My interface is screwed up (large image)
Ok, I logged out with full screen on, then logged in and removed full screen and my full screen interface is still there. I can't access any other screen, the chat functions don't work, and neither do the buttons at the bottom. I can't log out, except for timing out, and relogging doesn't seem to be working. the F1-F6 keys don't work to change page. Update: Fixed now.

REMOVE ALL BUT 1- Another lazy cop out by the j4gez
I used to think people will piss and moan about anything, but this proves it. Poor baby, did J4gez hurt you? Want to take a look at the top of the page and learn how to spell "jagex"?

OMG TEH WILD GONE? The wild, the people, the rants
The wilderness didn't make Runescape popular, considering only 16% of players said PVP was their favorite activity. I'd reply to your statement on Jagex not making any effort towards pvp, but when I read it I got that effect like when you eat ice cream too fast and your brain goes all :-# . Let's see, you've got Bounty Hunter, you've got Fist of Guthix, you've got Clan Wars, and you've got the upcoming PVP updates. The two free for all arenas coming out, one is dangerous the other isn't, and you have updates to clan wars to allow a dangerous playing arena. And the price for the final product is lower than the price for the resources in any MMO you play. It's like that in WOW, doesn't mean the economy on EVERY server is screwed up, and it doesn't mean Blizzard ruined their game. The Grand Exchange just made it so people will pay what people will pay. If none of the sellers were willing to sell at below average, then the price will drop. When it comes to unfrozen prices on the Grand Exchange, it's working exactly as it should. The price will rise if enough people want it, and the price will drop if nobody will buy it at said price. And what's been nerfed or taken out? Last I checked, people complained that you die too fast in Bounty Hunter, getting piled. I don't know what twisted world you live in, but that sounds like more challenge than being able to walk away from some idiot with a dragon dagger sitting in level 3 wilderness waiting for people to walk through to the abyss. If you loved Runescape, you'd put more than .00001% of your intellectual ability (Yes, I do believe you're not even trying) when you make your arguments.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
Childish Child is Childish. By the way, I thought that your previous post was going to be your last. I mean, you didn't say anything in it, aside from passing over the responsibility of answering any points people have brought up in favor of points that didn't exist, such as people hating Runescape Classic or classic players. Apparently you don't understand that this isn't Runescape classic, it's Runescape. Gone are the days of pking everywhere, dueling everywhere, and all the other parts you bring up to show that the new Runescape is pointless and Jagex is evil or something along those lines. As an MMO, Runescape is ever evolving. If people like yourself ran it, steel would still be the most powerful armor and the highest enemy would still be about level 42, because you were to afraid to put anything in that might, gasp, change the game. If runescape was based around pking, then armor, weapons, and potions would be a lot more readily available to players from shops, not having to be created or harvested by other players, and there wouldn't be an option to turn off pvp (ala World of Warcraft PVP servers in contested areas). Also, it goes without saying that Andrew has about 10 thousand times more say in what the purpose of the game was than you do, and obviously he disagrees. Funny how you call yourself an old school player and refer back to classic on tip.it when you joined in 2004. Just saying. Yea, breaking the rules and drop trading, duping, hacking, scamming, and all those other fine things were common in Runescape Classic. If you hadn't noticed, that's part of the reason they moved on to the new engine (also for more features), so they could buff the game up against morons like yourself who had to exploit everything they came across for their own benefit. Murder and gang related violence is big in some cities and has been going on for decades. That doesn't make it right nor the laws against it stupid. As for what's bad about drop trading, you're giving another character an unfair advantage, that's why. So you end up competing with other low levels and dominating them. Wow so Jagex even got it wrong in Runescape classic? Why DID you keep playing for sooooooo long then? Obviously you've hated the game since near its inception. I also don't remember anyone saying they hated Runescape classic or its players. Pking didn't "make" runescape, otherwise a lot of people would have left long ago, unless they're all half-witted children like yourself who never grew up and still cling to Runescape like a binkie years after they common sense would've told them to stop playing.

New Quest Information Leak?
I'm pretty sure at that point he was saying it in jest, and aside from that the kbd was in a quest last year. So sorry to burst your bubble... er twice. The KBD showed up for about 6 seconds in Tail of Two Kitties, showing that Bob the cat has visited him, and I beileve the Wise Old Man fought him during a cutscene in Swan Song. Real appearance, I'll say.

Runescape Music
I like the music. Just because some people don't like it doesn't mean Jagex should remove it.

Runescape Music
It might. My runescape music stays off at the login screen every time as well.

100% F2P: An Achievement?
People who stay f2p for the status are more worried about what other people think about them than actually playing the game to its fullest. They're free to do it, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Runescape in the mmorpg community
First of all, ive been playing for years... i said that after reading posts like this on the site, i would have the mentality to hate the game and jus look over it cuz thats what is being implemented to me. All that is what the community there thinks not me...and i didnt quit for any of the reasons above, i am just done with runescape, was great fun while it lasted I see. Well then consider me :-#

Runescape in the mmorpg community
Wrong. People always said that Runescape wasn't a real MMO, far before this and last year's updates. It's because of the community, graphics, and price. Nobody has any problem grinding for months on a WoW character, but the instant you're doing it in a web browser, it's suddenly a stupid pointless task. It's called the hypocracy of the collective internet ego. And if the game is ruined for you because you were too narrow minded to explore the other 98% of the game (skills, quests, minigames, etc), then why are you still on these forums? Just because you no longer enjoy the game doesn't make the rest of us "carebears", using pathetic insults preemtively against anyone who may disagree with you will just make you look like a child (see any thread by eatrunearrow) on these forums. Gahh, read the post again? Read my post again? I was responding to your example. As for the point of this thread; Good for you? You say that if you hadn't started playing when you did, you'd just be another one of the narrow minded children that spamming forums that runescape sucks. As for getting help, I never got any, and it didn't affect me playing. I also didn't start off with Runescape, I had played Everquest and Ultima Online before coming over to Runescape.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
I love how, in Eatrunearrow's eyes, defending anything Jagex does means you look upon them as gods and believe they can't make a mistake. Typical copout for someone with the intellect of a five year old so they don't have to actually bring forward any valid statements, just blast the game and blast those who support it (Oh wait, you still play and come to the forums, FANBOY, JAGEX FANBOY). Idiot. We know Runescape isn't going to be thrown out the door when Mechscape is released because, get this, Geoff Iddison said so. I know you take whatever an employee that works on Runescape says with a grain of salt, but get this: He's the CEO of Jagex, formerly Paypal. They hired a completely different team to work on FunOrb, they've hired a completely different team to work on mechscape. A bunch of children said that Runescape would take a backseat to FunOrb. Well it hasn't, and your half-witted conspiracy theories still haven't held water after all this time. As for runescape being "past its glory" then stop coming to these forums. For a game that hasn't been in its glory since classic, it sure has taken you a long five years to grow up and "gtfo". As for the Runescape novel, no.

RuneScape isn't ruined...
Yea, god forbid Andrew attempt to pursue a company he built from the ground up, stopping it from being shut down and facing even more charges from banks after the matter. Idiotic rambling > Common Sense

Very Subtle Jagex... Very subtle
This is a new marketing strategy? So they're annoying f2p'ers by...annoying f2p pures, most of whom are the products of p2p'ers? I didn't realize pvp with pures was the only fun you could have in f2p. I must not have been there in a long time.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
The funny thing is that when a Tipiter posts these 2 lines, everyone agrees him, and praise him, even, when in reality it's not only short, but bull. So your favorite, or second favorite (whatever) game was ruined by an idiotic decision, so "don't play it"? The idiot part ruins your credibility anyways. Oh, but when someone who actually had his fun destroyed writes up his own argument, he is a moron who should be shot IRL. It's bull? Wrong. In life, I was always brought up with the idea that if there's something you don't like, you have two options. If you have control over it, either get it changed or live with it. If you can't control it, well you have no choice but to live with it. But whatever direction you take, don't whine to other people about it, they could care less about your petty problems. And here we have Runescape. The wilderness pking coming back is something that will never happen, so "get over it" works quite well when people are either still playing the game or visiting fansites 8 months later and talking about how the game is ruined and they hate Jagex and Runescape and how all of a sudden the rules are bull. Then you have people like ultrablue come in and do the equivalent of calling the police to a movie set because he stupidly thinks people are filming a murder. Without taking a second to figure out the motives or get any of his facts straight, he'll end up blundering stupidly through the following discussion and supplement his lack of facts with inane comments towards everyone who doesn't agree with him, taking an artificial moral ground to convince everyone that even though he's wrong, he's actually righter than you. And then of course Eatrunearrow will make his debut not unlike a Rob Schnieder cameo in a Ben Stiller movie, make a few stupid comments along the lines of "Wow, I can't believe ANYONE else on this forum knows what I'm going through and isn't a STUPID JAGEX FANBOY LOSER NO LIFE OMG CAKE IS A LIE NOOB", before departing to the bridge he lives under as Senior Troll.

Fixing Runescape: The MegaUpdate!
It has come to our attention that many players are quite unhappy with the changes put in place between last December and present. As you all know, the updates on December 10th, 2007 and subsequent updates were meant to combat Real World Trading while bringing back the old luxuries our players once enjoyed. So without further ado, let's look at the changes! [hide=Grand Exchange]Due to player confusion, you may now find more information in the Knowledge Base pertaining to different restrictions put in place on the Grand Exchange, such as selling and buying times and quantities. In order to keep our players informed, the timers on your account will not be displayed when attempting to sell or buy an item. For example, were you to put one an offer for one thousand yew longbows, you would receive your initial one hundred and your offer box will now show how long you will have to wait for your next shipment as well as the maximum per shipment. Not a fan of the Grand Exchange? Well you will be now, as we go into our second change: The prices on many items have changed to suit the expectations of the buyers and sellers on the market. We have also unfrozen items that previously would never change prices. We have made it a priority to get the prices right and make the Grand Exchange a suitable replacement for the following:[/hide] [hide=Trade System Changes]On one side, you'll be disappointed to hear that the trade limit is still in effect. Luckily, it only applies to gold coins! However, with the Grand Exchange now accurately portraying prices, we have decided to remove the ability to trade most items between players in an attempt to control "junk trading". As this method of trading is no longer necessary due to the aforementioned fixed prices, the items permitted for direct trade between players has been compressed in a smaller category. Armour, weapons, and most other items will no longer be tradeable except for on the Grand Exchange. Do not fret adventurers! Food and Potions are treated differently than the rest of the group. We would like to make a blatant point that these items will not show up to other players when dropped on the ground. As already said, food and potions will be treated differently. In order to promote more cooperation among players, the system of trading foods and potions is changed to be different from what you're accustomed to, but all the more useful. You will have a limit on how many foods and potions you can hand out for any given 24 hour period (a period that starts when you first give either item) The limit on foods is 100 pieces of food per day, while the limit on potions is 20 (Due to potions obviously having more time value than food). This system is in place for friends to provide one another with health and vitality while still keeping out Real World Item Traders. As you can tell, this may significantly increase the trade limit for you, as over 100k worth of food and/or potions may be traded even at once. Should you be on the receiving end of these foodstuffs, you will find them slightly different than your normal foods. The foods and potions obtained in this method cannot be resold or stacked with regular foods, but must be consumed by the player. They will be dropped upon death, unlike lended items, however. Once again, this system is to aid friends, much like Item lending.[/hide] [hide=Item Lending Changes]Item Lending has also seen a large update today with a massive amount of items now lendable to your fellow adventurers. In addition to armors and weapons being added, players may now lend skill based items ranging from chisels, tinderboxes, and even pickaxes and hatchets! This will allow players to continue playing as close to normally as possible while still being able to light that fire when they find themselves without a tinderbox in the Kalphite tunnels.[/hide] [hide=Bounty Hunter Changes]Players will find that Bounty Hunter has undergone a massive structure change to accomodate for different players problems with the formula. The first thing you will notice in Bounty Hunter is that there are three new shops running outside, manned by...Who is this? Miles, Niles and Giles? They have convinced Mandrith to take Bounty Hunter and turn it into a more businessy approach. Going back to their old tradition of serving players rather than annoying them, the three business brothers will be selling your items to your enemies should you lose them. The shop runs off of a player stock system much like any store you'll find, except they are powered by what players refer to as "death piles". As an example, a player is killed and loses a godsword, full dragon armor, and a half inventory of sharks. Miles will now have another Godsword in his shop, Giles will have more dragon armor, and Niles will have more food and possibly some potions and runes. These items will be tradeable for, you guessed it, destruction! Destruction is gained when you kill other players, depending on the market value of the loot that they drop combined with the market value of the items you are holding. Being the calculated businessmen they are, Miles, Niles, and Giles will give you a numerical estimation of how much destruction you've caused, which you can then use to spend on whatever the store may have in stock from player's deaths. Remember, the stock is finite. While ridding someone of their godsword will not give you enough destruction points to get a godsword of your own, it will certainly give you enough to grab some more food with plenty left over to dive back in and into the fray. Aside from the deathpile changes, we have also changed some core functions in Bounty Hunter. The penalty is still in effect if you kill someone other than your bounty or hunter, but the time has been significantly lessened to only a minute, of course that will be removed instantly if you kill your bounty, and your remaining time halved if you kill your hunter. So you may be asking yourself, why even have a bounty? Killing your bounty gives you a bonus percentage of destruction when he drops his loot. Bounty Hunter is a game of risk, and Madrith wants to keep it that way. For months, he has been forced to watch sneaky fighters come with nothing more than monk robes and a dragon dagger. Well, he has finally put his foot down and decided that this practice will no longer be beneficial, and cowardice will no longer be tolerated. Should a player leave Bounty Hunter whilst in combat, he will be temporarily banned from the mini-game until he pays a fine starting at 10 thousand gold and gradually rising0 every time the player commits such an act of cowardice. It must be all those questionably ethic busines practices Mandrith is learning from Miles. Players will only need to pay the find if they fled Bounty Hunter after initially starting the combat with the player they ran away from[/hide] [hide=Skill Assist Changes]Skill Assist has had a change to go along with the quest system allowing players to increase how much experience they can gain up along with their trade limit. So if your trade limit is 3k, your assist limit is 30k, while if your trade limit is 30k, your assist limit will be 60k. While this may not seem by many players as a large improvement, it is still double the earlier limit[/hide] [hide=Shop Changes]Shops also receive a huge update this week. The banks of Runescape have seen fit to give store owners the ability to hand out bank noted items at their shops for players in a hurry. Due to the surcharges placed on the general stores, they will be forced to charge more (slightly higher than the maximum market price) for the service of noted items, but this should make buying noted items in bulk much easier, such as vials and eyes of newt.[/hide] [hide=Gravestone Changes]Gravestones are now calculated and kept serverside, meaning that if you lose connection and die, your items won't be lost forever. Unfortunately, that's the furthest we can go, as this will only help with momentary disconnections, and your gravestone timers will remain active until they run out.[/hide] [hide=Random Events]Random events have been retired from their jobs of hunting autoers, and they are glad to get a vacation. Don't think they're leaving Runescape though, they have all found jobs somewhere else! Miles, Niles, and Giles have decided to return to business, and have offered to help out Mandrith get just a little moolah out of his Bounty Hunter mini-game. The Drunken Dwarf is traveling to pubs all around Runescape to say hello and share his favorite hobby. Drinking! Catch him at your favorite bar and he may just have a kebab and beer for you, and he may just teach you a thing or two about beers while he's at it. The sandwich lady has found her calling at the food courts in Ardougne, where you will find her and her ready to steal-I mean buy, sandwiches, baguettes, and bread rolls. The Drill Demon has taken on Lumbridge, and booted out the combat tutors! As displeased as he is to continue handing out the regulation training weapons and runes, he'll gladly throw in a suit of camoflage armor if you can follow his instructions on the training field, including your favorite jumping jacks, situps, pushups, and star jumps! The Freaky Forester has moved his pheasant farm to Rimmington, where players can still eagerly take his orders for certain tailed pheasants in exchange for his clothes, or just take the meat and eat it themselves! The frog Prince and Princess were spotted at the Miscellenia castle trying to seduce the princess and prince respectively. The Genie was surprised and overtaken by his lesser half, the evil genie, and is now trapped inside of his lamp, hidden somewhere around Gielnor. If you happen to spot it, pick it up and rub it to free him and get a nice xp reward. On his crusade to give back to the public whether they like it or not, Rick Turpentine attempted to give several sapphire to an unwilling patron, and then attacked him. Unfortunately, that patron was the Duke Horacio, and Rick now sits in the Port Sarim jail. Doctor Jekyll has moved in with the good scientist in Draynor Manor, and while the two were working on his portal, was zapped with a combination of electricity, and a foul smelling goo. While Jekyll still has his transformations from time to time, he is now unlikely to attack anyone wandering around the mansion...Hopefully. Cap'n'Hand has settled down for a more comforting life, roaming the seven seas! After receiving an offer from Bill Teach, Cap'n'Hand has graciously accepted the offer (We believe his response was "Yarr") and is now running the charts. Odd One Out, the game show where players answer questions and then choose a prize, has been cancelled unfortunately due to lack of funding for the cabbages and spinach rolls required for the mystery boxes. Nobody knows where Evil Bob is now. Last reports indicate he has been kidnapping monks of Entrana, maybe because they are too peace loving to fight back? Where does Prison Pete fit into all this, and why does he keep showing up in prison? Mr. Morduat has moved his classroom to the Stronghold of Player Safety, where he will be conducting the examinations of new players and teaching them the fine art of keeping oneself safe. The Beekeeper has moved into the tutoring business and will aid players in the art of collecting wax, and making candles and other bee-related creations. Leo the gravedigger has been given a job working in the Lumbridge graveyard, although he is still having problems getting the graves right. Match the coffins to their headstones and he may reward you with a suit of zombie clothes and emotes. And last but not least, the Mime has been quite depressed since his relieving and has moved up north with the Oracle on the Ice Mountain. Great, one doesn't talk, and the other we can't understand.[/hide] [hide=A Truckload of small changes]The torch no longer has Extinguish as the first option. Left clicking will not "use" the item. Pure essence will be removed from the game and replaced with Rune essence, available to all players. To compensate, members will receive the difference in the average market price between the pure essence and rune essence for every unit they have converted. You will find your runes converted when you log in. The Trawler has been updated to remove players leeching off of others. Much like the system in Pest Control, players must do their part in working on the boat in order for the profits to be spread their way. "I am Muted" is now a quickchat phrase, but only available to players who are actually muted. The phrases will be either "I am Permanently Muted" or "I am temporarily muted". We would like to remind players that abusing the quick chat system after a mute to flood the chat will result in a ban, as it will be obvious you won't be learning your lesson easily. There is now a toggle for our filter, however if your filter is off you will not be able to report for rule 1, offensive language, as a tradeoff. Spamming the chat is now under its own rule separate from rule 1, as to remove confusion from players not knowing if it was reportable under Rule 1. The Ignore list has been updated and will allow for adding 100 more players in addition to the spots already available. The Friends list has received a similar update. Menus will no longer close while in combat, instead the corners of your screen will have a reddish haze when you are hit to let you know you're being attacked, in addition to the already existing sounds. You will not be fighting back while you have a menu up though, so do this at your own risk. Legacy Blackmarkts from before 2006 will be removed on January 1st, 2009. We believe three years is enough to learn your lesson.[/hide] I'm off to bed now, but I will come back and answer questions anyone has as well as amend if people think of something I hadn't.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but: Two accounts of people getting scammed, one apparently by a notable and "trustworthy and legit" goldfarming site. V -.- V But what do I know, I just write about them as I see them. The first one was on a game review website, the second one an email I believe.
-
No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
Then it's pretty bad that a "fanboy" can make better logic defending a game than you can attacking it. Instead of retorting with sarcasm and wit, I'll just follow up with a question: What to you would be a proper PVP way to bring back better PVP without allowing Real World Trading to flourish? I've had several ideas myself, including a no-loot wilderness with Bounty Hunter's point to cash/items system, with or without the gravestone system, but I would like to hear your ideas for once. Also, this is the one time I'll agree with part of your rants, technically Jagex did lie to us. They were not stamping out real world trading at all, and they were only doing this for one reason; Because it was shoved in their face in the real world. Facing reprimendation from the banks, Jagex had to do something after years of simply banning accounts, and what they did is seen in the December updates. The updates were simple, get rid of massive amounts of autoers using stolen credit cards and get the banks off their back. If they were able to get the real world trading down to just powerleveling and account selling, you would find that catching just those two would be much easier, and I would call their anti-real world trading campaign a success. Is Real World Trading alive? Absolutely. Did Jagex do what they set out to do? Absolutely.

I must stay here?
Your account can't get stolen if you leave your computer while the game is running, unless you leave it at an internet cafe. You can die though, that's why it's against the rules.
-
Karamthulhu egg?
The interesting thing about this bug was that it was mentioned to have existed quite a bit further back than when player's figured it out, just nobody figured it out until someone died with it, which obviously is probably not a common occurance.

More Cave and Dungeons+Bosses?? (CLOSE: Again....)
I would like to see instancing in Runescape, the randomly generated dungeons they mentioned a while back that you could do with a group.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
Reading what I wrote, you're doing it wrong. Of course, I should've figured you were an "honor system" pker. Explains why even 8 months later, you're still flinging around like a whiny little child, throwing around the "fanboy" cliche at anyone who disagrees with you, topping it off with a "I'm not going to reply to you" as a copout for this thread being based around a gigantic temper tantrum when you tried to break the rules yet again and failed miserably at it because your head was too far into your own ego to actually read the news and figure out Jagex's motives before you tipped over to ye old Tip.It Forums to blast out a big teardrop on how Jagex hates their customers and is trying to ruin the game, and you're the magical cure maker who can make everyone happy and the game all better because you went through grade school and therefore know more than anyone else on this whole planet and you played during runescape classic which means nobody who disagrees with you did and they just don't get it and obviously don't have a valid say in it because they weren't "honor system" pkers who never broke the code of honor but broke the rules of the game because everyone totally does it and therefore that makes you right and Jagex, once again, stupid for disagreeing with you but please go on and make blanket statements about how Runescape was built around pking or there is no pking or staking or trading or dueling to get by not actually having to supplement your argument with intelligent and coherent reasoning as you're obviously above that point of intellect or logic and it's not up to you to make a valid argument just to remind the rest of us that we're fake runescape jagex fanboys with no lives who don't play with the sole purpose of drop trading from our main to our baby pures we created that can't supply themselves unlike yourself who still hasn't gotten over it and stopped playing or moved on after 8 months.

Wannabe Moderators.
You'll find wannabe mods everywhere. When I owned a Counter Strike 1.6 server, I never told anyone that I was the admin/owner, except in the odd case that I would have to mute or kick or ban someone, which I did from remote control under a different name. Why? Because the instant someone found out you were admin, they would start wannabe modding to get on your good side to try and get power. Moral of the story: You'll find wannabe mods everywhere you go, be it in real life (They call it neighborhood watch) or video games.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
If you don't realize that Jagex ruined what made RS popular then you are a fan boy. ... I agree with what the OP stated pretty much... Bots were bad but I can't believe anybody would want the current RS over the old RS if given the choice. Comparing the new Runescape to the old one, the old one having many of the new features (Bank, item lending, lootshare, etc) minus the whole getting-shut-down-by-June thing, I don't think I would still take it. The "pkers", not all of them I mean the ones like Ultrablue, will always complain about everything Jagex does. The only difference is that the less desirable people are quitting in droves now, because of reasons like not being able to drop trade, lure, and scam, hidden behind a thin veil of the wilderness pking. Not all wilderness pkers have this motive, but there were certainly a lot of people protesting things like when Jagex clarified that luring was a scam.
