  1. well she recognizes your existence, which is a start lol But as sworddude said, you gotta initiate some conversation with her. When she starts laughing a lot or being flirty, then it's a
  2. Shucks, i was about to post Widespread Panic and the Wood Brothers because they hadn't been posted yet...but they have in the last two posts lol. Oh well. Listen to them. Good folk/indie.
  3. It's interesting that the majority of people here listen to a genre (or genres) of music that isn't really that popular anywhere else besides...well, the internet from what i've seen. Like almost all forums i go to, people are big on bands like Slipknot, Disturbed, Metallica, KoRn, bands like that. But you won't find them to be popular anywhere else. Anyway. Thunder Road--Bruce Springsteen
  4. When i went for 99 thieving, i used pyramid plunder like any other reasonable person would. But for the transition between 96 and 97, i decided to do it the old fashioned way and try it like people before pp did, and just did casual thieving in ardy for a while. I thieved guards, stalls, chests, knights, paladins, heroes, etc. And it was a good time. I didn't push myself into doing it, only played on weekends and it took a while but it was worth it just for fun. That's as close as i came
  5. as an ex-P2P-er, i'd much rather see MP3 rather than WGS2. Sure WGS may have been interesting and all, but this series i think is the greatest out of all the quests. MP2 was so much fun to do, especially when you were low level and constantly at the threat of being dominated by shadows lol. It had a really cool plot line also, with great characters and such. Plus if we get MP3 i think we'll get the elf city opened up.
  6. well, if we're going to do anything with it i'd suggest it be elongated...not really removed or anything. If people go away for a bit, say in the middle of a minigame, they're just being deadweight to the team and they need to be logged off so the game can be played more fairly. i'd say its necessary in a lot of situations.
  7. craftin's haus *points to sig* nice job. How much did it cost you in the end, and how did you make money off of sapphire bracelets? (10/10)
  8. Hm. Interesting point here. I'd agree but only on a certain level. You seem to believe that life is enriched and supplemented by religion, by christianity, by any religion. Well there's so much to be said on this topic. One the one hand, people's lives have been altered and changed dramatically by their beliefs in a diety. Yet on the other hand, i'd go ahead and say that more people's lives have been taken because of religion. Religion shaped this world, and our world has been shaped by wars. Almost every war in early times going up to about world war I, wars were over Christianity (or at least they were pretexts for it). But wars do make life interesting i suppose on a completely separate hand...and they did make the world how it is today. As a side note: you say that the theory of God has endured the wrath of atheists and agnostics throughout the centuries. This is quite false. The theory of God has been attacked by one large group, and that group alone. People who believe in other religions. Christians were hunted down and tossed in the colesseum by Roman pagaens. Jews were hunted down by Christians. Muslims were hunted down by Christians, and vice versa. God has been attacked by a handful of philosophers ever since the enlightenment, but a handful of well-educated, dense philosophers aren't going to change the minds of the millions of people. The fact that God has stood up to the test of atheism is no big thing. The fact that one religion has stood up to others is a big thing. Coming back to the point: I think that life is indeed enriched by "fairy tales". Fairy tales can be religion, yes. I personally consider all religions to be "fairy tales" so to speak, and someone who is a Christian believes that all other religions are "fairy tales", so on. It's just my belief personally. But that's not to say i don't have fairy tales. I think without legends, myths, life is indeed quite dull. I don't have any fake legend that i aspire to (not say God is fake! When someone says legend though, it isn't necessarily true is all...). But i would say many people's successes have been inspired at least in some part by some legend, myth or religion. yet again, on the same token, society has been suffocated by religion (Dark ages?). So to sum up my argument: I believe its complicated. Life is indeed enriched on many levels by "fairy tales", but it also is suffocated by them in many ways. To say that life wouldn't be worth living without a fairy tale is a bit over the top. You have to realize this. Religion, legends, myths, etc: they all put limits on what can be done, what is possible, etc because of what the characters of the legend have accomplished. They have reached the pinacle of what there is, and there is no ascention beyond that. In all due respect, i believe that without a fairy tale, the human mind can expand endlessly. But again, now i'm really talking about religion here and this isn't the time or place. It's complicated i guess...if you're speaking about legends alone, then they're good, they help stimulate and inspire. But if you spread "fairy tale" to include religion, it gets much more messy.
  9. Very few guitarists play strictly one style. You just need to look hard enough. A lot of people know Buckethead just as a shredder with no emotion or originality. In reality he's a musical genius, he excels in every genre he's ever played. I'm sure most other virtuosos are the same way. Oh yeah, no, i've heard buckethead's other stuff. Very good. I know what you mean, but all i'm saying is that a lot of times people regard loud and fast as the paragon quality of good guitarists.
  10. Strange... in some jurisdictions, it is already. Ugh, don't play symantics with me. You know exactly what i mean. We can debate sources all day my friend. http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:LW6 ... cd=1&gl=us Um, you just debunked an argument that i didn't make. That's all perfectly true, but i never said any of that. I never said that pot is more harmful than tobacco. I said it can cause lung damage (source: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/62910.php) Nor did i make any of the other claims in that article. ... I'm willing to debate about this, but not if you take arguments out of context. Fast food doesn't intoxicate you. (it's illegal to drink and purchase alcohol if you're under 21, and illegal to buy cigarettes if you're under 18. No one has ever uttered a word about setting an age limit on smoking or purchasing pot. If it's legal for you to buy something, i think it's reasonable to say that it's pretty easy to obtain.) ok? http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:LW6 ... cd=1&gl=us
  11. So what you're saying is that people shouldn't have the choice to change their own mindsets/put certain drugs into their body? I mean, this argument I can sort of understand for harder drugs (sorta), but for weed? No way. In moderation it is fine and I see no reasons other than stigma to keep it illegal. Actually, that is what i'm saying. When you decide to live in a certain country, you get rights via the government but you also give up rights. This is a right you give up. What your saying is the equivelant of abolishing a drinking age limit, even though it would really hurt people. Although weed isn't as dangerous as alcohol, it's the same concept. You say "people have a right to do whatever they want to themselves". But they don't entirely.
  12. Make me Smile--Chicago Suffragette City--David Bowie Touch Me--The Doors Life in the Fast Lane--The Eagles Sweet Talkin' Woman--ELO (Actually, check out a lot by ELO...Evil Woman, Mr. Blue Sky, etc) It Don't Come Easy--Ringo Starr Trampled Underfoot--Led Zeppelin Long Train Runnin'--Doobie Brothers (And China Grove) A lot of Tom Petty
  13. ugh, i feel like those guitarists and that type of guitarist just plays fast and loud which is good if you like that type of stuff, but i don't think that makes you incredible. Radiohead. I hadn't really listened to any of their stuff besides like Karma Police and then i bought In Rainbows and suddenly realized that this was one of the greatest if not the greatest active band on the face of the planet. Proceed to get OK Computer, an EP, Amnesiac, everything. Brilliant.
  14. Accelerate by R.E.M. was my greatest anticipation and it met all of my standards..it was so exciting to see one of my favorite bands suddenly become really really good again.
  15. While My Guitar Gently Weeps--The Beatles Things Have Changed--Bob Dylan Born To Run--Bruce Springsteen Jungleland--Bruce Springsteen American Pie--Don McLean Everlong--Foo Fighters Touch of Grey--Grateful Dead Thick as a Brick--Jethro Tull Whatever Gets You Through the Night--John Lennon The Bleeding Heart Show--New Pornographers Lounge Act--Nirvana Wish You Were Here--Pink Floyd Imitation of Life--R.E.M. Jigsaw Falling Into Place--Radiohead House of Cards--Radiohead The National Anthem--Radiohead I Won't Back Down--Tom Petty End of the Line--Traveling Wilburys Lol kind of a long list..narrowed down: The Bleeding Heart Show Jigsaw Falling Into Place End of the Line
  16. Cigarettes should be illegal (as should pot imo), but they will never be. That's because the tobaco industry has so much invested in the US Economy, and bringing down big tobacco is like bringing down big oil or the alcohol industry (which is also a drug, and thus should be illegal, but it isn't because of its foothold in society). Cigarettes have so much money invested in lobbyists. These lobbyists help support campaigns of congressmen, and help them if not gaurantee to win elections. in exchange they make laws helping tobaco and shutting down legislation that bans it. That's why cigarettes are still legal, so making the argument that "if cigarettes are legal, pot should be too" is a bad one. It's legal for economic and corrupted political reasons. Not healthwise. It's god awful for you and everyone around you in fact. Pot won't be legal for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, is the fact that it's illegal right now. That's a huge reason. Second, saying since pot isn't as addictive as tobaco, heroin or crack or something is not a good excuse to say it should be legal (lesser of the evils). Just a terrible reason. pot can lead to depression, lack of motivation, and lung diseases. Don't want to legalize something that is a detriment to your health. Also, although pot's pretty easy for people to get, legalizing it would obviously make it much easier to obtain. It is not healthy for teenagers with developing brains to smoke--it's harmful. Here's some more food for thought. If pot was legalized and sold in your gas station just as cigarettes are, it'd be produced and distributed by a company or companies. It's a widely known fact that cigarette companies contaminate their product with almost lethal additives. Don't you think that this would probably happen with pot too? That and the obvious argument of the whole "gateway drug" thing.
  17. You ran 5:30-6:00 1st miles and had a 17 flat PR? Uhhh...i guess that makes sense if you stay consistent but no one ever does really. I love running and everything about it. Yesterday my team got 4th at state. Quite pleased about that.
  18. why, yes it does exist. 4th Dimension. You're questioning it because it has no mass, and it can't be measured as we typically measure things on a 3 dimensional plane. But you have to realize it doesn't follow those rules because time is 4th dimensional. We can believe in it because things progress in a consistent order. Time is relative? Yes, when you approach the speed of light it does slow down.
  19. Paranoid: Low Schizoid: Low Schizotypal: Low Antisocial: Low Borderline: Low Histrionic: Low Narcissistic: Low Avoidant: Low Dependent: Low Obsessive-Compulsive: Low I'm boring i suppose.
  20. Soccer's probably the most popular sport and one of the best to watch worldwide But i'm a big fan of running. 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon what have you. Running is one of the greatest sports out there. Especially cross country. You have to run against the course, battle it out against the hills. You have to battle against your competitors to edge them out and make moves at certain times to crush them. But most importantly, unlike any other sport, you have to battle against yourself. While other sports may have that element, they certainly do not compare to xc. You need to fight with yourself constantly to give it all you have, give more than what you have, despite what your brain and body tells you.
  21. A crossbow...bought it for 2 bucks. It doesn't fire so hot but i could stab someone with the bolt.
  22. Having quit runescape for a long period of time and did life without it, it's a lot better...i made a ton of more friends, had less obligation to sit at a computer instead of hang out with friends, got a girlfriend or two, etc. Don't let this game dominate your life. Have it be a hobby.
  23. I'm not sure if anyone's noted this yet or found it...maybe just hasn't posted it. Whatever. But I was bored and found this..pretty cool So Google's 10 year anniversery is at hand, or has happened, and they've allowed an option to search back from the earliest availible index. A lot less results lol. So you'll get things from the internet back in 2001. I tried googling "Runescape" and found...this: http://web.archive.org/web/200112140224 ... scape.html http://web.archive.org/web/200110060510 ... egame.html Pretty crazy..black weapons just got introduced, the second fally bank just got put in, etc...you can access the guide and most of the links on the first site. "Runescape Ingrediants Over 300000 map tiles make up the huge world Over 900 frames of animation for the monsters and players Over 400 different objects to find and trade Over 8000 items of scenery, with 200 different designs Over 900 characters all walking around the map, with 200 different designs 17 detailed 'graphical adventure' style quests " Probably a little more now lol. The old highscores are still availible (Lightning is #3 overall!) Fun to just poke around. A lot of interestin goodies in there.
  24. Gah! Stop associating God with Chrisianity!!!!! God does not imply it! That's really intolerant of all other religions. You could be Jewish and believe in evolution (most Jews do), you could be Agnostic and believe in evolution, and you could be Christian and believe in evolution! There can be a God and there can be evolution. One does not not allow the other.
