  1. ^^ Gotta agree with Pendulum. It's just DnB for students who don't know anything about the genre whatsoever. they're completely bastardizing dnb and noone even cares! had some great tunes before hold your colour but after that everyone could enjoy them. which sucked. I think Panic At The Disco take the biscuit though.
  2. You're hammered in both rob what's the difference? :P] True, but this one's more up to date, plus i'm in less of a state and quite dressed up (considering it was a local beer festival.)
  3. Hope this doesn't count as bad language but; Stephen Clarke's "Merde" series atm. i've read A Year In The Merde and almost finished Merde Happens, going to read the others next. Love Joe Simpson's books too.
  4. please replace my pic #2 (the one where i'm hammered) with this one; good stuff
  5. If you want to compose - learn the basics, then expand on them yourself. Try out weird note combinations - if it works, use it.
  6. I bid to you a simple question; digital technology was invented around the mid-twentieth century, but in the past 15 years or so has become the standard for all of us. Most transmitters in the UK are switching to digital television Digital radio is fast replacing traditional radio Animation is almost always CGI in the modern day Digital printing has replaced traditional printing A lot of our music is bought digitally. The list goes on. I am a home music producer and engineer, and one of the largest arguements revolves around digital vs analog. We have fantastic digital sound technology capable of all sorts of advanced crap - but do we really need it? All engineers strive for that extra edge of sound quality, but it's just rubbish. Music, in my opinion, has become way too clean, because it's all digitally processed, perfect signals - where's the grunginess gone? Music is also loudened to the point where it has no dynamics - put in a heavy metal, pop or dance music CD you bought a few weeks ago and watch your system go crazy. Now put in a CD from 30 years ago - different? I thought so. The reason is because, 30 years ago, a thing called DYNAMICS existed, where the music is sometimes, just sometimes, at different volumes. Want it louder? Get better speakers anda turn the knob up. Done. Anyone can be a musician these days, and that's why music is rubbish. It's free to write, it's free to promote yourself, and thus, you don't really need the talent to do it, you just need the right marketing. Clever marketing has gave us wonders before such as McDonalds and Starbucks - there's no room for the little guy anymore, and it's either overpriced or just crap. What I feel like is as if because of digital technology, anyone can do anything, and there's no intuition really needed any more - people don't dream, they just do it. We now have hundreds of radio stations and tv channels for everything from soaps to a constant weather channel and foreign channels, but do we really need them? I'd happily settle for maybe, 12 or 15 great quality channels and skip the rubbish. So I ask you; do you think digital technology, on the whole, is rubbish?
  7. Probably Worms (series). Great idea, endless playability, endless fun. Best PC game ever.
  8. My brother was on some really strong painkillers once and when he woke in the middle of the night, he saw a kid sitting on the end of his bed. :s Also, a friend of mine was a notorious sleepwalker and once got out of bed, unlocked the front door, walked down the street to the bus stop, and tried to get on the bus when it pulled up before the driver woke him up. Crazy stuff. Ooh one more, once I woke up mid sleepwalk about 11pm, thought "id better put my school jumper on or me mum'll be mad," got it halfway on and fell back to sleep, then walked downstairs and asked what time it was cause I thought I was late.
  9. Looking for any kind of action/adventure/rpg games. Shooters are good! I am playing through the orange box at the moment, but the gameplay is far too linear to enjoy... I want something on a bit of a puzzle tip, where everything's not set out for you step by step, have to use your brain a bit etc, more than one way of doing things. I like games with missions a lot, and games with a huge storyline (ffx for example - though that was a bit boring.) Saying that though, full on shoot 'em ups are good too ;) Any recommendations would be great (especially if they're cheap on play.com) I'm going to be borrowing God of War 1 + 2 off a mate in a few days as I saw the gameplay today and it looks awesome!
  10. What encoder/bitrate do you use? You got nearly double the amount of songs that I have but only 10GB more space. :? Could be AAC. AAC encoders are insane and sound great compared to mp3! Can't beat WAV though...
  11. Ah, I loved that game! Truly a great storyline. Was amazing to play from start to finish. So dark and yet so innocent :)
  12. well, i couldn't find anything - i do have a "job" online but it's not simple surveys or anything, proper data entry. maybe you could try asking your mum for chores to do. know it sounds a bit daft but if you shovel it all into a jar you'll have loads of cash before you know it!
  13. You won't find anything. not unless you pay for it. :/
  14. Generally, people who just arn't curteous and friendly. I never understood it, what little effort does it take to say "excuse me" or "thankyou" or hold the door for someone quickly? Almost none, that's how much, and yet people don't even bother. I'm not asking for a song and dance because they're ecstatic and super happy, but general common manners and just treating people like people and not scum is all i'm after. The other day I got on the bus at 5:55, and it has to be 6pm to get an evening saver (which is ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã1 cheaper and lets you catch buses all night using one ticket.) Because it was only 5 mins, the driver said "tell you what, pay for your ticket when you get off instead." It's incredibly rare that Travel West Midlands drivers are ever helpful or friendly, and it took very little effort for him to do that. It saved me a pound and put a smile on my face just for him to say a few words. Now explain to me why people can't even be bothered to be friendly and curteous.
  15. Can't force her to do anything either way. A judge can't say "you must live at home even though you're 18" to her! It sounds like they are gonna have some trouble letting you go. I too have experienced the whole jealous dad thing, my missus' step dad can't stand the fact that I exist, will hardly ever let me in the house, whereas her mum likes me and has no problem with us. She even lies to her husband about where she's stopping because he'd flip out about it, but it's needless. Anyway, nuff about me - you've gotta take into consideration that you're moving 1500 miles away. You and your boyfriend have been together for 3 years and i've no doubt in my mind that you'd love the extra space you get living together, no nosey parents or anything, but if you're leaving the nest, you've gotta understand that parents kind of see it as the end of an era - the end of where they're truly parenting you and you're ready for the wide world on your own. Home obviously isn't a good situation for you, especially if you're being held down at your age - you can't put a sunflower in a dark shed and expect it to grow. If you're worried that your dad is actually gonna hurt you or your boyfriend because of it then to be honest, you probably need to be a bit of a [bleep] to him - not implying anything, btw - and just sod off to Arizona weather he likes it or not. If he comes 1500 miles across the country to find you two, be ready with a baseball bat and tell him to get the hell off your property. Your dad isn't always right - you're both growing up and you both need to do what's best for you, not some selfish parent. As I say though, I don't mean this offensively to your dad, he has genuine problems by the sounds of things. Your future is important, Kayla, and it involves decisions you (and your boyfriend, of course) should be making, not your parents. You're not doing anything bad - you're getting away from your problems, at least until they settle down a little, and you're making a life for yourself. You can't let people stand in the way, it's complete crap that they're saying you're too stupid to make your own decisions, you're making a wise decision and doing something you want to do, they're just trying to make it for you because they're being possessive and don't like the decision you're making - not because it's the wrong one in their opinion, but because you're moving away. Do yourself a favour and get out and live your life. Any kind of a parent would support your decision, not make it for you. You're doing the right thing following your dreams, so don't let anyone tell you any different. You're not a cretin, you can look after yourself and you have a wonderful boyfriend to support you through thick and thin, and uni will be the time of your life.
  16. Ghostbusters. Come on!! :D
  17. Maybe it's time American government backed off and left them to it. They have their own bloody country to run, not half of the middle east aswell.

It happens. I felt horrible last night for no reason, but the best thing to do is not to dwell on it and cheer yourself back up. It's to do with a lot - being bored after enjoying yourself, hormones, allsorts. By the sounds of things though, it seems like you might be unhappy at school, and if you are you should tell someone or sort it out yourself if possible. You might not know what's bothering you but if its to do with school im sure someone could help you figure it out. Not much is more important than your happiness :)
  19. i met him as well. been my favorite band for a long time and it was amazing seeing them live finally. He spent 15 mins adjusting the stage lights though cause he didnt want anyone to notice he was going bald  Edit: did you see the whole band or just kris on his acoustic tour of blue skies broken hearts? I saw the whole band as they did a headline tour in may in the UK, would have LOVED to have gone to the blue skies acoustic tour though. Met Kris after the gig and got his autograph, then saw the drummer and guitarist in mcdonalds after the gig and waved at them! hahah. Phil, that looks awesome. hope you had a great time there mate :)
  20. ^^ On this subject, the other day I saw the video for Tupac's "Changes," havn't seen it in ages and it made me remember why people say that rap is the poetry of the streets. Somehow I don't think "SUPERSOAK DAT HOE!" is "poetry." It's sad because I was under the impression that the rap genre was recovering a little and becoming something a little more respectful. Obviously not.
  21. Ah it's not problem, wasn't moaning, just look like a pleb now cause I posted 3 posts apart, 6 months apart 8-)
  22. Pro Plus if you can get 'em. Used to take them at work to keep myself awake when I was working late. I'd get going now - keep yourself full up with carbs like pasta and rice (but don't stuff yourself or you'll get tired!) and have some choccie bars and that on the side. i wouldn't nap, you won't get back up. keep concentrating and get as much done as you can, but dont be afraid to take a short break if you're overloading cause otherwise you're just gonna crack under pressure.
  23. I dunno about ever - there's so much crap out there you really have to name a year or something. Atm; that Soulja Boy crap. seriously, what a pointless load of dribble. T2 - Heartbroken. no you sweaty chav, you're not hard blasting it from your car, it makes you look like a trollop.
  24. oh my god who bumped an old topic! hahah
