  1. The fact you find a forum where they sell parts in bulk made me lol a bit. It raises two questions: 1) Do you want to shell out for bulk parts when you just need 1 to fix the issue? 2) If they are being sold in bulk it kind of implies a necessity for bulk ergo frequent part failure, so is the repair/maintenance costs worth it?
  2. "if you aren't too concerned with profit and are more intersted in profit" lol wut? Also at mid 80s farming so far I am averaging about 38-39 torstols per run with juju and t1 greenfingers, just to add more detail.
  3. Giant Ents just boost yield when harvesting belladonna, cacti and fruit trees. Similar to what juju does, but does not work on herbs.
  4. I'd point out that the mention of Giant Ent is irrelevant to herb farming as they only work on fruit trees, belladonna and cacti; just incase it confuses the OP or others reading the thread into using them for herb runs. I find Paul's spreadsheet far more useful for herb farming values: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuA_RiEopQW6dHY0d3FNUlBaQW40VW1JQWI0R2ZQRkE#gid=0 It gives you profit per run opposed to per patch (assuming perfect average yield of course), lets you input multiple runs at once and has variables that can impact Grimy's lacks namely remote farming spell and green fingers aura plus ability to toggle trollheim patch off if for whatever reason you are planning to herb farm without having unlocked it.
  5. I'm looking forward to getting home to mum's in a few weeks, treated myself to a kindle for finishing my degree so I can afford to read more (since kindle books are cheaper in general which aids in willingness to give things a try). I've preloaded it with the complete (original) Sherlock Holmes, The Picture of Dorian Grey, The complete 200 odd Grimms Fairytales, The hunger games triology, the first 4 discworld novels and the 5 current a song of fire and ice novels (game of thrones). Just a little something to get me started over summer! I think I need to figure out a goal of books to read a year, but it's hard to judge. I know I can read 2-3 novels a week, but that can be difficult and is very much subject to enjoyment of the book.
  6. Then we can start reversing the 10 lp/constitution update, because the last zero becomes meaningless :(. Perhaps it'd be meaningless in the top end stuff, as it is to an extent now. But in the lower end it still makes a difference as hitting 11-19 vs hitting 10 is important there, but in the older system they are all the same 1 damage.
  7. We are getting Turmoil equivalents for Range and Mage :) and I assume there'll be some lower tier versions of such prayers as well. There are lower tiers of such prayers already, thats basically all prayer consists of. Saps and leeches offer the lower tier curse variant. Piety/Augury/Rigour offer the normal prayer equivalents then there's what like 3 levels of att/str/def/mage/range prayers in the lower end of the prayer book. I mean there's gonna be even more of them supposedly. In between percentages and such. Qfc? Proof? I've seen jmods say prayer is being overhauled. I've seen jmods say rigour and augury moving to knightwaves. I've seen jmods say about range n mage turmoil. But I've not seen anything saying they are adding any other new boosting prayers.

  9. Except that max lifepoints will be 15k+ Might finally kill Jad :D Except they will probably increase jad's lifepoints or something to offset your increase health. True Jad's max hit and lp and stuff will go up (as will all monsters) there is however and inevitability that Jad's new max hit cannot be matching the max lp since that will stem from top end equipment that is beyond his target audience (eg torva etc.) so there must be a sort of tipping point where stats and gear-wise he becomes much easier. In comparison to now where basically any gear and stats you have he can still pretty much 1 hit ko you. Plus of course the action bar means healing and prayer swapping will be much easier as well.
  10. I agree with Powerfrog aside from the 'update isn't going to happen for a longtime' bit. Yes it is not due til september, but the beta starts in 2 weeks time. Once players get into the beta we are going to know how the gear will end up. Sure a few bits here and there might change but we are going to see all the new stats and dps and have numbers to crunch formulas with and before long there will be a pretty solid picture of how armours are panning out and as such prices in the main game and desirability will begin to shift. Yes we will still have an interim of a few months, but at the same time cost wise it will probably be useful/wise for the poorer players to dump armours and buy new stuff before the prices go up etc.
  11. So this weeks 'Og blog' is up and it's kinda disappointing because it doesn't tell us a huge amount of anything new.
  12. Well the combat changes are game changing as it is, gonna make huge difference to PVM, money making etc. anyway. They could easily be repurposing stuf eg the 4 main GWD bosses could be becoming more mid-level type bosses opposed to high-end stuff. It's not even like all 'rare' drop armour/weapons items are all that amazing anyway I mean think Brine Sabre, Dragon Spear, Dragon 2h, Dragon med, D kite, D plate etc. The 'special' status Bandos, Armadyl etc hold is purely player invented because they happened to work out as the best gear. And seeing as how half the purpose of this update is to make it so there's more variety and choice without missing out on the best it kinda implys Jagex aren't overly concerned with making items retain the status players gave them thus far.
  13. There is the factor of the combat evolution of things being rebalanced to be right for their levels. Armadyl is lvl 70 Royal d'hide is level 80 Therefore it is likely royal d'hide will be better than armadyl post rebalance. Bandos shooting up is because people still assume str bonus will be king (even though a lot of things will change, including armour stats) and therefore want to invest before Bandos potentially gets much harder to obtain, a flaw in this logic is the 65 level req which would mean Bandos when rebalanced has the potential to be worse than barrows armour.
  14. Are you saying that rushing is a good thing? Did you not get the memo? Slogging it out in an epic and challenging battle where you have to adapt on the fly to best your opponent for loot is like totally noob and no fun at all because like it takes time to learn and you could like lose stuff. 'Real' pkers invest in 1 hit ko spec weps then lurk around for someone with virtually no armour on that they can rush and drop for quick geepees, even if half the time it turns out they had nothing on them cause they were doing agility or a clue or something because it is soooo much more fun. Kind like how you get that epic win feeling and can scream about how you totally own when you lurk in multi with your 100 clan mates and then 'totally pwn' some unarmoured person wandering by looking for a penguin cause you know nothing says ownage more than 100 fully armoured players managing to kill 1 person! [/sarcasm] Yeah the 'modern' types of pkers are gonna hate on this big time cause it ruins their lazy-ass talentless method of 'owning' people for shiny yellow pixels, but it'll clearly be amazing for any genuine proper pkers left.
  15. I can't imagine they ever fair very well in the longterm because it's like the most obvious place in the world for Ddossing douches to turn up have a look at names, do quick checks round fansites and tracker sites to see if they can easily grab the ip, then challenge and launch their attack for guaranteed big bucks.
  16. I'm fairly sure the figure of five (like on a dice) formation is considered the best, though I've also seen many people using a sort of diamond arrangement with the 5th trap in the centre more lately.
  17. To make a slow weapon same dps as a fast weapon is to give the slow weapon an absolutely enormous max hit, meaning it's overpowered for KO power in pvp, thus impossible to do without ruining the game. Singled out BGS as it's currently the cheapest hilt and you need one to use the godsword. Derp. But that is EXACTLY what they have confirmed they are doing. It's not speculation they have categorically said ALL weapons within the same 'tier' (eg metal type, level reqs etc.) WILL have the same/similar dps by slow weapons hitting much harder. And no it will not ruin the game because they are also making defence have greater effect and giving ALL armour lp boosts (like torva etc have atm) with the max lp moving up to like 4000. Also speculating anything on current stat differences = utterly pointless since we know all items are having their stats entirely redone as part of the combat change, also it is entirely possible that what abilities hit (eg Flurry) is entirely independent of equipment stats and depend soleyl on your levels.
  18. Not really true, if they are making all weapons in a tier have equal dps through various speed vs max hit vs accuracy trade offs it'll actually make more weapons useful, particularly below the top end of chaotics, as using a d mace will yield same dps as a d dagger but would be better at crush attacks etc. and with talk of them making defence more important and abilities specific to big and small weps theres plenty to consider there in terms of variety in weapon choice. Also singling out BGS = fail. All gs are gonna be equal stats with hilts being cosmetic only as again specials go bye bye.
  19. Lrc (on the unofficial words) will always be laggier because you get hundreds, if not over a thousand players all cramped in there and of those players like 80% or so are in massive stacks at gold rocks, coal rocks and fish spots. So as soon as a s[pot changes you get inundated with loads of player models to render, even my super high spec desktop hangs a little bit on LRC spot changes. Solution would be to use quieter worlds (eg 88 is still busy but less so than the main world) and turn your graphics down a bit more.
  20. I'd say they are going to continue to plummet. They are only valuable because they are a spec weapon. In new combat they lose this and whilst jagex says weapons losing specs will be bolstered stat-wise they also sad all weapons in the same tier will have similar dps eg dragon weapons will all have matching dps outputs. So even if d claws get better stats it would imply the same would be true of all d weps.
  21. Midnight GMT same as all daily resets.
  22. Plus there is currently a bug where by some fishermen (specifically the one inside the game) seem to still give you your 10 weekly tickets (from pre-update) despite the 2 a day thing working. I had it other day got 2 tickets, teled in, spoke to rewards shop guy in there, got another 10.
  23. There's a difference between them saying they're not going to do it and they have no plans to. No plans to means it's not something they're working on. Wouldn't do means they have something against that idea. I can guarantee you that they were thinking about doing a 2nd BXP before the first one even finished. But, they needed to see how well that one fared first. The Squeal, well that... happened. Not sure what these J coins you're talking about are, or these discontinued items. But, um, holiday events have been around for years and have items you can only get at that event. I have nothing against Jagex introducing more things like these. I'd rather see people pay for the SoF for limited time items then for exp. The thing is they SAID on the forums AND in clan chats after the first BXP took place that they had no plans on doing another, and a lot of people believed them, until that BTS came up that said they were doing another, and that wasn't years afterwards either. Jcoins are what you buy spins with, microtransactions, Real money giving you an advantage over others, something they said they would NEVER do. Though to be fair is in direct relation to the squeal, so I guess technically Squeal and Jcoins count as 1 example. I've been on RS since RSC, I know about holiday items, I guess I should have specified, the Fish mask, a new TRADEABLE discontinued item, something they said they would never do again after Santa hats, because of people selling for crazy profits and it not being in the spirit of why they were dropped, they tried untradeable stuff (Bunny Ears and Scythe) I don't know why but after that they stopped holiday items altogether until the Yo-yo was released, which was over a year after. (i think) Honestly none of that stuff even bothers me, I've never taken RS too seriously, my stats reflect that, haha. I just think its funny when people say something will never happen because a J-mod said so, when that doesn't really mean anything anymore. And once again the thing is they said in videos and forum posts SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THIS UPDATE that they are NOT changing it. Therefore all arguments about 'they have said it before' are null and void because all previous instances were general statements that preceded the occurrence by months/years. This is information being actively and currently given specifically about the combat update. And since this topic is about the combat change that is kind of the end of the matter, SOf etc. is going entirely off-topic.

  25. I don't think that would ever happen, I think if any of them were to be raised, it would only be Constitution. Also big difference between saying no plans to do something then an update does it a few years later and the fact they have said in videos and answers specifically about THIS update they are not raising combat stats beyond 99.
