  1. All my statements can be confirmed if you lurk in websites that cannot be mentioned here. Your assumption is wrong. I don't give a rat's ass if half of the population bots; It only makes things easier for me, since I have buyables to max. Now, what I think of botting and what I expect Jagex to do are two different things. Jagex promised a solution, so I've been lead to believe they are working on one, and if I am giving them my money I like to know what they do with it. I'm also not petty enough to sell my real friends out on a videogame because of things that don't matter to me personally. This was also a nice deflection from the original argument for which you also fail to provide evidence to back up.
  2. The "strange power" you felt when the mahjarrat was sacrificed... Did it happen when Lucien died? If so, I guess we know what happened to Bilrach... If not, is it possible that we were also rejuvinated by the ritual?
  3. Problem is, Java is easily reverse engineered, so I doubt they could halt bots on their tracks permanently due to no client access.
  4. I have friends who bot. They are carefull, and many of them have stats over 90 100% botted, none of them was rolled back. I've watched the cheating community for years. They hold contests for those who can bot the longest without consequences, and most of them suffer nothing from DAYS of botting in a row. Some have very impressive records. From my analisys of what goes on in the cheating community, a person getting rolled back is actually a rare to non existing experience for the average botter who does 5~7hours of botting a day. And no, nothing is done. You think rollbacks mean something to a botter? In the event that they do happen, which is rare, they can just bot up their stats again. If you back up a couple years from now, botting used to be a permaban offence with no appeal. Now you can even buy back your account if you happen to get banned, in some cases. Jagex has gotten lenient AND blind sighted, and the cheating that goes on rampant is the living, breathing proof of it. My "guesswork" isn't entirely "guesswork", since I know how both bots and botters work. To be sure that a punishment has been delivered, you'd have to add the bot and periodicly check his highscores (if he's entirely gone or his stats have been reduced, your report was efficient), else you are the one doing the guesswork.
  5. You do know that you reports/min are capped, right? I'm not completely sure you play this game, because it is literally impossible to report every bot in a major location in under 30 minutes. And bots you report don't get banned, they get their stats reduced. Not seeing them after a few days is a coincidence or simply... the odds? Because bots do change worlds and log off once in a while, but you know that, right?
  6. Man, I wouldn't mind at all going bossing with you.
  7. It means more than that, especially when the word "noob" has been washed out of its meaning for decades.
  8. Hacking, maybe. Some hackers are known to bot on members account for days on end, transfer the stuff and then finally log out.
  9. Yeah, I didn't have the full details on that. And I guess revamping the ID system would probably take too much manpower and resources to be a viable answer.
  10. Jesus christ I laughed... Are you sure that's what you mean? Because I don't think you mean what that word actually represents.
  11. True. The lore and quests are also far above those of other MMOs, in my opinion, obviously.
  12. I don't know how their current system is built, but they should work on a model that allows them to make invisible, uninteractible(?) objects within the game with the IDs of legit things, like dragons and trees.
  13. Point is, remains exist. Maybe you'll have to invade their castle in the future and bring some kind of relic or remain to the past.
  14. It seems like you didnt get my sarcasm so it looks like Ill have to explain it to you........Unless you actually work there and know this for a fact then you can make up all the conspiracy theories you want and save them for those who actually believe them. No, I got what you meant. But you're still wrong. All that I've said is verifiable by either logic, mod experience or just common sense. I'd like you to tell me which of my points sound far fetched or "conspiratory", and why.
  15. Somebody smuggle in a camera, I'm interested in many of the isssues in insider sections, as well as the one about the "future of runescape".
  16. There are dragonkin remains near daemonheim in the wilderness.
  17. I'm talking about restrictions in the way they act, not time restrictions. Obviously they'll have those if they reserve a fraction of their time to moderating. I'm not jumping at anyone, but whether you agree with me or not is irrelevant unless your points are sound. So, it does look like I'll have to explain it to you. Reporting is technically sound because, technically, reports on wrong-doers will be acted upon. This is rendered invalid by many factors; Whether it be Jagex taking no action at all, too many wrong-doers to practically and efficiently report AND the insufficient manpower that Jagex apparently has in dealing with enormous quantities of reports. It's a flawed system made worse by bad decisions (or good, depending on your point of view) from Jagex. Currently, reporting does close to nothing, and as pointed out, excessive reports can and will get you demoded for nothing due to the hydra effect.
  18. Reports are technicaly sound but practicaly useless. I'll let you figure out for yourself what that means.
  19. Really? By whom are they restricted? Where can I find their restrictive rules of conduct? Oh, what's that? I can't? Then I can't assume they have them. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I have to assume they do not.
  20. Yes, that is how it works currently.
  21. But that's not true. Maybe it is your percieved view on the matter, but the fact is that mods and regular players have the exact same rules to follow. Mods aren't "above the rest of the community".
  22. I've met one of the previous #1's in real life, and I still don't know how he did it.
  23. Yes they do. I've received legit e-mails on changing the registered e-mail of an account. I've also received several other confirmation e-mails, all legit. They don't, however, send you mail with your blackmarks or "warnings".
  24. You'd most likely have to use a custom client, like the ones bots use. But it is possible.
  25. Don't forget that there are 3 pairs. So the chances would be 3/250.
