  1. Uh, "ille"? I do find it strange though that you study/know the exact same three languages as me... yeah...lol...iste, ista, etc? It has no word for "the" either, but I feel like the Roman empire got along just fine using Latin for quite a while. Latin grammar is much better than English though; much more organized, even if it lacks some of the words we have
  2. I don't know your full circumstances, but from what you say...i'd just wait. If she's getting overwhelmed by other guys and her ex, she would not appreciate someone she's been confiding in asking her out i think. that's not to say she won't ever, but right now probably a little hectic for her. Do what reb said, just let her manage her own stuff and then have a shot when everything's calmed down. We fear rejection, but it has to come eventually, there's no escaping it in life. When you do take that chance though, it could work out. Just heads up.
  3. uh...? Yeah, so...there's that whole thing with Joan of Arc and Calvin and basically the entirety of Mormonism... You may not believe they've seen an angel, but people HAVE claimed to see it. What makes angel sightings pre-1000 AD more real than post 1000 AD? Well, i'm personally an Athiest. I don't know if God is real or not though, so my beliefs are a summation of Jon Krakauer and Sigmund Freud. That puts my philosophy on religion into words better than i've ever been able to put it. God is a complicated matter. We all yearn and crave to seek the answers to the ultimate questions in life: Who am I? How did I get here? What is my purpose? At moments, at the current state of thinking for me, I believe that religion provides an answer to that. It provides though, almost an easy way out. These questions are so complex, and thus the answers too will be quite complex, more comprehensive than most humans and most generations can take. We want answers though, and we want them now. Religion gives the masses that; religion assures a definite, simple answer to those great burdening questions. And that's fine, if you want it. But I believe that it's a little more comlicated than that. There is no way whatsoever to prove me or an theistically prone person right or wrong. But that's my opinion. Freud comes in here in saying that religion, while giving us answers to these fundamental questions, can be quite delusional. I'm fine with religion, and i recognize that it shaped most of western culture. But I believe it should be a private matter. When someone starts forcing, imposing, subjecting the will and might of their God onto me, I have a problem. While I respect religion, I do not adhere to any. I am not agnostic, but not quite athiest either. It's complicated. But people are entitled to their own answers to those fundamental questions, they have their own entitlement to seek and answer the questions for themselves. I understand if part of the religion means attempting to gain converts, but keep it out of how i live. To give an example, gay marraige. The movement against it has no support other than "God didn't intend it". But that goes against the constitution, and it subjects me (though I am not gay) to the lifestyle of one who is religious, whereas I am not religious. Also, when you start denying scientific facts. Like, i'm all cool with the Bible, but when people believe its 100% true? I mean, if that floats your boat and that's what you believe, fine...but don't try to tell me dinosaurs are still alive and U/Pb dating is a conspiracy by every scientist in the world. There. My couple hundred cents lol. And to respond to a few things, God doesn't imply Christianity. It implies Judaism, Hinduism, Pagaenism and every other religion that has a God(s).
  4. Depressing but likely. It's not the congresspeople's fault though...it's the lobbyists. They'll find some way to spin this of course. Brilliant really. Corrupt, but brilliant. Anyway, this is great news! Just gotta keep making progress
  5. Well this is silly. Yes, if someone talks in broken english, most people can understand what they mean. It isn't THAT hard to figure out. But that's because we've been taught the various rules of actual grammar, and know how to apply them. If everyone started talking in broken english, we'd have nothing to juxstapose it to. Of course, we'd just have a different set of grammar rules, but still grammar rules. They stay intact somehow. But as for people using bad grammar on websites...well, i can tolerate it to some degree, but after a while it gets frustrating. A language and its writing is what binds a culture together, and grammar is what enforces the language and writing. When people start disobeying the laws of grammar, things start falling apart. I personally take people who use better grammar more seriously than someone who doesn't, because it's a sign that they're more dedicated to the topic at hand. That's a generalization of course, but still, it holds true in most cases. Spelling is the same way. I was debating this guy over the internet on McCain's and Obama's policies, and this guy kept spelling McCain like "mccaine". It's hard to take someone seriously when they do that, just like it is with grammar.
  6. DEATH BY METEOR ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG Or in a few years when the Mayan Apocolypse arrives!
  7. Making out not bad. it's pretty funny in retrospect lol...when it happened it wasn't so funny though. I mean, it was after school was out and this teacher came out of the room and well...there we were.
  8. Terrific bank there...sad to see such a familiar face go. Been seeing you ever since i joined TIF (which was quite a while ago...lol) While it's hard to imagine for you right now, RS can get very tiring. What's the point of wasting time on something that you don't get enjoyment out of? Plenty of other things you can waste time on an enjoy :P Have fun not scaping. It's a blast \

  15. Thanks for keeping this updated and persisting for so long! This is brilliant, and if they use the exact or a very similar design, i wouldn't be surprised at all. As for what people are posting...yeah, jagex does read this forums, and probably got some inspiration for a lot of these ideas. I mean i remember posting a costume room idea a ways back, who knows if they took it from that. Someone else posted something about achievement capes for reaching 99.

  19. http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Story?id=2682730&page=2 Ok, so first off, giving to charity doesn't mean your exempt from being a jerk. By saying "jerk" (or the article, it doesn't matter), you're getting neck-deep into a huge debate in normative ethics. Would you say that a man who gives to chairty and lives hospitable life--but inside is a complete and total jerk, and loves duping people into thinking that he's a nice guy--is a nice guy? It's hard to say. I'd personally say that since he's lying to himself and everyone else, he'd be a jerk. So watch how you frame that. Charity does not imply virtousness. And what's to say that non-religious people don't contribute in other ways besides charity? Is being a jerk seriously defined by not doing charitable deeds? I think there's a lot more to it than that. Second, that's not to say that every athiest or non-religious person is not charitable. I'm not saying anyone said this, but i'm just putting it out there. It isn't a blanket statement that religious folk are more charitable than non-religious. Third, they mostly do that out of their church organized programs, that they are obliged to attend. Who knows if people who are religious generally tend to want to do charitable acts out of the goodness of their heart? Of course, you can say that their conscious doesn't matter if they're helping people, but then we're back to the sinister man who does good deeds. Fourth, when you say "explicitely non-religious charities", that's not really a big deal...i'm not sure if you think it's one, but it isn't. There are tons of non-profs out there that are non-religious--in fact, most of them are. So that's not a really a big deal. Fifth, this has nothin to do with the topic. I'm not sure why i wrote all this, but i don't to waste it lol. Maybe you're feelin defensive or something--trying to say that non-religious people are dispicable jerks. Regardless of that, the topic at hand is IQ relating to faith.
  20. Very impressive  How are you raising (or did raise) crafting on f2p though? Cowhides?
  21. Aw damn, i was hoping nobody had said Light My Fire by the Doors... Um, Chariots of Fire. That hasn't been said yet.
  22. It isn't a matter of right and wrong as everyone said...it's more a matter of if you are homosexual, you have every right to marry who you want (marraige laws abiding). If you are heterosexual, you have every right to marry who you want (marraige laws abiding). If you are bisexual, you have every right to marry who you want (marraige laws abiding). If you think homosexuality is a sin, fine. Don't marry someone who is a homosexual. But it's not fair to people if someone starts dictating what their religion says at all. Little violation of the constitution i feel. (you know, the whole separation of church and state thing?)
