Tutorial
The tutorial does have issues, but some of your points are kinda unfounded as 'problems.' 1) It not being Lumbridge does not matter. All told Lumbridge did not even serve as a tutorial for the majority of the games existence, most of that time was Tutorial Island. But ultimately the location is meaningless other than returning player nostalgia. 4) Perhaps because, like skills, quests are a HUGE part of Runescape. Plus none of the 3 quests actually come in to the first bit of the tutorial which is kinda the 'mandatory' bit they come at the stage where it suggests things to do but you can freely wander off and ignore it. Also you can leave the tutorial at any time, in fact to do DoC you clearly did leave the tutorial as it happens exclusively in the Burthorpe/Taverly area whilst DoC is off near edgeville.

22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
The lamps are not tiered they are all identical, ever since they 'fixed' the fact that at the start of T2 you paid 15% more for only 12% more xp or w/e it was that made T1 better renown:xp rewards. The best return is on huge lamps.

I like how rather than saying its been delayed they try and give the impression it was planned for the 30th from the get go cause I mean it's not like they put a BTS video out about the update on the friday before the week of the update every single time...oh no wait thats exactly what they do.

Warpriest armour - worth it?
I personally think it's quite a good quest armour, for when you are going head first in to a new release and are blind to what is ahead. Easy saving on death, easy to switch up combat styles and decent defence to anything that may come at you.

Super September is Coming!
Wonder how we are going to do #7. Havent checked in ages.. can you actually walk into those things? I always thought only random events took you there :P As mentioned in the earlier pages with the random event retirement you can simply speak to a pillory guard to enter one by choice.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Just saw this is passing on rs wiki about things that happen with daily reset: A daily salary is paid: 20 chimes if the port has a Refitted office. 50 chimes if the port has a Renovated office. 150 chimes if the port has a Refurbished office. Is that true? Seems like bs to me I certainly never noticed chimes going down.

20-Aug-2013 - Divination
The amount of work Mod Jane would have to do if she posted it in General would easily be 10 times more. Remember, these names are getting freed for everyone, not just HLFers. I always think this is a double edged sword. Yes on the one hand posting in HLF ensures that the thread is more managable and the mod can be more responsive to feedback but equally when they are trying to gauge what the community as a whole feels it is kinda biased and restrictive to only open that discussion to one subset of players who are by no means representative of the whole community. On one side you have the jmod being less directly responsive to what was said but getting the whole picture, but on the other you have the jmod able to direct respond but only viewing one piece of the jigsaw.

lore question: why aren't deceased quest NPCs resurrected?
Note some of the cheesy lore mentions the deaths. In addition Death the NPC has met us in the afterlife spot. But that isn't the true afterlife just a shuffling off section, where adventures resurrect. It's not that we actually don't die, but that the death we experience isn't real because some power has chosen to save us from near death. No Osbourne literally said we do not die. Same as holiday events are not considered part of the lore that death is not either. It was in response to a question about why quest bosses and such simply repeat same dialogue as if nothing had happened when they killed us; the answer was as far as the lore is concerned we do not die time simply reverts to just before the fight in a retcon of events.

Super September is Coming!
^We knew that yesterday they announce all 3 of the weekenders on friday. We got farmyard rampage, duel someone and prayer at altars devoted to three different gods. For tomorrow Falador seems a safe bet for everyone: 1) Zamorak in the temple with the wine. 2) Guthix Shrine right by the lodestone. 3) Saradomin/Zaros inside the castle.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Its worth pointing out for that graph and the overall line: Hiscores ONLY run to 2million; the massive spike over 2million and subsequent fall are purely made up by the graph makers 'estimates.' This estimation, to me, seems highly floored. He basically seems to of continued the exact same steepness of account numbers rising right up to the day of EoC (even though the rest of the graph cleary suggests it's never been so stable) and then plummeted it down for eoc. That's over a million accounts fictionally invented by 'estimation' that may not actually exist, which means nearly 50% of the supposed eoc drop off shown may not even exist.

lore question: why aren't deceased quest NPCs resurrected?
According to Mod Osbourne recently it is simply a case of as far as lore is concerned we do not die. Death is necessary game mechanic, in the same way identical NPCs respawning is but as far as the game is concerned we never ever die apart from the Vallhalla incident in Fremmy series. Anytime you actually die it is just sort of a retcon do over where the last 5 minutes or whatever did not happen as far as the lore is concerned.

20-Aug-2013 - Divination
I would think next weeks game update is the likely time for it to be turned on, closest update to the 1 month mark and all; if not I'd expect the week after to neatly coincide with bol vanishing.

The easiest solution to making divination stand on its own would've been to stick to the original plan and release both at the same time, or at least within a month or two of each other. A gathering skill without its matching artisan, even with a sprinkling of things to make it just kinda flat and boring. I mean sure even with the second skill Div will be rather basic, but I think that's more tolerable of a gathering skill when it has its partner because they are designed to work in a way where you don't no-life one to the end you flit between the two. (In theory anyway)

Which is obviously why so many people do it causing there to be massive death lists and the wand and orb to lower in value thanks to the increased supply...oh no wait the death list is minute and the wand and orb just keep going up. Of course there is a feasibility there the trouble, to me, is the payout vs the risk only works out well if you are part of the minute super elite that can kill him slickly and consistently AND you constantly kill him for days at a time to ensure you get the payout from one of the rarer drops. Plus as soon as more people get remotely good at him and the wand and orb crash that pay out will quickly dwindle to nothingness. I mean how well will wands and orbs even sell at these ridiculous values before the equally small uber rich market has their fill and no-one is left to buy them? Of course at that point coinsharing them would be an option but again it'd be a massive tank to the payout.

You get the crown for winning the hiscore, this means being rank 1 when it closes.

How is this different from any other boss like Corp/KK? If you had crap LSP to start off with you're not going to get anything anyway, whether you go to Vorago or Nex. Tectonic drops are 2M each, which change LSP much more than most Nex drops as it is. It's not different, that's how lootshare works. What is different is the cost and time required to kill Vorago make much greater impact on the worth of doing it for no drops, especially when the drops you do get have so little value they don't really compensate for the time and money invested in the first place.
-
Future Update Discussions
Even if LS works it's still not exactly functional the drops still have shockingly poor value vs the time invested and unless you have a team with hours upon hours upon hours to spare your not gonna get enough kills for everyone to get a good crack at rewards.
-
Future Update Discussions
Because if one guy gets the kill in FFA its expected, you went to FFA knowing that. If it happens in LS it gets balanced out. At Vorago you could go as many times as you like and get absolutely nothing if you don't fit in to one of the 5 categories that get given the drops. Not to mention Vorago takes substantially longer and substantially more supplies to kill. The pay off vs the effort just isn't there. And it is quite clearly a problem, all you have to do is go by the cave to see how few deaths there are because no-one bothers doing it hardly or observe the fact seismic is still going up with no end in sight because it just is not coming in to the game.

Super September is Coming!
I'd guess so. Only know Jadinkos seem to do it off the basis of clan mates trying to do social slayer a various points and the level ranges dictating success.
-
Super September is Coming!
As far as I know mutated jadinkos are actually 3 distinct tasks with no outwardly noticeable difference. One that works only for the babies assigned from 80 slayer to 85 slayer. One that works for the babies and the guards assigned from 86 slayer to 90 slayer. One that works for all 3 assigned from 91 slayer upwards.

The thing with Vorago is half of the problem is a special mechanic put in for no apparent reason. Why give a boss DESIGNED to be super hard and need big teams a mechanic that specifically only gives 5 players drops? That'd make sense for bosses that have become easier over the years (eg gwd or kq)to incentivise smaller teams of higher lvels rather than low level masses but for a boss that really you WANT about 10 on a team its just dumb. Then his average drops are only worth 66k - 360k ball park for a boss that you probably have to spend a good 20k+ or so in resources on just to kill and takes so long to kill you could've made like 1-4mil in that time. Of course you may be bolstered by some tectonic energy but from what I understand it doesn't exactly sell well, it's price only stays high because no enough comes in to lower it effectively. Where as something like Nex the worst drop admittedly sucks now (around 2k for sara brews) but the vast majority of the drops are 600k - 800k ball park. It is just utterly stupid. They should give him basic drops similar or better than Nex and make it so that either it works like any other boss with lootshare etc OR if they want to make sure it rewards to whole team make it so that it gives a drop to EVERYONE who makes it to the end.

You mean Nex the monster that only really still holds significant value thanks to repeated tweaks/nerfs forcibly breaking/altering their wonderful EoC to keep Nex as the best choice of armour?

^mmmm Mod Chris L is soooooo good that he designed Vorago...y'know that boss that stupidly limits drops to 5 players only despite it being better suited to larger teams. Oh and of course it has an utterly appalling normal drop table in terms of time/gp spent vs reward (assuming you actually get a drop) not to mention offering a rare drop so rare it has actually consistently gone up from Jagex's opening ge value in to realms only previously know by party hats and their kin. Certainly he deserves praise for the actual combat mechanics, but the reward side of things is just messed up either by his hand or by typical jagex 'balancing' which translates to 'people with no concept of what players want or need tweaking things to look numerically good on paper regardless of how they actually function.'
