Runespan Staffs
They have sucky combat stats and aren't really worth it for combat, they do however look nice. I personally use greater runic for fertile soil. You can charge them with any spell (up to lvl 77[?]) for the plain one) 500 and 1000 charges respectively, pretty much covers it.

I assumed that or perhaps summoning special bar or something to do with what spec restore etc are being repurposed too.

RuneCast and BTS Video discussion.
I doubt Crucible will have comp cape reqs. When comp cape first came people suggested various pking based things 'missing' from it and they actively said because pking was sort of 'optional' and not related to completing the game as a whole so I would think/hope this follows the same logic. Plus there doesn't seem to be any logical fitting requirements, a highscores rank we have never had, they are all 100% in-game things. Also we have never really had content specific unlocks. Eg Dominion weapons and such any requirements are always stuff you can take away from the content and all Crucible info seems it is very much self contained aside from the loot dropped, which is normal items anyway.

Log in Trouble
You don't have a choice basically. They brought in email to register fairly recently and have pretty much made it mandatory to have an email associated with the account now through means as this which ensure older accounts put on in.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Plus jmods confirmed in a few videos and forum posts they are NOT adding new skills and they are NOT raising the existing combat skills beyond 99. Any change to combat level is 180% related to formula alterations.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
they never "announced" the old ones, people just worked them out... I'm fairly sure they did announced the combat level formula somewhere in the fansite admin only type areas of their service/forums, crewbies have referenced such things. Certainly they never gave out many of the formulas we use, but the combat level one they have.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
It's not a testing thing as some suggested. If you watch the most recent BTS video they mention combat level displays and say 'hmm it kind looks like an 8, you'll hear more about that soon' (paraphrasing) so pretty darn obvious it's a real combat level to do with the currently unannounced new formula (they confirmed on forums there is a new one, so kinda inevitable that max would change). And as Sir Squab mentioned there has been some vague mentions of making mage, range and melee combat levels match (opposed to range and mage capping out a few levels lower) which again would mean it has changed the formula enough to give a new max.

Was hoping for that! Can have like a farming bar, a questing bar etc.

Why has RuneScape turned into just making money?
No people who play to have fun won't be doing any activity over and over, they infact will be switching around doing other things that may not even get them any xp or gp. Yes you will do things over and over in the long run and again there is nothing meaning you HAVE to do everything in big blocks to do the best methods. You can just as easily do 1 large dg then go spend 30 mins hunting and then go and do some slayer whether you use the top methods or not.

Money Making @ H&A
About the only thing I think H&A could perhaps benefit from atm would be a rule/guideline about having a descriptive topic title. Not a massive issue but lately there has been more 'Help me!' 'What do I do!' type titles that you can't sort of quickly browse by and know if you may or may not have an answer for.

Why has RuneScape turned into just making money?
How exactly is doing the 'fun' non-meta games activities any less doing the same thing over and over? If anything they involving doing it more because they are worse xp:hr or worse gp:hr meaning you have to do them for longer to achieve the same goal.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
It's not using old models as such, the bandos guy is a level 2 NPC with 10,000 lp they made to kick to pieces for combat testing. Eg it's not drawing from the item models as such it's graphically static like a troll or a goblin or w/e it just got made pre-armour updates and there's no point in re-making it.

No. But as seen on some teaser pictures I posted here you can see it will be possible to hold a bow with the left hand. Could just be a changed model, perhaps we used right hand to load arrows or something or could be the 'shield bows' mentioned by jmods on forums. Which are basically normal bows but they sacrifice some offence to offer some defence which is coming along with 2h crossbows (where 2h cbow vs cbow will be like sword vs 2h sword)

RuneCast and BTS Video discussion.
2 Bits I love most from that video 139 player combat - fact they say 'can't quite see that think it looks like an 8 you'll hear more about that soon' gives it away its a genuine change. Wonder how high we'll be able to go now? Guessing this is part of the whole 'hiding strength' thing so perhaps (only the main stats anyway) we are moving closer to 1:1 stat:cmb Ability to set xp modes for each combat class so swapping isn't eratic on what u end up with.

29th May 2012 - QBD + Diamond Jubilee
[qfc]15-16-773-63761737[/qfc] Nothing more was expected. The end. I used to think that Jagex had a good LoC to bugs ratio in their code, since few breaking bugs ever showed up in their game. However, when it comes to their own investigation tools, it's like watching a freshman Java programmer struggle creating an array. This is pretty embarrassing for their QA team. An idiot must have designed the grave system. So many flaws. Not with the increased time t oget back. With the whole way of how they work. Like I said, Blizzard has much better CS and QA then Jagex, and it shows. I wouldn't say Blizzard QA is necessarily better, they just have it easier for two very big reasons: 1) Much bigger budget means larger team and more variety of systems to test on. 2) High system reqs means a smaller field of hardware to get stuff working on. It's easier to spot more bugs early on when you have less possible hardware combinations and a bigger team with more variety of systems in house. It be kind of like saying supermarket employees at one of them massive hundreds of staff stores are better at their job just because there is more products and more tills in the store compared to a small local store with 1 or 2 employees. So yeah they certainly achieve better results, but thats not the same as having a better team because there is a huge disparity between how much QA can be done and the potential for hardware related bugs between the two companies so that Blizzard has a bigger team doing an easier job.

Vegas cant open avi file?
Bad codec packs would, but good ones do nothing of the sort. Good codec packs just allow you to play/edit more video and sound files.

Tip Quest page
Are you press 'save done' before leaving the page, as if you don't it doesn't commit the info to your cookie, it is found top and bottom of the list alongside 'show/hide completed' and 'un/mark all' Aside from that only issue would be if you are clearing you internet cache entirely (ergo removing cookies)
-
Vegas cant open avi file?
What converters are good entirely depends on the codecs involved and whether they support them.
-
Vegas cant open avi file?
It depends what codec the avi file is using. If it's one the Sony Vegas entirely does not support and conversion via some other software will be required. If it just a codec you don;t have installed you just need to find a codec pack with it in.

06-June-2012 : Fish Flingers Improvements + Squeal of Neptune
Does the update do any of that? I'm genuinely curious, I think I only played one round of it before the update and didn't log in for more than an hour today. According to some guys who have already played it it's not longer the fun, relaxing minigame it used to be but now a mess of HUD and lots of big fish messing up your attempt to catch enough regular fish for medals. This is pretty much how I feel about the fish flingers update. Basic gameplay is mostly the same, they've just added annoying popups, unnecessary area depletion, and now penalise people for hunting combos giving those that get others to do it for them alot better rewards (it used to be about even). Whole thing is so hectic and frantic, more like a minigame than a D&d now :( I personally quite enjoy it now. The xp is nice, bout 18k-20k a game a level 99 I been getting with chasing down all 6 100% (which ain't hard to do especially if you find a world with a nice fc) then spending last 3-5mins on heaviest fish and doing as many assists as I can for big fish (as they factor into final score). Which ain't bad for 15mins (if you count the 5min wait room time), the nice xp rates also means the fishing suit is one of the few worth getting of the xp booster suits or at least the least inefficient to get. Big fish aren't exactly a big hinderance, if you don't wanna mess with them ignore other ppls and just click cast twice to let go any you catch and area depletion isn't that bad even this morn where it's only slightly quietened down only the heaviest fish zone hit 100% in any of my games and even that only happened in the last 30 seconds or so. Also about the fish mask rare debate, they certainly won't become on-par with partyhats anytime soon (though it could happen given a couple of decades) but it is safe to say once they become discontinued they will rise in value due to the status it infers and hordes/merchers effecting prices. Whilst certainly not a big bucks item it certainly can't hurt to hold on to them for a year or two cause odds are they will go up by a few mil.

what to do when hacked
Admittedly Jagex recovery is muffed lately so it can be easy to fool via email recovery, however with gmail two step verification you still can make it pretty darn difficult for a hacker to achieve this and with the right precautions, as I previously mentioned, you can make it near impossible to get hacked. Yes my prior percentage was hyperbolic, but the sentiment still stands as they are all steps you can take to greatly improve account security and with a good 2 step verified email you can pretty much negate the recovery issues that recently arose via email recovery. And no matter how much you moan about items lost the T&Cs you agreed too when joining RS says they do not return items and are not obliged too.

Runespan
A) I tend to just stick to Soul wraiths and have enough essence, you don't need a huuuge amount to get started. I tend to siphon 10 body hounds when I first go in since I came the 2 soul wraith island area and end up needing fair few bodys and that gets me few hundred ess start up. B) Shouldn't be an issue I've done 80 > 91 and have bought Greater Runic Staff (25k) Full Wicked (25k) Recolour (7k?) and have Esteem 3 so that's like near 100k Points already! C) They aren't hugely worth it in terms of game changing, but they have their uses. Each piece bought adds 1 rune charge and 25 essence to the hood, but get all 3 and you get an extra teleport. And obv wicked hood teleports do have a few uses eg quickest way to get lunar mage, quick way to mutated velds etc.

06-June-2012 : Fish Flingers Improvements + Squeal of Neptune
This medal getting flingers milarky aint too bad once you get memory and method down, especially since they removed the 7th cast range only 1 - 6 now made up using 1,2,3 weights Each hook, bait and weight can only appear once per round (I recall them repeating before but never the exact same combo?) So fish 1 - 8 baits, 6 hooks, 6 weights fish 2 - 7 baits, 5 hooks, 5 weights Til fish 6 is 1 hook, 1 weight, 3 baits. And Yeah xp seems muffed it's showing -870k per game for me, seems most ppl 99+ getting zilch xp from it.
