DIY costs as much as buying the items. You could just sell the items and use them for PVP. By using DIYed items for training secondary skills you are reducing their value and therefore losing money. It is a pure illusion that DIY doesn't cost anything.

You're assuming newbies know there is a manual or even fansites, and I'm pretty sure the tut island was no-where near as helpful as it is now. If they don't know there is a manual, they must be blind. Above the "Click here to play" and "Create a free account" links there is a menu bar: Home - Play now - Account - Game Guide - Community - Help - Log in. For fansites, Google exists.

Do you realise that you need to double the casting time to hit 62 with magic? Double casting time, double damage = comboing makes no difference. Same damage per minute as with non-comboing. Remember to count all the delays, also the delay after the spell. You aren't going to knock anyone out with slow 60. You would need to do it (30+30) in the speed of DDS special. DDS special takes one round, while a magic combo takes two rounds. Please, you haven't tried to magic combo. It takes two rounds but the damage splats SHOW UP AS ONE ROUND. Good luck trying to eat through that. I have tried comboes. Looks don't matter, only damage per time matters. Hit-eat-hit-eat or eat-hit-hit-eat. What's the difference? Remember that you can't KO anyone with 60 damage in 2 rounds unless you PJ or your character is a low level pure mage.

The easiest way of getting adamantite bars isn't mining adamantite ore and coal and smelting them, but killing aviansies. Mithril ore comes from cockroaches. This is another problem in mining - the items gathered with the skill aren't unique to the skill.

Meleers and rangers have the ability of 1-hitting, so they don't need to freeze. The max damage of magic (32) is nowhere near 1-hitting, but more like 40-hitting (the enemy's food must be wasted before you can get a kill with magic). The freezing ability of mages don't really mean much even to a meleer, since there is immunity time after the freezing effect wears off. During that time you can 1-hit the mage (mages don't have much melee defence).

I also think it is best to fish and cook monks and that's what I do, but that's not the fastest way to get your fishing and cooking levels up. The difference is that the power grinder will end up with less cash than the casual player, but will achieve his goals faster. From that point on, it's mainly a matter of opinion and how you like to play the game. The powergrinder can use the time he saved for the most efficient way of making money. Most likely the powergrinder will get more XP and more money in the same amount of time than a self-sufficient player. The most efficient way of training cooking is sharks, but it is not efficient for making money and training fishing.

The GE is already enough communistic/socialistic. No more limits should be added. Even the current limits are enough to kill the market of some items, such as harpoons (for ibis) and raw bird meat (for spirit terrorbird).

According to your sig, you have 77 ranged. That's enough to kill aviansies at god wars dungeon. Sell or alch the drops (depending on the dropped item), buy gold and smelt them into bars, having the goldsmithing gauntlets equipped.

Dragonhide armour pieces are defence items. Not ranged. Even though dragonhide armour gives offensive ranged bonus, you must use a ranged weapon to use the bonus. You're not able to inflict ranged damage just with the armour. To be a hybrid, you must use ATTACKS from at least two different combat styles. Unless you consider a character with armour and a melee weapon to be a hybrid of melee and defence.

RWT is not a problem if throw away accounts and stolen credit cards aren't used. Throw away accounts are low level and have smaller limits, which makes them useless for real world trading. So what if high level accounts RWT? High level accounts are rarer than level 3s, so it's easier to banhammer high level RWTers. An account paid with a stolen credit card will not survive for long time enough to become high level.

Self sufficiency = inefficiency = more grinding = no fun. What's the point of doing something that makes 50k/hour if you have the ability to make 500k/hour and buy 10x amount of the 50k/h items in the same amount of time?
