  1. This! Use the bonfire method to get rid of your logs & train fm at the same time. Arctic pines get good at higher levels. Wait, can you do lossless wc/fm like that? I thought adding logs to a bonfire didn't have an add-x menu? If it doesn't it should be lossless. Yeah but i though there was an extended delay when adding the first log to a bonfire. I dunno, though. I kinda rage quit woodcutting for a little while.
  2. Actually, you can move, drink potions, or whatever as long as you attack again at the very first opportunity. So you have 5 ticks (4 technically, because magic takes an extra tick to come out) to do whatever it is you need, and as long as you attack as soon as possible again, it doesn't drop the combo. You can even evade the giant icicle special and keep the combo going if you're quick. Thanks, that's good to know. I noticed it sometimes didn't reset the combo and i was wondering why. Still though. You half hp glacors in 6 hits so often, where the 5th bonus damage makes it under half and the minions don't spawn. I find that so frustrating. (If you're an efficiency junkie you can air strike it at this point to save ~1k)
  3. CSB is probably the best, even though the 5th shot being double damage only applies if you don't move/eat, and if you happen to get him onto half hp on the 5th hit from the double damage, he doesn't spit out minions until you hit him again, making it useless. I believe this is a glitch as it's too dumb to be intentional. Even with that crap, it still helps save 1 attack tick occasionally. CSB > Arcane > Farseer > Mages book > Unholy book

Gano and swap range for SoA. Much safer and faster. (Only SoA jad to save cash. SoA everything if you want optimal speed.) Claws aren't great for caves as the special has an annoying delay which can make kiting 360s difficult, and being in melee distance with jad is generally a bad idea unless you're experienced with it, dds might be best as things have low defense, and you won't need the EE specs very often if at all, especially with vampirism.
  5. You can easily do it, you will die occasionally but it's less than a 1 minute walk from edge hub and you can use it as an excuse to bring more urns. This is on a LRC world of course, on any other world you'd die every 20 seconds.

  7. It might be because you are using a pickaxe. Pfft. What am i supposed to use, a sissy hatchet? (I'm using a dragon hatchet. :P)
  8. I never realized woodcutting was so damn slow. 75 wc, how do i get 83? (And 99, while you're at it.) Currently cutting ivy, rather upset that my woodcutting urns aren't working here. Using dragon pickaxe and rabbit necklace. What else should i be doing?

I personally hate the RoW. It means that i get worse loot for using the best rings (Or have to swap rings every kill, which isn't fun). They should make it a permanent effect after completing a quest or something, or just remove it entirely, it's a pretty terrible idea anyway.
  10. You're still going to get Korasi 1-itemers. Korasi is 250k and has massive potential. You're telling me people aren't going to risk 250k for the possibility of Pjing someone for 50m+? Ehh... Edit: And you still get the Rushers/1Itemers who'll run around with Claws, double claw spec and tele before you get a chance to do anything. Korasi. No. 250k is a lot of money to the average noob. You'll get people in cheap strength boosting gear for sure, but they're easy to kill or just tele from. These are almost always "anti-rushers" where they will sit with vengeance prepared to veng combo any would be claw rushers. Simply don't rush the noob in rune and a strength ammy. Teleblock + Entangle + SoA + Claws = Dead rushers. Rushers risking claws+ is what you WANT as a SoA pure. You can spot them from a mile away and lure them relatively deep to ensure they won't get away from your entangles before dieing. You have not been in the Wiildy my friend. Stop giving false information. That's funny. I spend half of my time on runescape in the wildy and have had several pures and a rune pure at the intended combat level of this SoAer. Tell me what's wrong about what i state instead of simply stating that it is wrong. You obviously haven't spent much time in high risk worlds and for some reason think the same derps from +1 will bring their items into high risk, needlessly risking 250k. I think it's important i point out you won't kill 1/10th of the rushers you attempt to, i realize it reads like i say you will kill most if not all above. But by just getting 1/30 you'll make some good profit. Work on the melee switches and this increases tenfold.

Hahaha, wow, it's kinda stupid they let people do that. I can't stop laughing at the image of this guy thinking he had a really valid point then everyone just going "No."
  13. Just wanna remind you that 50m is nothing, you need a lot more for 95 prayer + 92 herblore. Do not give it away to people. Got a little off topic earlier, but dungeoneering is a good skill to train. You could use your 50m to merch while you train in dungeoneering as you won't need it available, do it right and you'll be rich in no time.
  14. You're still going to find so many 1 Itemers there. Umm. What? Those are high risk worlds, you can't use the protection prayer. If someone 1 items, they lose that item on death. You typically get maxed strength claw rushers, poor rune/void clawers, ganodermic clawers and other SoA pjers. (Wait that's at 126... Lots more poor, less bandos/gano/SoA, maybe some poly and dbows)
  15. I'd actually much rather use Virtus in the wilderness than Ahrims/mystic. You're risking 20-500m without virt, but you have 1089 hp and can easily be veng combo'd out or even rushed at an inopportune time. Or you can risk an extra 200m but be practically invincible. Plus, if anyone is stupid enough to fight SoA, they'll be tempted by the higher "risk" you have (Not a risk as you won't die :P) Definitely agree about soulsplit though. Once you have someone entangled, tb'd and constantly eating, they can often forget to watch their prayer. Or focus only on their prayer and die due to not eating. Plus with your DPS the soulsplit will heal a considerable amount of health meaning you won't need to heal, and can thus deal more damage. Plus you can drain their run and special attack. Edit: To avoid 1 itemers, stick to 124/137. The only rushers here are the bank riskers, or as i call them, your targets.
  16. Yeah :P Cutting uncut onyx's is often 1b/hour profit according to med prices, but when you try and buy/sell for those prices...
  17. Gloves only take like 6-7 hours to unlock. They give the best stats, so are useful for bossing/pvp. Not to mention dominion tower can be one of the best combat trainers in the game. You're assuming the hypothetical player has a very niche goal. (wants comp cape, doesn't care about anything other than cape) When most players either don't care for the cape and ignore skills they dislike, or want to complete the game in every sense of the word, with unlocking the best gear being right at the top of the list. Not even gonna go into the impracticality of consistently getting 600k/hour dungeoneering xp for an average 120 dunger.
  18. But thats exactly what duneoneering is, a minigame with the title "skill" tacked on to it. It in no way is a "skill", especially considering you use every skill but dungeoneering in clearing the dungeons So a skill isn't a skill because it uses other skills? Smithing isn't a skill because it requires mining to get the ores? No, dungeoneering is well thought out and has lots of uses, the use of lots of skills balances it out just so it isn't a skill which requires combat. It isnt a skill in itself, its a minigame(large one but still a game). You can't use the skill outside of the dungeons like you can every other skill. I not saying its not a good addition to the game but to say its something other than a minigame is just being in denial But thats exactly what duneoneering is, a minigame with the title "skill" tacked on to it. It in no way is a "skill", especially considering you use every skill but dungeoneering in clearing the dungeons Dungeoneering is one of the few that actually requires skill, though. Oh wow nice cape, 40000 logs right? You added 40000 logs to a bonfire? Dude you're so skillful. Minigames are fun. Runescape is a game. Whats to hate about dungeoneering being fun? I didn't say it didn't require skill, but what minigame doesn't require a bit of skill. I don't find dunegoneering fun to begin with, maybe that because I don't like playing minigames though. If they had added it as a minigame with the same rewards just reworked to balance out the time to get the rewards then I wouldn't of had a problem but adding a minigame as a skill is just weird. You can't use slayer outside of wherever your slayer creature is... You can't fish anywhere but a fishing spot... You can't smith anywhere other than on an anvil... I don't see your point. You haven't gave any real reason why it's not a skill, only why it could be a minigame. (The same could be said about literally any skill, albeit most would be too boring and repetitive to be classed as a minigame.)

You're asking for my vote, but not my input... Must resist urge to make political joke. The whole point of the shine is to inform you when it accesses the rare drop table. This is a far more useful feature than it only telling you when you get 50k. I used to get excited when there was a coinsplit at corp, till i realized that it's usually spirit shield or other garbage, so i waited an extra 0.1 seconds to read the drop. You can actually see the drop on the ground. "Stop getting excited" seems logical.
  20. Goliath gloves give the best stats in the game. Unlocking them should be something you just do as a high level player. If you break it down to how many hours spent unlocking them, and how many hours of combat you're going to play runescape and try break down the time "wasted" i think you're probably not playing for the same reasons i am. In regards to your question, if your only goal was 99 summoning from waterfiends, from scratch, it would probably be best to just use Sara Sword. Once you unlock them, 4 minutes a glove is easily doable, gloves seem to last roughly 5 hours at CT waterfiends in my experience. It only has to be a 1.3% extra DPS for gloves to be worth it, i assume it's a lot more than this. Oli makes a good point too, each glove over maul saves you ~1m/10k tokens
  21. Powerfrog replied to Rib7's topic in Rants
If you know it's always crap, stop getting excited. The ring shines whenever you access the rare drop table, which is mostly crap.
  22. At a guess based on what i seem to get I'd say 40 green, 25 gold, 10 crimson, 5 blue. They're actually a really nice bonus towards 99 summoning. (But there are better ways to train FM so...)
  23. Yeah, i just lost interest personally. I do believe goliaths beat maul (and indeed rapier) though, especially in chaos tunnels where the special, which is often worse than a regular hit as it's max is below 200, effects 5+ waterfiends and thus gives out more overall damage. Can also be used in combination with deflection prayers to finish off weak waterfiends to avoid overkill. Goliaths are a hell of a lot more DPS than maul with 100% accuracy, and waterfiends have rather low crush defense. If this experiment is going to go any further i think you'll be comparing goliaths to rapier, as maul has been outclassed.
  24. I personally just SoA everything that i can't melee, mostly because my range level sucks, but largely because range sucks in general and it's just easier. I wouldn't bother with glaivens or swifts, but i guess you literally have nothing better to do with the inventory space, so why not. Ahh yak makes sense, it's quite obvious but being a noob i didn't know if you saved space for crystals or whatever else. I'm not Chee, if that was directed at me.
  25. What do you mean by the items in yak? Sounds like you're saying you're only using 9 inventory slots, why not more brews/prayer just in case? @OP i suggest you read a wave guide so you know where to stand and what to pray as waves start, being caught off guard is the only thing that will drain supplies or kill you. Happy's gear looks good, downgrades are obvious if you can't afford what is suggested. The gloves are goliath and swift, the boots are ragefire and glaiven. Ring is tokkul, from elder kiln quest. Dragon pick + Elite Enhanced Excalibur in inventory. I'd assume a maxed player would know the other items.
