What sound card do you have? If you're using a card from the soundblaster series, you can choose an option called "What U Hear" which will allow you to record any audio that passes through your soundcard.

I'm happy to order from Ebuyer, Overclockers.co.uk etc. I'm running a 19" single but might be upgrading to dual screen so will need to accomodate that... 500w PSU (brand new today, hahah) calculated I'm currently running just under 400 so no probs there. "High Power Plus" from PC World (I figured they have warranty and returns, in case the problem I was fixing wasn't PSU based. :D Prefer to spend as little as possible, but I won't spend over 100 quid. Running at 1280 x 1024

Thought I'd take chirstmas as an opportunity to upgrade my graphics and get some new games... What would be substantial to play newer games on? Dragon Age, CoD etc. I'm running AMD Athlon X2 6400+ with 3gb Ram (4 installed, 3 active with XP.) I'm on 256mb graphics at the moment but it can't hack newer games, so I'm looking at the new Nvidia series of graphics cards - most notably a 1gb card. Can be PCI-E but PCI is fine too.

Went to the Vans Music Night a few weeks back, saw Fightstar, Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses and Attack! Attack!. Enjoyed it! FFAF were great, no encore though :/ Saw bowling for soup before that, good fun but rubbish support bands... Lostprophets are in town soon but 22.50 is a complete rip, so probably won't bother. Reel Big Fish in Jan (3rd time! hooray!)

been to a couple as birmingham has quite a big DnB scene, but they're not bad. If the artists are crap, the night's generally crap. Off to see Oakenfold at Gatecrasher next saturday though. whee.

Yeah. After some logical thinking, it could only be the PSU - my computer was shutting down after being turned on, so it wasn't a faulty power switch. Wouldn't be overheating either as it was literally just unresponsive. Anyway, just bought and fitted a new PSU and it's all systems go. Another problem though - I can't screw it in because of my case. Holes for the screws are in the complete wrong place...is there another way to keep the whole thing in place or should I start poking through for new screw holes? :D

Howdy chaps! Got home last night and started my computer up, it started for about 15 seconds and then shut itself off. It did this a few times and now it won't work at all...not sure what's up as I've checked all leads, connections etc and they're all connected and seem fine. The Mobo and power switch LEDs are both working, so i'm guessing it's not a PSU problem...anyone shed any light on this before I rip myselff off and pay to have it repaired? cheers

yeah, i've been recommended an Epiphone. will have a look for second hand because as long as they're not overused it doesn't matter to me! Looks like either of the two can be found second hand for a decent price so i'll check them out. Some are 100... There's always going to be a couple of pillocks who take everything too far or do something stupid. Sport brings violence, music brings violence, hell, cooking brings violence. it might spur it on a bit but just because it's an obvious example in a computer game, doesn't mean it should be banned. Did anyone hear about the first Blues/Villa game when blues got back into the premier? My mate had to literally run from the ground at the end because he saw 2 people get stabbed - and that was just where he was. Totally see what you mean on the exaggeration point, but sometimes a game needs it. Then again, sometimes not - IE as mentioned, Oblivion. Great FPS game, minimal violence - no limb removal or headshots or anything, just a bit of classic sword/body interaction. yay. Some games just require it though - Loaded on PS1 was a total bloodbath - part of the fun.

Our water supplies don't cause lung cancers or any other diseases to begin with. With due respect, it's ridiculous to compare cigarette smoke to fruits and household utilities. A cigarette has thousands of industrial chemicals you would *never* be exposed to otherwise were it not for smoking cigarettes. Nearly all of these chemicals react with your body in a way that deteriates it's structure, damages it's cells, or like in the case of over 400,000 americans every year, death. I don't personally feel bad for smoking, but when I do it, I make sure not to do it anywhere near people that may not smoke, especially children. I'd never expose my kid to the filth a cigarette contains. So why's it bad that a cigarette contains arsenic and cyanide? What i'm trying to say is it's a hugely minimal amount, just like in what we eat and drink. It's not ridiculous at all, it's the same chemical - yes, smoking is bad for you, but you're exposed to the chemicals in smoke a lot more often than you think.

Probably XBOX. They tend to be cheaper and realistically, the differences are minimal. Make sure you get a HD. :mrgreen:

Not sure what style of music, I want to be pretty versatile because it's gonna be for playing over stuff produced on a computer, maybe some dnb/breaks etc - so i'll need something that can do a lot of things. Not sure really. Hahah. I've got a big marshall amp/cab and a few smaller amps which arn't great. I dunno, they're not mine - my dad has played for probably 20 years but only ever played stratocasters! I'm probably more geared to just a sort of rock sound - nickelback and whatnot. Nothing too filthy and nothing too weak, just a full-bodied sound. Also got plenty of paid software but that's probably not as good... Yeah. I'm pretty beginner. :mrgreen:

How exactly does smoking and intelligence correlate? Many very intelligent people over the course of history have smoked. There is no logical reason to smoke; Hence it being non-intelligent (it only has cons and bad sides). I've smoked too occassionally, mostly to calm nerves in extreme situations, but I can admit he has a point. Association by intelligence doesn't make smoking any better either, fallacy. Cigarettes have thousands of carcinogenic chemicals, hundreds of plain-out poisons, industrial toxics [1]. Knowing the facts and still continuing to inhale smoke that has arsenic, cyanide, carbon monoxide, benzene.. Is thus pretty dumb. Acknowledging the facts is more logical than ignoring them, even if you smoke regularly (or occassionally, like me). I think you're being a bit too one-sided here. Arsenic's found in almost all water in our supplies, Cyanide is found in Cherries, Almonds, Lima Beans, etc. The amount in a cigarette is incredibly minimal, it's not like a huge overdose of poison everytime you smoke. I'm not saying smoking's a smart thing to do, but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be. I myself smoke very rarely (usually during a drink) but I don't mind it when I do. Most commercial cigarettes are full of rubbish and taste terrible, tobacco and paper is just much much better, and a lot less of a rip off too. Shisha is ace too! Of course, the real pillocks are the ones who are constantly wanting to quit and caving in every time. I wanted to quit (from about 3-4 cigs a day) and I did. Cold turkey, bleh, screw it. I'd still say i've quit - smoking occasionally isn't smoking like most people see it. People who know what it's doing to them, don't like the fact that they smoke and are constantly making their life less bareable are the real idiots. If you're gonna do something unhealthy, you may as well enjoy it.

Just phone them up and explain the problem I guess. Chances are what you're getting is from an automated system of sorts.

At the end of the day some people just need to chill the sod out. I went to a Diwali celebration this year. Did I start telling them it was wrong and change this because it's offensive? Nope, they blocked off an entire street for it and I joined in cause of the pretty lights etc. That's what it comes down to really, just enjoy your traditions and leave other people to theirs.

I'm 19 now, and a fair bit changed, mostly because of how much of a pain in the arse it is to do anything where I live unless you're 18! It's good to be able to get into bars, and even restaurants which used to turn me away for being under 18. Why, I don't know - we ended up going for Indian food all the time because pubs used to just kick us out even if we didn't drink and just ate! Makes you wonder... It's a lifestyle change for sure. Then again, I didn't go to a bar on my 18th, went for a meal instead - at an Indian. :mrgreen:

I want to get a new guitar around christmas. Maybe with my grant in Jan... Can anyone recommend me something to start out with? I have a stratocaster atm but not really liking it, very thin sound. I've been looking at the Ibanez GAX30 which looks pretty hench - don't want anything expensive, but just a nice clean, thick and warm sound. Probably £150 tops? Already got plenty of amps and stuff here so that's no problem!

I've been thinking of writing a book lately, or at least see how it goes when I try it. Does anyone have any experiences to share, tips to give, stories etc? I've been checking out the whole plan everything out method and that seems like the best way to go. I'd like to write about some sort of music artist, probably his career + love being taken away from him somehow. but with a happy ending. :D so, anyone?
