I'd query your use of "social norms" Prostitution is an ancient and widespread practice, regardless of laws, so is it not already a social norm that it happens? Plus I can't think of a social norm it would effect to change laws on it, cultural expectations/constructs certainly, but hardly altering a social norm, merely transferring it from the illegal side of the law to the legal side. [/devil's advocate]
  2. Explain how we are discussing HOW TO do that? I was merely asking for pictures of results. Just to give this a response: Ellac did not accuse anyone of discussing how to do this stuff; he(?) simply posted to remind people of the rule BEFORE it drifted into such discussion. The idea being to avoid a later issue on the topic and refresh peoples memories so they don't accidentally break a rule.
  3. This makes me sad. Perhaps the Christmas Culture Wars are a uniquely American phenomenon. FWIW, I say Happy Holidays and let people take that in whatever way they want it, whether they decorate trees, light חַנֻכִּיָּה‎ or kinaras or what have you. I did not do the event, but I walked around and looked at the decorations scattered around. I thought they were nicely done and in good taste. It's an odd polarity of the Americans often ludicrously illogical ideals. Many seem to argue endless for 'Happy Holidays' to be inclusive and not promote Christianity over the rest; yet equally there's a whole parade of anti-gay presidential candidates who base their argument on American being a Christian, non-secular Nation. It's like WTF how you can you promote a secular-style inclusiveness of using only 'Happy Holidays' yet equally argue you are not a secular nation and thus gay marriage is wrong. (In spite of the fact many religious groups fully support gay marriage and as many comedians have pointed out "marriage" is hardly a sacred ordeal any more with divorce rates etc.)
  4. I never said it did. My point was at higher rc levels you craft less of lower level runes, in favour of more higher level runes and in my experience this means using airs you are liable to end up 15+ air runes down from where you began per run, where as with fires you only end up 3-5 down from where you began. Eg You start with 1k runes. Banking with airs you end up with 985 after 1 run. Fires you end up with 995 after 1 run.
  5. Are you actually serious? I can't believe how bad political correctness is these days. I don't condone any kind of racism or religious prejudice but wow. I hate "political correctness" erasing merry christmas. Yes not EVERYONE celebrates it, but most do even when its not part of their religion; heck Christmas itself barely has any real religious connections any more. And it doesn't discriminate or sideline them to say Merry Xmas, no more than it sidelines non-jewish to hear Happy Hanukkah etc. etc. None of these terms are offensive or discriminator and the idea we need to say "Happy Holidays" to be fair is utter hogwash in my opinion. You can have a Happy whatever holiday you want and I'll gladly wish it you and share your mirth; but I want a Merry Xmas, so I'll darn well have one!

I really don't see why people find it immoral. It no more or less immoral than paying for any good or service, sure you could come up with arguments of "selling yourself" but you do that anyway in any industry. Work is gained and performed by selling yourself; your energy, you intellect, your skills, your time its the commodity we all sell to earn a wage. Perhaps a religious argument could surface, but I find using religion as a moral compass beyond the obvious good and bad flawed because people always pick and chose which moral distinctions to apply from their books. After all holy books sanctify all sorts of stuff as "moral" like stoning to death people who wear clothes intermixed fabrics, killing your wife is she shaves her legs etc. Why can these be written off and ignored as moral guidance due to being out of date yet other specifics held up, when they are just as outdated? And tbh you don't need religion, as some may argue, to have a basic moral compass; just cause I don't particularly buy into a deity figure off in the sky doesn't mean I am incapable of knowing right from wrong.

While I agree with you sentiments is it not rather archaic to think of it solely in terms of women's exploitation? There's male escorts and prostitutes too that are subject to the same issues and exploitations and its not even like its a minority there's a good 50:50 split male female in prostitution these days. And the other peoples points about its age is so true, its known as the oldest profession for a reason. It literally is the oldest profession known on records that still exists, from Ancient Greece to Rome all of em had brothels and prostitutes. In-fact it was even more culturally in-grained, like how ancient greeks offered their son's up to be buggered by the adult men as a right of passage and all that.
  8. Fail on my part lol, but don't blame me I got epic insomnia going on!

Well, first of all, I wouldn't say there are that many countries where porn is legal but prostituion is not. At least, I couldn't think of any such country off the top of my head. Lol wut? Nearly every country in the western world exports and makes masses of porn and it is perfectly legal. And nearly all those same countries prostitution is illegal. UK is an example, USA I'm fairly certain this also applies in most states. There's only a few highly religious countries where porn making is illegal, but prostitution is illegal in most countries.

I always find it weird: Paying someone to have sex with you = prostitute = illegal in most countries. Paying someone to have sex with you AND filming it = porn star = legal in most countries.
  12. Air runes can be usable, however at higher levels you make more high runes and less low ones. This means you usually end up just about breaking even on fires, but you end up losing on airs. Eg Using airs you'll be down like 17 or so air runes per run, where as fires you'll only be down 2 or 3 per run from starting amounts. You're not making any sense here. The teleport you use doesn't matter at all to which runes you craft. Fires are more expensive than airs and airs are needed for NPC contact to cast pouch repair. Use air runes. I didn't say anything about teleports. I said about BANKING. Besides if your good you use pouch repair not NPC contact and either way its extremely rare to not make enough runes to cast those spell from 1 invent. I've only not had contact npc runes like twice and I've never missed repair pouch runes.
  13. It can do on older and slower systems, like I said on most systems its not noticeable; but its certainly not a myth. I suggest you read this article which does mention the registry cleaning myth. http://lifehacker.com/5033518/debunking-common-windows-performance-tweaking-myths It's an old article, but it's still current. When you read the context it is saying exactly what I'm saying. It says they remove a few unused keys that won't help performance when you consider the hundreds and thousands of keys in there. This means it does alter performance, but, as I said, on any decent system it won't be noticeable as it is only on a minute scale; he is addressing the myth that you need to buy an expensive registry cleaner that runs regularly to improve performance, which is a different issue to whether or not registry being clean does or does not, however minutely, effect performance. On an older clogged up system it is more likely to have a noticeable impact. My Mum's computer is archaic and we got it running noticeably faster after a registry clean-up; granted it had like a good decade (give or take) or things being installed, uninstalled, updated, formatted, hardware changes etc. etc. So it was clogged up big time compared to anything a standard registry would be, but still it shows registry cleaning does effect performance
  14. I have to say I agree with the majority that it sounds like an utter waste of time, its not vastly useful unless you have such an aweful system and/or internet that is frankly outdated in this day and age and as pointed out a number of browser plugins will do it for you. Even on my mum's chronically outdated system website load times are hardly an issue. We have pretty shit broadband in my house shared between 3 smart phones, 2 nintendo DS consoles, a BT vision box, 2 desktop computers, 2 macbooks, 2 xboxs, a ps3, a wii, an ipod touch, 2 internet enaabled tvs, an internet enabled blu-ray player and an internet radio and even when its at peak usage a tip.it page will load in like 5 seconds maximum.
  15. It can do on older and slower systems, like I said on most systems its not noticeable; but its certainly not a myth.
  16. I don't see the big issue? 20-30 is a reasonable framerate, but particularly laggy. And you say you get 45-50, which is the max rs can do if memory serves, in resizable; so play resizable.
  17. At ZMI familiars can slow you down due to extra banking, they are very borderline and make almost not impact upon xp/hr. Some might scrap 1 or 2k more, for others 1 or 2k less, but no major impact really. Pouches can be right click filled while in bank screen, so you only need 1 bank per run. 2 banks if you insist on using familar (fill it then re bank to do pouches and invent)
  18. No. If you have no space it will replace an item. If you have the bag it will jump back into it. Inventory space makes no difference to getting rocks, that is an utter myth with no proven effect.
  19. Only a [wagon] registry cleaner cause issues. Anything good like CCleaner shouldn't cause any problems AND offers back-up before making changes as a safety net. And it CAN effect performance and registry clogged up with un-used extensions and broken associations etc. can caused lag on program loading, file reading and boot times; sure not a HUUUUGGGGEEE amount unless its really clogged or an very slow system, but it can still impact.
  20. I feel obliged to point out all what has been said about AVG is completely wrong. I run AVG on my desktop and have NEVER had any issue running runescape in browser or in the client.
  21. Last I heard it was DAILY that made 9:6 better, 7 days+ should be 10:5.

  23. Zmi: 1) Get lunar mage. 2) Take out ALL fire runes, plus rc pouches. 3) Fill your bank + take out a load of ess 4) Ouranina (sp?) Tele 5) Run into the altar and craft. 6) Ouranina Tele 7) Bank > pay with fire runes. 8) Run and craft. 9) repeat 6 - 8 as needed. In terms of banking speed for zmi ZMI > Lunar > cwars > Dg. For max xp you should use zmi, lunar is if you wanna be cheapy and dodge fire rune costs.
  24. No. It's pure luck. There's usually 1 stone pair each week that takes FOREVER compared to usual. while conversely 1 pair will be rather fast. Like 1 week I got both farm rocks from 1 patch on my first farm run, but fishing took like 2k monkfish. (compared to the usual 50 or so) Another week I got both theif rocks on like my 5th and 6th pickpocket but smithing I used up the better part of 2k iron bars.
  25. saph braces sell.
