Also, in addition to having the altar right by the portal, try having a room with a mounted glory right besides the altar room. It spares a lot of time instead of using a glory that is on the other side of the portal garden or something like that.

In pure dps then it's rapier>cls>maul at td's. but since you're going to have quite high dps at them, there's a fair chance you won't keep up with the weapon speed all the time. So if you tend to be a bit slower, then a cls or a maul would be a better alternative - it is certainly easier. When you feel like you've got the hang of it, then upgrading to a faster chaotic would be a good idea.

Smelting cannonballs is a terrible idea though, unless you've got absolutely no other ways to earn money. Also, if you smelt them yourself, then sell all of them, because smelting them yourself implies that you value money too much to waste it on using the cannon, which is actually quite expensive.

Farewell & TET Memories
Scherzo replied to tripsis's topic in Announcements, Rules and Security Warnings!
My prime time in tet must have been in 06-07. Even though I didn't really attend tet too much the last year, I really have fond memories when I think back to all the events I've been in. (I'm even spotted in one picture there, and I actually remember asking who's the quiz master like it was yesterday. My greatest memory must have been the war between Zamorak, Saradomin and Guthix in the wildy, with Guthix being squished between the hammer and anvil. I must admit the memories are actually streaming back to me, more and more while writing this, so I'll just give up writing, and instead say: THANK YOU -
I'm with you. I loathe firemaking so much that I did it during BXPW before obtaining 92 herb / anything important in Summoning. >_<' I think both these posts say a lot about firemaking... c'mon Jagex It's not my favourite skill, but it's just the right amount of clicking when training with a pyrelord (at least before toolbelt) So I enjoyed getting 92! I'm glad not every skill is similar to train, that way people can train more on the skills they like. Having a good reward for firemaking wouldn't be a bad idea though.

1) This is a hard question to answer. My own block list is as follows: Jungle Strykewyrm. Desert Strykewyrm, Gargoyles, Living rock creatures, Abyssal demons and spiritual mages. In addition I block warped torts, fire giants, and the lower levelled stuff in mage slayer dungeon. But what you should block is hard to say because we don't know what you're out after. Is magic xp valuable? Do you want more Effigies? Charms? Do you Cannon. (I guess someone else could answer better) 2)Slayer for charms will make care of alot, 3x charms is a good idea (even though I'm almost never bothered) Also, tormented demons and glacors have a high charm drop rate, in addition to being quite profitable. (although for glacors you'd need either 95 magic or ovl's first) 3) move straight do draconics. They inhabit the same area as commons, so you will catch both of them. 4) Knife fighters are more xp/h, but take into account your ability to stay focused, as it's more clicking, and more brain-less clicking than in PP. 5) Start with gnome at level 80. It's not worse than clicking a pie right before climbing the obstacle that requires agil. The first level goes fast, and after that it's not even a hassle. 6) Can't really answer this one, as I've never really killed them. I know though that the loss of a yak makes banking take a lot more time. Someone else will probably answer this.

The area is now the best place to train between 70 and 75 agility, if you choose not to use barbarian assault horn. I'm actually glad that the advanced agility arenas aren't obsolete anymore, although the xp could still have been a little higher, without being the best place to train at level 99.

Does anyone know what the unleashing option on char's book does, more than the animation you get? I assume it's more than just visual, considering that it has a recharge time.

I beat her! :D Add 110 for each fire lit, that's the damage you'll hit. Don't bother about the safespot thing I said, Just run around lighting a lot of fires when She's in her rage mode. Don't care about luring her down to the water. Then just hit her as much as you can in between. The buffs aren't important, they are just helpful, and they'll be lured into your fires every once in a while if you've have around 10-12 fires lit in the room anyway.
-
it seems like every fire you've lit, adds another 100 when you damage the boss. Also, if tricked behind a flame, you can run forth and attack once without being attacked back. Got her to half health last try, think I might get her down with some patiense next attempt.

click it, and you fend it away with your torch

I believe I've seen that picture before. Am I right saying that it has been in the players gallery a few years back or something like that? Looking at concept art, and saying that it there's coming a "facelift" isn't really working, since the detail of a drawer of a model of course would be much better than a whole landscape ingame, or figures that need to be animated. But with that said, I must say that Jagex have done a good job through the years of updating the looks of this game. Comparing it to the game I started playing in 04, (rs2, so all you that played RSC must see it even more) it doesn't even look like the same game anymore.

you get a message telling you you've bought the scroll earlier.

Something in the middle of the Wilderness Volcano
Scherzo replied to Naraku893's topic in General Discussion
It does in fact, say "Behafe" in medieval runic script. The symbols for F and V are extremely similar though, so it might just be a typo. Actually, in old norse, f and v have usually been interchangeable, some difference were added with newer futhark (runic alphabet) though. So "behafe" is not really even a typo. -
First of all. Rushing through, killing only what you need to open doors, and opening all doors you don't have to pot for is a good idea. Start off with small dungeons, even though mediums are about the same xp, but to get the hang of it, start out with smalls. After a while you can think about doing the five highest floors as mediums or whatever, do what you feel like. For maximum xp, it is very important that you do all floors avaiable to you first, then reset. If you do more floors, even though every floor of a theme is checked off (ex: doing 12 frozen floors, even though there's only 11) severly cuts your xp. Reseting before everything is checked off is also terrible for your xp. Continue to use penguins/lamps and what you can on the skill, as it is very slow in the beginning (as you probably know) In strictly efficient ways, it's not even any use to training the skill at low levels, but it is fun though, at least for me. If you have any friends that is around your level in dungeoneering, or just are helpful, try duoing floors or something alike, as when you get higher levelled you'll have to get into team dungeoneering, preferably with an organised group/clan. I'd do it in p2p, since you'll get a lot of key doors you can't open if you're on f2p. There's also a cap on 90(correct me someone if i'm wrong) combat where your xp is halved if you go above it, just to avoid people abusing this. You'll have to get new binds too for every time you change between f2p and p2p, as p2p binds don't carry over to f2p, and there would be no reason to use f2p binds in p2p, as they are much weaker. And finally about Geomancer. That boss is one of the worst bosses in the whole skill. Just make sure you don't pray against it, as that will heal him. Don't range him, his defence is high against any combat style If you have any trouble with other bosses, I'd reccomend this guide - Or just wiki it for some basic info.

It's true that it's faster to go from 0% -> half full than from half full -> full. But it's the same way when you empty the horn, so it makes no difference. If anything, filling the whole horn in one go cuts down on time in team organisation, if everyone wants to do it. The best part would be to work on two skills at the same time, filling up the horn whenever a team is ready, and spending time on skill #2 when the horns empty.

I'm not a big fan of 99's, so I don't train to get them. I'd rather just do what I feel like, or set myself small goals of a level or two instead of powering through a skill so that I start to dislike it instead of eating it in small portions. That being said: If I train a skill I usually do an efficient method. Sometimes the clickier ones are fun, and sometimes I afk. (for example, I used double line pyrelord firemaking to 92, but when woodcutting, I just cut and deposit teaks at ape atoll, instead of alching/dropping/pine splitting)

Aren't special drops often dropped in powers of two. (whips are 1/512 for example, which is 1:2^9, and a lot of stuff is 1:2^8) that's why I'm guessing boots are 1:1024 each. They could of course be 1:2048, making the chance of any boot about 1:680 isntead of 1:340.

I followed the link, but denied the download thing that came with it. Idk if the link's sound.
-
I usually pay full attention to what I'm doing in rs - altough I sometimes listen to the radio, since that doesn't take my full concentration. oh and btw.
-
What I've heard from others and experienced, I think each boot is around 1/1000 (1/1024, would be my guess) The chance of getting a boot drop at all would then of course be three times as high. I wouldn't be too surprised if the average drop was even lower, but a 1500 dry streak (or how many you've killed) wouldn't be that unlikely with these rates.

They go for 5-10m a key  More if someone is selling a set Somehow I believe that a gosh key would be just a little more expensive. You've ever seen one?

Are there any special abilities with the staff? Because the staff seems to be a bit bad for a 95 slayer creature <.<

25-Nov-2011 Quick Poll: RuneFest 2012 Location
Scherzo replied to Mercifull's topic in General Discussion
London's currently leading. I like the fact that they added Chicago as an option, because if they didn't, New York would probably get their votes and vin. Seriously though - stuff like this can be a pain when working in counsils or other places where votes are cast. -
As the other said - ape atoll with summer pies and penance horn. HOWEVER - If you can't get a decent BA team (sending you to w6) It will be faster to just train agility without it, but perhaps a bit more dull.
