Alchohol is fine, as long as you don't stupidly drink to excess every weekend just for the sake of getting smashed. Other drugs to me are...pointless. Smoking really does seem stupid to me, I can see the potential reasons for using other drugs, but their addictiveness and the damage they cause you aren't worth it. Drugs have a tendency to mess you up, badly. Having a drug addiction is not somewhere you want to go. God knows how many lives they've ruined. That said, I wouldn't have a go at anyone except my best friend for using drugs. It's their decisions and their lives, and as long as they don't drag me down with them i'm fine. I just wouldn't want my best friend to because I wouldn't want to see him get sucked in and destroyed.

My parents trust me, I was a very chilled placcid child, so I didn't try anything. Nowadays, although i'm still responsible it means I could potentially get away with more :D

Sorry, but what? I wear rune armour a fair bit for killing stuff that isn't worth the higher defence of my other armour, and i never get called a noob for wearing it. Heck the only armour i've ever seen Gearshifter in is full rune. Make sure you haven't incited them in the first place. And just ignore them. Be cool, don't stoop to their level.

To be honest I don't see how they're hugely different from just meeting up at someone's house with a load of guys and girls. Okay, so there's potentially some sleeping going to be involved but if you're just friends I don't why suddenly because it's dark you all have to turn into horny teenagers with raging hormones. I've got loads of friends-who-are-girls and would never think of as anything other, regardless of the time of day.

I agree with most of what was said in the article, except the bit about selling the ideas behind the game. What makes the MMORPG's so effective is their simple addictiveness and playability, and that isn't something that you could be sued for plagarising if you used it. This isn't like stealing ideas behind a book or using the same chord pattern as a hit song without permission, this is simple marketing.

I'd go for innocent (right) until proven guilty (wrong) for most cases, unless i really dislike the person.

You seem like a decent kid, so i'd say yeah, your parents are a little tough on you. I'm sure they think it's in your best interests, but I think that abusive language and physical abuse against your children should only ever be used as a very last resort, which in your case it doesn't seem to be, so I would say (without fully knowing the circumstances) that it's totally unnecessary.

I laugh at people who try and buy popularity and school, it's pathetic and will do nothing for you in the long term. Again, if you don't have to work for and earn it, will you ever appreciate it? Fair enough. So don't buy a car if your school studies are suffering. Most people I know who go on those life changing gap years fund them themselves anyway, and the ones who don't tend to get less out of them. There's a difference between "can" and "will". God i'd be scared if I ever felt like I had to play this game. I play it because I enjoy it in my free time. If i'm busy, or feel like doing something else, then I won't give it a second thought. Quitting simply because you're addicted seems like a last resort to me, just cut back.

Yeah, can't say I would make friends like that at all either. Okay, so you don't need the friends, just politely tell him to mind his own business and say goodbye. I think it depends on the song, entirely. Generally I listen to more male vocals, but some of the most beautiful songs i've heard have been sung by female vocalists. Eva Cassidy, Enya, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Dusty Springfield and Doris Day spring to mind.

Well, that's really on par with (allegedly) educated middle-class youth pretending to be disenfranchised street gangsters. True, and it was the same with the hippies about 40 years ago. But emoism seems to be the preserve almost purely of middle-class teenagers, whereas the gangster culture is found across nearly all classes.

I do think it's a shame really to see the subculture founded on the principles of expressing emotions (which I don't have a problem with) has been reduced to a group of middle class teenagers following the scene (which I do have a problem with). I reckon half the people who claim to be emos nowadays (if they do at all) don't know what it's really about, and just think that by having long black hair and wearing tight clothes they're true emos. Hah.
