  1. Yeah pures in general are a much risky game in EoC. Say you were some kind of pure with ur highest combat stat being 99 str and then having low hp, att etc etc and say 50 def. You'd be combat level 151. Do you know who else might be level 151? A player with 99 att, str, hp, prayer, ranged, mage, summoning and 50 def.
  2. You mean the xp reward that we were told we would get 'after the 19th'? No, at 8pm uk time on Sunday the 18th no-one has received the xp reward promised after the 19th.

I don't think it'd be too bad seeing as Jagex have openly said they dislike the idea of consumable ammo and in the future hope to move away from it in both ranged and magic to further equalise comparative running costs of each class. And it's not like they haven't already nuked magic costs with the rune reductions. Heck air staff = air surge sorted; the almost inevitable eventual arrival of the missing 3 combo staves (mist, dust and smoke) would give us 1 slot infinite casts on the other 3 surge spells too.
  4. I don't have any personal experience but all my clan mates are reporting they can't recharge the ones from pre update; though it is feasible this is due to doubles in at least some cases.
  5. A note to this is: Pendants gained BEFORE the update on the 14th are technically entirely different items. They will become 'depleted pendants' and die. Pendants gained AFTER the update won't deplete, they remain as a pendant of x but empty of charges. Plus you can only own (either on ur person, bank or diango) 1 of each pendant now. So 1 pen of def, 1 prized of def etc. Prismatic ones cannot be transformed into a pendant you already own.
  6. I'm wondering how level my-x will pan out. If you still need to kinda swap gear for the next tier at various points it will seem kinda pointless until the top end one. If it levels with you all the way from level 1 to level 99 and matchs things of similar tier it risks making every other weapon/armour/tool entirely redundant especially as they talk of allowing us to put special abilities/effects into these as they level. I think the most logical balance would be incorporating the systems eg your bronze scimitar gathers special effects etc but reaches a limit and using the same smith req as making an iron scimitar you re-forge it into and iron and so on and so forth though in the upper tiers like dragon and chaotic they'd have to be something a bit more to it. So kinda like you could just buy a chaotic and be awesome with it OR you could train a weapon to its limits all the way through from bronze to chaotic and thus have the awesome chaotic with a bunch of effects/extras that u just can't get from starting 'cold' as it were at chaotic.
  7. Rs uses very little bandwidth; hours of gameplay are a few kb at most. Streaming videos takes a shit ton of bandwidth. Streaming a video you basically have to download the same data as when you download a video file to watch later. In standard definition the average 30min video is usually around 150mb (newer formats are bringing this down but its still a good benchmark to be aware of). If you are streaming you are still downloading close to the same amount of data.

  9. They rather clearly covered that in the video. They said rune mysteries only made sense as an unlock for runecrafting and they were getting rid of that and as such this quest was a replacement exploring the lore of the wizard's tower not a direct remake/rework in the way Doric's and Ozan's were.
  10. The guy in the video said they were the 4 founding wizards of the tower I thought. Yeah it was said as 4 founding wizards that each came from a different faction of magic. Guthix Seems to be holding an earth spell/summon obelisk and a log of some sort, zamorak a fire, saradomin is ringed in water; the 4th symbol-less woman is being blown by wind. Also Sara and symbol free are women, zammy and guthix are men; so they r deffo the wizards not the gods. Though I do wonder if it goes deeper than that in that guthix has possible mini-obelisk so could be summoning and herblore (magical earth related arts); Zamoraks flame is like combat magic, Sara water is maybe some sort of enchantment/healing magic which would leave the 'forbidden art' to be whatever skill air magic was about. Also of note in what they are holding. Guthix has the log eg a resources. Air has a wand. Zammy has a staff and Sara has just his hands. Again kinda suggesting different styles of magic using resources or wands or staves or just yourself. Also in concept art of Ariane smashing through the floor in magical glow the glow seems to be sectioned, red at the back, green and blue to the sides and pink at the front. So that'd be the 4th wizards colour possibly. Also towards the end when you see the 4 founders around table (about the follow up quest) you can see they match the statues, 2 men at back with red and green trimmed robes, two women at front with blue and white trimmed robes, this also shows the four in red,green,blue,white light pillars collectively forming a pink central magic light thing. So perhaps the 'forbidden' art is some 5th element formed from the 4.
  11. Can't think of any other profitable smithing methods off the top if my head, but I'm sure there are 1 or 2 to do with platebodies and such. The only advice I'd give is if you intend to do cannonballs to 99 do enough of the Morytania tasks to unlock the double speed cannon balls at port phasmytas furnace and do it there. But as loreal already covered in terms of metagame you are better off getting the 99 as fast as possible and making money other ways for overal time vs profit rates.
  12. Tbf the coverage is pretty good on this one. Uk, USA, Eu, Nz, Aus and Canada all that really leaves is South America, Asia and Africa a lot of which is kinda ruled out due to 3rd world/poverty/lacking computers kinda areas anyway so I'd imagine it's hard to find stores to carry the cards.

In theory it is possible to backtrack an ip to an exact-ish location as long as that ip is in current use at that location, as soon as it ceases to be used (eg go offline or changes to dynamic ip) you'd only be able to back track to a rough geographical area at best. But it is certainly not that easy at all and probably not quite so accurate as a precise address. I think shows tend to lean more towards Ip used to back track to a users computer then use the computers inbuilt location tools (most modern computers can locate themselves using wifi triangulation etc.) to an exaggerated gps-style degree to report the location. In the same vane as how a phone company can remotely activate gps/mobile signal triangulation tracking on your phone at police request (in most countries) to allow you to be traced.
  14. I'm finding doing c6 small solo floors in place of c1 rushes quite enjoyable. Not overly worrying about dying etc, but at the same time not dying too much; I've never been brilliant timewise but I'm averaging around 10 minutes a floor and at 42 prestige netting a good 10k-ish a floor. Not sure if its worth it meta-game wise but I prefer it to c1 rushs tbh and the xp is certainly a nice boon.
  15. At the whole debate about 'im qutting' being a worthwhile post: They serve the purpose of being useless and allowing whiners to inflate their statistics. It's like good old RSOF suggestions - people see a few hundred whiners (who are by nature more vocal than the content) and are like omg everybody hates it. But lets sit back and consider REAL numbers. We passed 5m accounts earlier this year, let's assume the negative people's views are true and only like 10% of those are real people, that's still 500,000 accounts. You are saying 'everyone' hates it and that 1 more posting saying so may make a point based on seeing maybe 500 people say they hate it. That's only 1%, what about the other 99% who have not moaned about it? Whilst not perfectly accurate to assume they all like the change it's a safe bet the majority are at least ok with the fact it's gonna happen cause they aren't moaning. Scale things back up to a more realistic level and assume a good 60% of the 5m accounts are real that'd leave us with 3m accounts and those 500 whiners you saw that account for 'everybody' is only 0.02%. Plus of course there is the factor raised by others: They gave us a beta for the express purpose of allowing us to give feedback. Saying 'I hate it' or 'I'm qutting' is vague and does not achieve anything because you haven't given any details Jmods could possibly use to build on it. Plus I find a lot of the haters utter sell outs in that a good 50% of them have barely touched the beta, if at all and simply hate it because they do not understand the system; a point compounded by the fact that most of the haters in my clan when 'forced' onto the beta to do the tutorial to get the xp suddenly quite liked it because they actually used it and got an understanding of how things worked. I for one cannot wait for the release to happen mainly so that all the haters and I'm going to quit whiners can go and quit so we don;t have to put up with there persistent negativity that isn't even constructive as they fail to give any true details of an issue.
  16. Post Eoc Staff=all the runes you need to cast cmb magic so 1 ammo bind isn't really an issue.
  17. You forget hood and blood necklace. Leg armour is relatively minor. In the current combat system, you're looking at bn/hex+arrows/primal plate+2h with a choice of gauntlets or hood for primary set, with Sagittarian only for hexes in case of Necro, and ccs/efs with robes only for csbs in case of Hope etc. It's stupid you can't bind more than one ammo bind. Personally I don't like the ability to switch within a dungeon as well, it makes it far too easy to switch to tank gear for example, or to go all-out Sagittarian when you find Necro. Thing with ammo binds is post-eoc its not an issue. After all post-eoc staves = unlimited of all 4 elemental runes Surge spells = 5 air (+ 5 of element of spell for non-air) So staff bind = mage covered I'm guessing ideal setups for each 5 piece set would work out to: bn/hood Best body armour for class Class weapon Secondary off-class weapon perhaps Then 5th I dunno really. Though I suppose going into post-eoc times the 5th bind might be best served as a further weapon. Like melee u culd have 2h for slash and maul for crush. But then mage and range setups u could just have the 3 weapons as bow, stave + a melee wep.
  18. Except it's members only. What about us poor non mems? :( I *think* you can use a normal catalytic staff for the same effect. Not true, sadly. I just checked :( BTW is the only reason for having a celestial surgebox for the unlimited air runes? No spells use blood runes and it doesn't hold death runes. Looks like you can only make plain catalytic staves (spinebeam or higher) or empowered catalytic staffs (gravecreeper). What's the reasoning behind this? I recall them mentioning it in an update somewhere, but don't know where to find it. They changed the staves because they are supposed to all be unlimited runes of all 4 elements to aid with the whole needing 4 diff element spells for max effectiveness thing.
  19. So the new bind system sounds good (from the eoc live stream should be in with this update) Basically we ALL get to bind 10 items. Then via an outside dg interface we can place these binds into 3 'sets' that have 1-5 slots based on level (so kinda sounds like same level as now except lvl 1 = 2 binds instead of 1 + ammo). Within floors we can swap sets on the fly via Smuggler, but cannot alter what is in sets. Presumably we can also duplicate items between sets (eg bind 1 SSH but put it in all 3 sets) Obvious route would seem to be 1 primarily melee set, 1 primarily mage 1 primarily range
  20. I'd have to say the 3 wield styles are pretty well defined: 1) 1h wep + shield = tank. Reasonable damage output with extra def. Good for monsters who hit hard to slightly relaxed play. 2) Dual wield = Speed kills. Hits much faster than any other wield style, but sacrifices defence. Good for monsters with low def that you can slaughter fast. 3) 2h = 'Berserker' kind class. Slow attacks but has raw power. Good for monsters with quite high def that you wanna smash through. Obviously in time we'll learn more about what works where exactly, but these cover the basic premise of each and roughly where they ought to work bestand obviously dual and 2h are kinda 2 sides of the same coin.

Since I'm fairly broke and most of my gear is still fairly decent in EoC my 2 steps were 1) Get Bandos boots months ago to replace dragon boots. 2) Get Bandos Warshield as its better def than DFS My To-do list is: Complete Bandos (subject to how slayer helm etc. play out) Complete Armadyl Get Subjugation Sort out some off-hand items for dual wield Sort out a bow and thrown weps (probably crystal bow) Get rapier asap so I got good stab, slash and crush covered in rapier, whip and ss After rapier get cmaul for better crush Then after that I'll judge on CLS or CCB before moving into off-hands. My one-day over the rainbow in dream land list aka probably get them eventually after I no longer spend most of my income of maxing skills: Get nex armours. Get glacor boots.

But the difficulty jump from Barrows > GWD is probably equal to if not bigger than the jump from GWD > Nex so surely it would make sense to of upped Nex gear slightly to say 85 or so and then worry about plugging the gap via something semi-difficult to achieve eg Kalphite king or a player owned port feature (since these are apparently bringing new high end gear anyway)
  23. Thia. I literally have no idea why they decide to lower it. It worked nicely as lvl 75 tier that was better than barrows and worse than Nex gear and all they've done is lower it and go hmm yeah it's not balance we need to work on that.
  24. I'm wondering if, in an attempt at a blaze of glory pr move, theres 1 massive EoC update they have decided to not release to the beta that we will only see when it goes live that addresses some of the issues still commonly raised. Probably just optimistic thinking, but we can hope.

I'd suggest looking at the in-game quest guide (noticeboard>quests>do no evil) to see if a) You meet the requirements, because she should 100% be at the tomb if you've done missing my mummu (which I believe is a prerequisite) and b) where it says she will be, due to recent makeover of Prince Ali Rescue her location has likely been moved and crewbies with quest capes aren't able to magically discover this and/or check it if they have quest cape.
