Depression...
You're not the only one by any means. When i'm going out with a group of my friends I have a blast, laugh, have a great time and forget all my worries. But when i'm on my own I can often get quite down. I'm a bit of a deep thinker, I also ponder the meanings of everything and what I really want in life etc. I might listen to some sad, quiet music (not really emo) and not really seem the happy type at times. Sometimes I don't feel like going out or seeing anyone, and just want to block myself away from the world. I think, and I hope it's just a phase. My work at school isn't suffering a bit, so i'm not really worried about it. I'd say my happiness (and lack of) is probably linked to a girl I know, who i'm crazy about. It's probably a state of limerence and love. Anyway, I get over it by looking beyond the moment and into the possible future. I realise that i'm lucky to be who I am and have what I have, and life's too short to spend too much time feeling down. It also helps knowing that other people have been there before, so i listen to upbeat unrequited love songs amongst others.

Stupidest Thing You've Eaten
The top of a Prit-Stick (glue) probably wasn't a good idea... or a blue (basically raw) steak from a restaurant where everyone else got food poisoning from medium steaks. I don't know how I dodged that bullet.

Keeping Healthy.
Just because you can't see the effects of what you're doing, it doesn't mean it's okay. Fat and lipids can slowly build up in your arteries over years, without you actually getting fat until one day, bam, heart attack. Smokers can smoke for years with nothing more than an occasional cough and then one day, bam, you've got lung cancer. I'm not a doctor, but you should seriously cut down on the amount of coke you drink every day. It's not healthy, the sugar won't be doing your teeth or body any good, even if it doesn't make you fat, and it's not needed.

Keeping Healthy.
I'm reasonably active, and have a pretty good metabolism and so can eat a lot of crap without putting on fat. The best advice to just staying healthy and feeling good is to eat five fruits and vegetables every day. Drink around 2 litres of water every day, don't binge drink or smoke or take drugs. Get yourself breathless for 20 minutes at least 3 times a week. Go easy on the fatty and sugary foods, but don't be put off completely. If you're going for a burger or steak try and make sure it's good quality. This isn't easy, and looking back on it I fail on a few counts, but it seems to work.

The abortion debate
I believe the choice should entirely be with the mother. This I think is fairly obvious. I'm also for abortion, on all counts. For several reasons. Basically, before abortion was legalised in the UK you would get "backstreet abortions" which were unofficial and often involved vinegar and hosepipes, nasty nasty. These were dangerous and would often lead to the death of the mother. Basically, no matter what the law says, people will try and have abortions, often with devastating consequences. I don't have a problem with the morality of abortions either, however I do think that abortions shouldn't be carried out after the baby could be considered independant, i.e. if you were to remove that baby from the womb it could survive reasonably independantly. Before this point the baby could be considered dependant on the mother, and in my eyes, not truly a separate human being, and it is therefore the mothers choice as to whether or not she wants to bring this baby into the world. However, abortions can be very traumatising, and so there should be proper counselling and advice for the mother if she is considering an abortion

Favourite Sports?
What is your favourite sport(s)? Rugby, cycling and sailing (and tennis). Why do you like this sport(s)? Playing rugby is great fun, charging about with your mates. Cycling is a great way to push yourself and discover your limits. It's given me some tough lows when you feel like you can't go on, but some incredible highs when I reach the top of that mountain. Sailing is simply exhilirating. Tennis is good fun, a very mental game as well as physical. How good are you? Have you ever won any competitions? Got through to my county finals for rugby, play for the school A-team. Cycling, well I suppose maintaining a 20mph average speed over 75 miles was not bad. Sailing, nothing much, completed a few qualifications but mostly I just do it for fun. I'm ranked 6th in my county for tennis. Who do you play with and where? Rugby, my friends and at my school. Cycling, mostly on my own (easier to go at my pace). Sailing, with my family in Cornwall. Tennis, for my school, local club and recently in the south of france.

Some Advice, Please?
Foolish mortal, I am surprised that the master has neglected to smite such an uneducated person as you. What do you kids get taught in school nowadays? Not geography it would seem... That's silly, it's obviously the pink one in the bottom right hand corner of the map. :P No silly, that's Austria, which Hitler (bad man) invaded in 1939 by sweeping through China and the Middle East and then sailing over the ocean. Sheesh, get it right... [/offtopic] Talk to her, as David Gilmour said "all we need to do is keep talking".

RIAA and fellow lowlives start spam marketing campaign!
As other people have said, what limited knowledge I have about how p2p networks actually work, would lead me to believe that this won't be effective. Actually credit to the RIAA for thinking of a way to exploit the file sharing market, it's not great, but it's a start I suppose. Even if i was to download a fake song, the time it would take me to find the real thing wouldn't put me off. Oh noes, a few adverts on file sharing networks, although I use them, I concede there should be some kind of incentive to buy the real thing.

Cheap days out?
Go on a school organised tennis tour to the south of france for 6 days. It's what I just did and I had a blast. Failing that, bike rides with my friends are always good fun, even if it's a bit cold for them. Ice skating is good, and near where I live is a place called XScape, where you can go skiiing, rock climbing and stuff, which is good fun for a one off type thing.

Yea..So I got to see my tibia (shin bone)
Now that sounds like my kind of cricket! :D But seriously, ouch. I've put big dents in my shins quite a lot falling off my bike and they always seem to hurt a lot to say it's mostly bone.

A deep, philosophical question...
I...don't know. Maybe it's because you're fundamental statement is flawed. What if you're not really awesome at all? Now there's a puzzler.

Activists and Fur Farms
I'm not going to get sentimental about a few minks dying, I eat meat so when it comes to animals I do place my wellbeing above animals. Normally I don't agree with eco-acitivists, especially when they go for other humans, that's not right. However, I think on principle maybe this is what the mink farmer needed. I don't care what people say about his right to a job, there are hundreds of thousands of other jobs out there that he could get, and to me the mentality of fur coats isn't right. Those animals aren't being eaten for meat, we're not inuits we don't need fur coats to survive, fake fur is just as effective. So if a man who breeds innocent animals for fashion loses profit, and some expensive shops lose out on this years latest fur coat, so what?

Bush sneaks in a ban on online gambling with new bill
Ugh...why? I don't see how internet gambling is any worse or more detatched from real gambling. There are problems with both, sure, but why ban one which lots of people just play recreationally without getting hooked or anything. I remember reading an article about housewives who'd gamble a few dollars everyday, they liked the anonymity and non-sex biased aspect that internet gambling provided. Okay, so it's potentially dangerous if you get addicted, but so are so many things that are legalised, why ban this one?

need a song
Sad songs? Several spring to mind, not all might be appropriate though. Fields Of Gold - Eva Cassidy: Sad, reflective song, could be about someone you lost to an illness or something like that. Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton: Again, it's fairly sad and was written about the loss of Clapton's son. Vaka - Sigur Ros: Lord knows what it's about but it's beautifully sad and moving. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley: Ignore the religious overtones, at the heart of this song lies a beautiful echoing sad (yet uplifting) melody and haunting vocals. Everybody Hurts - REM: This almost a "don't jump" song, but if you could get an instrumental version (if there is one) the melody is fittingly sad.
