  1. That was before summoning's release; I believe it's changed now. Anyway, this summon was originally planned to be a pet, much like cats. The pet used the same item as the one obtained from the quest, thus being able to "summon" one using the quest item (and being unable to alch it). According to a J-Mod, the pet itself was tested by the testing staff, much like any other update is; it used the same functions as a cat does to allow it to be used as a pet and the actual in-game item was accidently linked to these functions too, allowing the pet to be brought out (although through an obscure method). ^ Just to clear it up. Anyway, as it's now a summon, it'd be pretty pointless to add it as a pet. I think it's pretty safe to say it's not gonna happen.

Don't know if there's a current workaround for it, but you'll want to report it as a bug to Jagex. On the RS homepage, hover over "Help" along the top and choose "Submit a Bug Report". Should be self explanitory from there on.
  3. As much as I really want Sailing to be real, I'm still a little skeptical of this evidence. :P I'm kind of on the fence with it really. If I'd only seen these supposed leaked screenshots, I'd be inclined to disbelieve the whole idea, but some of the things the J-Mods have said, plus the BTS and other various things, has made a small part of me believe it's a possibility. Either way, I think people are looking far too deep into this whole cape thing. If that really is a boat (or anything else) on it, wouldn't it be bigger and clearer? I think it's just the light casting shadows on the folds, personally. What's annoying me about this entire thing is the amount of people dismissing sailing as a crap skill before we even know if it exists or not. Use your bloody imagination people, it has great potential.
  4. It depends if you want a more practical 99 or a rarer one. Prayer would be the more practical choice, making combat easier; 99 is great for boss monsters. The issue with herblore is that you can just request assistance off someone who already has the level. If, however, you want a nice 99 that not as many have, go for herblore. I'd go for prayer, personally. But each to their own. :P
  5. Haha, I'm exactly the same.
  6. Is it though? If you consider that when you want to bank, you can simply teleport out of the KBD's lair, quickly bank and use your titan to teleport back virtually right by the entrance to the lair. Sure, taking a few extra sharks is useful, but with the lava titan you have your entire bank at your disposal, and it'll only take you about a minute to go through the process of banking and getting back into the action. The obelisk teleport things (their proper name escapes me currently :P) are alright for getting there, but you have to get to one first, and then pray it doesn't constantly take you through the wrong locations for ages. I swear the game somehow knows where you want to go and purposely doesn't take you there sometimes. :P Besides, most familiars that have a BoB ability generally aren't very good fighters; from what I hear, the lava titan is a pretty decent fighter, which is handy when fighting monsters with a high defence level.
  7. Very nice ideas there, and they're well written. One thing I'd suggest is considering Bandos boots. For me, the +1 prayer from them is far better than the +4 strength you get from dragon boots. Mind you, I've never cared much for strength. I'll be certain to try this out when I next get an iron dragon task. I just wish I had an SGS. :|
  8. If you die with a lent item it is ALWAYS protected, meaning that it is impossible to lose. Yes, they can be taken into combat too. (I'm not sure what's going to happen as regards to the skull obtained through the abyss). I'm not sure how much of an effect item lending will have on the prices of certain items; having to borrow an item every 24 hours may be a little inconvenient for some and you can only be borrowing one item and lending one item at a time anyway. You have to find someone willing to lend their item as well. :P
  9. It's a bit of a trek through the maze, but I believe there are greater demons inside the underground part accessed through the ladder in the centre. I don't know how busy the greater demons in Brimhaven have been of late, but if you're struggling to find an empty spot, you may want to consider these. I can imagine it would be pretty much empty on every world which means you can have them all to yourself allowing you to get through your GD tasks a little quicker. Plus, there are 2 rune rocks in there, so those with 85 mining can mine them and wait for them to respawn while they do their task. You'll want to watch out for the black dragons, though. Here's a link to the map: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=lava_maze_und.htm EDIT: I've just realised there're lesser demons near the centre of the maze; assuming revenants aren't too frequent there, that would be a good place to do some lesser demon tasks too.
  10. I believe there's a bug preventing the quest from being completed, so you can't do it right now. As they say, it'll be fixed with the next update.
  11. This makes sense as there is really no way Jagex Mods can get to all of the post... I have always wanted you to explain that pic btw : ....? There was a bug in the forum once where some users where appearing as Jagex or Forum mods when they weren't. I believe they could see the some of the hidden forums they weren't meant to, but they couldn't actually access them. Part of the moderator interface was available, as the pic shows. I'm going on what I've heard, though; I didn't see this first hand.
  12. It's not something you should be able to see. If a thread is escalated, I believe it means a F-Mod has set it as "escalated" so the thread gets the attention of Jagex.
  13. I'm in exactly the same position. I got a permanent ban for password scamming after pretending to buy a friend's account for 4gp (I handed over 4gp and said "Pass please", which is what got me banned), some wannabe mod probably reported me. This was before the new appealing system, so I was shown no evidence and had to blindly appeal twice; fortunately I got my ban knocked down to 3 days and the evidence shown to me AFTER I appealed meaning I could no longer appeal. I'm now stuck with 7.5 black marks from a legacy punishment that I'm never going to get anything done about. It pisses me off to hear Jagex spouting off about how, as I'm in the "red zone", I show disregard for the community and how I don't wish to play without having a negative impact on others. Absolute bull, I'm probably nicer than 95% of people in this game (not to sound arrogant, but jeez, it's not hard :?). Yet those who go around showing "disregard to the community" by saying all sorts of nasty stuff to others usually only get a few black marks, and now those black marks aren't even permanent? Sorry for the rant, but seriously, Jagex customer support is a joke. They claim they're making changes to help benefit the genuine players of RS, but all they ever seem to do is screw them over.
  14. I know, I was just trying to inject some humour into the conversation... :-w Obviously I failed. :P Out of interest, can you take familiars with you while law crafting? Or are they not allowed on Entrana?
  15. You answered your own question there. :P But yes, I do see what you're saying. Hopefully, if many players take note of the dwindling profits from nature RCing, they'll move onto other means of making money; if this decreases the supply of natures enough it could cause the price to rise a little.
  16. Doubling's still alright: Current Pure Essence Price: 153 Current Nature Rune Price 2x: 494 Profit: 341 Now, that profit is profit per pure essence (NOT nature rune); I can probably craft around 2K pure essence an hour, which makes almost 700K an hour. It's not bad still, but it was a lot better in the past. If your law prices are correct, laws are the way to go. More XP and a higher profit is a win win situation. That would still cause price drops, just in rune essence this time; this would still cause players to lose money. There's no real solution to the differences in the essences that I can see of that doesn't hurt some players in some way. I think it's left best unchanged anyway. One idea that may help lower prices (this isn't my idea) is to increase the mining XP given from mining pure essence. It would encourage people to mine it, bringing more into the economy, which should cause the prices to drop somewhat. Whether it would have a lasting effect, I dunno.
  17. pretty nice what skillcape is that? Runecrafting.
  18. Excalibur, new vs. old.
  19. Hehe, this isn't RSC anymore. :P And wow, the number of 99 Runecrafters has risen quite a lot since I got it.
  20. You're right, it does look pretty cool. 8-)
  21. Well, I'm not going to jump to conclusions as to whether Sailing is real or not, however there have been times when multiple skills have been released within a relatively short amount of time. Take Construction and Hunter, for example; I believe that gap there is roughly 6 months. It's been almost 6 months since Summoning's initial release, so I wouldn't say it's impossible for a new skill to be released soon. Hunter also made an appearance onto the updated bug reporting system by accident, I believe that was a few months before the actual Hunter update was released. Perhaps it's possible that with the site being re designed, this accidently slipped onto the high scores at some point. Again, I'd like to stress that I'm not drawing any conclusions on whether Sailing is a reality or not, I'm just stating a few facts. I like the idea of Sailing and would welcome it as a skill, but I am a little scepticle about the evidence posted in this thread.
  22. Doesn't lag for me, no... But then again it shouldn't with 4GB ram. Virtual machines normally tend to work well on anything 2GB+. 1.8GHz processor with 1.25GB of RAM. I'm in such dire need of a new PC. :( When I get around to getting a decent PC I'll give this a whirl, though. :P
  23. If you're suggesting a dual monitor setup, that won't work. RS restores out of fullscreen mode whenever it loses focus, that includes clicking anything on another monitor. Sounds like the only way this'll work. :P It's a shame my computer isn't decent enough to do that. Does it lag at all?
  24. Good news! They're gonna fix it. :) (This is taken from 15-16-910-57092831)
  25. I must agree, I had some in my bank and i was scrolling through my bank and was like WOW I must be the only one who thinks that armour looks awful. :?
