/ranging too. I wanna be done when I hit 99 slayer. I mage ice strykes, abby demons, and gargs with fire surge (wolpertinger for 15-18% damage boost) I range (with dragon darts) greater demon tasks. Sometimes gargs, depending on how I'm feeling. Also cannon all tasks you can. Also, if you have trouble with healers on Jad, you can try just using deflect prayers to do 100% of the damage. That makes it so they don't come, all you gotta do is prayer switch :D (Do those tasks mentioned earlier in Kuradel so you're getting best bang for your buck) EDIT: Noticed you're only 85 mage. I would suggest getting to 89 first using another method (try casting a different surge). At that point get 1 more summoning lvl for wolpertinger, and take that to tasks so you can use it's boost to get 96/95 mage, and start fire surge. XP comes rather quickly from then on.

How much is Runescape's entertainment worth to you?
I began to think about how cheap Runescape membership really is. Seeing that I spend lots of time playing the game, I'm amazed that I only have to pay ~$6 a month for countless hours of gameplay. It began to make me think, could Jagex make more money by charging just a bit more a month for membership? Think of all the people that play and how often they do. Some people are receiving a hundred or more hours of entertainment a month for less than 6 cents an hour which is very cheap imo. Sure, it would shoo away some customers, but would also bring in more money obviously due to the vaste amount of people that would continue to play. So I propose two questions: 1. (Poll), how much would you be willing to pay to continue playing Runescape? 2. *Theoretically speaking, how much do you think Jagex could get away with charging if they were to increase prices, so that they made more money each month? *In no way am I proposing that Jagex should do this. I'd rather continue to pay only ~$6 a month, but if Jagex ever were to increase monthly fees, $20 a month would be my max I'd be willing to pay for membership. What about you?

Kuradal's Slayer Challenge
Range lvl? I just did this challenge last night. Did it ghetto too. Fury, prossy, not even a shield. Slay helm ofc. Used like 3 brews, 6 restores, 1 range pot. Switched to sw cape and holy symbol at jad. killed him 100% with deflects. Makes the healers not come.
