Germany was a completley untapped market, that could provided quite a bit of money. Chinese...well, how are they going to do chinese? It'd be incredible hard, and a great deal of chinese people know english. In terms of spanish, and spain...i'm not really sure about that..looking at some statistics, Germany has more english speakers than spain..but that's just spain. A lot of Spanish speaking countries have a large number of English-Speakers, and there are countries that speak Spanish all over, all of South America virtually, Central America, and mexico...these people probably know more English because they're right near the US? And it's important for them to learn it? German Speaking countries probably have less of need to learn English, because most of them need only German to succeed in economical things... Just a guess though
