Absolutely it should matter. The Runescape community, as a whole, has a nasty habit of hating everything new that comes out, until several months later when they've all had a chance to try it out. I'll bet you my left foot that most of the people who said they didn't like Farming had not even tried it yet, or were simply trolling as many Runescaper's do.

Umm...No. For starters the Tabula Rasa beta lasted from March to November last year. The Grand Exchange Beta has been going on for a few months. Halo3 had the Epsilon Beta before the public test. I know mods that have been in beta for years. They Hunger has been almost complete since 2005. Google Labs betas have been going since 2005-2006. It all depends on how far into development the company is as to how long the beta will last.

Get the latest drivers. To the OP: Sorry, but about the only time those settings will change is if the user changes them themselves, in which case they should know how to change it back. I would guess that very few people are having problems with high detail mode due to this. As for NVIDIA drivers, LaptopVideo2Go.com is far better then NVIDIA's site; it includes the latest drivers which frequently provide better performance. Don't say it's too complicated for the average user... you download the file, unzip it, add the inf, and run setup[Caution: Executable File]. The tutorial makes it obvious, and you don't have to worry about what graphics card you have. I'll edit this post later with more information if necessary. Not uninstalling the old graphics drivers before installing new ones can cause problems with corrupt files down the road.

+1 3ghz, 2gigs ram, 256mb ati radeon X1300pro. Works for about a minute then crashes.

When I was plopped into Lumbridge after tutorial Island, I just did what I knew from the tutorial: Fished and cooked. Then I attacked stuff and ate the stuff I cooked. Slowly I learned how to do other things.

The Jagex Channel is Jagex's youtube channel. They also used that to show a few FunOrb games about a month before FunOrb was actually released.

Because the skill is gigantic and it's much easier to release half of it, get player feedback, and work those fixes into the update with the other half instead of having to code every monster and go back and redo every single one.
