  1. It always disappears if it hits 0
  2. It's how their news system works posts and timestamped as when they are actually written, they just remain hidden until launch; nearly every update the news post will be like 8-15 hours ago when it first appears
  3. I like how the Ancient Staff is totally jagexed into the task set. Kill a desert strykewyrm with one? They are stab weak jamflex! STAB. They use ranged attacks and are strongest against magic. So WHY oh WHY must we will them with a stave equipped, not to mentioned the fact we also have to be wearing a slayer helm with 50 scrolls in it for no apparent reason.
  4. Don't trust anything that the wikia reads until it has been confirmed with a screenshot. Two days ago I saw Scythe, Bowl and Pincers captains on there for 20k, 45k, 100k chimes respectively, which was deleted day after. Yesterday I saw Oxhead & Horseface stats as 750 Morale, 1200 combat with Rallying Cry. We don't even know it truly exists by this point. We do know it exists, we have screenshots from users in this very thread. Edit wait you were talking of the solidarity guy, my bad.
  5. If you look at potential per slot he sucks as soon as you start levelling up. It's all well a good comparing base stats but you have to consider levelling. Levelling is done based on percentage of the base stat, therefore he only gains 1 per stat for every 2 normal crew get, so as levels grow his use diminishes. He starts at being 1/2 a normal crew in 3 stats but he'll progress towards 1/4 of a normal crew, his potency just drops out.
  6. Well all I can say is personal experience within the past 3-4 months it hasn't been picking up my broad bolts but it has picked up my royal bolts and I'm more inclined to believe what I have seen with my own eyes than what a wiki says when it entirely contradicts what I've seen happening.
  7. It doesn't; it never has because they aren't metal enough (which of course makes sense when arrows have a worse wood:metal ratio -.-) and it's easy enough to see when using them. Task with broad bolts you end up with like 5+ bolts piled up under each monster + equipped bolts go down 1 per shot. Task with Royals you end up with like 1 or 2 bolts under monster if any + equipped bolts go down 1 like every 3 or 4 shots.
  8. If anything I think they need to inverse what it does. eg the ghost guys all have a 'previous life' trait that gives the base stats of what they used to be opposed to currently where their traits carry over so they keep their personal bonuses but lose all their base/lvl up stats. That way it might nerf the crew short-term (as they are basically lvl 0 again) but they are useful and with a few voyage could be back on par.
  9. Pretty much got it with Royals. Eoc changed things up before broads were among the strongest bolts and by far the best dmg:cost ratio. Now broads have like 1/2 the damage of royals (at 1/2 the cost) so in direct buying dmg:gp is the same for both, but royals have 2 distinct advantages: 1) Higher dmg per bolt means faster kills 2) Ava's devices actually pick them up (where as it doesn't for broads) This means in the long run royals cost less because you get more than 1 shot per bolt without having to waste time picking them up AND the faster kills for slayer or w/e means more kills an hour which means more profit per hour. As for other things to do I don't think there is anything in the same vein that is profitable.
  10. Wait what? Could even add in the Tiger-riders since they are technically a tiger AND a rider
  11. Is it just meh or does the Pincer crew in terms of imagining these are real people on a real boat seem like utterly useless crew. You got travelling musicians, blokes riding tigers (that look awful like lions and chimeras in the picture) and fortune tellers...none of these sound like particularly useful sailors.
  12. Nothing exacerbates me more than when people use that word wrong. POP has contributed to me never wanting to make another account again. Runescape has received so much content over the years that if I started from scratch it would literally take me years to get to where I am again. If I somehow lost my account, I think would the hint and quit. Well spotted, I got my exacerbate and exasperate muddled; always a sucker with those two.
  13. In what way? In that they don't show up an awful lot. Crew for each region have become progressively rarer, a factor only exasperated by the fact of the further you get the more possible crew u can roll; in the case f Pincer apparently the jump is quite significant.
  14. Ports are totally trolling me with cool names vs stupid names. Yesterday 100 charm Nga Tsai - cool name. Today 10k Noodler Teach - seriously? That's actually a step down from my other 10k who is Be-Ever-Humble Rackam
  15. I have never been taught to write an analogy like that and I have studied English right through to degree level, in fact I'd probably get marked down for writing it like that opposed to using actual words.
  16. The irony of crit hits, particularly on autoattacks is they often trigger on a cruddy hit so your like woo 600 crit hit when I just hit you for 800 for my last 3 attacks -.- To add a bit more context when you see the big coloured numbers that is a crit hit. Orange for melee, blue for mage, green for range
  17. Most of the convictions Jagex got had little to do with ToS - it had to do with intellectual property rights, copyright infringement and the like.
  18. I have found Sea witches to be extremely usefull, not sure about jade golems dont have any so far. Judges are kickass haha Regarding the pincers having 1200 base stat crew, seems a little low doesnt it? I mean, at this rate crew will be lvl 10 by the time I hit the pincers and will outclass them by far :P That may be true, but the same has been true (to varying degrees) of every region. We always had to get new crew to lvl 3-4 to outclass high lvl prior crew but in the end its worth it as they trump people. Think it's just a case moving into pincer particularly to like get 1 of each (replacing the weakest you have) then once they have a few levels and outclass some more folks get another set and so on and so forth. That way you avoid denting your possible scores too heavily in 1 swoop, but equally future proof the crew.
  19. Here's hoping they don't have to do a a post-release patch to make it 'Kill Sunfreet (Or deploy your dom marker having already killed Sunfreet)' like they have with prior tasks where they are kind a pita but theres an easy check/way to prove it's been done previously.
  20. I think he means that Nex compares to the KQ in that they were hard bosses that dropped gear that was more or less cosmetic because of how rare and valuable it was, while Barrows/KK drop gear that isn't as valuable in the long run, but is accessible enough that most of the community uses it for their day-to-day combat. I thought that but then I got confused by his release dates (I assume they are dates), since not one of them came out in 2012 or 2006. Sep 2004 - KQ May 2005 - Barrows Jan 2011 - Nex Jan 2013 - KK I assume what he really meant was: Nex is 2011's answer to 2004's KQ - Gear that only the elites can get due to quite hard boss ensuring high price tag Similarly KK is 2013's answer to 2005's Barrows - Gear that will be everyday use, but poses a reasonably challenge to get and hold a moderate price tag most can afford with a bit of saving.
  21. Unless Jagex fudged something Nex gloves aren't an issue since they are better than Dom ones (or were pre-tweaks this week). Also in terms of of armour the defence curve makes PoP significantly better, enough to be worth it. 6999 def, 1920 lp on torva plate vs 8102 def and 2016 lp on the tradable Tetsu body vs 8932 def and 2040 lp on untradable tetsu body.
  22. I have to agree with above I REALLLLLLLLLY don;t follow the logic of risk of lose = harder. I mean if you risked losing your gear if you died to a goblin in Lumbridge would that goblin be any harder to kill? Not really it does nothing to the difficulty to beat the monster, to me this is like when people claim skills like slayer are 'hard' because they take a long while to train - utter nonsense because they are unrelated spectrums.
  23. It seems to happen when you reload the port area in my experience. So basically stand in the port from 11:59 to ship return and you might be able to do it, not sure if the loads when u enter interfaces will trip the change.
  24. Seems odd that adventurer rewards are so set then the story payouts seem randomised.
  25. I've still only ever seen 2 10ks. A Speed guy i couldn't afford and didn't want and a slow-leveling Morale one from hook. Really want a cmb one and seafaring one.
